I couldnt be happier with my experience at HI-BK. From the moment I walked in, I could tell my dog would be in great hands. The staff is incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely loves animals. They take the time to get to know each dog’s unique personality, and it’s clear they’re passionate about providing a safe and fun environment.We recently moved away but my dog absolutely loved going to this daycare. Once he knew where we were headed he would get so excited. The facility is clean, well-organized, and equipped with plenty of space for dogs to play and socialize.It is evident that HI-BK goes above and beyond to ensure all the dogs are well-cared for. I’ve always felt at ease leaving my dog in their care. Highly recommend!

Out of all the doggie daycares in our area, HI-BK was the only one where our pup, Toby, would be visibly excited about. He’s attended this daycare since they opened and had zero issues.The actual space itself is large, clean, and thoughtfully designed with curated items for sale. They would also occasionally have pop-up events for the holidays or to support small business owners like the custom dog necklace one that I had to go to because it was so unique.Whenever we had to be out of town, we would board Toby at HI-BK because we knew he would be safe and cared for by Richmond, Geraldine, and their staff. Richmond and Geraldine have practically seen Toby grow up (although he still stayed small in size) and he adores them so you know they’re doing something right.If you’re looking for a doggie daycare in downtown Brooklyn, look no further because this is it!

We have been taking our dog Feta to Hi-BK since she was 6 months old, and we have had nothing but the best experiences, whether for daycare, boarding, or grooming. Even though we moved to Manhattan a couple years ago, we have continued taking Feta there, because we have not found anywhere else that we trust to take as good of care of our dog. They do a wonderful job of slowly acclimating your dog to daycare and boarding, which we have not seen elsewhere.Feta has resisted going to other daycares we have tried out, but she always runs to Hi-BK. I could not recommend them more highly. And in particular we try to schedule daycare when Sunny is available for nail trims because they always turn out great!

HI-BK is such an amazing doggie daycare & more. Shiloh has been going to HI-BK for many months now for daycare, grooming & training.Unlike many other doggie daycares, HI-BK seems to really put the well being of your dog first. I have had experiences at other facilities where a bunch of dogs are just thrown in a room together with no regard for their comfort level, play-style or emotional well being. I love that at HI-BK they are on top of the dogs’ body language and behavior to prevent any potential hazardous situations. Additionally, I love that good behavior is encouraged and rewarded throughout the day. It appears that each handler wears a treat pouch and are actively engaging the dogs whenever possible, instead of them playing aimlessly all day. Furthermore, I love that they ensure that dogs are given breaks. Specifically for Shiloh who frequently stays for a full day of daycare- he can become over stimulated resulting in excessive barking and anxiousness, which is always met with a solution from the staff at HI-BK (such as removing him from the group and even taking him outside if necessary which I GREATLY appreciate). I could go on and on, but the final thing is that I LOVE their honestly. I love that Rich and Geraldine are able to provide me with specific information on Shiloh’s behavior that day, whether it be good or not-so-good, because then I am aware of what I need to address as a dog owner. Since Shiloh isn’t able to tell me if he had a rough day, it’s great that I can trust his daycare to let me know.Aside from daycare, we also entrust Rosemary from at HI-BK with Shiloh’s grooming and she is AMAZING (photos attached are after his most recent grooming session). His paws are always perfectly trimmed, as well as the rest of his body while still maintaining his natural “golden” coat. My favorite is how she trims his ears to perfectly frame the shape of the ear while still looking super natural. Also the fresh smell of shampoo lasts for dayssss! He never seems stressed or unhappy after being groomed and Rosemary is so loving and passionate about her talent as a groomer.Lastly, we have worked with Sandy a few times for private at-home training for some concerns that have popped up during Shiloh’s maturation from puppyhood to adulthood. Each hour-long session provided so much helpful information and solutions that actually worked (of course given the day to day implementation of the strategies after her visits). I love that she is truly a positive-based trainer and listens to concerns and tailors her sessions to your dog’s specific needs.This is probably the longest review I’ve ever written, but I’m super passionate about the care of Shiloh and wanted to document it! He loves Rich, Geraldine and all the staff at HI-BK. He lights up when he sees them, wags his tail and gives them so much love (unlike shying away with a tucked tail as I’ve seen happen at other facilities). Our pups can’t talk, but relying on honestly from HI-BK and Shiloh’s reaction is all I need :)

HI-BK is the best daycare in the Ft Greene and Downtown Brooklyn area. The level of care and attention given to all the dogs is on another level. I know when my dog Emmy is at HI-BK, I can trust that she is safe and having a good time with her doggy and human pals. Rich and the rest of the team at HI-BK are wonderful…they have great communication with dog parents and will always keep you posted with how the day went, along with any relevant notes. Very thankful for this place and team of people.

