Must Love Pawz

My dogs have been going to Must Love Pawz for 13 years now (since before it changed ownership and was rebranded.) We daycare during the week and sometimes even on a busy Saturday, board a handful of times each year and love their add-on services like baths/nails, one on one sessions (especially in the pool in warmer months). There’s no question the ownership makes sure that every employee truly “must love pawz” and the hello hugs and goodbye belly rubs they give my pup every time she arrives and leaves are a testament to the love my dog feels with them. The daycare package deals they offer are very reasonable and worth purchasing as they come at a significant discount. I also highly recommend upgrading to a room for boarding especially with larger dogs and if you’re going to have a long board and your pup is used to getting all the snugs at home adding on a cuddle session or two during your stay. Forever grateful for this place, their people and services!

An amazing doggy daycare with caring and well trained staff!! My 19-week-old GSD, Link, always runs out of the car and to the door in excitement so he can play with all his friends, and he always comes home happy and tired! I also love that they have a treadmill that they can train the dogs on, because I was planning on buying a treadmill for a while, so this was a great head start to see if Link liked treadmills before buying one! The previous daycare I had him at felt so unwelcoming and money first focused, but here I have had staff give helpful, positive reinforcement tips on Links training, and have been very warm and friendly to both of us! They also have puppy-focused care that allows the puppies to have more frequent potty breaks and naps, which I havent seen any daycares nearby that offer that! This place has a lot of love and heart for dogs, so if youre looking for a doggy daycare, this is the place!

I am so pleased with the care my dog receives at MLP. My boy used to struggle with meeting new dogs, didnt have good recall, and begged at the table. Since going to MLP he now initiates play with new dogs, can walk/hike off leash, and lays in place while we eat. He has learned manners and uses them daily. He dances in the back sit as we get closer to daycare and runs straight to the door. After daycare he is tired out from all the scents, barking, playing, and stimulation. He is a new dog and I feel safe leaving him there. I am grateful to the staff who greet him every morning, loves him all day, and say meaningful goodbyes in the evening.

Boarded here a four times over two years for work travel. Last time I dropped my pups off was around 8 months ago. Employees immediately remembered them. This last time I ordered a bath for one of my pups who (first time no one knew) didnt like the dryer, and stressed chewed through their collar. When I picked them up they immediately went above and beyond and offered to comp the cost of the collar. Offering to refund cost for damage my dog did on their own collar while doing a service I asked for, Blew my mind. This place is crazy awesome. Excluding this one event there have been others that have proven to me they really care. Forget five stars. 10/5

Jen has been really great with my cats. Its such a relief to know theyre in good hands so I dont have to worry when Im out of town.

My English Bulldog boards and occasionally attends the doggy daycare for the past few years, and each experience is simply amazing to both me and my pup. I have become more and more impressed with the service each year. Having an English Bulldog there are constant issues, and whenever something has occurred the staff at Codys has gone above and beyond to take care of him. The staff is flexible and I can honestly say, when I go to pick up my dog- he never wants to leave just yet. He loves Codys Cozy Pals, the staff unconditionally loves him, and I can completely trust the business with him- I am totally grateful for that. I highly recommend using Codys Cozy Pals- between boarding, doggy daycare or even receiving a bath- you and your pet will be extremely satisfied. This is the place to take your pet and know that they will be safe and loved just how you love them.

Ive been bringing my two dogs here for daycare and the occasional boarding for 4 years now and they absolutely love it! The staff are always friendly and greet us at the door. You can tell they really love animals because they greet the dogs before the humans!The clincher for me was when I brought my 4 year old and my 5 month old (at the time) puppy. One staff member told me the puppy may benefit from coming to daycare on her own without her sister for a while because they had become somewhat dependent on each other. My older girl loved having a quiet day away from the pup and the puppy had the chance to socialize with all sorts of other doggies. It just shows that Codys puts the well being of the dogs above making an extra buck! They very easily could have kept collecting money for having both dogs there but they recognized what was best for the overall wellness of both dogs and acted accordingly! Amazing!I completely trust Codys Cozy Pals with my pups. Ive tried other places in the area and these guys go above and beyond. They offer extras like pool time during the summer (my girls LOVE the water), treadmill time (my puppy needs extra tiring out and practice concentrating on tasks), grooming, training (both obedience and agility), and holiday pictures. The holiday pictures are my absolute favorite because who doesnt love their pups dressed up in ridiculous costumes posed in front of a themed background?I wouldnt bring them anywhere else!! The level of care Codys provides is unmatched!!

