This was the first time we had rescued a pup, and we wanted to learn to communicate well with him and understand his behaviors while learning how to train him. Gabriel framed parameters for us to understand what we were experiencing with Mr. Spock. He gave us practical information that helped us perceive Spocks fears and giving us ways of responding to his behaviors. We had also tried behavior modification techniques with another trainer. Gabriels methods and explanations worked well for our dog and we are very appreciative for his information and help. When Spock arrived, he was unable to walk urban blocks. With Gabriels help, he now walks and is familiarized with his home neighborhood. We very much trust his methods and are grateful!Thanks Gabriel!

Gabriel is truly an expert. He helped us completely transform our two pups from frightened lil babies to confident, active ladies. They both had very different issues with walking and socializing. We also worked on off leash training and recall. He was able to calmly and clearly address everything we could think of in 3 sessions. A lot of the work involved addressing how our behavior and body language affects our pups. On top of the training knowledge, what I liked the most about working with Gabriel is him calmness and patience, which eased my anxiety and made me feel hopeful when we worked together training my very reactive pug during every session. Whoever said you cant teach an old dog new tricks clearly has never met Gabriel! WOW. I can’t recommend Gabriel from Pawmos enough! We have two Shelties, Rocky (9 years old) and Rosko (10 years old) who were extremely reactive and barked at everything (hair dryer, hair SPRAY!!, the blender, the vacuum, people knocking on the doors, AIRPANES!). Gabriel not only taught us how to prevent these behaviors but also showed us how to manage them effectively in different situations. He truly understands dogs and how they think about things. He’s basically the dog whisperer—his knowledge about dogs is unmatched. He equipped us with the tools and techniques we needed to prevent unwanted unwanted barking, as well as how to manage it once it begins. We saw a huge improvement even after the first day. Cannot say enough about how skilled Gabriel is! He is incredibly intuitive with dogs ; able to observe, identify, and work with issues incredibly quickly. On top of that he is able to condense his methods into very practical and simple steps that a dog owner can use daily in order to build on the work done in sessions. For our particular situation of having a rather anxious rescue who had issues with many things (loud noises, skateboards, other dogs) it was incredibly illuminating and I use the knowledge from our sessions every single day.
Cant recommend Gabriel enough. Ive seen many trainers over the years to help with my dogs resource guarding or to facilitate a non-fighting relationship between my dog and my sisters. Nothing had worked, but Gabriel really seems to understand the minds of dogs. Gabriel was recommended to us as quite the dog whisperer when we brought into our home a 9-month old lab (Molly) rescued from Arkansas, the land of abandoned dogs. He was all that and more indeed, and It was the best decision we could have made. No commercial control devices used - just a simple gently handled leash during an afternoon of interactive training and guidance with she and us. The outcome has been remarkable.
We grew up with dogs and never had to have a trainer before, but our sweet Bernese Mountain Dog was getting into trouble with his curiosity and exuberance for all creatures. He would run off, break through his electric fence, chase deer, and engage with dogs and people who clearly were not interested.We called Gabriel the moment our guy’s behavior became unsafe, and he came straight away and helped us immensely! Gabriel made an immediate connection with Preston and was so kind and non- judgmental. He encouraged us to take videos of our sessions to refer to and also took outside time to send us recaps of the lessons. He worked with us twice in the home (to crate train and stay on the property), once for leash training, and met us once at the beach for off leash training – and that is all it took. He even came for a next day emergency session when our older dog passed, and Preston experienced a slight regression due to grief. We are forever grateful to Gabriel and recommend him without reservation. He truly has a gift for understanding our beloved canines.We learned so much from Gabriel and his training is lasting. We are now the envy of the neighborhood and in our travels for having such a friendly, well trained, happy gentle giant!!

This is my first ever review and I’m doing it because Gabriel is just that good. Our dog, Luna, developed a unique socialization issue after being attacked in a dog park. She loves dogs and playing with them, but really struggled at initial intro to new dogs (which was a complete 180 from before the attack). Gabriel 1. Made us feel heard and reassured us that our dog wasn’t completely broken; 2. Helped us understand her behavior and realize she was not reactive or aggressive like we feared; 3. Agreed to help us resocialize her (which a lot of trainers refused). Beyond us all loving him and his family, she is making a lot of progress and we’re much less afraid introducing her to new dogs. Gabriel is the business owner and an expert trainer for my dog. I have a 13year old maltese who started barking constantly in my apartment, causing the noise complaints and landlord notices. In the 2 sessions with Gabriel, I got to understand much more of the stimulus from me, the apartment and other factors that I was never aware of which impacted my dog’s levels. We were able to quickly understand some of his behaviors and inputs and even learned more about how to communicate during our walks and other lifestyle activities. I sent my 4 month old puppy Mylo, to be boarded and trained with Gabriel for a week. I was so impressed on his expertise on training, he also has this amazing vibe where he is so kind and patient. We, and our dog, really loved working with Gabriel. We just rescued a one-year-old, very energetic, bernedoodle who we were feeling a little overwhelmed with. Gabriel is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He has such a great, calm philosophy about dog training. We have a 4 month old mix who is very sweet but was struggling with walking on a leash, calming down (besides normal puppy exploration), and attention seeking/barking. She spent 7-8 days with Gabriel and when we picked her up, she was noticeably so much calmer and just felt like she was much more confident with herself. He really has a gift with dogs.I have a stubborn, dominant bull dog who was very grouchy with other dogs. With Gabriels patient, kind manner, she now she walks happily, enjoying the pack. He has helped train our brand new 2 year old, very nervous Golden Retriever, always giving positive feedback to the dog and to us!I have used other dog walkers and trainers in the past but Pawmos Pet Care is by far the best experience we have had.

