Happy Dogs at McCarren Park

Glad to have my pup back at Happy Dogs! I was worried that my dog would be nervous and not enjoy being at daycare due to his anxiety but he loves being at daycare and it has relieved some of his anxiety issues! better! I love being able to check in on him via the camera system and the member site to make reservations, check in/out, and payments is so convenient! The on-site staff and the office staff are amazing! Quick communication via email or call for any questions! You can tell the on-site staff cares for the dogs and is very cautious of the dog’s safety and well being! Also keeps a watchful eye to clean up messes immediately! No smelly dog after daycare!

This was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. We trusted this place to take care of our dog while we were on vacation abroad, and they completely ruined our trip. They contacted us and demanded that we come back immediately to pick up our dog, despite knowing we were out of the country. Their lack of professionalism, compassion, and responsibility is appalling. We were left scrambling, trying to make arrangements from miles away, which added unnecessary stress to what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. It’s clear they have no business caring for pets if they can’t handle the basic commitment of doing their job. Avoid this place at all costs if you value your peace of mind and your pet’s well-being!

My dog loves it here! She always comes back happy and exhausted in the best way possible. I really appreciate that they allow the dogs to play, but don’t let them get too wild- her play behavior at the dog park has improved immensely since we started bringing her to Happy Dogs. Highly recommend!

We have been excited to bring our pup to Happy Dogs but we wont be coming back.After two single day visits, our dog now refuses to walk by the south side of 12th street. She puts on the breaks as we approach Happy Dogs, whines, and refuses to go by. If I am successful at getting her to walk past the front door, her tail goes between her legs, she gets low to the ground, and starts to run.Juxtapose this to her vet where stands at the front door, tail wagging, waiting to be let in - even when no one is there.To be fair, I did not catch any evidence of abuse on camera and my dog did not show any marks of physical harm the two times I picked her up. However, its very clear my dog is afraid of Happy Dogs.

We used Happydogs for boarding a couple times a while back at their Brooklyn location and was very happy with the service, but it wasn’t a convenient a location for us. When they opened the LIC location for boarding we started up again and our pup loves it there! When we pull up out front, he can’t wait to get out. Great service, nice daily updates, and happy dogs!

My mini dachshund Dudley has been going to Happy Dogs for over a year now (both the Southside + McCarren locations) and continues to run to the door in excitement every time we walk in. He started attending around 4 months old which helped immensely with socialization, and continues to go at least once a week to hang with his pup friends. The staff is incredibly helpful, kind, and trustworthy. Theyre very quick to respond on email, and will send updates during the day if necessary. Dudley always come home happy and exhausted from a day of playing.

Concerned Dog Parent:Full disclaimer : I treat my dog like he is my child, and if you do too, you may continue reading my review .I had to board my dog last minute and did not have the chance to dive deep into researching the best boarding services. Well... based on the reviews I have read, it seemed like everyone, for the most part,  likes this place.I was told that they dont believe in putting dogs in crates ( which I can respect).  My dog passed the behavior assessment, and I was told he can board .Now,  its day 1 of his 3-night stay, and the live cam is on during daycare hours ,which doesnt make sense for people who would like to see their dog at night . How do I know if they are even being supervised?  Did he even get a cot to sleep on?The worst part, looking at the three angles ,  in one angle, I counted 26 dogs in a tight space  circling around . There were no toys , no obstacle course , just literally circling around a small space.  Also, they updated you but I am not sure how honest it is because I did not see my dog interact with any dog and I checked the camera every day at random times, yet they said he was friendly and made a friend.I think that the staff is very sweet . It is weird that they dont think they should hire a receptionist.  People answer emails the next day , and if your dog is at a daycare , you should be able to speak to someone immediately with any concerns.Overall, I would not recommend this place !

Every single person that weve dealt with at Happy Dogs McCarren Park has been outstanding. We have a high-energy dog, and rather than leave him cooped up in our apartment during the workday, we sought some help with Happy Dogs.Wrigley loves to play, and its such a relief knowing that he is spending his visits with quality buds under the thoughtful supervision of Happy Dogs. They roll with a pack mentality, so they look to address any less-than-ideal activities/behaviors (Wrigleys more than others most likely).Everything that the company does is transparent (e.g. the live camera feeds that let you see the pup playtime). Theres never a second thought when our dog goes to Happy Dogs, because its obvious how much they truly care.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We have been sending our year old corgi to daycare at Happy Dogs for about 5 months and it truly has been a life saver in terms of both ease and his behavior (Riggs always comes home happy and much calmer than the days that he hangs at our apt) I love the pictures they post as well as the live stream portal which i haven’t found to be available at other daycare places in north brooklyn.The biggest thing for me is the transparency this place has around when things don’t go as planned. About a month ago Riggs got bit by another dog at the daycare. I truly do believe that Happy Dogs does everything to avoid these situations but sometimes this stuff happens! The way the staff handled the situation was very impressive to me. They communicated extremely quickly and efficiently with us and we were able to get Riggs to a vet and checked out (Everything was ok!) We have paid twice as much and gotten half this transparency with other places in the area. Thank you happy dogs!

I did not have a horrific experience like some of these negative reviews here, but neither do I think Happy Dogs at McCarren Park can justify the glowing reviews.I was excited to use Happy Dogs as my puppy’s first daycare experience. The online registration process was thorough and efficient, and gave the impression that there was a responsive team that held itself to strong standards.When I dropped off my puppy, the handler took her from me and after answering my one question about how I would know if my puppy passed the assessment, told me that any further questions should be directed to the business over email and seemed eager for me to leave. I know that mornings are very busy so didn’t think too much of this interaction.When I logged on to view the puppy camera, I was struck by how many dogs were crammed into what appeared to be a very small room. There certainly wasn’t enough space for the dogs to actually play or run, at least from the video, and almost all of the dogs were just swarming around the handler (who was cleaning the floor) like a school of fish. When I went to pick up, a different handler came out and handed my puppy to me, now looking haggard, sticky, and smelling absolutely disgusting, over to me without a word before turning to go back into the playroom.Ultimately, nothing horrible happened, but the disinterested handlers were off putting and made me feel uneasy about leaving my puppy with Happy Dogs for another day. I didn’t have any special requests or expect excessive attention, but I at least would have expected the staff to act like they like dogs.I have since found other daycares in the neighborhood that have better space to dog radios, happier to answer questions, and just generally friendlier staff that are interested in caring for my puppy.

