Hounds Town - Dumbo

Justine gave my dog the worst grooming haircut he’s ever gotten. The fur around my dogs nose was trimmed in such a ridiculous and terrible way it’s almost hard to describe. I’ll let the photo speak for itself.Justine would not acknowledge how uneven and chopped up the cut was and refused to refund me. She told me that I should have taken him to a “fancy groomer”. I would have understood if she acknowledged the butchered job, but she would not. To me, that’s awful customer service. It will take about 3 months for this fur to grow back to blend in.Don’t take your dog to get a haircut here.Here are before and after photos.

We love bringing our pup here for boarding. We always know he’s well taken care of by Justine and her team. They go out of their way to ensure our pup is healthy and happy. Love seeing updates on instagram of all the fun he’s having while we’re away!

We love Hounds Town! We have tried several daycare/boarding businesses in the Brooklyn Heights/Dumbo area and nothing compares to the experience our dog has at Hounds Town. The owners and staff are incredible and treat her as she was their own dog! Our vacations and time away from her are more stress free knowing she is in the best of care.

Our little benny loves Justine and hounds town! (And so do we). We started taking him here at 7 months old and he was a little unsure, now we cant walk past without him trying to run up the ramp! We have complete peace of mind when we leave him for the day and I know hes always had a great day. Thank you always!!

Houndstown is a must if you live or work in the Dumbo area and are looking for a safe, clean, and wonderful group of people to watch after and care your dog! After trying a few different places in the neighborhood and not loving the experiences, our dog walker suggested that we try this local business and we have had nothing but great experiences. Justine and her team run the business with a human and local touch, which is no always what you expect to find in NYC. The team posts pictures of your furry love every day. They have separate rooms with doors and beds elevated off the ground when you board your puppy, which makes me feel great knowing my dog has his own place to sleep and wind down at night and feel safe. Another great perk is that they offer grooming services and we will typically set it up for the morning before we come to get our puppy after staying for boarding, which makes our life easier when we return from a trip.We love houndstown!

We’ve tried them all and Justine and the Hounds Town team are no doubt the best. They really care about each dog and it shows. They take care to group each pup with others they get along with, not just based on size. Best thing I can say is our pup is excited to go back every morning which makes us feel so great leaving her there.

Would HIGHLY recommend. First time boarding our pup here and she had such a great time! I don’t think she wanted to go home. We got updates through Instagram and the team running the place is so compassionate and friendly.Prices seem fairly reasonable (especially with it being Brooklyn/NYC). You definitely get what you pay for and you can sleep easy ur pup is in great hands.Thanks HT

I can’t express enough how happy I am with this facility. I am so impressed with the individual care they take with the dogs that come here. The owner Justine really gets to know each dog and groups them according to who they get along with, their size, activity level, and personality. In my previous daycare facility my little guy was just thrown in a room with upwards of 25 dogs and had to deal with whatever was thrown at him that day. The proof of his happiness is the way he runs up the stairs and leads me to the playroom door in the lobby. I feel so good dropping him off there. Highly recommend this place.

Oh my gosh they did such an amazing job grooming!! Awww so cute and highly recommend. Also, the day care facility is incredible so if you don’t need grooming, at least drop your pups off there to play.And the owner is awesome so really, this place is a must.

I am so thankful I found Hounds Town - Dumbo! I finally feel like my dog is in the best environment! The owner is so compassionate with all the dogs! I boarded him here and I love the little suite they gave him. I got to see pictures and videos of him on Instagram everyday which made me feel so comfortable. I love the fact that all the dogs have so much play time together!I highly recommend Hounds Town - Dumbo for boarding or even doggie day care!