Gabriel was the second trainer we tried to help adjust to life with our new rescue. In a single session, he accomplished more than what we were able to in multiple sessions with the first trainer. While other trainers’ methods were to spend the whole first session as a consultation, Gabriel dove right into things. He was really hands-on with the training and we saw a huge difference in our dog overnight. He also followed up our session with a helpful email outlining everything we talked about so we could refer back to it as needed. We had another session with him recently for a different issue we’re having and it was just as great as the first one. Gabriel has our absolute highest recommendation for dog training, don’t think twice about booking Pawmos!
I truly cant say enough how wonderful Gabriel is! Our new rescue was so scared of the Brooklyn city streets, she would barely step outside our front door, and she was skittish on all our (very short) walks. We had seen two previous trainers with limited success. Within 5 minutes, Gabriel had her walking up and down the street and by the end of our session we had taken her to the park. After the session, we were able to use Gabriels tools to go on walks with our dog with relative ease. It really was night and day for us before our session and after. We only wished wed found him sooner and saved some angst!Our session provided us with such a better understanding for our dogs psychology and how we could help her. Gabriel was so kind and non judgmental throughout the whole process, while being very clear with us about what would help. We will be looking to Gabriel for all our dog training needs - he knows what hes doing!

Gabriel is excellent, We cant thank him enough. Korra is a rescue and had many fears in the city. After one session he helped Korra with her confidence and with her high levels of anxiety. After a few lessons, Korra is doing absolutely fantastic, and we couldnt have done that without Gabriel.

Gabriel is amazing and extremely talented at what he does. I met him over fiveyear ago while I was walking my French bulldog, Sadie, in our neighborhoodof Prospect Heights. Gabriel asked if he could use Sadie for training purposes with the dog hewas walking - he remarked on how well behaved she is-- little did heknow. I was skeptical, mainly because Gabriel was so nice! He took Sadiein one hand and the troubled dog in the other. Sadie growled and snapped andso did Mr. Bighound- Gabriel calmly and respectfully took control of the bothof them and started walking them together, peacefully down the block.I walked quietly, mouth agape, in shock, next to them. What Gabriel didntknow was that Sadie was a bit of a bully with other dogs and often very unpleasantto walk. In that initial meeting Gabriel seemed to fix it all!Several months later he became Sadies full-time dog walker and occasionaltrainer/behavioralist.Sadie needed some house rules to abide by as my husband and I needed to take back control of our house (as Gabriel puts it).Sadie also needed to learn how to respect one of her new masters - a new little human who entered the scene a few months after Gabriel and I met.Gabriel has taught me how to be a better parent to my dog and in return, my dog has become a more obedient and relaxed dog, I am continually grateful for this.We are very fortunate to have Gabriel (and now his team) in our lives.If you are looking for the best possible all-around care for your pet you seriously need to look no further.Gabriel Reisco and the Pawmos family are your people.

A friend had recommended gabriel and from the second bogie met him, he was in love.gabriel worked with my puppy to teach him tricks and proper behavior.i remember once he wrote me a note saying that bogie comes back when you call him in the park now. and i thought, well he does that already....basically...but the next day i called bogie in the park and the difference was noticeable. now, he comes whenever i call him, even far away. thats me in the park with the dog who avoids puddles and weekend picnic trash. somehow i manage to tell my dog not to steal those nice peoples soccer ball and he listens.i also remember the day gabriel left me a note saying bogie learned paw (something i was having trouble with), i asked bogie if he learned a new trick and up went the paw....he was adorably proud of himself. now he even knows other paw.he can stay, wait until i count to three to take the treat in front of him, he lays down, on his side, speaks, heals, backs up, and just to show off, he will lie down and play dead if you point your hand at him like a gun and say bang bang!...this was all gabriel.bogie even trains me sometimes. i wasnt consistently having bogie sit before he ate. but once gabriel started feeding him lunch a couple of times a week, bogie would sit for breakfast and dinner and wait for me to tell him it was okay.--i often think about how incredibly lucky i was that bogie started walking with gabriel as a puppy. he will always be a well trained, balanced dog now.it has been almost 8 years with gabriel and pawmos.all of the walkers have been incredibly reliable for regular walks, and flexible when my schedule changes. their tracking method is helpful because even at work, I know when they have arrived and left and how bogie is doing in the middle of the day.i cant recommend them highly enough...and i pass on his name to everyone i know.

This rating is long overdue, but I loved working with Gabriel on dog training. I really appreciated this approach to understand the behavioral issues to get directly address problems. I cant say enough about how great Gabriel is. He came in with our crazy new puppy Cooper and immediately calmed him down–and more importantly, showed US how to calm him down. His approach to teaching owners to communicate with their dogs has saved us massive amounts of grief and really deepened our relationship with our pup. We covered leash training, dealing with zoomies, attention barking, and letting us eat our meals in peace, etc. He gave us invaluable tools for all those situations. Highly recommended!
I was experiencing some behavioral issues with my dog Blue, and Im so glad I found Gabriel. His approach on how to change a dogs behavior rather than work on obedience training was refreshing. Gabriel gave me the necessary tools to work on with Blue, and now I know what to look for, and how to help guide him and I feel much more confident. Blue has improved so much already! Gabriel also sent very thorough recaps of our sessions which was helpful to look back at and was responsive whenever I had questions. Highly recommend him!

Gabriel is such a wonderful trainer hes almost a magician.I have a Cardigan Corgi -- which are known for their personalities, intelligence, and ability to split open ear drums with their barks. Within 15 minutes of showing up at my home, Gabriel had my dog obeying his silent commands to stop the barking.And he trained me to keep that up.I highly recommend him for your dog trainings needs.
Gabriel is a wonderful trainer! After I got a new pup, I reached out to Gabriel for a training session. He was super responsive from the jump, which was appreciated. I was blown away by Gabriel’s ability to easily command my dog. Just one training session left me with a new, wide range of tools and exercises to use with my pup. I ended up getting a 3 pack of lessons because I had various issues to address (feeding, leash training, biting, barking,) and honestly, Gabriel just has a great vibe that made me want to continue working with him. Gabriel is an endless wealth of knowledge, and each session I absorbed more and more. I now have the skills to walk my dog on leash without the constant pulling drama that makes for an unpleasant park experience. Plus, the tools to handle all sorts of potential problems. Gabriel is a totally Zen dog (and ) people communicator. In the three sessions we had, he calmed my very energetic (a polite way to say out of control) two year old Catahoula Cattle dog who we adopted from the shelter. They are born to run at high speed and hunt critters. He taught both of us how to walk nicely on the leash and do recall in the park, not chase squirrels and not jump on everybody that passes by as if they are his long lost love! I have had dogs all my life but this little guy is a challenge. He is 50 pounds of pure muscle. We continue to implement the techniques Gabriel modeled, and it’s getting better if I am mindful. Sometimes he still goes kablooie, and I get frustrated, but he is much, much better if I am consistent. I wholeheartedly recommend Gabriel!