I cannot recommend HI-BK enough. We have a young (4.5 month old) aussie who is an absolute love, but sometimes he needs a little more confidence-building, so we decided to give daycare a shot in hopes it helps him learn how to dog AND gives his humans some respite. We tried a location around the corner from our apartment in Prospect Heights and had a TERRIBLE experience, where we had to immediately pull Tato out based on their poor integration of him into their daycare group. That same week we decided to give HI-BK a try, despite the long walk, and holy moly how happy weve been.I sent the owners a concerned email in preparation for our daycare day, asking how they plan to integrate Tato, and instead of sending a cold email back they immediately called me over the phone and we spoke for almost half an hour. They assured me how they plan to help him get settled, that someone would be watching him the entire time, and that they would go at his pace. What they said over the phone matched up EXACTLY to what happened the following day. One of the staff stayed with Tato as he got used to the space -- they slowly introduced pups to him -- and eventually he was romping around with fewer worries. Fast forward to today, day 3 of daycare, and hes passed out next to me as I write this review, after being an absolute menace and playing with all-the-puppers. They said hes acting like a completely different dog -- more confident than ever! This is all thanks to their patience, care, and understanding.Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Friendly and helpful staff and such a welcoming environment for our new puppy! We really value their way of caring for dogs not only based on their specific breed/age/size but also temperament and play style.Also highly recommend their puppy training classes! The puppy training classes are a small class size makes in a perfectly balanced environment that is stimulating yet structured for your puppy and their specific needs. Sandy the trainer is very accommodating and her class is so informative for new puppy parents!

We truly love this place and couldn’t recommend it more. Top 0.1% of any dog services businesses in NYC. Our two dogs (beagle and mini dachshund) have been going to HI BK since it opened, and we have done day care, boarding and puppy training classes at HI BK. Both of our dogs adore and are always excited to see Rich and his staff.The HI BK team are quick to respond over phone or email, always have clean facilities, maintain all the policies (required vaccines, temperament tests, etc.) a responsible owner would expect for top tier care, have an easy online booking system, and convenient location and hours.Rich and his team are incredibly attuned to the needs of the individual dogs in their care (for example, when dogs need quiet time vs group play), prioritize each dog’s safety and well-being, and remember little details about your individual dog’s quirks and personality. They have really created a loving community of dog parents and pups. Basically this is the only place we trust with our dogs, and I’m actually heart broken to be moving cross country because I know we won’t find anything as good as this! Very grateful to have had them in our dogs’ lives.

I love Hi-BK! My senior dog was gently cared for when he went the last 8 months of his life. Had his favorite cuddle buddies and despite being a generally anxious dog, was always calm and happy to go to daycare and his “extra” needs were met during boarding. I now have a mostly timid puppy who goes regularly and she adores the team there. They take such good care, really care about the well being of their dogs. They are cautious, sometimes more cautious than I am, to make sure my dogs have been comfortable and well adjusted. I’m So thankful for Rich, the team and all the furry companions that have made daycare such a positive experience for my puppies and for me.

We took our dog to HI-BK not too long after it first opened. Our dog was a young puppy at the time and it was her first experience going to any kind of daycare, so although she was nervous at first she quickly came to love the dogs and staff there. The staff is incredibly diligent about how they introduce your dog, make sure both your dog and others are well behaved during playtime, and they keep very close guard throughout the day. For overnight visits, our dog had a tough time adjusting at first, but the team was always incredibly patient and caring with her.Our dog came to love her daycare visits and would always pull on her leash as soon as she knew we were taking her there. We cannot more strongly recommend HI-BK to anyone in the market for a doggy daycare, and were incredibly appreciate of the support the team there has provided us and our dog.

