The best pet store ever! Got my two kitties there also!! Joan really cares about the cats and dogs and her clients. I even drive over once a month from Manhattan to get food toys and litter to help support her. Great shop support small business.

Will come to this pet store from all parts of Brooklyn/NY as I don’t even live in Williamsburg anymore. Such knowledgeable and kind staff, and they carry the best products around. I’m especially a huge fan of their food options - including their refrigerated and frozen sections for fresh food. And they carry cute clothing items too!

This pet store is wonderful. Everyone in there is extremely helpful and they really love animals! Which should be a given, but sadly its not for every pet store....They always come through for me when I have questions or need help. Jane (the owner) and Rich are so kind and helpful. As a pet owner its so reassuring to know your pet store is there for you. Theyre the best!

This is the best place in the neighborhood for cat supplies. Lisa is super knowledgeable about cats, kind and helpful. They do a lot to support local rescues and even have rescued cats for adoption in store. True animal advocates running this place!

Our go-to pet shop with a huge, affordable selection of cat food and pet products. We buy all of our cat’s food here and found it to be cheaper than even Amazon. The staff is super friendly and helpful, plus they have cats/kittens for adoption! Truly a great store.

I came in to buy my sassy sis a weather resistant coat. Once I stepped into the store, I noticed they had dog clothing right by the entrance. The sign read as 50% off all winter/outerwear. Score!Since I didnt bring my dog in that afternoon, I was struggling with trying to find the right sized coat for her. I showed a staff member pictures of her and she was proactive in helping me find the proper size. She even gave a distinct opinion when I asked which one looked best. I was also reassured by the owner and staff that I could exchange for a different size if the product didnt fit.I settled on a pink & orange reversible coat of decent quality. A definite step up, in terms of materials and styles, from the usual generic pet stores. The store layout was neat and clean. I didnt get a chance to go through all their products, but I noticed they were well-stocked in pet supplies and food. It was a fairly painless experience; I was in and out of the store within 10 minutes.*As a warning, for all people allergic to cats, the store does have 2 cats roaming around freely and hanging by the register area. I was sneezing quite a bit after I left the store, and I noticed the bottom lid of my left eye got pink and was itchy.*

PS9 is absolutely amazing!!! The staff are more than knowledgeable and helpful...The supply high end pet food, from most vendors. The also are very for cats friendly, which has its own separate store next door from the dog store. Also if you prefer raw food, they have several brands!!! Most importantly, they’re always willing to help dogs and cats that are not so fortunate...If you are interested in fostering or adopting, you can inquire with Joan (owner). I came in here thinking I’d like to get a cat some day and went home with a cute, semi-tame companion. Joan (owner) is great - I’m sure I’ll be back again and again!

Extremely knowledgeable staff, great brand selection and awesome rewards and points system! Ive debated signing up for online auto-fill programs, but it isnt any cheaper than what PS9 has and my dog Kate loves stopping by! I feel very fortunate to have such a wonderful pet store so close!

Love PS 9 Pets! They have a wonderful selection of high quality foods, the woman who owns the store is very kind and helpful, and best of all, this place really cares about animals and your pets! They do kitten adoptions, and the store is always housing a wonderful brood of baby kittens. Its a pleasure to go in there and play with the little darlings, and know they are being well taken care of.

This place is has so much selection on non-food pet product. There are a lot of food products too but our visit was for different purpose. Employees are very friendly and helpful. They have great exchange policy, we had to change one of the collar we bought, and they changed it without and further questions. Lastly, they have reward system that you can earn discounts from first transaction.

Great pet store that partners with rescue organizations like Korean K9 Rescue. All their animals are rescues and they sell food that is high quality for your pets. Can be pricey, but totally worth it for our fur babies.

This is for PS9 on North 9th St., Brooklyn. Be careful when trying to return/exchange an item. Cashier with a British/Irish accent who said her name was Amanda gave me a hard time when all I wanted to do was exchange a cat toy that was purchased 2 days before. I wasnt returning it, I just wanted to exchange it for something else and she accused me by stating it was unacceptable, unheard of and disgusting of me to try and return an item that was opened from its packaging. I stated that the item was a cat toy not a perishable item like food/treats. It came in a plastic bag that I opened for my cat to test out which I put back cus he didnt care for it so I wanted to exchange it. For her to give me a hard time showed me that the store obviously doesnt honor their store policy even though the store had a sign on their wall and on the receipts it stated that Returns accepted within 14 days for store credit only. No returns on opened perishables. If youre going to give customers a hard time getting a return/exchange/store credit on a toy that is non perishable then why claim that your store accepts Returns within 14 days for store credit? This was unacceptable customer service. This isnt the only pet store in the neighborhood but I wanted to support small local businesses but after that treatment, Id rather go to the other one by Kent Ave.