He has a calm and non-judgemental approach which put us at ease to work with our dog, Tucker together.Gabriel was very attentive to our specific needs and scenarios. He helped us work thru Tuckers fears of gutters, walking on leash, crying in the car and receiving visitors to the house and gave us insight on our relationship with our dog.Soon after we hired Pawmos services to also walk Tucker. We were a little apprehensive for our dog to walk in a pack, but due to Pawmos experienced walkers and philosophy, Tucker enjoy weekly walks with many pups!The communications and booking are all very consistent and professional. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I have a 10lb 1 year old Chihuahua mix who developed some bad reactivity. Walking him was so stressful, I was always looking for other dogs and constantly crossing the street to avoid other dogs. After 3 training sessions, my little guy is a totally changed dog! And Im a changed dog parent too. Gabriels method is not only for the dogs, but for the humans too. He gives you the building blocks you need to set both yourself and your dog up for success. Gabriel was amazing with our rescue dog, Trevor. Trevor is pretty shy around new people but Gabriel was able to gain his trust amazingly quickly. Trevor is also not treat-motivated which can make him tougher to train, but Gabriel gave us great insights into how to motivate him based on positive reinforcement and building a strong relationship. Gabriel has also been available whenever we have a question about how to handle something, and his advice always works. I couldnt recommend Gabriel more highly.
Am a first time dog owner and really didnt have a clue. My husband had more experience but we agreed we needed intervention. A friend recommended Gabriel and we have gone from puppy insanity to relative calm in a week because he showed us how we were doing it all wrong and how to fix it, in the best possible way. We did three sessions this week and will absolutely have him come back for more once we reach the next phase with our pup. Gabriel is Brooklyns animal whisperer whose approach is intuitive. It takes practice but I feel 1000% less stressed this week. It is amazing to watch Gabriel interact with our dog. I feel capital hashtag blessed to have found him.We have also used Pawmos for dog walking for the last few years and they have been great! Gabriel is the best there is. I had a corgi puppy who had no boundaries. I loved him but I was losing hope and was even thinking of giving him away because he was very aggressive and was hurting me physically as well as mentally. Gabriel said he has a big dog energy inside his small body to give you an idea. I tried numerous training methods then saw reviews on Gabriel. From our first meeting, I knew he would be the one to help train my puppy Koda. He was so good that I purchased about 10 more sessions. Every session he is hands on and gives you a TON of information and he sees which method would work best. He is also willing to help through phone call if you have questions on the training or need a refresher. His rates are very fair as he is willing to go the extra mile in every session. My dog Koda is now 1.5 years old now and he is my best friend and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Gabriel is the best investment I have made. Don’t believe the “they will grow out of it” idea because it is completely false. Highly recommend
I remain so impressed with Gabriel and Pawmos Pet Care that Im submitting this review even after moving outside NYC (and unfortunately away from Pawmos).We first used Pawmos Pet Care for dog-walking, and would recommend them 100% based on that alone. Every walker was consistently kind, responsible, and attentive -- so much so that we started using Pawmos Pet Care for dog-sitting as well, trusting their walkers to stay in our apartment when were away. The true miracle, however, was Gabriels training session. He is remarkably attuned, both to dogs and to the human relationships and interactions that impact them, and his compassionate, warm manner is both accessible and hugely effective. In one lesson, he reduced our dogs barking by probably 70%. Really. And my husbands relationship with our dog changed just as dramatically. I cant recommend Pawmos Pet Care more highly.
Gabriel and his team are incredible! We initially had Gabriel come over and help us better understand some behavioral issues with our 5 month old mini aussie. He showed us not only how to understand our dog, but to communicate with him as well. Head and shoulders above another trainer we unfortunately went to. The lesson was thorough and informative; with ample time to ensure we understood everything. He answered all of our questions and concerns, even after the visit.We liked Pawmos so much, we decided to use their dog walking service and are just as ecstatic! Dany has been a fantastic pal with our pup, its a highlight of his day! Pawmos was recommended to us by our previous dog walker who felt that our dog’s behavioral issues were more than they could handle, and Im forever grateful for the recommendation. I cant say enough great things about Gabriel and his team! Our dog, Winston, can be a real challenge out on the streets. He is extremely reactive towards bikes and has never successfully mastered the art of walking politely on a leash despite attempts at private training, group classes, and lots of money spent on different harnesses and leashes. Gabriel is an exceptionally insightful and patient trainer and has worked with us to help Winston overcome some of his outdoor anxieties. We still have work to do, but the techniques Gabriel has shared have definitely made a difference, and he has been incredibly encouraging and patient along the way. Ive also had the opportunity to see Winston with his regular walker, Felipe, and have been amazed at the calming presence he has with our dog. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Gabriel is Fantastic! I really cannot say enough. I adopted my love Zora last March. She was 8 weeks old and I had no clue what I was getting myself into (despite growing up with dogs, Id never trained them)! So a month into it I called Gabriel a bit desperate and sure enough Gabriel was AMAZING. He is basically just like Cesar Milan, but from Spain, ha. Incredible to watch and learn from. I had no idea about the true, effective language to speak to dogs. And especially with a brand new puppy, she needed a LOT of training- both behaviorally, how to walk, crate training and otherwise. Gabriel was critical. Over the past...almost a year actually, we did maybe 4 or 5 sessions, and a couple phone calls when I didnt understand how/ why she was acting a certain way and he saved the day- he trained Zora AND me! Just amazing.I really cant say enough, you are in The Best Hands. If you need help with anything with your dog, other than just walking, doing a session with him is invaluable. Most people, I dont think, truly understand dogs the way he does. I literally give his number out to people I see on the street struggling with their dogs.
Pawmos — and Gabriel especially — are the most wonderful dog training company around. Gabriel instinctively understands dogs and is able to train them effortlessly. Almost as importantly, Gabriel trained us so that we could continue the effort when he wasn’t around. Our puppy is well behaved, social, walks well on a leash and listens. I was nervous about getting a puppy, but Gabriel put me right at ease. I cannot say enough good things about him.
Let me first start by saying that Gabriel is incredible at what he does! My six-month-old puppy (Fig) was having a hard time with separation anxiety, over-stimulation, and even behaving aggressively towards us on walks. We were starting to get really anxious ourselves that these behaviors would persist beyond puppyhood, nothing we had tried seemed to be helping. After doing some research, I reached out to Gabriel to see if he could help us with Fig. Gabriel came to us and immediately showed us the body language & energy that we needed to display so our puppy would be able to feel calm & overcome his over-stimulation. He also showed us some really amazing leash techniques and gave us a crash course in re-call at the off-leash dog park. Overall, he offered an incredible amount of RELIEF to us as pet owners. We felt so much more confident in what we were doing, and we continue to see improvement within our puppy. Gabriel is truly a dog-whisperer, I was amazed at how he was able to communicate with my puppy and his explanations/guidance for us were incredibly helpful.
It was no fun dealing puppy bite with a German shepherd puppy. We’ve tried everything from the internet but nothing helped until we found Gabriel. He went to our house, played with our girl and taught us how to clam Ada down when she goes nut. Gabriel taught us one of the most important mindset in dog training: the manage dog’s state of mind. Ada and us trust Gabriel just after one session. His concept works on my puppy’s every age stage. We are truly thankful that we found Gabriel last spring.