When we first came to Hi-bk with our dog Fig it was on a suggestion from a behavior specialist to use daycare to help with mild separation anxiety. Everyone at Hi-bk was very welcoming, and Fig loved it!As we worked on Fig’s separation anxiety we wanted to try boarding him. The first attempt was really hard on him, so much so that we stopped trying boarding for a year. Eventually we tried again but this time asked Richmond if we could build up to it over time. Richmond was very accommodating and the team worked with Fig in his daycare sessions to get comfortable in the kennels. By his next overnight stay he was much better. Now he stays there any time with no problems!We can’t express how grateful we are - it’s made our lives so much easier and we’re so glad Fig has a place to stay or hang out where he’s happy and comfortable. We love that Hi-bk is in the neighborhood and love being part of the Hi-bk community.

HI-BK is truly an incredible place. My partner and I started bringing our high-energy and rambunctious dog Gus when he was ~9 months old. When we first started bringing him the employees let us know that he plays the entire time he is there but sometimes does not take signals from other dogs who are telling him they want a break. We were worried that this was going to be a problem, but HI-BK has truly helped him learn to take breaks and respect other dogs signals. He is now a little over 1 year old and is THRILLED going to daycare whenever we bring him in. Once he realizes we are going to daycare, he pulls and squeaks the entire way there. The staff are always so sweet and willing to answer any questions and always responsive via phone or email. The daycare itself is incredibly clean and I never worry about anything when he is there. I am sure that he is still a handful when he is there (as he is still obsessed with dogs), but the staff always makes sure to match him with dogs with similar play-style and make him take breaks if he is overstimulated. He always comes home happily tired, smelling clean, and Im sure dreaming about the next time he can go to HI-BK. It truly has been such a great place for him and I honestly think has made him less obsessed with saying hi to every dog on the street because he gets that at HI-BK twice a week! I am very thankful to have HI-BK as a resource and would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I filled out an inquiry and wrote a detailed description of my “energetic” 2 year old dog, and never got a response. Since it is the closest daycare/boarding/grooming facility near me, I thought I’d follow up with a phone call. But in reading the critical reviews from people with puppies and high energy dogs, I suppose it’s easier to look elsewhere. He has been in doggy daycare and has a trainer, but is not docile. It’s understandable that a facility would prefer easy dogs, but disappointing to not hear back.

Ive gone back and forth on writing a review, but after seeing Michelles review, I feel compelled to chime in, as I had a similarly negative experience with Rich.I brought in my dog for a temperament test, which was a positive experience. For context, my dog has regularly attended daycare for nearly 5 years prior to HI-BK. He attended two different daycares and absolutely loved going to both. While my dog is timid by nature, daycare has been a godsend in helping him open up and interact with other dogs. His past daycares have said that he adjusted very quickly and became much more comfortable after his first full day. Given that HI-BK was a new place, my dog was naturally anxious at first, but I expected that he would adapt quickly as hes done in the past. I was also reassured by one of the handlers at drop-off that they have a separate play area upstairs where they play classical music for more anxious pups. This sounded great and it definitely seemed like they were committed to accommodating dogs of all temperaments, which I’m sure all dog parents can appreciate.At pickup, the handler shared positive feedback with me, which was also noted in his report card (verbatims: calm, quiet, sweet, observing, curious... started exploring the space but seemed unsure, yet not too nervous... joined main dog run and didnt hesitate to enter... settled in quickly and laid down on dog bed or crate to watch the other dogs). Like Michelle mentioned in her review, nothing was presented as a problem. The one recommendation they shared was to bring him in for half-days on non-peak days to ease him into daycare. Though I understood why they may have given me this reco, I did not feel like this was really necessary given my dog’s positive experiences at his past daycares and the fact that this has never been recommended for him. Additionally, dropping off our dog for half-days is not something my husband and I can realistically do, as we both work from the office during the week. Even if one of us WFH one day, we would just keep our dog at home, like many people do.Since my dog passed the test, my next step was to call HI-BK to book my dog for his first full day. This was when things took a downturn. I recognized it was Rich on the phone- when I provided him with my dog’s name to pull up my account, he immediately told me that he does not recommend bringing my dog in for a full-day because “all his report card says is that he was nothing but nervous”. This was incredibly bewildering because the report card clearly did not say that. Even if he was nervous, I was reassured by the handler that they could put my dog in a calmer, separate play area upstairs if needed. I explained to Rich that my dog was obviously nervous because he had never been there before, but that this has never been an issue at his past daycares where I brought him in for full days right off the bat. In response, Rich says to me with an attitude, “Well if you want to bring him in for the full-day, then by all means go ahead, but if he starts showing signs of being stressed, we have the right to cut his day to a half day and you will need to come pick him up”. I did not appreciate his tone or response at all and it was clear that he was not willing to deal with what he deemed as bothersome” behavior. They may claim to accommodate different temperaments, but it’s clear that they want dogs with specific personalities- dogs that arent “too much” whether it’s excited, anxious, barky, etc.t’s truly a shame because the facility itself is nice and well-maintained. The dogs did look happy and they do provide fun photos and videos of your dog in the report card. The handler I spoke with was very sweet and kind, but the whole experience was marred by Rich, who appears to be the common denominator in most of the negative reviews posted here. With that, we have decided to take our dog elsewhere where he has adjusted well after just two days of full day daycare.