Definitely one of the most affordable daycares Ive brought my dog to. He L O V E S Happy Dogs—so much so that I usually have to drag him home afterwards because hes sad to leave! The webcam is a great feature to check up on your pup and their hours are generous. Their little outdoor patio is also great, he can get some fresh air throughout the day (hard to come by in city day cares). Would recommend to any tired dog owner who wants a day off :)

Our dog is beyond excited the moment we turn on the street! He loves Happy Dogs so we love Happy Dogs. I know not only is he being taken care of but that he‘s a happy dog (pun intended) being there!

Happy Dogs at McCarren Park is the only doggie daycare/boarding that I trust in NYC. My dog, Monty, loves it there and gets excited when we drop him off. The staff is so nice and welcoming, plus they keep us updated on Montys stays. The prices + punch cards are super affordable. As a member, you get access to their Nest cameras to watch your dog play! Its such a relief. Monty is sometimes finicky about food and they will reach out & carry a lot of food + treats on hand. And to purchase too! Also, its right next to the dog run at the park, pet stores, and the L/G trains.

Our Golden Doodle loves going to Happy Dogs!! They provide a great experience and he never wants to leave!! Would suggest bringing your dog here :))

Ive been boarding and doing daycare with happy dogs for about 2 months now and my dog loves it. He literally drags me two blocks when he knows its daycare day. The prices are competitive for the # of hours a full day is and you get a bunch of other discounts if you have a package. On boarding days, they send a picture of him everyday for me.

Ive been taking my Aussie to happy dogs for a year and a half now and its been great. We usually do day care, but for those weekend weddings he sometimes boards as well. The staff are responsive to emails, track your pups vaccines and send you reminders when theyre nearing an update. If you book in advance there are never any issues reserving a spot and there are even spots left available for same day walk ins! I love watching my dog interact and run around on their cameras! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the city looking for reliable day care/boarding.

Our 1.5-year-old border collie/pittie mix, Maggie, has been coming to Happy Dogs since she was a puppy and loves it. We originally checked it out thanks to a neighbors recommendation, and now multiple dogs on our block are part of the Happy Dogs pack.There are normally a number of dogs staying at the facility, so as long as your dog is comfortable with that level of activity, theyll have a big day and sleep soundly. (Maggie is a social, energetic gal, so shes thrilled to get to play with other dogs all day.)Its a tightly run ship, with an easy-to-use booking system and clear (and strict!) rules that keep things running smoothly. Were happy to have a location in the neighborhood.

We love Happy Dogs! Our 1 year old pup has been going since about 6 months old and she is gets so excited when we turn on N. 12th and pulls us to the door because she knows she is going to play with all her friends. We really like that we can check on her during the day if we want to with the camera on the member website, but we barely do anymore because she is always having a great time when we see her in there! The staff is very friendly, communicative and they answer e-mails almost immediately. You can tell they care about the dogs and we could not recommend Happy Dogs enough.

Our puppy loves Happy Dogs! She literally drags us through the door she is so excited to play with her friends. The staff is very friendly, and clearly are great with dogs of all shapes, sizes and energy levels. Our puppy is about 1 year old, 50 lbs and super energetic. We watch her on the cam and she is having a great time. The interface is also really easy to use, making check-in and out a breeze. Definitely recommend!

Our dog loves going to happy dogs. It is a super easy drop off and pick up - and the customer service is great. They are responsive via e-mail in case something comes up, and sometimes sends fun pictures of our dog at Daycare.

Really grateful to have this dependable option for my dog! Only complaints would be the very strong stinky dog smell when you walk in the front doors. But to be expected! My dog always goes in happy and leaves happy too!

Happy Dogs has been amazing for our very energetic lab puppy! She literally drags us there anytime we start walking in the general direction. Every day she goes, she comes back exhausted after playing all day with the other dogs and staff.The staff is extremely friendly, always responsive and attentive to details. Our dog has been going to Happy Dogs for a few months now and she loves it! She gets tons of exercise and stimulation so she comes home nice and tired. We find that the staff are incredibly friendly, organized and communicative with us - it makes our lives so much easier and we feel so comfortable leaving our pup with them. Would highly recommend!

Could not have had a worse experience with Happy Dogs McCarren Park. We boarded our sweet pup there for 3 nights and when we went to pick him up on Sunday they did not allow us to pick him up and made him stay another night. We reached out via phone and email and they said if we arrive by 6:15pm we could pick up our puppy. We arrived a couple minutes before 6:15pm and they locked the doors. Not only were the doors locked but they were ignoring our emails and calls. We had a family emergency and had to get our puppy ASAP. We waited for an hour knocking on the door to get our pup and they would not answer. They claim they have 24/7 supervision for the dogs but do they? They turn off their cameras at night and do not answer emails, the door, or phone calls in emergency situations. Along with not allowing us to pick up OUR DOG, our puppy came home limping, exhausted, and starving. I am a first time dog owner and usually wouldnt waste my time writing a review but this was a traumatic experience and I would advise anyone looking for boarding in Williamsburg to look elsewhere.