Great with my dogs !! They require pets to be dropped off for a day, no charge, to meet and greet before boarding. So when my dogs returned for their actual stay, they were comfortable and ready to play! great staff!! Very affordable ! Highly recommend

Weve used Codys services for taking care of our dogs for more than 8 years. We started before her formal day care center existed and she would care our dog at her home. She is a true animal lover and has always taken wonderful care of our pets. She made special consideration for our older dog when we used to take him to her facility, who is is very anxious outside our home, and her staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would easily recommend Cody to anyone looking for someone to take care of their day care needs.

I cant express enough how much my dog loves seeing her Auntie Cody and all the staff at Codys Cozy Pals. The care and attention given to each dog is unparalleled. Her facility is top notch, clean, and well maintained. My dog is shy and at times has needed special care due to injury. Codys has helped socialize my dog in a positive manner. I had to move last year away from the capital district and I was horrified by what was offered. Nowhere could I find a facility and care like at Codys Cozy Pals. Thankfully I moved back and Camden is back with her friends. I have had Camden groomed at Codys many times and my pup always comes back looking like a star. Their groomer even puts up with Camdens desire to not have her feet touched, and cries about it. They have a way with the dogs that keeps me coming back. The staff is knowledgeable and always gives me a report on how she did every day she is at daycare. The difference at Codys Cozy Pals is the love and attention given to each dog. Cody cares so much, and it always shows! She is only place I will board my special fur baby.

An old Hub delivery building, the owner got very creative with set up. They have dog rooms and runs. Take your pet out for potty walks and play at least 3 times a day. Updates daily on your pet. Very pleased. Staff was very warm and they love their borders. Would highly recommend.

Codys is the ONLY place we trust 100% with our dog, Apollo. He is a 175 pound Neapolitan Mastiff and, needless to say, he is a handful. He goes to Codys twice a week for doggie daycare and we board him there whenever we go on vacation. Weve been using Codys services since she opened her business on Old Niskayuna Road a few years ago and never had a problem. Cody, and her staff, are highly trained, knowledgeable, and very loving toward the animals entrusted to their care. They are attentive to Apollo and treat him as if he were their own. The few times that Apollo has been sick or behaved badly at daycare they have called right away to let us know, even if its a minor situation. Apollo loves going there, and I feel good knowing that he is being well cared for while we are at work or away. The facility is always clean and well kept and the staff have always been courteous and welcoming. I was very surprised to read some of the negative reviews on here as we would highly recommend Codys services.

Codys Cozy Pals is an absolute wonderful facility and has always been my one and only for boarding my boy, Brodie. I have personally known Cody for 7 years and have witnessed her dedication and special connection with animals both big and small. Cody’s Cozy Pals has always provided me the peace of mind needed for a vacation or weekend away. In addition to simply being a great place for my doggie daycare/boarding needs, Cody’s Cozy Pals hours of operation are much more accommodating than other locations which shows they are truly about the customers’ needs. I will recommend Cody’s Cozy Pals again and again.

I have trusted Cody to take care of my dogs Lillie and Maddie for many, many years - she has always treated my dogs with love and kindness and given them the attention they crave! They are excited to see her every time we drop them off and they come home happy, healthy and full of life. If you want to be able to go on vacation and not have to worry about your family back home - you will find no one finer than Cody and her crew to leave your puppies with....The best there is.

