Had the best time with the kitties. They are everywhere and they love treats.Getting there was super easy as well as the process to check in. Half an hour is enough time to go around give them some pets and maybe find one to play with for a bit if you are not planning on taking any home (tho I can assure you it’s super hard not to). They also have 🐰Wonderful experience!

Very cute spot and a lovely place to spend some time with their cats and kittens. Cats are up for adoption and there is an approval process. I would recommend reserving your tickets ahead of time if you can because it seems they’re strict on the entry and exit times. You have 30 minute sessions.I wouldn’t call it a cafe since they don’t really make drinks but you can buy bottled water or coffee. Love the atmosphere and their cats are so sweet and playful.

Oh my goodness, I had so much fun here. Our household lost our beloved cat to cancer a few weeks ago and I was the only one ready to go… and I was nervous at first. But it was good for me in the end to see cats of various ages doing their meowy things, petting a few of them and giving them treats. I’ll definitely become a regular.

I took my daughter to this place, because she’s obsessed with cat. When we arrived, I didn’t know that we have to have a reservation, better have one! Cause it’s always full in the weekend. But, the staff were very nice and helpful they really made us felt welcome. It’s so relaxing, and my daughter just loving it, so excited!! She’s the one took all the pictures, made sure no cat left behind. She wanted to adopt all these cuties. Get some treats, they’ll love it and following you. We already have cat at home. But, yes.. we definitely will come again.

OMG...I am a Cat lady who currently does not have cats. I am also a person who suffers from depression and anxiety, I made a choice today to try and get some natural serotonin and the Cafe did not disappoint. I booked my reservation online (3 dollars less then walk in price). When you enter youre checked in, explained the rules and then given a little card with your end time and the few rules you were told. Theres a screen door with a worker who allows you in and ensures no kitties escape. There was a lovely mix of Cats, some sleeping, some playing and some just walking around. There was a decent amount of people in the Cafe but it did not feel crowded. Theres some light tunes playing and plenty of places to sit and interact with Cats. There were some really beautiful cats i got to meet. I will definitely be back.

Pros: cute looking cats, nice ambiance and environmentCons: came during 5pm (which is during the adults ONLY period yet there were two children inside the cafe…) cats were mostly napping and interaction with them was very hard (unless u purchased the treats bag) imo $12 for 30min with minimal interaction is expensive and I would not probably come back because they did not follow the adults only hour :DI see the business replying to other people’s reviews, yet I have not received any replies nor explanations. :D

We visited yesterday to check out the cats, my husband and my daughter are cat loversWe made reservations online, we came a little early and it was raining and i asked someone from the door what time we can enter for a 12pm reservation.Someone came out and spoke to us, Idk who she is but she said that they were accepting walk ins and to make a line, so i said we actually have reservation, then she replied to keep that 12pm reservation. In my head if someone had reservation, should that someone be the priority vs the walk in? Anyway… my family and i just moved along and waited until its our time. Didnt want to ruin our family weekend. So we purchased drinks and treats ahead, they have cold and hot drinks to choose from, I recommend just buying the treats for the catsMy daughter enjoyed being there, 30 mins wasnt enough time for her, the space was just right they have several couches and benches for you to sit and they also have bar stools. If you are a cat lover, you will definitely enjoy to be here

Loved this place so much. Super cute and everyone is so nice. The place is pretty spacious. They have turtles rats guinea pigs rabbits and a chinchilla. I don’t think they are for adoption but you def can look at them. The cat are all funny in their own way. The red collar cats are the spicy ones. Hahaha. You get 30 min for 12$. Not bad at all. That is all I basically needed for my mental health. I already have a cat and work as a vet tech. This was a different experience because the cats are healthy and calm.

The Cat Cafe is great - I have visited many times and recently adopted a cat from there. She is amazing and loving her new home. The adoption process was relatively quick and easy while scheduling a pick up date was a little bit frustrating. When going through the adoption process, I was provided with all of her medical records and told multiple times that she is completely healthy. During the pick up, a young woman handed us a plastic bag of dewormer syringes stating that she is totally fine, this was just preventative. As someone who has had cats before, I was confused as to why I would administer preventative medication. The cat cafe was NOT transparent in letting us know that our cat may have worms and that this medication was necessary. It wouldve been great if anyone at the establishment had let us know of this possibility and stressed that she in fact was not 100% healthy as we were told a handful of times.