Happy Dogs is an understatement! My pup Otis gets so excited every time we get close to the McCarren park location. One morning it took just a couple minutes for them to open the door and he wouldnt stop crying to get let in. Now if only he was that happy to see me on the other side of the day...I feel so comfortable leaving my pup with them, it really is like a second home for him. He also got a bath there and came out looking so fresh! Highly recommend for all services

I cannot recommend Happy Dogs enough. Our dog is a three legged pit mix who is fearful of bigger dogs and strangers, so we were a bit concerned leaving him anywhere new for the weekend. However, the staff at Happy Dogs has been phenomenal. They kept him happy, engaged, and interactive with all the other dogs of all sizes, which has helped his anxiety about bigger dogs and other people. They also live stream everything during the day, which made us very comfortable whenever we wanted to check in on our dog. Happy Dogs has been a lifesaver for us, and I recommend anyone who needs a boarding site for their dog to go to Happy Dogs first. Thank you Happy Dogs!

A lifesaver! My dog is obsessed with Happy Dogs. I was a bit hesitant at first since he is a tiny Yorkie but the staff does a great job of monitoring all the dogs and the playing. He is so tired after a long day playing its hard to get him out of bed in the am.

Happy Dogs is great! We take our dog to the McCarren location, and she is always so excited on the entire walk there. They clearly treat their animals with love and care, and having the touch-up options have saved us many trips to the vet.

I recently put my pup Geller in the care of this facility over the Holidays. After having some poor kennel experiences around NYC, this place fully out did themselves. They share daily updates on your dog, were incredibly attentive to alert me that my dog was being picky about eating for the first few days and found a solution to get her off hunger strike. The live cam gives owners a piece of mind during separation. If youre looking for a quality place and safe place for your dog, this is it! Much appreciated and will be using HappyDogs for all of Gellers future slumber parties!

We have been taking our dog to Happy Dogs for a few months now and could not be happier. Our dog loves to go, and she gets to play all day -- she gets a lot of exercise in, which is especially nice now given how much time we spend at home with her.Happy Dogs is also very responsive when we need to communicate with them, and they are on top of food needs and the like. We also feel very secure about their safety procedures, the check-in/check-out process, and how they treat the dogs. Their live webcam is also a great touch for watching our dog while she is gone.

Our dog has been attending Happy Dogs once a week since she was about six months old, and we absolutely love it there. We check in on the camera while shes playing with her friends and can see shes having a blast. Weve also boarded her at Happy Dogs while weve gone on vacation, and we know she is always in the best hands. The staff sends us daily updates about how shes doing, including her eating habits (we have a notoriously fussy eater) and a photo of her playing. We always recommend Happy Dogs to our neighbors!

My dog Apollo absolutely loves Happy Dogs! I’ve dropped him off at the McCarren Park, Southside, and Manhattan locations and he has enjoyed all 3. You can tell the staff truly cares about making sure all the dogs have a fun and safe experience while they’re in their care.Apollo gets to socialize in a safe environment and play all day with all types of dogs. He gets excited as soon as we’re anywhere near their locations. The webcams they have set up are so fun to watch too. I highly recommend Happy Dogs to all dog parents looking for quality care.

The last daycare I brought my dog to, she was shivering and shaking the moment she walked in. When I decided to try out Happy Dogs @ McCarren Park, Bella was immediately comfortable and excited to play! She pulled away, sniffed everything in sight, and jumped into the workers arms. I was certain shed have a great time and feel comfortable.My feelings were confirmed because members are able to access a live video camera of the play area. Being able to check on Bella and see how much fun she was having and how well the staff treated the dogs was reassuring.Another reassuring feature of Happy Dogs at McCarren Park are the wellness updates they send to me via email. They let me know how much my doggo ate per meal and they even attach a photo they snapped. They send a followup email after the visit, too.My dog and I are overjoyed that weve found Happy Dogs at McCarren Park. This is the best daycare Ive ever brought my dog to. I highly recommend!

Happy Dogs has been an absolute life saver for me. I rescued an adult dog from a local shelter about a year ago. I was planning on using dog walkers / sitters to come to my apartment when I was working or traveling, but after I brought him home, it became clear that he had severe separation anxiety, and my neighbors were understandably less than thrilled. I wasnt sure what I was going to do until I found Happy Dogs.My dog goes in with tail wagging every day. They are very flexible and convenient -- offering boarding, pick-up and delivery, and baths. They are very responsive over e-mail and are not phased by a last minute change in plans. The front desk people are very friendly and get to know you and your dog almost immediately. They also are great about sending me updates and pictures if hes boarding there for a longer time. He can be a little bit anxious, and whenever I watch him on their live video, I can see that he is absolutely calm and relaxed and safe -- what I care about most. I cant recommend them enough.

Love Happy Dogs! Convenient location for me being in LIC. My pup, Murphy, comes home happy and well cared for. I also like that I can take my pup to any of the Happy Dogs locations for daycare services.

We love Happy Dogs, but not as much as our pup! It’s so great having such a trustworthy spot to leave our pups when we need. Our dog is always eager to go in and see his friends and is exhausted from a day full of play time when we pick him up. Clean facility, staff is wonderful. Highly recommend!!

Really love this place. My dog Marvin is a big, alpha, male lab mix, and hes never had a single issue here. The Happy Dogs staff are brilliantly trained and know what theyre doing. He loves to go to daycare, and after recently learning they do cage - free boarding, Ive boarded him twice and they send me pictures of how happy he is and really seem to love him. I do one-a-week daycare and will likely up that soon. Have never tried the bathing service.

We’ve loved our time at Happy Dogs McCarren Park! Our corgi joined the pack when he was 7 months old and he’s really enjoyed his time there. For anyone looking for a daycare for your pup, I highly recommend Happy Dogs. They are super responsive if you have questions and keep everything super well organized within their portal and online account. You also have access to their live camera so you can always have an eye on your pup! Drop-off and pick-up is easy as well!