Our family has included five cats of various ages ranging from 1 to 18. Needless to say, when we travel for more than a couple of days, arranging for their needs is a big deal. Weve used Codys Cozy at Home In-Home Pet Sitting service because we know our pets are being extremely well taken care of. Every dietary, medication, special needs issue is being looked after as well as if we were home - or perhaps even a bit better. The animals are always happy and not freaked out when we get back, other than wondering where the heck we were. I enjoy the trip that much more more knowing the gang at home is FINE, and thats is why this is the only pet sitting service we use - thank you Cody!

My dog is 6 and has only had some interaction with other dogs his whole life. After only a couple months of bringing him to MLP my boyfriend and I noticed a HUGE difference in him on walks while greeting other dogs. We are now able to bring him to the dog park & he is much more comfortable around other dogs. Have never had an issue with them & they are always happy and willing to answer any of my questions about the care he receives.

I was recently in Albany for a few days and boarded my beloved Hugo with Cody. I dont often write reviews, but I am so grateful for the care my dog received. The facility is clean and well-run and every single human I spoke to was pleasant and warm. Hugo was happy and looked great when I picked him up. Thanks to everyone at Codys and well see you next time we are in the area.

This should tell you all you need to know about Codys Cozy Pals: when I first met Cody in person, she introduced herself to my dog first.Boarding costs are competitive with other places throughout the region, and on top of that, Codys doesnt charge extra for the privilege of socializing your dogs at daycare while they are boarded. Thats a big plus with some other places wanting to charge you for both!Ive found the staff to be uniformly well-mannered and familiar with canine behavior. They understand how to care for dogs in groups and how to work with each dogs unique temperament -- weve had ours at other places in the past staffed by teenagers disinterested in, and unaware of how to, manage large groups of dogs in a daycare setting. She was actually banned at another daycare for bad behavior which magically never manifests when under the competent and watchful eyes of Cody and her staff!I cant recommend this place enough, nor can I think of another place that I would endorse, other than Codys Cozy Pals.

It is my great pleasure to be a part of the Codys Cozy Pals family and see everyday the great work everyone does on a daily basis to keep everyones furry friends happy and healthy. Any could rest assured whether boarding or or just dropping their Doggy (or doggies!) off for the day for daycare. Every person, even Cody herself will happily go out of their way to assist a pet parent with anything they may need or ask for. Always accommodating and friendly with each and every pet parent. Considering Codys current job also includes finding a new space for the business its refreshing to see her still taking the time to do shifts up front checking in and answering calls and greeting every pet parent with a smile while still keeping herself busy with all the chores of a new space!

Boarded my cats here for the very first time, and the staff were amazing. When a problem arose with one cat, they called me immediately and informed me of what was going on and asked what I would like them to do. They also returned my call promptly when I called for an update. Highly recommend.

Awesome place. Clean, friendly, caring and educated on animals and whats best for them. Always posting and informing clients with up to date information regarding pet health and care. Very professional staff and personable at the same time. Many options regarding daycare and/or pet boarding. Also offers in house pet care. I have been bringing my pup here for 2 years....always a good positive experience. If you are looking for someone to actually care for your pet when you cannot be there this is the place to go. Large indoor play area/outside area as well. Treadmill time. Grooming. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

This is the only place in the capital region that I trust with my 4 footed friends. I used to feel anxious leaving my pets at other kennels but not here. I know they get individule attention with these guys.My family has used this facility since it was known as Codys Cozy Pals, and we couldnt be happier with the new owners. They are responsive to my pets needs and always accommodates mine and my families crazy pet care requests. They have a refrigerator for my dogs raw food, and can even administer insulin to my moms elderly dog.They go above and beyond!Thank you MLP!

While I have not boarded my dog or had her come in for Daycare I do intend to in the near future once her final booster is taken care of. I know a few people who work in the business and have met the owner Cody who was always pleasant and in good spirits. I would happily recommend to any family or friends Codys Cozy Pals for Daycare and or boarding.

Cody Cozys Pals is a gem of a place. They really make an effort to educate themselves & their clients on holistic approaches to help people keep their fur babies healthy which for me, is a huge positive. My dog Lola gets groomed there when we are visiting Albany & I LOVE that they diffuse essential oils to help Lola stay calm & happy when she is missing me. Cody and her staff truly love the animals that walk through their door and they come highly recommended if you need great people to care for your pets.