All of the cats are adoptable which makes it a great way to meet your future cat 🥹 I look forward to visiting again

The Brooklyn cat Café is one of the most amazing cat adoption facilities I have ever been Associated with - The two kittens I adopted were so well socialized and acclimated beautifully to being rehomed with me. The staff has been incredible. One of the kittens had a cough and the Brooklyn cat Café Were in touch with their vets and gave me the medicine to help my kitten get healthy. They remain in touch with me, even for some simple like asking questions about plants and other things. I have nothing but the most amazing praise for Naomi and her staff. I loved it here! I came with my partner to get him to touch a random cat (he doesn’t usually like touching pets) and the staff were so nice! They were all quiet and sweet, informative, but very funny. One of the cats bit me (which isn’t anyone’s fault, the nice staff said she’s known for being a cranky territorial lady) and I was sad because I thought she was cute and she was one of my dream cat breeds. She did let me pet her for a while before deciding she wanted to bite, though. My favorite pet in the store was Tom Holland, Trixie (I think that’s her name, she was a really small black cat that liked to hide under the chair and play with the stick toy) and the very nice orange cat that tried to walk out the door with us and sat in a chair at the front 80% of the time. Every single cat had a different silly name. I will be coming back once I get more allergy meds!!

Very disappointed with the place. My daughter went to The Cat Cafe for her friend’s birthday party. They were taken to the second floor where the kittens are but other orders cats too. My daughter and friends hang out with the kittens, after that they tried to pet the older cats and the one my daughter tried to pet attacked her very badly. Bit her hand and scratched her. My daughter was careful, she put her hand first so the cat sniffed it but then attacked her. After this happened the person that works at the Cat’s Cafe said that she forgot to mentioned that that cat is not friendly. That was a very important information!!!!. We had to do a video call with her doctor since her hand got red and swollen and she was in pain. Her doctor said that cats have a lot of bacteria in their mouth and she was concern that my daughter could have an infection. So now she’s taking antibiotics, her hand is still red, swollen and in pain. She enjoyed the cats, but she didn’t like the place. She found the people that work there or volunteers very dismissive. The place was extremely crowded. And it seems it just turned into a business. The more people they can fit the better and the faster people can leave the better too.

Would highly recommend for any cat lover or enthusiast. I only deducted a star because the attendant in the front foyer was rude upon our exit. My son held the door for 2 seconds too long, and although no cats were trying to get out or even in the vicinity, he had a full on meltdown and practically yelled at my son. If I didn’t have an Uber waiting outside, I would have asked to speak to a manager. His behavior was unwarranted and unprofessional. But other than that, it was a wonderful experience!

Its a great place to spend some time with cats and ask questions. However, 95% of cats for adoption come in pairs, so if you can only get one, youll be out of luck. Also, you pay for 30 min per booking. During a super fast orientation that lasts about 30 seconds, no one mentioned that if you spend more than 30 min at the cafe youll be charged for extra time and this is what happened to us. It was an unpleasant surprise to foot additional bill and I left with a feeling that this detail was omitted form the orientation deliberately.

Definitely get the optional treats (which sponsor a cats vaccinations), as it will get you more attention from the kitties. The cats have colored collars to specify which ones do not invite attention, but most are friendly and loving. They also have turtles, rats, Guinea pigs, and a rabbit. Toys are provided to play with the cats and kittens if desired. Its not a large place and felt crowded at times, but overall we had a great time and my daughter is already asking to go back.

Well worth a visit, especially if you want to adopt, as you get chance to meet your forever friend before committing to anything. I advise a visit during the week rather than at a weekend. There will be less people visiting and so the kittens and cats will be a bit more playful and active. Love this place! I’ve been here a few times with my daughter (she’s now 7, but first visit was when she was 4), and it’s very kid-friendly. I was happy to see that they expanded! We tried out the “kitten party” in addition to the 30 mins with the regular cats. Everything is exactly as described on the website. The kitten party is really cute! It was just the 2 of us, and we sat and played with kittens for 30 mins before heading back down to play with the big cats.I have to admit that I felt like $100 was a bit much to spend for an hour total, but at least it goes to a good cause. We can’t have cats (we have birds!), but my daughter is a huge cat fan, so it’s great to be able to visit and interact with kitties. I would love for my daughter to volunteer here, but sadly you have to be over 18 (makes sense, but my daughter is unusually responsible. She actually reminded me about collar colors as I was petting a red-collared cat who ended up swiping me with his paw 😄).Please note that this is NOT an actual cafe! Again, everything is explained clearly on the website. The staff are WONDERFUL and kind. I’ve asked about various cats and they are all well-informed. They explain everything at the door as well, and now require you to wear shoe covers, which is for the protection of the cats.I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time, since they (thankfully) only let a certain number of people in at a time. Overall, lovely place with lovely people.