We have two large dogs (50lbs and 60lbs) and they both love going to Happy Dogs. How do we know? They walk right up to the door, tails wagging.Happy dogs has been great to us as well. They have helped in a pinch when we needed a last minute board or day care. We get to check in on our pups throughout the day on their web cams and the team is hyper responsive if we have questions.

Our go-to spot for boarding our pup (they call it a sleepover). We can check in on him using their nest cam to make sure he’s having a good time. They’ll even bathe our guy and trim his nails for a little extra—he leaves looking fluffy and smelling great. We’ve used the LIC and 2nd Ave locations as well. Very user friendly website and lovely staff.

Our dog Betty LOVES going to Happy Dogs for daycare! She can ever contain her excitement as soon as she realizes we’re close by. We started bringing Betty to daycare during the COVID pandemic and they have been great at making sure everything is being done safely while always communicating with us and being very responsive. Definitely recommend!

I adore Happy Dogs. I am very protective over my pup so when it comes to boarding, I will only take him places I really trust. At Happy Dogs, they care about transparency and will always let you know how your dog is doing while you are away -- like photo updates, emails and a doggy webcam. Definitely recommend!

We’ve been sending our party girl Sylvia to Happy Dogs for the past 7 months! They’ve been nothing but wonderful partners throughout Sylvia’s time there. When a behavioral issue popped up, they recommended us a wonderful trainer and took the time to send weekly emails to keep us updated on her progress. The staff even kept an extra eye out on her to ensure she was on her happiest dog behavior. Also, we love that when we’re in a bit of a rush in the morning during the week, they are more than happy to feedback her breakfast (with our food ofcourse) !

We were so happy when we found Happy Dogs, after having made a move that was bit traumatic for our dog Mico. He immediately felt comfortable at Happy Dogs, and has been happy to come back for daycare several times a week over the last year. We have also boarded him for long weekends. The staff are truly caring, and it shows in the way they greet him and know him, plus follow up with us - and pay attention to all details. It has made our life a lot better knowing we have a safe and fun place to leave our dog. We recommend Happy Dogs for anyone looking for a caring and safe boarding place. Thank you Happy Dogs!

I cannot say enough good things about this daycare! My dog LOVES going. He literally runs to the door once we turn onto the street. I love being able to watch him on video when hes there. He goes once a week. Hes also been boarded for a week at Happy Dogs. It was his first time being boarded and when I emailed the staff to check in halfway through the week, they responded with a thoughtful update and a picture of him.

We LOVE Happy Dogs! Our dog has been a regular here for over five years and he is always excited to go to daycare with these guys. The staff is always friendly and completely on-point, and they really go out of their way to accommodate you, whether youre running late from work, need a last minute drop-off, or are scheduling weekend boarding. Most importantly, they take awesome and loving care of the dogs, knowing each one by name, giving them treats at the end of the day, and showering them with affection. Weve been to a few and these guys are the best in Williamsburg.

Both my dog and I love Happy Dogs! My Barkley is eager to go every day and seems so happy! I also love their full transparency aka live stream of the doggie play room accessible to dog moms and dads. Staff is super friendly too. It’s pricey but unfortunately standard for the area.

We love Happy Dogs! And so does our shiba inu, Ruby. The front desk staff are very friendly (shout out to Jordan and Stacy) and are always quick to respond to our needs via email. Sometimes Ruby does not finish her breakfast and they allow us to drop it off with her in the morning and theyll feed her during lunch. We are so appreciative of this perk since we are not able to be with her all day. They also give her a treat when we pick her up which she happily sits for every time. Happy Dogs offers a boarding option that has come in handy when my husband and I travel. We feel very confident leaving her for multiple nights in a row and have done so a handful of times. Ruby has SO much fun running around with the other pups all day (were able to watch her on the live cam - its great to see her interacting with other dogs vs. staying home alone all day), and by the time we pick her up she is wiped out and usually lies on her bed for the rest of the night which gives us some free time of our own after work. Only con - Im not sure theres a limit on how many dogs theyll accept in a day. Sometimes the space looks way too overcrowded, but Ruby has so much fun that its worth every penny.

I always feel so comfortable leaving Linus for boarding at Happy Dogs. I bring her to the McCarren Park location and she loves it. They have cameras available, so i can periodically check on her. She is always running around with the other dogs or getting some rest on one of their beds. The play area is always clean and the dogs are being watched. You feel confident your pup is going to be well taken care of at Happy Dogs and having fun while your away.

We cant say enough good things about Happy Dogs. The staff is super nice, the facilities are extremely clean, and they are always very accommodating (baths, swicheroos, make up days, etc). Stevie (our 11 month Goldendoodle) absolutely loves her time there - she plays all day and comes home good and tired. We are so happy we found Happy Dogs!

Great day care for my dog!! They are very responsive with emails and have safe protocols with COVID. Also, its a very secure check in and check out process to ensure your dog is returned to YOU! :) Love the doggy cam as I can check get out during the day - shes always having a great time and staff treat the dogs well. My pup, Elvis, loves to be around all the dogs. He gets so excited to go to daycare once a week. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that Elvis isn’t all alone during my long day at work. I really like the options they provide and you can pick what works for you and your pup in terms of daycare. The people there are always super helpful and responsive via email. I would recommend Happy Dogs Daycare to any dog parent.

My dog, Blue, LOVES Happy Dogs!! He does 2-3 days a week while Im in the office and I can trust he always safe, having fun and getting good exercise. The live cams are an added layer of fun, I can check in see what he is doing. Their notes on his eating and bathroom schedule throughout the day are helpful as well. If you live in Williamsburg I recommend sending your dog here!