Hi-BK is the absolute best daycare Ive ever been to. I tried multiple daycares around the area and my puppy was always scared / hesitant to go in. With Hi-BK, she immediately felt comfortable and would start pulling in excitement when we got nearby. She always came home happy, exhausted, and clean. I would 100% recommend anyone with a dog use Hi-BK for daycare!

Ran into the owner Geraldine couple of weeks ago and stopped by their retail shop & absolutely fell in love! My puppy Haru enjoyed the toy and especially the cute water bowl! Haru loves his new water bowl so much that he started to drink more water! I also appreciated that all of their products are from local small businesses - not to mention they are sooo adorable!We just participated their puppy group class this past weekend and had a blast! Thank you Rich & Geraldine for offering in person puppy group training during COVID!! The class is well structured, you get a lot of attention from the trainers being it is a super small class. We also felt very safe because class size is super small, only one owner per puppy is allowed in, and face mask at all time during class. The store & daycare are super clean, well decorated, and homey! We can’t wait for our next puppy class and next visit so I can spoil my pup with some more treats and toys!

Our dog has been coming to Hi-Bk multiple times a week for daycare, puppy + training classes, boarding, and for the retail selection since he was 12 weeks old.The team at Hi-Bk are second to none and I cant recommend the facilities and approach to caring for the dogs enough. Lincoln, our dog, is consistently complimented for how well socialized and behaved he is and I credit the training infrastructure at Hi-Bk and the ongoing interaction with the team he receives while in daycare for most of that.The team is highly engaged, observant of myriad behavioral needs and temperaments, and is rigorous with all their vaccination and health requirements. Ive been reminded, more than once, by Hi-Bk that Lincoln is due for vaccinations before my (also great) vet gives me notice. All of this to say that I am not only comfortable with leaving Lincoln at Hi-BK but also confident that he is receiving the best possible experience.Ive actually considered renewing my lease to stay closer to the daycare (especially so given how often I use their services) and would recommend anyone looking to train, board or have their dogs taken care of on a daily basis invest in Hi-Bk.

Our dog loves coming here! She basically drags us the entire walk over just to get here faster. They update their instagram with cute photos of the dogs sitting, sleeping and playing all day. Our dog is a high-energy pup, but always comes home nice and mellow after playing all day. They also give you an update when you pick your dog up on how they did all day, which is always nice and reassuring. The staff is super friendly and always responsive and helpful!

Can’t say enough good things at Hi-BK! My dog is very shy, and he quickly warmed up to the caring and attentive staff. I can tell he feels safe and happy whenever I drop him off. It gives me peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands.

HI-BK is the best! They take great care of our corgi Parker. He is generally shy with people but loves everybody there. Every time we go out for a walk Parker tries to drag us there!I could not recommend them more!