My 6 month old golden retriever puppy just finished a 2 week train and board with Gabriel and came back a new dog. Prior to her time with him, she was incredibly resistant to being in a crate, she wasn’t sleeping through the night, she would bark in the house for attention, and I didn’t feel comfortable with her off leash. Now she loves her crate and goes in without a peep, sleeps through the night, and never barks in the house. I am so thankful I made this investment while she was still young because she is honestly a dream dog at home now. I can also get her a lot more exercise at the park because I can trust her off leash. She comes every single time I tell her, it’s so nice not to worry! She LOVES Gabriel and loved her time with him and I think that makes all the difference. He worked with her on come, stay, place, heel and even on behaviors I hadn’t even mentioned like jumping.I’ve also done a few hour long training sessions with Gabriel and I think that is key. He has trained me to train my puppy. His techniques are all positive and fun so when I’m working with my dog she’s excited and ready to learn. Plus it’s been really great for our bond. He works on both behavior modification and training, which makes for a dog who not only listens but who also knows boundaries without being told. My 6 month old puppy will even let us eat at our low coffee table and she doesn’t try to steal our food! It’s great. I honestly can’t recommend Gabriel enough. Making an investment in your dog is worth every penny. Gabriel is a joy to work with. He manages to make this training stuff fun for both my puppy and I. He sets clear, achievable goals and is very understanding and non-judgmental.
My boyfriend and I contacted Gabriel to help us transition our rescue dog to city life and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done. He took the time to learn about her specific quirks and gave us tools that worked for her. He showed us how to calm her down, walk her on a leash, and even interact with other dogs. But most importantly, he gave us a way to successfully communicate with our dog and for that we will be forever grateful! I can’t recommend him enough!
There is no one I would trust more with my dogs than Gabriel and his team of walkers! We have two new rescues, who can be difficult to manage, and the walkers were able to not only create a relationship with them but also help us in our efforts to train them. They are great with communication- they clock in and out and leave notes about the walk. They are very responsible, clean up when there are messes, and inform me when the dogs get into things they shouldnt. The experience was so radically different than the one we had had with a previous walker; I know I can trust them and I get daily updates!We also had Gabriel do some training sessions, and I couldnt recommend him enough. I was at my wits end with what to do with one of our rescues who barks at people, dogs, loud trucks, etc, and Gabriel gave us the tools and confidence to work on these things. He understands dogs more than anyone I know, but also really understands people and the impact their dogs have on their lives. He has made the adoption process manageable for us, and I couldnt recommend him more!
Gabriel is a brilliant dog behaviorist. He helped us with our cavalier (Hazel) and her anxiety issues.He was able to teach my wife and I how to walk her properly, ease her stress when she goes into her crate and associate with other dogs, and humans alike within a two-hour session!Gabriel is the authority on all-things dogs. It helps that he is very warm, friendly and easy going.No one else can compete with his expertise! Hazel is a cherished part of our family and we couldnt imagine training her with anyone else!
I cant say enough good things about Gabriel and his team of walkers. Not only are they great with both of our dogs for their daily walks, but Gabriel has gone above and beyond in helping us work on our labs separation anxiety. Weve used Gabriel over the years with our Samoyed, Claude. Gabriel has been there with behavioral training for us at every stage of Claudes development, from puppy to adult. A specific example of Gabriels expertise: as Claude grew to adulthood, he was often very disobedient on the leash. E.g., insisting on turning around, lying on the sidewalk, etc. Gabriel took just one walk with Claude and I, immediately recognized the issue and demonstrated how to change my walking behavior (and attitude) with Claude. Claude has never had a problem on the leash since!On both a professional and personal level, Gabriel is wonderful to deal with, and your dog will love him!
We found Gabriel after moving our Llewellin Setter to Brooklyn. We had issues with her barking, chewing, & anxiety. We had three sessions with Gabriel which have really paid off with our dog! He really taught us how to take the best care of our pup! Hes also so nice to be around.
We were so impressed by Gabriels expertise, professionalism, and extremely positive approach! Our pups have some random leash aggression that makes a walk go from a fun stroll to a daunting task very quickly (one of our pups in particular, who is still a developing puppy that we quickly learned was having trouble because of how we were walking him). Wed been to another trainer for some guidance, but after moving we needed some more help. Gabriel spent awhile with me on the phone and even provided feedback without expecting us to book an appointment, showing his commitment and passion for his work. We booked an appointment as soon as we could (which wasnt a long time - he was very responsive and provided availability the same week we inquired) and he was able to dive right into our leash walking skills, which admittedly needed a lot of help. Just by changing our leash walking approach our pups are new dogs. We are very close to being able to stroll around calmly on a consistent basis and it has only been a few days of us adapting to our new routine. I HIGHLY I recommend Gabriel and his team! We will be returning for more services as soon as his walkers expand their coverage area to ours (after COVID).
Gabriel was so helpful and so great with our bulldog. He has very good calm energy and body languages that speaks to the dog. We worked on her reacting to other dogs and skateboards that trigger my dog to be out of control. Gabriel showed us how to use leash to keep her relaxed. In just one session we saw a huge difference. He is a true dog whisperer! He is so knowledgeable and we look forward to many more sessions with him because he is helping all of us lead a happier and structured life for our dog. Ive used Pawmos Pet Care (Formerly City Dog Strut) for both training and walking and have been extremely happy with both services. Gabriel is a wonderful dog trainer - he focuses on conditioning the dogs behavior (in our case our 2-8 month puppy) and teaches his techniques to his clients, following up with a very useful email summary. Pawmos Pet Care walked our puppy in Prospect Park and allowed us to track their progress online, including being informed when they picked the puppy up and dropped her back home. Would (and have) recommend Pawmos Pet Care without reservation.
Gabriel is absolutely amazing! Bell had developed a fear of walking outside in NYC and we couldn’t get her to leave our street to go for a walk. After one session with Gabriel, we were able to go on walks with Bell again! He taught us really important techniques that we still use today.
We have been using Pawmos Pet Care (Formerly City Dog Strut) to walk our dog for two years now. Gabriel and his team have been so great for us. After a long stretch of walks, we came home to find our dog knew a new trick! Gabriel even sent a video of our little guy learning the ropes. We recently did three retreval training sessions with Gabriel. The amount that we (and our dog, Jimmy) learned in that time was amazing. Gabriel has a prolific understanding of dogs, and more importantly, the tendencies of their owners, to get results quickly.
After one session with Gabriel, we cannot recommend him enough. Our 3 year old rescue, Rox, struggles with reactiveness and fairly severe anxiety, particularly around new people, but she warmed up to Gabriel in a matter of minutes. He explains things so clearly and thoughtfully and has a calming presence that set all of us, and especially Rox, at ease. He gave us some great tips about changing a dogs mindset, even if you cant change their surroundings, and we noticed her feeling more comfortable almost instantly. On top of that, he gave us some extremely easy leash techniques to implement right away, and she has gone from a 2/10 walker to walking calmly with a loose leash in a matter of days. We cant wait to work with him more as we continue to work on new skills with sweet Rox. Thank you Gabriel!
We feel so lucky to have found Gabriel to help us with our new adopted pup, Penny. His approach to modifying behavior instead of obedience is exactly what we needed. Penny learned tons of new tricks quickly, but we couldnt seem to get her to stop barking in the house, lunging at bikes on walks, or losing her mind at visitors. He taught us how to condition new behaviors in her and weve seen so much improvement. The change in Penny is really night and day. I went from feeling nervous and unsure around her to feeling confident and in control. We now know how to help her stay calm, and in turn, weve gone back to having a relaxing, calm place to call home. Thank you, Gabriel!