Jennifer was very professional and comforting when I called to find a pet sitter for my dog Gigi. She made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog with her over night. She understood how spoiled our pup is and took her into her home and treated her just as we would have. She sent me updates and pics of my pup. I would highly recommend her to everyone. We will be using her again in August. Thank you Jennifer and family for taking such good care of Gigi.

I have boarded my pup, Nacho, at a few different locations until I found Codys. I love the fact that he is able to enjoy daycare while boarding at Codys Cozy Pals, so now this is the only place I ever take him. The staff is top notch and attend to any issues that might come up, and they sure do arise when Nacho is involved! Since meeting Cody I have been inspired to venture into the pet industry myself and started working a couple of hours per week at the facility. I can say from an employee perspective that your pets are in great hands. We truly love all of them and give them extra loving when we are able to. I believe all of the staff truly loves pets and we are so honored to be able to care for them in your absence. I understand from a pet parents point of view that it is so hard to leave your pet when going on vacation, I still get sad when I leave my Nacho, but I am sad for me - not him - afterall this is his vacation too and he isnt sad at all! In short, I love CCPs services and I am so proud to be a part of the WHOLE family : )

My dog loved his dog walker, but when she was fired I stopped using this company and I was at a loss and didnt know what I was going to do. Fortunately I was able to find her and now they have been reunited. He was so happy to see her again. So I guess my review is thank you for firing her because now I have cheaper rates and the best possible doggie companion ever!

Oakley loves Auntie Cody and the staff at Codys! They go way above and beyond to help him with his anxiety and to make him happy when he is there. Cody does everything in her power to help calm him down, and she does it without being asked. She even rubs him down with lavender multiple times a day! We get pictures and updates about whether is he having a good or bad day. They recently got a new treadmill and its the perfect way for my energetic boy to get his energy out in a constructive way. I highly recommend them. Oak has been to other daycares in the area, and Codys is by far the best! I cant thank them enough for everything they have done to help Oakley! If you are there and see a cute brown pup behind the desk, give him extra pets...its most likely Oakley!!

Cody and her staff are amazing, I can’t say enough good things about them. During the past 2 years I have had to travel to California frequently, often without advance notice and without a definite return date and Cody always had a room for Morgan, my 2 1/2 year old Mastiff. At one point Cody even mentioned that she would take Morgan to her home if she was full when I needed to travel. During one of Morgan’s recent stays, Cody noticed she wasn’t eating the food I left for her, so she took it upon herself go to the market, buy food and cook it (Morgan does not eat regular dog food). Morgan especially enjoys play time and all of the attention she gets while she’s away from home. My only regret is that I did not meet Cody sooner. I feel truly blessed to have found Cody’s and I can’t see myself boarding Morgan anywhere else.

I started bringing my puppy, Ruthie, to Must Love Pawz after meeting a fantastic staff member at a local dog park. Ruthie was a regular at MLP for months and I never had any issues. Recently, there has been staff shortage. I stopped sending Ruthie after she got kennel cough in August (likely from being boarded at the end of July at MLP, despite Ruthie being vaccinated) but recently had to send her more frequently in October because I was moving. I’ve actively participated in puppy school and have attended MLP’s “Howl-ween Party”, know that this review has been difficult to post because Dan is fantastic. After one of Ruthie’s daycare stays in October 2021, Ruthie was not fed dinner one day, her nose was bleeding and she frequently smelled of urine. Upon boarding Ruthie in October, I found out the dogs only get a total of 2 hours outside their crates when they are at MLP. I had to pick Ruthie up early from her boarding because staff told me she had bloodshot eyes (not from an infection but likely due to stress). To note, staff use a slip leash with dogs (essentially a rope around their necks). Nobody could tell me exactly what happened which makes me believe the ratio of dogs to staff is too high. I requested a phone call from Dan and he did return my call and did not charge me for Ruthie’s boarding. Please consider the information above before sending your dog to MLP.