I really can’t say enough good things about HI-BK. I’ve been bringing my dog Stevie there for the last year for both daycare and boarding, and she loves it.Stevie was very shy and fearful when we first rescued her, and during her first few weeks at daycare. The HIBK team was so patient, sweet, and helpful with her, pretty soon she warmed up to the counselors and started playing with the other dogs. I never imagined she’d be so happy at a daycare, and I’m thrilled with her social progress.HIBK does all the details right in terms of clean facilities, safety, and health measures. This includes a rigorous on-boarding process for new dogs which was a little intimidating as a first time dog owner. But knowing how serious they are about health and safety gives me incredible peace of mind. Their facilities are so spotless, I swear sometimes Stevie comes home smelling better than when I dropped her off lol!I’m so glad we found HIBK. They treat my sweet Stevie like family, and we love being part of the HIBK Ohana :)

Rich and Geraldine have built an amazing place at HI-BK! They’ve helped us out in so many ways with our new puppy while we’ve navigated this crazy year: daycare, puppy classes, in-home training— and we will definitely board here when the time comes. They put a ton of care and individual attention into working with each dog, and really take the time to get to know people and build a community, too. They have great toys and treats for sale, and do frequent events and pop-ups for all things dog-related (and they often keep you posted with Instagram shots of the dogs while you aren’t around!)

Our dog loves hi-bk. Even drags us there on days when he doesn’t have daycare. Staff is very attentive and makes sure that every dog has a comfortable setting to play and rest. Highly recommended for their daycare and boarding. Their retail section up front also has some high quality, bespoke and hard to find items.

During the pandemic, my lady and I got a got a puppy. We didnt realize how much love, work, and attention Lincoln would need. Thankfully, we found HI BK, which is - respectuflly!- the greatest Doggy Day Care in Ft. Greene.They care about their customers as well as the dog. Ive used their half day, full day, lodging and training classes for Lincoln. During the Holiday break, wed get compliments on how well Lincoln interacts with other dogs, listens to our commands, and his loveable demeanor.Honestly, I want to to take all responsibility for how great our pup is, but I must say HI BK professionalism and care contributed more than they know.Its a really great place for your pup and if youre still curious, check out their IG. Youll probably see Lincoln smiling, because thats what happens there. ✌🏽

I havent used their services but I came in for a pop up of The Puppercup and I was introduced to the owner of HI-BK and she was so lovely. They offer a nice assortment of toys and treats and she mentioned they do boarding and grooming. The facility itself was beautiful and the dogs that were inside looked to be well taken care of.

This hidden gem in Brooklyn will be every dog lovers new favorite go to! My sister in Hawaii found them on insta and sent us a link to go check them out on the weekend. That exact weekend we took a drive into Brooklyn with our pup and surely we’re not disappointed! We met one of the owners who took the time to let us in even though he was on his way out for the day; which won us over to begin with. Once you walk in, you just fall in love with the aesthetics of the place. It really is a slice of Hawaii in New York. The owner’s hospitality the entire time was one we will never forget. We walked out with a collar,leash, and zippered baggy holder because the items felt durable and worth the price. This owner let us take our time going through items and answered all questions we had. I never once felt rushed out of the place and our dog loved him! We will be back for sure!

A doggy daycare that does things right. They genuinely care about the dogs and put the dogs above everything else. Dogs have to be well-trained to attend, and the staff go above in beyond in playing with the dogs.The boarding is also amazing. You can reserve a room with a camera and see the owner walk the dog and then cuddle for a while.

Amazing staff and a great facility. Currently they are the one of the few facilities in the Downtown Brooklyn area which offers weekend daycare and overnight boarding, which is a great plus at this time.Prices are also surprisingly reasonable for the level of services offered. We have been bringing our dog in for a few weeks and will continue to do so in the future.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like my little girl Hattie was going to be cared for here. They really have become part of our family, our ohana. We use their daycare and boarding services for our medium sized pointer mix rescue. Rich and Geraldine just love on all their doggos and you and your dog are sure to have a great experience here.The space is immaculate. They help you keep tabs on your pupper with frequent updates to their IG story. The online portal is super handy for scheduling visits and services. We are just big fans of this unique local business and can’t recommend it enough.