Gabriel has been wonderful, very reliable, great with my two doggies. He accepted last minute requests as well. He was able to comply with my irregular work schedule, something many dog walkers will simply not do. He always put updates on his website after each walk which I could check from work - it made me feel great to be able to track the walk electronically. Gabriel completely changed our lives with our 4.5 month old puppy, Mia. When we adopted her we noticed very quickly that she was unable to settle on her own, which is not something we had experienced with other dogs in our lives before. She would get overstimulated and overtired so easily and then wouldn’t sleep, which just contributed to more problems. Since she couldn’t sleep or calm down on her own, she would bark, get bad cases of zoomies, nip/bite on furniture constantly and so much more. Mia hated her crate as well which made things even more challenging.We had Mia stay with Gabriel and his family in their home for 8 days. When I say I got back a completely different puppy, I am not exaggerating. He was able to work with her on self-settling while also teaching her recall, manners with other dogs, and shaping up some of our leash training. Mia has amazing recall now - we can take her off leash to the park, and feel confident that she will stick by us and listen. She also naps on her own now, which may seem like a small thing, but wow, what a difference. Having a puppy who doesn’t sleep on their own was draining on us, but now, she is a completely different dog, and she’s so much happier now! Gabriel taught us that we don’t have to go overboard with “trying to tire our active dog out”. In fact, the advice we had gotten from other trainers and things we were trying before “to tire her out” were contributing to her getting overstimulated. Gabriel helped us correct that, and we are so grateful to him!Overall, Gabriel is one of the best people we have ever met and he completely changed our lives for the better with our Mia.