My puppy has been going to Codys Cozy Pals (CCP) since October 2015, when she was about three months old. Prior to sending her to CCP, I did research on the local options for dog daycare, and contacted many of the facilities to ask specific questions in order to ensure that I was going to make the right choice for my dog. Cody responded promptly and answered my litany of questions thoroughly, helping to assuage any fears I had. I have a large breed puppy and there are many special considerations that I feel a daycare should be aware of, namely those involving diet and exercise at her early age. Cody has extensive experience with a whole spectrum of dogs-and many, through the course of their entire lives-so I felt very safe leaving my dog in her care. She and the Daycare Manager worked with me to explain how the daycare worked, the structure of the dogs schedule each day, and then we set up our first day. I initially chose CCP for a number of reasons:1) my comfort with the owner/staff and their extensive experience and knowledge2) the proximity of CCP to my home, and how it works with my and my wifes commutes3) the days and hours CCP is open- this was HUGE. Many other local daycares are only open until 5 or 5:30pm, and CCP is open until 7:30pm, with no additional charges for late pick-ups. Also, CCP is open for daycare on Saturdays. We needed both of these options given our busy schedules. I also liked the fact that boarded dogs are included in the daycare schedule when appropriate, and appreciated the fact that, if we ever needed to board our dog, she would be at a facility where she was comfortable and where she would not be left in a crate all day.4) CCP by far offers the most add-ons in the form of pack walks, grooming, etc. Also, since we started there, CCP has added hour-long walks at the beautiful Crossings in Colonie and a fitfurlife treadmill made specifically for our four-legged loved ones to help them stay active and fit in the frigid winter months.Everyone who works there is professional and friendly, and they are always willing to answer any questions I have about the facility, protocol, or my dog while she is in their care. Most importantly, everyone is personally invested in my dog, and by all accounts, every other dog I see there. There care deeply about providing a safe, quality experience for my dog while helping her work on socialization and confidence. CCP is also within a vast network of local pet professionals. They can therefore provide information about, and references to, local health and behavioral training services if people are interested. Cody herself is a great resource when I have questions about pets in general and my dog in particular. She seems to be available at all hours to follow-up about something, or to answer a question.My dog comes home from daycare tired after a full day of playing with other dogs, interacting with other people, and an outside/treadmill walk. These are experiences I certainly cannot give her while I am at work, experiences she would not otherwise have if I simply hired a dog-walker to take her outside once every afternoon. She has yet to destroy anything in our home the entire time we have had her, and never drives us crazy with excess pent-up energy. I have CCP to thank for that, and therefore cannot speak highly enough about its services.

Ive used Must Love Pawz for two separate visits. The first was a quick weekend away, the second was a two week vacation. Both times, I had Jennifer come everyday I was gone and she gave the same level of attention and care to my two kitties as I would have if I was home. She spends about 45 minutes feeding, cleaning the box and playing with my girls (even watered the plants!). I was uncomfortable letting someone Im unfamiliar with into my home but when I met Jennifer, all trouble as alleviated. Shes very trustworthy & kind. I will always use this service when going away!

RIP Kodiak 12/26/13, Kodi always loved Codys Cozy Pals.The number one thing I can say is that Cody loves animals and that is her true motivation for her business.The care is great and the convenience (always appreciated the Sunday boarding pick up;) was always very convenient.I can highly recommend Codys Cozy Pals as the number one place in the Albany area to care for your four legged friends!

Jennifer is awesome and my dog loved her! She gave my baby the same care and attention that I would have. She also sent photos or videos to let me know how she was doing while I was away. I was pleased with her services and will definitely use her again!

We were in a huge bind for doggie overnight boarding - codys not only saved us but would have been our first choice anyway! They were friendly and kind, they texted us on our way over so we could have everything ready and then texted with us throughout the night while we were boarding our dog there. They sent pictures and relayed stories. Every person there knew who we were asking about and could tell us in detail how he was doing, how play time went, how pool time went, etc. They offered so many easy quick and useful options like a short walk, pool time, treadmill training, various room sizes. Really a wonderful experience and reasonably priced to boot! If we are ever here again we will def come back!