It is a rare opportunity when you get to be amongst several animals, in this instance cats, as they go about their day. The cats meander around, looking for engaging humans to hang with, in between their seemingly perpetual nap times. I saw younger cats annoying other cats just for the heck of it and also many cats loving to play and be petted. The environment is well supervised inside a former bar and restaurant. The superb staff offers insights into each cat such as their energy level, their temperament, their age, and what sort of previous stimulation they’ve had in the day. All the cats may be adopted after a thorough vetting application and personal interview. The Cat Cafe commits itself to finding the correct fit between each cat and their human. The modest $15 charged for a 30 minute visit is well worth your time to get your “cat fix” and you may just develop a lifelong relationship with a fellow feline.

BBAWC is a wonderful organization doing good things in Brooklyn. I was a fan of theirs years before the Cafe opened. The Café is a great addition to the neighborhood. The Cafe is divided into different areas. There are rooms for kittens, FIV and FeLV cats. The regular adult cats are in the café area. I did a half hour with the kittens and whats not to love? Little bundles of energy everywhere. 😍 I also did a half hour at the café and mingled with the resident cats, played with a couple of them and offered treats. Its a wonderful spot to spend an hour and do some good while youre there. I think families with older kids would find it fun. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. Will be back again.

So the first time I attempted to go to the Brooklyn Cat Cafe, it was a full house and I was advised to make a reservation since the wait would be for an hour. It wasnt that difficult to make a reservation but they do require you to pay on the spot, which is totally fine!As you step in, youll see an array of snacks you can take in and bottled drinks. Its not so much as a cafe as the name of store says, but more like an open cage cat rescue with a comfy and homey setting. The space was large and there were tons of cats everywhere- ranging from young newborns (who are displayed away from visitors and with a parent) to elderly cats. The staff warned us about some cats with a red collar, indicating they do not appreciate being touched anywhere below the neck but my friends encountered many that were so sweet and friendly! One of them actually fell asleep in my friends lap! There was so many active cats (mostly the young ones) and also so many who were so sweet, friendly and calm. You could choose between playing with them or sitting down while petting them.I do have to say that EVERYONE should take consideration and pay closely attention to every little behavior from all the cats. Many of them can be over stimulated, causing them to snap at you or another cat. This is very cmon behavior within cats so dont be alarmed! Just leave the cat alone if they snap at you, or if they snap at another fellow feline, direct their attention elsewhere.Overall, my experience left me feeling motivated and refreshed. The cats I interacted with were so attentive and enjoyed paying with the toys I offered! So much so that there were 5 cats that I was playing with all at once! The only concern I do have to state is that there isnt very much ventilation, so you can smell the stench of clumping cat litter that it becomes suffocating.

There are few questions confuse me before the visit.First, are there cats? yes, a lot of cats.Second, is there coffee? no...Third, can you play with cats? absolutely. actually, you can feed them also. dont forget to bring quarter. you can buy some snack for cats, but limited as one quarter per person.Well, this is the place you must visit. workers are very friendly. cats are calm, most of them. just enjoy to pet them. you can adopt one if you like. there are applications online.

I actually did go there for the kitties but was surprised to find they also had rabbits, guinea pigs, a pair of turtles and most surprisingly rats! As a rat owner myself and a fan of those other animals too, it was great to see. Most people were crowding around the cute cats (and rightfully so!), so I had more time to interact with the rats. Hamilton, the brown rat is especially friendly and you can hold him, have him sit on your shoulder or snuggle in the bonding scarf. I literally witnessed a child go from saying ew to wanting a pet rat within two mins of holding him. Its also interesting how they are using rats to socialize kittens that are FIV positive. So for rat fans pining for a rat cafe, this is the place to go for as long as they have rats. For cat fans, this is absolutely a great place to go.

This cat cafe lacks common sense when feeding the cats. They are serving their cats friskies, as a cat cafe specialized with cat treatment why are they serving cats low quality meals that are bad for their health? I would question this upon questioning why aren’t we allowed to wear cultural clothing items as well? For example the kuffiyeh is disliked in that place.

The BCC is one of the nicest and best organized cat cafés Ive been to. The space is enormous and beautifully decorated in upcoming, family-oriented, Brooklyn Heights. They are a non-profit and dedicated to placing the animals in good homes. Unlike many cafes, they have a philosophy that believes young children should learn how to behave around animals and handle cats, so they are very kid friendly. Make sure your child understands not all cats want to play, be picked up, or definitely not squeezed! Because of health ordinances they do not actually serve food or drinks. Everyone is super friendly, informative, and most of all the animals are well cared for. They also have the largest bunny Ive ever seen!