He fully explained the mind of the dog and how we could best connect with our puppy so she can understand that we are the leaders in our relationship. We thought as second time dog owners, we knew exactly what to do but there is so much you forget about puppies and training. We have an adorable but opinionated golden retriever puppy and Gabe was so reassuring and helpful. He has a calm manner and is truly the dog whisperer. His methods are easy to practice when he leaves. He never rushes out and is thoughtful in his training. You feel that his training is unique to your puppy and situations and not generic. Would and have already highly recommended him to friends.
Gabriel is a natural with dogs and humans alike. Our dog Ruby is incredibly shy with people and afraid of all dogs bigger than herself... which is most dogs. Gabriel seems to have an intuitive sense of what Rubys feeling at any given moment and knows how to make her feel more comfortable in whatever situation she finds herself. All with an unwavering gentle authority thats amazing to watch. Hes now one of Rubys favorite life forms in the world. If Ruby knew how to type there wouldnt be enough stars for her to recommend him with or enough space for her to type Happy tail wag! over and over and over again. Since Gabriel hasnt yet taught her how to use my keyboard (he probably could if he wanted to) Im typing in Rubys stead to say we cant recommend Gabriels gentleness of person and canine (and human) know-how highly enough. Can’t believe how immediately effective Gabriel was with our anxious foster-Collie thats had trouble walking in Brooklyn. I saw improvements right off the bat, and it’s just remarkable that that’s even possible. We feel super equipped to handle further training and couldn’t be more happy. I loved working with Gabriel. Before I met him, I had tried everything that I knew to try to reduce my 7-year-old dogs anxiety. From leash aggression to manic energy, neither my dog nor I had a peaceful, relaxed existence. Luckily, a coworker recommended Pawmos.Gabriel showed me a new way to build trust with my dog. His approach was patient, informed, and instructional. He demonstrated techniques that had me communicating with my dog in a completely different way -- yielding a completely different (i.e. healthy) result.I cant begin to explain the change Ive seen on my dog (and more importantly in myself). I knew we were on a new path when a fellow dog owner said, Yeah, he really has a lot of anxiety, but this dog is so mellow that hes being really good. Great experience overall. Gabriel is great with dogs, and also humans :) We were expecting to have a dog training session but it turned out that it was actually an human training session on how to communicate and understand the language of our little friends. Gabriel thoroughly demonstrates his teachings after explaining the concepts. its great to be able to apply the techniques in the context immediately after understanding them. I would highly recommend this company.
Gabe was beyond patient with my puppy, Riley. I was struggling with her barking, nipping, jumping, and all-around crazy energy. She would also lunge at people and other dogs on our walks.After a session or two, leash walking was completely transformed and I can go for blocks at a time with a completely loose leash. Shes also much calmer and polite in the house. Gabe invested the time to teach both my dog AND me. Amazing progress!