All my usual Brooklyn doggy day cares near my apt were fully booked at capacity for the Holidays so I was searching desperately to find somewhere that could take my Cavapoo for a week. I came across this place, apparently a franchise. The place is very colorful when you walk in with a big mural painted on the wall from local artist CAM. That was pretty cool. I met the owner Justine and she’s a local in the area and has over 5 years of experience volunteering at animal shelters. I got a good vibe from her and I could see my dog felt comfortable with her. They did a “temp test” for my dog right on the spot. My little princess passed (no surprise there). Then we got 3 free days of daycare, a promotion they run (which I thought was good to take advantage of especially before considering to board here). My puppy just completed her 3rd free day of daycare and seems really happy!!…and exhausted afterwards, which I selfishly love. She sprinted up the HT stairs running straight for the playroom last time. 😂 I just booked boarding here starting Christmas Eve, and feel maybe even more confident with my pup here than her previous daycare. Also, I can’t wait to watch my little girl on their IG when I am away for the holidays! It always makes me happy to see my pup is happy with her new friends! Maple’s been going to Houndstown Dumbo for almost 2 years and we could never express enough gratitude and appreciation for Justine, Luca, and all whole team! Maple loves going to play with her friends and we love that the daycare provides different environments for the dogs and their temperaments. The whole staff genuinely cares for the wellbeing of the dogs in their care and that exemplifies the kind of facility they are. You can trust your dog is safe and enjoying their time. Our “little boss” chihuahua absolutely LOVES going to Houndstown. We can’t even pass by on a walk bc she needs to run up the stairs and try to say hello to the staff inside.She’s been to a different daycare/boarding place nearby but she would always come back dehydrated and tired bc she was too scared to take a nap.There is a night and day difference at Houndstown. She’s happy, playing with other dogs, naps next to them or when others are playing. Now when she comes home she’s just exhausted after a day of fun.

My dog loves it here. I have an small, older dog and I love that they have multiple playrooms to separate the big and little dogs. I love the Instagram account. The owner posts daily on Instagram and I get to see my dog run around and play with the other dogs. It is a clean and wonderful environment for her. I highly recommend if you are looking for doggie day care or to board your dog.

I boarded my dog Sam here and have nothing but good things to say about this place. I watched Sam play all day on the Houndstown Dumbo Instagram and was thrilled to see how happy and playful and well cared for she looked.They even gave her a free bath because she stayed more than 4 days and I picked her up looking and smelling clean and fresh.

My dog Luna loves it here! It’s a nice, clean facility with plenty of room for the dogs to play. The staff are really patient and accommodating. My dog can be shy and anxious, but they were so good with her!

I have taken my dog to several doggy day care and this is by far the nicest one yet. It is clean, bright and the dogs are very well cared for. Lots of play time and love! Wonderful establishment with a wonderful caring owner, I highly recommend!!

Houndstown knows what theyre doing when it comes to dog management. I highly recommend them for daycare and boarding.

Fab & Fun experience for pups. So lucky I found this doggy daycare close to my place of business. And after an impressive tour of the immaculate and safe facility, I now go out of my way to board my Magi here when I go on trips.

Justine and her team groomed my sweet foster dog and did a spectacular job! Josie was nervous as shed just arrived in NYC and Id be surprised if shed ever been professionally groomed in her life, but I picked her up looking gorgeous and in great spirits (she was cuddled up on the dog bed in their lobby, wrapped in a blanket!). Even her grooming was personalized as they kept her cute scruffy coat scruffy, just more glam. You can tell they actually care about the individual dogs in their care. Great new resource for pet owners in the area and Ill be back. Photo is her a few days after the grooming, still smelling fresh as a daisy!

One of the best boarding places in the city. Your doggie will be well taken care of and tired at the end of the day.

Our pup has visited all the doggy daycares in Dumbo and Hounds Town is by far our favorite! Justine (the owner) and her team truly care about each dog. Our pup has a lot of energy and comes home tired after every visit, but is always eager to get back to see her friends. The pricing here is really reasonable and on par with what you can find in the neighborhood but it’s hard to beat the personal touch and TLC our pup gets here.

We love Houndstown. Its our go to in the neighborhood for daycare and boarding. We left our tiny dog Jiggly with Houndstown for her first overnight boarding, and she had a great time and even made some doggy friends. You can tell Justine really cares about her pups and takes great care of them.

The owner is super great and the playing areas and sessions are perfect! They even think to remove collars before playing which makes us feel like they really care about our dogs safety and happiness.