The one girl with the long Island accent had a bad attitude — reservations are virtually pointless because they never tell anyone to leave, leading the place to be extremely overcrowded, often by people who seemingly have no respect of others space. Reservations are needless barriers to entry, besides raising money to sustain the business. The time slots for the reservations are irrelevant because there is no control over whether people are arriving or leaving on time, and the front desk provides a lengthy set of rules and regulations before your entry. The remaining staff were friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about the cats, and were open to talking about the cats with anybody passing by.There seemed to be several unattended children, but fortunately staff intervened when a child began throwing a tantrum and screeching, by telling the parents they will need to do something about the child. The amount of children wandering around hitting cats and people in the face with toys was concerning.Unfortunately, this place is not a cafe at all, as there does not appear to be anything to eat besides the cat treats. Water or coffee would have been nice, but we knew what to expect.Lastly, masks are required and sold for a dollar. I hope that this is because they are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of the cats, not that theyre the only business in New York following a mask mandate that is no longer enforced by any business on the block.Over all, the experience was enjoyable as a majority of the staff are friendly, and so are most of the cats; however, Id recommend that the store employs a security guard to actually address some of the overcrowding and make the reservations actually have a purpose besides charging $10 per person. On the face of things, youd expect the $10/30 minutes per person to be a solid way to raise money and reduce crowding, but it doesnt. Dedicated staff to address this would fix this problem. My last comment would be — serve food, water... Something! Assuming, of course, the masks are for the people.

We recently visited the Brooklyn cat cafe and although staff was very nice and the concept and idea is great, there are a few things which were a bit disappointing and hopefully my feedback could lead to some improvements! It’s definitely a great idea, the Brooklyn cat cafe sign was cute and the staff were very kind, you can tell they treat the animals with respect and love. One thing which was not great was the smell, and I get it, there are cats and litter/food however I was expecting a bit more of a clean and modern aesthetic given the price and reviews.Secondly, one would expect a cafe to have better drink options, especially if you’re paying 4$ for a drink! there was no service for drinks, you just pour yourself and go. And there was no actual coffee machine… just hot water and instant coffee/packets of tea or hot chocolate. I wish somebody had written that in the reviews before i had experienced this. I’ve been to many cat cafes where they serve cute drinks to add to the experience.Overall, it’s was more like a pet shop/cute spot to see cats and maybe adopt one but definitely does not have the vibe of a “cat cafe”.Hopefully some of this would be taken into consideration to elevate the experience of being in a cat cafe!

We visited today and were quite disappointed with the experience. Like a previous reviewer mentioned, my child was told to lower her voice, which I found quite upsetting. If children are expected to be quiet, then the establishment should clearly state that it isn’t kid-friendly and reconsider charging children the regular entrance fee.A friend of mine felt so uncomfortable that she didn’t even complete her 30-minute reservation because a staff member kept enforcing rules in an overly strict manner. This made the visit unenjoyable for everyone.Overall, if you’re planning to visit with kids, be aware that this place might not be as welcoming as youd hope.

They are very strict on the exact time you go in (if you book at 2pm you won’t go a minute in before 2) and if you should be out by 2:30pm you better be out by 2:29pm. The cats at the cafe are well taken care of, and its a clean nice space. The staff at the cafe was helpful too, they introduced us to the correct cats that would work for us. We clearly indicated that we were there to meet cats and see whos a great fit for adoption. My only issue is its a bit too overwhelming with so many people around to figure out if youd bond well with a cat. And the quieter kitties definitely get a short end of the stick, since its so overwhelming. Maybe a small quieter room/limited access corner would be much better suited for them instead of open access to all people to all cats. But something about their process is amiss. I mean if we are spending like $30+ for barely 30mins I think the least is we get a better feel for adoption, especially if we inquire about a particular cat at the cafe. All the questions are stonewalled with a well the board will see your references and approve adoption. No idea is given if the cat has applications for ots adoption pending. Post visit too barely any communication. We were told the most delay is getting references in. Well our references were in, in like max 2 days after visit. Still the response for the particular application was 15days after application. Honestly would prefer better communication in between. Even my overrun city shelter in midwest tells us that there are applications pending so that it sets correct expectations with adopters. And also communicate in between too. After this weird experience I spoke to a few folks around me, well guess what they had very bad and rude experiences with them. Even post adoption they are rude and do not communicate correctly about the cats preferences or any info they have about them.