Would recommend Happy Dogs to anyone looking for daycare/boarding services! Our dog Bear loooves coming here, as soon as we start approaching he knows where we are going and gets very excited. When we board him I love the daily updates that get sent to us from Happy Dogs, and they always include a photo which makes my day. They are extremely reliable and I feel such comfort sending Bear here. Happy Dogs is the best!

We love Happy Dogs! They take such great care of our Labrador, Gunner, when he stays there. We especially love that they have an outdoor area, where he can get fresh air. The ease of booking, the live cam, and the friendly staff add to the quality of Happy Dogs.

Happy dogs is great. Our dog loves to go there. You can tell he’s excited once we’re getting close. He always tends to be tired when we pick him up, so we know he’s had a good day (which is great for us as we’re tired when we finish work). Our dog Archer goes to Happy Dogs almost every weekday. He had never been to daycare before, and being a rescue dog was skittish at first. I loved being able to check on the cameras that he was doing okay, and now hes adapted/used to it. Its also handy that Happy Dogs is across the street from the dog park, so we have a routine: Archer gets tired out playing fetch in the dog park, and then goes to hang out with his friends while Im at work. The people running Happy Dogs are great and always accommodating and professional. I like that they have a behavior assessment, so you know all the dogs are getting along in there. They will also bathe your dog, so they dont get too stinky from playing with the others!

Our 1.5 year old Shiba Inu pup comes regularly to Happy Dogs and enjoys it! I love that there are cameras so we can check in on her throughout the day. We regularly get the punch-pack which is a great option since we send our pup ~1-2x per week and also utilize the discounted bath/cleaning services with the pack.

Happy Dogs is seriously the best. I took my pup to another place nearby, with which we had a relatively negative experience. Happy Dogs, on the other hand, has been nothing but incredible. The staff all know my pup by name, always offer him a treat when we leave, and are so sweet and happy to see him when we arrive. Sometimes, they even tell me something sweet that he did during his time when I come to pick up him up. We love (loveeee) Happy Dogs!

Happy Dogs has been one of the best things for us since getting Cleo. Cleo has some serious separation anxiety and the staff at Happy Dogs has been incredible. By the second week everyone knew her by name and were so attentive. Whenever we board her we get amazing update emails. The staff really make this place and we are incredibly grateful for all they do.

Frankie loves Happy Dogs and so do we! The staff are very professional, quick to respond to questions/emails, its a clean space and I love being able to check in on her via their webcam. My dog Lance loves Happy Dogs. As soon as he realizes were walking towards it, he starts pulling hard. Whenever I email about anything, theyre always super responsive and helpful. The check-in and check-out process is easy and seamless. Whenever I do check the live webcam, the employees are always on top of everything: cleaning up, breaking it up if the dogs are being too rowdy, and sometimes I even see them snuggling the little ones which makes me really happy to see--its obvious that everyone who works there loves animals. Plus I love all the photos they post on their Instagram!

Ive had an incredible experience with Happy Dogs over the past year. Happy Dogs has an unbelievable staff that keeps you in the loop 110% of the time. Theres been times where my dog has thrown up or had diarrhea and Ive always been informed immediately after the incident (and is often followed by a reassuring photo of my dog back in action). One time, I left my dog for an overnight stay and forgot her meds - without skipping a beat they went out to the store to pick up the right meds. Dropping her off, I always know she will be in good hands.The live camera is also a huge plus. And coupled with the frequent social posts, I never feel too far away from my dog.

Extensive registration form, make sure all the dogs are up to date on their vaccinations, and they set up a free day to take your dog to make sure they feel safe in the environment. My dog has so much energy and she’s always tired after daycare. They even have live cams set up if you want to keep tabs of your dog.

We’ve had our dog under the care of Happy Dogs since he was a puppy and can’t imagine a more friendly, professional, responsive and caring environment of our high-energy pup. We have used all of their services including daycare, boating, grooming and vaccinations—and they’ve all far exceeded our expectations. Our money is never better spent than with Happy Dogs—our dog is SO happy, as are we.

Happy Dogs is great. They are very serious about what they do and the place is very well run and reliable. Also very clean. Rye runs towards the door happy and gets home exhausted. Everyone knows Rye immediately when he walks in the door - which is impressive given they have +80 dogs there daily. They let us know when something is wrong (i.e. once notified us of loose stool) and are better than our vet in keeping us up to date on our vaccines (send us reminders when vaccines are expiring and we should go get new ones). Cameras are also great. Has really helped us out.

Happy Dogs is a great place for our puggle puppy Zoey who loves it very much! She can’t wait to join her friends and play with them all day long. We started taking Penny, our skittish rescue dog, to Happy Dogs from the very beginning when we brought her home. Luckily, we lived a stones throw away right by McCarren so the location was extremely convenient. We unfortunately moved away to SF for a few years but upon returning to NY, we just had to bring her back to Happy Dogs because she loves it so much. We dont even live in the neighborhood anymore - its actually a bit far, BUT what Penny wants, Penny gets :) The staff is incredible, service is amazing (seriously, fastest email correspondence ever) and the facilities are sparkling clean.

This place is amazing my puppy was out of control I’ve even hired 2 trainers to help and nothing until I found this place Happy Dogs. Sophia loves this place she gets excited when I mention it and I see such a big difference in her. She’s more calmer and better at home. We send our puppy to Happy Dogs frequently! We can watch him play with the other pups on the cameras, and the staff there are very nice and knowledgeable. We are very thankful to have Happy Dogs so close to our apartment, and our dog is too!