For both training or walking, you cant do better.Was in a tough place with my rescue--he was aggressive towards strangers at the door and had issues with other dogs. The Pawmos! team has been walking my dog for the past two months. I chose Pawmos! because they promised significant competitive advantages, including the expertise of their team, their 2-hour pickup window (many services require a 3-hour window which is too inconsistent for my dog), and real-time notifications at pickup and dropoff. When I inquired about becoming a client, Pawmos! owner Gabriel responded within hours and I was quickly onboarded with Mariana walking my dog every weekday morning and Jenni walking my dog every weekday afternoon. From our first meeting I knew I would be very happy to have my dog in their care.Mariana is exceptionally dependable, and her calm, in-charge demeanor is perfect for my high-energy dog. When I text Mariana she responds immediately, always expressing her care for my pup. My dog loves walking with her, and I get a friendly note at the end of every walk letting me know what happened.Jenni is also loved by my dog, I have witnessed how excited she is when Jenni arrives. Jenni is an excellent communicator and always available if I have a question or need to make a change. Like Mariana, Jenni understands how much we humans love our fur babies and demonstrates genuine care for my dogs well being.I highly recommend Pawmos!
I cannot recommend Gabriel enough. I saw results with my dog immediately. It is wonderfully life changing to have a calm, enjoyable walk with her where she isnt pulling, as well as for her to go off leash at the park. I only wish I hired him sooner!
This review is mainly for Danny, who stayed with our greyhound when we were out of town for a week. We are always worried about leaving her with others, as most doggie parents are, and he could not possibly have eased our worries more. He came to meet her ahead of time, listened closely to her (and our) needs, and was open and communicative throughout the entire process. He shared amazing pictures and videos, which made us smile while we were so far away from her, and allowed us to see how happy and content she was with him. We cant thank him enough for making sure she was safe, happy and well-fed! :-)We havent met Gabriel, but our initial interaction with him via email was fantastic. He was responsive and made the payment process easy and seamless. We will definitely seek out Danny in the future for our petsitting and walking needs, and are grateful to the whole team for being so professional and pleasant to work with.
Pawmos (fka City Dog Strut) is really the best! Weve had them walking our Ladies for over 3 years. They are reliable and its clear they love the dogs. All of the walkers are really great, but I need to give a special shout out to Jenni for her daily walk reports and frequent pictures.When it comes to training, Gabe is absolutely amazing. Its like he has a telepathic link with the dogs.As an added bonus, many of the walkers will dog-sit on a private basis. They already know your dog. You already trust them with your key. Its a win-win! We had Jenni dog sit our dogs a few weeks ago, and it was probably the best slumber party our dogs ever saw.
Three words: Brooklyn Dog Whisperer. Gabe even sounds a little like Cesar, but I dont hold that against him.Gabe understands dogs, but just as important, he gets people. Hes personable to work with and explains things while allowing you to experience the commands that you need to provide your dog.So often the issues a dog experiences are caused by the handler, which can be a difficult reality to swallow. Gabe will notice things you dont and encourage you to be the handler you owe it to your dog to be.Gabe worked with our dog, Elton, and is a good friend. We recommend him highly for all our your dog training and walking needs. Dont even bother looking elsewhere.
Gabe and his team have been with us as long as our pup, Hugo. From 4 months old until now, Pawmos Pet Care (formerly City Dog Strut) has been great about providing training, advice, and extra walks and attention for our very active dog. He helped us to learn key skills - like wearing our our dogs brain as a way to make sure he can behave. They are helpful, trustworthy, and available even when we need a walk or assistance last minute or at odd hours.We see so many other dogs on the street that are not well adjusted, dont get along with other dogs or people, or clearly cause their owners a lot of stress. Working with Gabriel made a huge difference for our rescue pup. We adopted her in the spring as an 3 year old dog from Georgia. When she got to the city, she was absolutely terrified. She suffers from extreme anxiety that is triggered by cars, trucks, and buses; making walking her virtually impossible. Within a 30 minutes of our first session with Gabriel, he had her walking down the busiest street in our neighborhood. After a few sessions, weve were able to make big strides with our rescue. She still has anxiety and were continuously practicing the tips Gabriel provided, but were now able to take her out for walks around the neighborhood daily and manage the anxiety much better. I was definitely beginning to feeling hopeless before we met Gabriel, but with him - shes improved SO much more than I thought she would! Hes truly a dog whisperer.
Love Pawmos! Weve used their services for almost five years, and they are truly the most reliable puppy companions around. The walkers are prompt about picking up our dog every weekday for her lunchtime walk, they send great updates daily, and they provide us with utmost confidence that our dog friend is getting her needs met when were at work. I have a German Shepard who is clearly the worst dog I have ever had. He doesnt listen. He barks his head off when anyone walks by the house. He is completely defiant. The girl at the vet saw how horrible he is and told me I should send him to the rescue. Hes a beautiful dog so he would be snapped up quick, but he is such a bad dog, he would be returned and most likely destroyed. Hes my boy. I couldnt do that. Our old dog trainer actually said he could no longer help us. He was such a bad dog he gave up on him.I saw a post on our neighborhood website that the East Coast Ceasar Milan was coming to my neighborhood. I immediately contacted him and booked an appointment. I knew that anything would be helpful. OMG! After 5 minutes with Gabriel, Ellwood was behaving and listening to Gabriel.He taught me what to do to help my dog. Elllwood has not barked at a dog since Gabriel left. And he is a happier dog too !!!!Gabriel is truly a dog whisperer. He calmed Ellwood. Then he told me he was going to aggravate Ellwood and teach me how to deal with his aggression. He actually completely aggravated Ellwood.Gabriel is truly a God send for Ellwood and my family. We’ve discovered that there really are dog-whisperers. Right here in Brooklyn, in the person of Gabriel Riesco, who, with his colleagues at Pawmos Petcare (formerly Dog Strut) provide exceptional dog walking, training and related services to those of us with pets in need of help. Not that he claims other than long experience with, and interest in dogs. And not that his help is cloaked in mystery, but rather offered in the form of fundamental exercises, games and techniques to establish basic boundaries that even the less competent of us can emulate and practice.Nevertheless his rapport with dogs is uncanny. Within a few weeks it was apparent to us that Manny, a four-year old rescue from Tennessee was exhibiting behavioral problems well beyond our many years of living with pets to manage. By the end of our first one-on-one session with Gabriel…calm, confident, smiling, Manny…agreeable at home but nearly feral on the street, distressed to distraction, defiant on the leash and petrified of, and aggressive toward other dogs and humans…was trotting alongside him and following his lead. By session two, he was walking cooperatively with two and three other dogs. Eventually we even visited a dog run, briefly but without incident. We were stunned. Then hopeful. Best of all, motivated!Gabriel remains responsive to our questions and concerns, generous with his time and genuinely interested in our situation. Since our heeding his recommendation to enroll Manny in regular group walks under the supervision of one of his excellent team, Manny has bonded especially with Danny Espinal…always reliable, no matter the weather, kind, patient, and attentive to the dog’s continued well-being and progress. Now each day at the appointed time, Manny takes his position at the window to wait for Danny to arrive for an invigorating walk around the neighborhood with a revolving circle of canine buddies. It’s Manny’s job, it is rewarding to him and he comes back happy and relaxed. For us it is a no-brainer, complete with email reports, GPS-tracking, and automatic billing. More to the point, it instills confidence that with time and our continuing commitment to his socialization, Manny may realize his potential as good dog citizen as well as faithful companion.
Excellent dog behaviorist. This is really about mentally meeting your pup where they are and understanding what makes them tick in order to create the behaviors you want. Its less of a traditional training, and more of a mindset/team effort. Excellent insight into our dogs personality and great feedback on how to move forward.
Gabe was without a doubt, an extremely relatable, knowledgeable and effective trainer. I have a very VERY energetic puppy, and Gabe immediately captured his attention, while helping me understand the underlying reasons of everything going on in their interactions. Then it was my turn with Baku, and he walked me through everything too, helping me connect with my pup and turning it into a breeze. Ive read hes a dog whisperer... and Im sold. Its true!!
Weve lived in multiple Brooklyn neighborhoods, and have always had Pawmos walk our 2 dogs. Gabe runs an awesome business - scheduling changes are easy to manage, and our dogs have loved their walkers. These guys are great. Dany and Jenni have been walking my pup for almost a year and I have only great things to say. They treat him as if he is their own, and his happiness has visibly gone up since they started walking him. I get email notifications of when hes picked up and dropped off, as well as notes of how the walk went and a map showing the route that they walked. They are so accommodating if I ever need to cancel last minute - Although rare, its nice to know that it isnt a huge problem. Really, I cant recommend them enough!
I tear up every time i think ab gabriel and dany and how much theyve helped us with our challenging pup. i have a senior rescue whos extremely fearful and who exhibits her fear thru aggression. i was terrified at the prospect of having to find a walker for her. the first time dany met her, i felt certain we found the perfect match for trooper because dany put her at ease immediately. she looks forward to her walk every day and dany has even been introducing other dogs to her on their walks. the thought of her walking w/ her buddies makes me so happy. dany also goes out of his way to help, if we need an extra walk or meal time help. hes always receptive and responsive. i love seeing pics and videos of their time together. we signed up for lessons w/ gabriel because lets be honest, its us hoomans who need the training, and he showed us not just the behavioral modifications but also explained the reasons behind them. we are seeing big improvements in troopers behavior and when she does lunge or bark, we now have the tools to handle them. i love love love pawmos!
Everyone at Pawmos has been absolutely great - Gabriel, David, and all the other walkers that have helped us take care of Zoe over the past 6 months. David’s regular walks have really helped Zoe grow her confidence going outside and being around people, and the Pawmos team has always helped us take care of Zoe, even when we go out of town last minute. We called Pawmos Petcare to help with training our adopted pup Sailor last December and have been using their daily dog walking service. All walkers weve used have been SO loving and genuinely caring and attentive to our shy pup.When it came time to take a vacation out of country, we counted on Pawmos to take care of Sailor in the sitters home. Ken was SO understanding about our apprehension to leave her. He was great with updates and pictures of her having a great time and looking VERY comfortable in Kens home. Gabriel is a patient, calm and knowledgable trainer who clearly cares about dogs and their owners alike! While as the owner you still have to put the work in, his advice is sound and his techniques work immediately (even for a nervous adult rescue dog like mine, with no prior training.) So glad I found him!
The most wonderful walkers in Brooklyn! The times I have been home sick and actually seen how thrilled our dog is to hear her walker (and doggie pals) at the door almost exploded my heart. They take sure great care with your pet and living space and are always as accommodating as can be when it comes to last minute walks or changes. The best!