Jen and her team have been working with my pets and me on a long-term sitting arrangement and it has worked out well. I was referred to MZP by a coworker who uses their services, and I refer others to Jen and her team. The staff does its best to be accommodating and work with ever-changing family needs and schedules. Highly recommend!

Codys is the only place that I will leave my dog. He is a tough one to take care of (anxious, needs medicine, etc.) and they have always been great about dealing with all his various problems. I have been using them for about 2 years and have always been extremely pleased with their service.

For a time cruch, they worked. Our dog has hip and joint problems, so we give him supplements to help elevate his pain. We provide instructions on when to give our pup his supplements however, when we picked him up, we realized he was never given them.

I cant say enough about how well Cody has taken care of my dogs Monty and Max over the years. It is wonderful to have peace of mind that your dog will be well taken care of when you go away. I wouldnt bring them any where else!

Jennifer really came through when we needed it most. We had a family emergency in the middle of a holiday weekend. We are new to the area and didnt have a kennel/sitter yet. While most companies we called didnt bother to even return our phone call, Jennifer answered right away, came to our house within the hour to personally meet our family and work out the details. By the time we returned from our trip, our black lab was looking all over to see why it wasnt Jennifer walking through the door. Seems he had gone quite fond of the endless belly rubs he was treated to! Our Black Lab Blue still misses her. We were pleasantly treated to updates and pictures from each of her visits that really helped to let us know that our dog was safe and happy. Thanks again!

Always been super flexible and great to our dog. He is always excited to go in and spend time with the staff that works there. I appreciate their service and always being kind and courteous with us when we drop off and pick up.

I bring my dog here most days and hes excited everytime. The staff is just amazing here and so caring. Truly am grateful for the service they provide.

He one thing I can say is, I wish I found you guys sooner!! I wouldnt have had to endure all the worry and pulling teeth to get information about my boy Oliver! Jen and Dan have exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Even in this short time utilizing their service, I have been more than happy! Its stressful when you have to leave your fur babies at home in their crate if you have no one else to assist you. I was able to put all of my trust in them to care for Oliver and not have to worry! That is a huge thing for me as Im kind of neurotic when it comes to my boy smile emoticon Not only that, but Jen was very willing to work with me regarding my situation and has been more than helpful in so many ways! I will surely miss doing business with you both smile emoticon Oliver will miss you too :)

Have left my dog there a couple of times for boarding & he is happy to return. Staff is friendly, location is well kept & I like that there is socialization (group dog play) included in the boarding.

Had a great first experience. Wasnt a huge process and certainly made getting away for a weekend a lot less stressful. The dogs even seemed to enjoy themselves, but I dont speak dog so I cant know for sure.

The receptionist is very polite and responsive with the paper work that is required to schedule an appointment. They seem like they care about their customers and I really feel that are genuine and respectful in their line of work.

I have never used this facility but I called to find out if they were full for the weekend and the girl on the phone acted like I was a pain just for calling and said I can only tell you that if you are in our system which requires me to come in. She couldnt even tell me how full they are! Sad customer service, will not be using them or recommending to my clients.

Had my invalid Dachshund boarded for two weeks while on vacation. They took great care of him.

From what I have seen they treat the animals okay. One of the people at the desk told me they dont get the tips people give them.

Go to place from now on. Staff were excellent and polite. My dog looked like she had spent the week wth my family.

My mixed breed seems excited everything we drop him off and hes always well taken care of. The staff are very friendly and very attentive to the individual customer.

I am a new dog owner and was worried about finding the right dog walker for my puppy. Must Love Pawz took away all my worries. They send me daily pictures and updates of her when they go and walk her. They are reliable, easy to talk to and respond back right away. I am so happy with my choice to choose them and would recommended them in a heart beat.

Codys was the first place Ive ever boarded my dog Bode...and its the only place Ill ever go! The staff is amazing! I love how they all know Bode and hes just as excited to see them as they are to see him. Great group of caring people who put my mind at ease knowing my pup is safe and comfortable when I have to travel.