HI-BK is an amazing place for puppy classes and pet grooming. All of the trainers and groomers are friendly and talented. They enforce COVID-19 precautions--which is a relief.I unfortunately can no longer go to HI-BK because I moved out of the city, but they will be missed by both me and my puppy Cowboy.

If I could give HI-BK 20 stars I would. A++ for excellent EVERYTHING!!!Location is convenient, not too far from the BQE. Also easily accessible via subway. I drive in from Queens and it’s worth the trip every time. If you can’t find street parking there is a garage but I’ve never had to.Facility is CLEAN, ORGANIZED and SAFE. The retail section has lots of great items, most of which can’t be found in giant chains. The front area is closed off so no one can enter/exit unless it’s authorized, which I find to be completely SAFE. The play/training area is spacious enough to allow many dogs to run comfortably. The boarding rooms are like little luxury hotel rooms. Overall the facility is very well done and spacious enough to accommodate even the strictest of COVID-19 guidelines.Puppy training = SUPERB. Trainer Sandy and her team looked at each puppy individually even though we were in a group. My Luna was scared so they let us go at our own pace, even sectioned off an area so she can meet new friends slowly. There wasn’t a question Sandy couldn’t answer - she is so knowledgeable, it’s like she was reading my mind!Grooming = Our best experience ever! Uliana took the time to talk to us before starting her work. I can tell she was gentle b/c Luna came out super happy. (Up until now we’ve had lackluster service at other places so you can imagine how relieved I was when she came out with a smile!) Plus whatever products they used smelled great and her coat was unbelievably silky smooth.Communication = Owners actually call, text, email you - it’s a human talking to another human, which I appreciate. They’re proactive about great customer service and treat each dog like family. And their social media is active and super adorable - if I’m having a bad day their IG stories always cheer me up.I can write more, but this review is becoming a novel so I will say 10/10 would definitely recommend HI-BK.

I’ve been bringing my mini doxie Honeynut to Hi-bk since she was 5 months old! I love that Hi-bk mixes bigs + littles, because although honey is small she loveees playing with the bigger pups! The folks at hi-bk always play close attention to make sure everyone is playing nice and I feel super comfortable that Honey is in good hands

Terrible experience trying to get our dog “in” to this place. We recently moved here from Europe therefore our dogs vaccines were in her European passport. HiBK said they couldn’t accept this despite the fact we got a written letter from our US vet that our dogs vaccines were correct. It was clear from the emails they were being very difficult and picky unnecessarily. We now have her in another daycare close by where this wasn’t an issue.

My dog loves it here and so do I! All the products are cute, well-curated and hard to find elsewhere in NYC. We get our much needed dose of island paradise and aloha from the owners - theyre awesome. My go-to for all things doggy daycare related. So glad I found them!

We loved having our dog here for daycare. The staff was professional, provided constructive feedback as our puppy got a little older, was always friendly and prompt! Wish I could give them more than five stars.

Got a leash from here. Its very pretty, soft and comfortable. The store has very high quality, carefully curated products. And the big open window makes it easy to see dogs at play. Cant wait for them to open the daycare soon!

At long last a clean and safe doggy day care in the neighborhood. Conveniently located next to a coffee shop. Owners Rich and Geraldine are professional and caring. Looking forward to sending our dog here for peace of mind!

The BEST dog daycare in the neighborhood. My 6-month old puppy, Mac, loves going to play with his friends, and I know that every member of the HI-BK team cares about him and his well-being. Theyre thoughtful about how they introduce new puppies to the group/how long puppies can or should hang out, and they always offer a nice report at the end of the day to share who Mac was playing with and what he was up to, including some recommendations on anything we can be working on with his training at home. I am confident that Mac is safe, happy, and very well cared for while hes there. Huge bonus: the place is SO clean, no overwhelming dog or chemical smell!Mac is always exhausted (in the best way) when he comes home from HI-BK, and gets so excited when were approaching the door. I know he loves it, and so do I!