Gabriel worked with my 1.5 yo poodle and I. She was experiencing aggression with scooters and bikes. He taught me how to manage her and also how to teach her to feel comfortable around them. He has an immediately calming presence and I loved working with him. I plan to go back to him, if I ever have any other issues.
We are so grateful to have found Gabriel! He helped us introduce our new poodle puppy to our reactive 13-year-old labradoodle. My goal was to let the dogs meet safely, as Simon has been aggressive with other dogs. Not only did the dogs meet peacefully, but Gabriel showed us how to walk Simon without incident. (We had given up on changing his behavior after working with five different trainers). Gabriel also gave us the tools we needed to give our puppy a great start on house breaking, leash walking and recall in the park. We couldnt recommend Gabriel more highly!

Our family, human and dog, had a wonderful experience with Pawmos Pet Care formerly City Dog Strut. We adopted a young,mostly Maltese and we needed help settling Henry down enough to make a good adjustment in his new home. Gabriel was such a help in achieving this goal. We did 3 sessions over a period of two weeks. There was huge improvement with Henrys ability to stay focused and behave on leash walks so we all could enjoy being outside. I know it is a cliche but truly Gabriel is a dog whisperer...He comes to claim that title based on a huge amount of experience, his individualized approach with each dog and his own calmness of spirit. We can’t recommend Pawmos highly enough! Our dog was completely mesmerized by Gabriel, who has a way with pups like I’ve never seen before. Willie, our pup, had been trained before, but we didn’t have much success when the trainer wasn’t actually there. Gabriel was able to provide practical tips that we could use after he left- and remained available for follow up questions along the way. We were thrilled to have Gabriel successfully navigate Willie’s behavior for us because we had a baby on the way and didn’t want a dog who misbehaved around the baby. The baby arrived and Willie has been great. After our work with Gabriel, we finally felt like we were really able to train Willie — rather than Willie training us!

Weve loved working with the team at Pawmos for daily midday walks for our pup! Gabriel is amazing. Hes been a huge help with our dog Charleton and is very good at passing his knowledge, skills, and temperament onto me, my wife, and canine. We cant say enough good things about him as a person and trainer as well as his genuine care that our pet gets better.Even though he makes everything look so easy, Gabriel understands his wisdom takes time to get the hang of and has been very patient through this whole process. Gabriel and his crew are total lifesavers! I cant explain how much theyve helped us and how above and beyond they went to help us with our pup.Our adopted terrier mix Louie had developed some behavioral issues, and was constantly lunging and barking at any and all dogs on the street. His problems were getting worse and worse and after he refused to even let a dog walker into the apartment without lunging and barking, we were beginning to lose hope that things would ever improve.... until we met Gabriel!Due to a scheduling issue on our end, I ended up having to reschedule our initial training appointment for the following weekend via email. Gabriel called me back within minutes, assured me that it was no problem, immediatley drove across Brooklyn in the pouring rain to meet us, and greeted us with a smile on his face!After only a few minutes with Gabriel and his dog, our pups attitude had totally changed for the better, no barking, no lunging, just a calm and happy dog. It was a miracle!Gabriel is such a great communicator, both with Louie and us as his owners. He explained clearly, and simply, what we were doing that was causing our pup to become anxious and after demonstrating for a few blocks, Louies leash walking was 99% better! Back at our apartment, Gabriel took the time to make sure that we fully understood everything he had showed us.The techniques and tips that Gabriel has showed us, both with how to walk our dog correctly, and how to make him feel more comfy and less anxious in our home, has changed our pups (and our) lives. I never knew how much of our pups anxiety was coming from me! Once I changed some of my own bad habits and behavior, Louie became a much happier dog and, in turn, reduced my own stress that was causing his anxiety!When we told Gabriel about our pups history of difficulty with dog walkers, Gabriel couldnt have been more helpful and hands-on as well. He personally came back to our apartment to introduce and get Louie comfortable with his dog walker Nick (now our pups best friend!) and spent a long time making sure they were a perfect fit. Nick knew exactly how to work with our pup and is a total professional, we couldnt be happier with him and know that our special little guy is in good hands. Now Louie looks forward to his daily walks with his new furry friends!

If you need help with your pup, look no further - Gabriel is truly something special. Our puppy Remi had real issues walking on a leash when other dogs are present due to his extreme excitement - something truly difficult to control in NYC, where there are dogs walking outside pretty much at all times! When Remi would see a dog, he would either pull hard towards the dog or simply plant his feet and fixate. This made walking outside extremely difficult, and we worried that over time this behavior could lead to aggression. We didn’t think we would see a result after one session but Gabriel had Remi walking by other dogs with no tension on the leash within minutes of stepping outside! Gabriel did a wonderful job explaining the difference between training and behavior, teaching us how to communicate non-verbally through leash pressure, and showing us how to properly de-escalate Remi’s excitement around other dogs to produce a long-lasting change in his behavior.From that one session, he gave us concrete strategies to implement when approaching a dog on the street, and showed us how to break Remi’s fixation, which immediately helped in resolving our walking issue. It has been about a month since our session with Gabriel and Remi is doing SO much better! By consistently applying Gabriel’s advice, we have seen a gradual but definite change in Remi’s behavior around dogs. He is able to be calm around other dogs. We are correcting him far less overall, and he is able to walk by other dogs with a lot of ease! Not perfect, but a true change in behavior takes time, and we are a lot more confident now thanks to Gabriel’s guidance. Book your session!!