My dog Tennessee loves going to Happy Dogs. She goes for both daycare and boarding. I love getting to check in on her on the live cam throughout the day and when she is being boarded I get daily emails with a photo of her and status of her meals. The staff at Happy Dogs was incredibly kind - this review has nothing to do with the way my dog was treated - I’d give that 5 stars.When my brother and I both left our dogs at Happy Dogs while we were away, we were SHOCKED when we opened the web cam and saw how many dogs they squeezed into their tiny little boarding/day care area. It was smaller than my 1 bedroom greenpoint apartment and they had 20+ dogs romping around at a time. There was barely room for dogs to lie down without being trampled by the mob of dogs looking (unsuccessfully) for places to play. Mostly our pups just walked back and forth in the tiny room like humans pacing in a mental institution in the movies. For almost $100/night I was extremely disappointed in the accommodations and will not be bringing my dog back. He also came home with Kennel Cough (even though he is vaccinated against it) and took a few days to start acting like his old self. I’d look elsewhere and exhaust all other options before using Happy Dogs again.

We’ve been sending our dog Cash to daycare at Happy Dogs once a week for the last two years and I can’t say enough good things. The staff is super helpful and responsive. Cash always has a great time hanging with his friends when he goes. Throughout Covid, the staff was super responsive and continued to keep us updated on any changes with opening days, pick up and drop off etc. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Our pup Mosley started going to Happy Dogs in April when he was about 6 months old and we couldnt be more thankful to have Happy Dogs in our neighborhood. We live only a couple blocks away and HD has been a god send during this WFH period. Mosley gets so excited on HD days and comes home appropriately exhausted, which is very helpful to us. HD staff are extremely responsible, professional, and responsive. They are accommodating when possible but generally very strict with their policies, which we appreciate because we know that the policies are put in place to protect Mosley and the other pups. One piece of advice I would give to new pup owners bringing their dogs to HD for the first time is to give them a few visits to warm up to the experience. I think it took Mosley 3 or 4 visits before he felt at home there, he was a bit shy and hesitant at first. I would watch him on the video camera running away from other dogs and he would be hesitant on drop off days, which made me very worried at first because I really needed to be able to bring him to daycare. However, after the first few visits he would be ecstatic when he knew we were headed to HD and I would watch him on the camera running around to greet every dog like he was the mayor of the playroom.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE TO BOARDincredibly poor communication, condescending and rude staff (and owner), and unable to acceptable accountability or offer an apology for an objective mistake (all of which are similarly noted across multiple reviews)We went to Happy Dogs due to the numerous positive reviews and high average review, thinking that we would have a good experience. Yet we are extremely dissatisfied with their services and how their admin and owner treats (disrespects) customers: after dropping our dog off on Friday for a weekend out of the city, we received no word about how he was doing until Saturday at 4pm alerting us that he had not eaten either of his meals in a rather glib mimeographed email (e.g. he has not eaten anything; here is a picture of him; he sends his love). Upon asking for clarification twice in 3 hours, we heard nothing until the next day confirming that our dog did not eat a substantive meal for almost 2 whole days, and went nigh 36 hours without food.Upon emailing management asking for an explanation as to why we werent communicated with sooner (since no one picks up the phone number listed), they insisted they were in the right and the onus was on us: we were overreacting and did not properly communicate the urgency of the situation to them.We understand that because this was our dogs first time boarding, he might have been finicky when eating, but all we asked for is better and clearer communication. We were left confused, and needed clarity as to how our dog was being treated. In kind, we were condescended and admonished for expressing our frustration and had our membership terminated - which was the only good thing that they did. Please beware, read the other reviews, and utilize other pet services if feasible. Or simply save the $$$ and let your pet starve at home for free.As an aside, there are three other issues worth noting:1) They offer a live webcam of where your dog is. To our eyes, there were about 30 some dogs in what looked to be a fairly small room (it was difficult to estimate the dimensions, but it was no larger than 15 or 20 x 10 or 15). It was incredibly overcrowded in the common area, so ones imagination is left to wander what the areas that cant be seen look like and in what conditions the dog are kept in.2) Upon checkout, his harness was put on incorrectly, which indicates that the staff is fairly inexperienced in the most simple of tasks. Again, one wonders if this is being done incorrectly what else might be...3) After checking our dog out and getting him home, he was incredibly lethargic and not his normal, happy self, as he was likely traumatized by the experience. Whats more, he suddenly and inexplicably developed a case of diarrhea once he came home and had multiple accidents in the house (which had prior to never occurred). Again, I am not saying that this was their fault, but given that their feeding policy is if a dog doesnt eat the first time around, we save the meal and offer it again a couple hours later to see if theyve worked up an appetite by then. If they still dont eat, then we dispose of the food for hygiene reasons, and we use canned food, he very well could have eaten spoiled or otherwise contaminated food (after he had starved for two days and was hungry enough to eat anything).

Decent, if overcrowded, environment for our dog. That said, their customer service and ability to graciously receive customer feedback is awful. They allowed another dog to eat my dogs food and did not provide me the option of selecting a replacement meal, then expressed shock that I would be upset that my 6 month old dog went hours without eating. They then suggested that they were not the right partner to me after I informed them that I was unimpressed with the $3 discount they offered in compensation. If you care at all about customer service, maturity and integrity in your service providers, find another day care center.

Nando loves spending time at Happy Dogs - He pulls at the leash when we get close to the door, hes so excited to play with his pals! Happy Dogs also gives Nando his baths, and he smells SO good afterwards.

Happy Dogs gives me peace of mind when I need to leave my puppy in someone elses hands for a day. Jennifer and her team are so kind and caring. My pup starts wagging her tail when we reach the Happy Dogs block, and she doesnt stop all day-- I can tell because they have a doggie cam where I can see the doggies at play all day. I tried a couple of other daycare places in the neighborhood and none made me feel so secure and cared so much about my little beast. Their Facebook page is very active, and I find myself looking at that days album even if my doggie wasnt there that day. Thank you, Happy Dogs!