We have been taking our dog to hi-bk since he was 6 months old (and took their puppy classes!) They introduce dogs safely and are always making sure both your dog and those around them are well behaved during playtime, giving them play breaks if they need. I also appreciate that the staff is diligent in making sure everyone is up-to-date with vaccinations. It really feels that the owners and staff truly care about the dogs well being. Our pupper always pull on his leash when he knows were close to hibk and I feel like we cant move out of the neighborhood because we cant lose hi-bk!

The best doggy daycare and the only one I trust with my dog. They are excellently run, and ensure the utmost safety for the dogs. Cannot recommend them enough!

I cannot recommend HI-BK strongly enough. Daycare would not have been a possibility for our pup without the incredible patience and compassion Rich & Geraldine, trainer Sandy, and the entire staff at HI-BK have shown him. Even as a young pup he was often fearful and anxious, and particularly sound sensitive. Over the course of almost a year, they helped us build his confidence as we slowly introduced him to all of the sights, smells, and sounds of daycare. Today he not only passed his temperament test, but begged to go right back inside after he left. Thank you HI-BK!!!

My husband & I chose Hi-BK b/c on paper they ticked all the boxes. Our puppy passed the temperament test so we assumed that the staff were willing to accommodate him & help him navigate daycare. I wish they had been honest that they preferred calmer dogs instead of energetic puppies. It would have saved all of us the heartache & discomfort.When my 8 m/o Lab puppy finished his temperament test over a month ago, they said he had a lot of puppy energy but we could keep bringing him. His daycare experience seemed to go well overall. The only comments were his energy & play style. Nothing was presented as a problem. He never showed any aggression according to Hi-BK staff. He just hasn’t figured out how to channel his excitement when making new doggie friends.We also boarded him for one night. After a rocky start (first time away, so expected), there werent any issues raised when we picked him up.About 3 weeks ago, my request to board my puppy over Memorial Day weekend was approved.The issues w/ Hi-BK began last Wednesday. When I picked up my puppy, Rich took an intense tone & said that my puppy doesnt know how to recognize when another dog doesnt want to play. I asked Rich if he had any tips I could do to improve this behavior. All he said was “you really need to get him a trainer.” My puppy has a trainer. Rich also complained that our puppy barks & its “disturbing” to the other dogs. I left feeling like I was doing something wrong. Rich’s complaints bordered on attacking my puppy-parenting.On Thursday, my husband came w/ me to pick up our puppy. When Rich started complaining, we tried to engage w/ him & ask for tips, but were met w/ more complaints.After drop-off on Friday, I stayed to watch my puppy’s entrance which was one of Rich’s complaints - that his entrance was too excitable. When my puppy & handler entered into the hallway, the dogs in the playroom went to the gate. I assumed because they knew that when a human entered the hallway, there was a new dog coming & they wanted to see who it was. My puppy entered the play area, yes very excited. The handlers helped him calm down & after a few minutes, the energy levels of my puppy & other dogs calmed. I watched my puppy trot around & play. He was not barking, others were. This seemed ok & I left. When I picked my puppy up I had a conversation with Geraldine. As we were finishing, Rich entered the lobby & immediately jumped down my throat. He said “unless I see a drastic improvement, I can’t guarantee he can stay here. You need a plan B.” It was Friday evening, we were dropping him off Wednesday morning. I didn’t know what kind of improvement Rich expected in 4 days. I asked Rich what happened & he just said “it was worse than yesterday.” When I mentioned I watched my puppys entrance Rich argued with me and told me my puppy wasnt like so and so. I was becoming frustrated b/c this was not the first time Rich compared my puppy to another dog in a negative way. It was becoming clear that Rich wanted a specific personality of dog and my puppy was not that. Geraldine & a handler witnessed this whole encounter.W/out a plan B, my husband & I decided to cancel the reservation. Soon after, I got a call from Geraldine. She was extremely apologetic for how the conversation went down and said they had a lot of ideas to make sure my puppy was set up for success. She said they were willing to honor the reservation, and that takes some dogs longer to have a good entrance, referencing one who needed 3 months. Richs behavior showed he wasnt willing to give my puppy 3 months. While I appreciated the call, Geraldine was not the one who owed me an apology. I told her this wasn’t a good fit and I wanted a full refund of the deposit.

The owners are so friendly. Thank you for bringing the Aloha spirit to Brooklyn.