Employee in cat portion of store was extremely intrusive and disrespectful of us and our cat - they went so far as opening up our carrier and grabbing our 9 week old kitten without permission and then dangling her in one of the cages with one of the cats that was up for adoption. Unsafe for both our cat and the other kitten!

I’ve been here a few times now.It’s hit or miss. The prices are a little steep but the staff make me feel like I’m invisible. I’m not a high maintenance customer at all, but I hate being flat out ignored.Especially when someone is standing in the doorway yelling to another employee from across the store blocking the way out while I’m trying to leave.Hi, I’m claustrophobic and anxious please let me out?

Some of the cutest cats ever! They have a great selection of healthy food options for your cats as well as general supplies like toys and bowls, etc. The staff is really pleasant and they are super helpful... Especially when it comes to playing with the cats!

We have two options for pet stores on this block. This should be your choice. The staff is friendly, they care, and they actually know what they’re talking about. Prices are fair, not overpriced like nyc pets around the corner.

Hi. I’m Amanda, and I do occasional shifts at PS9. Im responding to Kris Ali (Or Kat A on Yelp) below. I work at PS9 because I’m a neighbor, I’ve been a customer for 15 years, and I’m a total fan of their stock, their staff, and the amazing work that they do with the animal rescue community in Brooklyn. Kris Ali/ Kat A did indeed come in while I was working to exchange a $6 cat toy that she’d purchased a couple of days prior. And while it is true that the item wasn’t exactly perishable, she’d opened the packaging, and obviously used it, in order to determine her cat wasn’t that into it. I was completely incredulous that someone would open the packaging, play with a $6 toy, then want to exchange it (illogically for an almost identical toy made from the same materials by the same company), leaving me with damaged packaging to try to work out whether I could even return it to stock (for hygiene reasons I couldnt, of course). I complied, but remained incredulous and said so. Another customer in the store found it equally peculiar and offensive and offered to back me up. My accent is Australian, by the way. Clearly Kath Ali/ Kit A is clueless.

Been twice since getting our dog and each time went home with some complimentary item.Staff answered every question with great recommendations.We will be regular customers to say the least!

PS9Pets is a really great pet store that I highly recommend stopping by. They had an extensive stock of food and toys, and all the staff were so nice and knowledgeable. I loved getting to see the cats that were up for adoption in the cat section of the shop, and you can tell they are well loved and taken care of. I found the cutest items for my cats and dog, and I cant wait to go back and get more in the future!

Going to PS9 to adopt our two kittens was one of the best decisions we made this year. Joan is incredibly knowledgeable and caring, guiding us long after the adoption and answering all of our questions. Not to mention, the store has food and toys that keep our kittens healthy and happy. Highly, highly recommend this place!

Love ths store and been going there for 14 years. They have all the right stuff to keep my guys healthy and they have a knowledgeable staff. Plus my entire family were rescues I found at PS9! They do great work with the rescues and they have all the best foods and supplies - what more can ask for!

Was there a specific reason why, even though I was in the store first and all I wanted was info on fostering a cat, I was ignored and had other customers who walked into the store get served first while you were on your phone? Nice store, rude staff.

STAY AWAY. Unknowledagble staff, whom put the blame on others, and make false promises by untrained/undertrained staff that they cannot fulfill- caveat, ask about return or exchange policy if youre in doubt before purchasing*****Unfortunately, I was not able to speak to MOD or owner due to the cashier on duties outlandish banter, but just 12 hours earlier I purchased a $25 bag of food for our malti-poo, and the cashier on Friday night 1/5/18stated to my wife, feel free to return or exchange bag the next day if your dog does not like the new food.Per a staff members instruction; we followed through on her instructions. Unfortunately, the food suggested by staff member was not what our dog was used to. Nonetheless, today 1/6/18 we returned in the hopes to seek new food(in which we would be okay to pay a larger sum- if need,) but only to be greeted by RUDE Unfriendly staff(who was very condescending, and unwilling to help without giving a stink in front of clients there)- whom was advised on statement and promises of her staff member the night before.Needless to say, the staff members outlandish banter got too much to handle because she stated- just for the future we give no refunds or exchanges.(I walked out of store at that point and let my wife handle it.)I wouldve been okay with that if advised at purchase otherwise, but the fact that she couldnt handle a simple request/ explanation, or promise made by her staff members leads me to believe that this business makes promises it cannot fulfill, and or have no protocol that is followed by ALL staff members.Thank you as you have lost a neighborhood client.