We boarded our puppy last weekend and another dog ate her food - so instead of feeding our dog with the extra food they have onsite, they simply let our puppy go hungry!!!They e-mailed us saying that our puppy will need more kibble when she gets home! Never offered to feed her and when we complained, they told us that mistakes happen and that we (the parents/ customers) needed to work with them as partners.Cannot believe they couldnt take responsibility for something so simple, and I cannot trust that they are taking good appropriate care of my puppy.Will not trust them with out pet in the future.

We love Happy Dogs and so does our terrier Daisy! The team is so wonderful and take the very best care of our girl. It gives us such peace of mind to know that Daisy is looked after by such a kind and accommodating group of people!

Happy Dogs is the best doggy daycare in Brooklyn - clean facility, friendly staff, convenient hours, and most importantly our pup loves coming here! They also are the only spot in the area that I know of that has a live video feed so you can watch during the day :)

We tried pretty much all the other dog daycares in the neighborhood and for some reason our relatively peaceful (unless youre a skateboarder or a cat) hound kept getting into scraps. Not all the time, but occasionally. We were even asked to not show up to one for a week. It was confounding because shes so chill otherwise. So is it her or is it the place? We try Happy Dogs. And its been a year and a half without any incident. They have a nice manual they give you at the beginning, explaining what they do and how they work. Everybody in the backroom gets training and can groom, so if the cost seems a little high at first, its because they put care into their employees. Itll save you money and time in the long run.

I have been bringing my dog, Kenji, to Happy Dogs for over 6 months now. Having brought him to several different day cares in the past, I can say that Happy Dogs is the best we have experienced. They are responsive, easy to deal with, and Kenji always leaves as a very happy pup. We are very satisfied customers!

My dog, Birdie, has been going to Happy Dogs (McCarren park location) for about a year now and we couldn’t be happier! Birdie absolutely loves the staff and I know the feeling is mutual! Its so comforting knowing she’s in a safe and caring place when we’re not around.

DAYCARE - My frenchie seems to love it! The staff is incredibly attentive in the messages and emails, the cameras are great for monitoring and I am very happy with the overall service - they are very thorough in the screening process as well. We just started the daycare 1x/week but so far it is great.

Avoid this place, they have no concept of customer service. I needed to board my Mothers dog who was unexpectedly coming into the city today. I was aware they required an evaluation, so I called to make an appointment whereupon I was told that even if the dog passed, due to their ridiculous and byzantine registration process, they were unable to evaluate and board a dog on the same day. Apparently even though they know whether a dog passes or fails the evaluation immediately, they are are unable to actually act on this information for at least 24 hours. The way they break the news to you in the, Aww, its cute you thought wed do something that might be convenient for you way is even more infuriating.

Happy Dogs lives up to its name! If we get anywhere near this place, our dog gets excited. The staff is responsive both on email and phone, and their web site makes it easy to manage check in and check out.

My pup Tela loves going to Happy Dogs at McCarren Park! Weve sent her to daycare and boarded her here several times now and we couldnt be happier with how they care for Tela and their transparency. We loved getting the pupdates daily when we were on vacation with pictures to know that our furchild was being looked after and having the best time. Shes gotten sick at daycare before and the staff was so thorough, we got pictures and several updates with how she was doing. There was another time they noticed a scratch on her (which we already knew of from the dog park) and they emailed us letting us know with pictures. They also monitor play really well here, its so nice to know shes getting a lot of high quality socialization with dogs of all shapes and sizes when she goes to daycare. I Highly recommend Happy Dogs!

Its a mile and a half from my home but after lots of research, nothing seemed comparable to Happy Dogs!

Is there a way to give a place -00000 stars? Im writing this as a reminder to all fur baby parents that if you care and love your baby, DO NOT LEAVE THEM HERE. I just had a wonderful experience with another boarding place and it reminded me how horrible our time at Happy Dogs was. HD gave us PTSD in doggy boarding and we refused to do any other boarding for years until now (2021). They forgot to feed my dog the last meals of her boarding stay and then blamed it on us saying that our friend who picked up our dog was responsible since he had dropped her off with less food which is false because I even packed a whole ton of emergency backup food in my dogs bag just in case (anxious mom here). Everything was labeled too. Different zip lock baggies for her breakfast lunch and dinner (one designated bag for EVERY meal of her stay - how do you mess that up!?!?). We got lucky because our friend previously owned a dog before and he recognized our dog was in distress when she was picked up so he eventually fed her and apparently my dog DEVOURED the food. She also came back smelling like a true street dog, just HORRID. I think the worst of it all was how it was handled by this establishment. The fact they were not apologetic and they continued to blame us even after i showed them receipts of previous convos where they had AGREED to the specific/detailed feeding instructions i had on email. PLEASE, I BEG YOU, GO TAKE YOUR DOG ELSEWHERE.

I have been taking my puppy to Happy Dogs at McCarren park since July. I initially called up many places and had planned to take my dog closer to where I live. But happy dogs impressed me since the very beginning with their professionalism and excellent customer service.Being a working pawrents, daycare is essential. Happy dogs have always been very responsive and accommodating. From vaccination records to sorting out payment, happy dogs have really exceeded my expectations in all aspects. My dog loves going there so much- and he is always exhausted when he comes home! He loves the staff and the dogs there!!They also don’t charge for feeding which is wonderful. I know some places will charge you for feeding your dog at daycare even if you don’t bring your own food, which is ridiculous.I highly recommend Happy Dogs! That is where my dog will continue to go (daycare and boarding) !! They are truly wonderful!

Our golden retriever, Summer, loves Happy Dogs, as evidenced by her dragging us in every time were close by. The staff are extremely friendly and know both Summer and me. I have been bringing my pup here for the past 4 months and have had the best experience. The employees know her personally and I know shes in good hands when shes there. Their member site makes it super easy to keep track of everything and I love snooping on my pup on the live feed.

You should not bring your dog to this establishment. They gave away my dog the wrong owner and we’re quite insensitive about the entire process.When I went to get my dog, the staff was extremely young and clearly does not have a robust system in order to identify dogs and give to their owners. When they brought me “my dog” I told them it wasn’t mine… they proceeded to tell me I was wrong.After about 20 minutes when they didn’t come out nor let me inside, they began bringing other dogs out and ignoring me. I finally went inside and banged on the door and demanded answers in which they let me know my dog was given to a wrong owner.This happened to be a few months back and I tried to make amends and understand what policies were put into place and it seems they have done nothing. BEWARE AND PLEASE DO NOT YOUR BRING PUP HERE

We have been brining our babies to Happy Dogs for a couple of years and we are so happy with their service. The staff is incredible, the updates are informative, and the ability to watch our girls on camera saves a lot of stress. Im always impressed that the staff knows our girls by name! Our girls always run right in and give the staff kisses. You know thats a good sign. The staff takes their job seriously and they care about all of the dogs and their health and safety.

I simply love Happy Dogs!I take my pup there 2-3 times a week for daycare, and regularly for baths.Last week, I tried boarding for the first time and it was great.All the staff are very attentive and caring, they always know your pups name!!Its also great that they have live camera feed on their website through which you can spy on your pup in daycare.I always spent hours watching my dog through my phone while she was in daycare! Its so fun to see her run around having fun with other pups!Great service and truly a happy dogs place.

We love Happy Dogs! The staff is extremely professional, helpful and always prompt with their responses. They provide a live stream throughout the day so you can check in on your pup, which adds to the security of knowing our dog is in great hands. Highly recommend Happy Dogs to any dog parent!

We started bringing our puppy to Happy Dogs in April for once a week and we have nothing but good things to say about our experiences with them so far. They have been extremely accommodating to our few scheduling conflicts and our puppy absolutely loves it there. Also its great being able to watch him on the live stream, its always the highlight of my day. I highly recommend HD.

They have taken great care of our dog for nearly his entire life -- its his home away from home. He literally wags his tail as he walks through the door every morning, never looking back at us when we drop him off. We honestly feel as if he gets as much love and care at Happy Dogs as he gets at home.High Recommend.

This is hands down the best place that I have ever sent my dog Scout for doggie daycare. The team is so kind and friendly! The back office is responsive and thoughtful. Scout has loved every day she has spent there and will pull me to the door once she realizes where we are headed. I cannot recommend this place enough and if youre on the fence about trying it out, I encourage you 100%. You (and your doggo) wont be sorry!

We have been taking our now 1 year old pup to Happy for about 8 months now almost every day m-f, and she absolutely loves it there! She is a bit on the anxious side, so it has just been so great for her to get to know all the lovely people that work at Happy Dogs as well as get to hang out with her pack buddies all day while we are at work. We are so happy to have found them and even better its only a 5 minute walk from home! Thanks for taking such good care of Frankie girl :)

Boarded our 8 month old puppy here and had a wonderful experience! They even worked with us to get his behavior assessment done last minute and were so accommodating. I just picked him up and he is exhausted in the best way possible; not to mention he seems to be better trained than when we dropped him off a week ago. Thanks Happy Dogs!

I came across Happy Dogs at McCarren Park daycare a little over a month ago when we needed someone to watch our puppy for a day and the only family members willing to do it, were more than a few hours away. At first, I wasnt sure what to expect, I had never left our puppy at a daycare and right away I was surprised at the very user friendly website. Because of COVID, the entire process is contactless and I thought that was going to be a bit difficult because I am the type to walk into a place, get a feel for the environment, customer service is very important to me and I also wanted to make sure our baby was going to be safe. I love that you have to fill out a questionnaire and sign waivers of all their policies and procedures, everything I had a question about, was explained in detail. So once registered, I had to drop our pet for a behavior assessment, that was nerve racking because our baby is still a puppy and while we have been training her, she can be rambunctious and too energetic for some. But our baby pulled through and within an hour, we heard that she was part of the pack and we could start using the facility. One of my favorite features of leaving her there for the day, is the live cam that I can check out from my phone at any time. Its been over a month that weve been leaving her there at least once per week and she always comes back so happy and exhausted (so good for us on busy days or when its too cold outside for dog walks). We are very happy with the service and plan to continue bringing her there for the foreseeable future.

Weve been using Happy Dogs for almost a year now and we have nothing but love for them! Our dog loves them too! So much so that if were in a five block radius hell start to pull us there wagging his tail. Our work schedules are sporadic so were never sure when we need to use them for daycare but theyre so accommodating in terms of just letting you drop of your dog whenever, and will do last minute pick-ups and drop-offs. Ive even had to email late at night asking for a pick-up for daycare when I knew last minute id have to leave for work earlier than they open and even late at night the owner promptly responds that its not a problem.My boyfriend and I both love the atmosphere in there as well. We feel as if all the staff know us and know our dog and theyre all super friendly. Additionally, all the staff seem to be incredibly experienced with dogs and very professional on top of being really friendly.Regarding the facility, its great that the dogs can run outside in the outside area during the day and we love that theres a dog referee in watching over the play since our pup is so high energy-it makes us feel at ease that hes being properly cared for and watched throughout the day. Also, they have a webcam so you can log in from work and watch your dog playing which I think is great. Another added service they do that I like is taking pictures of the dogs throughout the day playing and upload them to facebook and they show you the photos of your dog when you come to get them at the end of the day sometimes. Also, theyre super clean in the daycare area which is good. And, whenever I need help with anything else like dog food or dog accessories, the staff is really helpful and know what theyre talking about.We recently popped in another daycare joint closer to us just to check it out and we both thought immediately that it didnt compare to Happy Dogs and we just wouldnt feel comfortable leaving our pup there the way we do with Happy Dogs. I highly recommend them and we wouldnt leave our precious boy with anyone else!