We love the Brooklyn Cat Cafe! We visited twice recently and had a great time interacting with several of the kitties there. The main cafe area is spacious and comfortable with many places for cats to play, hide, and sleep. Admissions are limited to avoid overcrowding and reservations (while not strictly required) and strongly advised. Staff is pleasant and there are CATS! EVERYWHERE!1!What more could you ask for? 😹While some cat cafes cater to feeding and entertaining humans, with roaming felines more as ambulatory decor, the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is on a mission. With few exceptions, the cats youll meet at the cafe are available for adoption. The adoption application is thorough without being tedious, these folks just want cats in good homes. We wanted to help in a more impactful way too, so we also signed up to their foster network and are currently watching our first crew of kittens.Whether you just want to pet some kitties for an hour or are looking for a lifelong companion (or two! Kittens are only adopted in pairs) the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a great place to support.

Although I had more questions about adopting I was worried that hanging back to chat to someone about it would take us over our 30 minute limit and we’d be charged an additional $12/person for that time. For many people looking to adopt is a very emotional process and is often coupled with loss/ grief. This is the first place I’ve been to since the death of my senior cat 2 years ago, and I was so disappointed. Ultimately the concept is cool and it’s nice to go see cats in an environment that’s comfortable for them - wish the staff cared enough to make their visitors comfortable too, especially when it makes the difference between bringing a cat home or going somewhere else.

But what they did do was release the cats they TNRed back into a horrible situation where there are NO feeders and NO shelters set up for these cats. They lied multiple times in their posts about “Well-managed colonies” which they DO NOT manage and do not feed these cats or take care of these cats. They simply got paid and wiped their hands clean of these poor and innocent cats. What a shame to portray yourselves as a rescue when you released these cats back into a death sentence. Take that money and use it to help these cats long-term instead of letting them die in the same environment you yourselves complained about! Shame on you guys. Oh and turn your comments back on so your followers can hear the truth about these cats from people that actually go and see the situation they are in.

Excited about the possibility of adopting a cat, I had a discussion about the adoption process. However, the experience took a turn for the worse when, just five minutes after purchasing a $5 bag of treats, I was abruptly halted on my way out and informed that Id be charged for an extra 30 minutes of stay. What added to the frustration was the absence of any warning about my sessions end. I wasnt actively monitoring the clock while playing with cats, and it would have been a courtesy for someone to mention that my time was up. Instead, the staff member chose to charge my credit card for the treats without giving me a heads up that there will be an extra charge for staying longer. Selling me treats with the knowledge that it would result in additional charges is a low blow money-grabbing tactic.Despite having visited the cafe before, this encounter has left such a negative impression that this will be my last visit.

I thought this would be like a shelter or adoption clinic, but as the name suggests, its a cafe. Lots of kids around when I went on the weekend so it seemed the cats were on alert. Some beautiful cats though, cleary well cared for.

Really cool concept, it was fun visiting all the different cats there — it would be great if there were more options for the humans that visit (I.e. coffee, lounge-ware, etc) that would give us more of an incentive to stay longer than the first round that you pay for! Please — we want to spend our money here!Other than that, good on them for housing so many good cats that deserve homes!

Cat lovers should boycott this sham of a rescue. They get paid to TNR the cats at Ravenswood. Instead of allowing them to be rehomed in sanctuaries they are released back to die in now cemented shut crawl spaces. They only care about $$, and don’t give a damn about the innocent cats.

It was very cool to see the cats and play around with them. For the pricing. No one explained that if you stayed past a certain time you will get charged 12$ per person. It was very misleading. The staff walked around reminding people they could buy treats but no one reminded or told me that there would be extra charge. When I explained to the staff I didn’t know. They didn’t even try to understand where I was coming from since it was my first time and I still got charged extra.

I hate to leave a negative review, especially for a nonprofit, but their negligent actions towards the cats at a housing project leave me no choice. This “rescue” group TNRd cats and returned them to an UNSAFE environment. They knew it was unsafe. The cats are now stuck and will likely starve to death.

Such a sweet concept, nice large space and also a non profit. It is a real cat sanctuary in the way that they can roam freely and live a normal, happy life. There are also turtles, Guinea pigs, chinchillas and mice all available for adoption.Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

The second we went inside, my daughter was immediately adopted by Salvage, who claimed her as his own for the remainder of the visit. She didnt mind and was very happy with all the attention. 🥰I will say this, though: Ive been training with kiddo to be around different pets/animals all her life, so she already knew how to act and behave with the cats, both friendly and spicy alike (i.e. let them come to you first, dont scream/be loud, do not make sudden movements, to treat them with care, etc). If your kids are not well-versed or dont have pets of their own, this would not be a good experience for them or the cat hosts, so maybe bring them when theyre older.

SET AN ALARM ON YOUR PHONE for a few minutes before your check-out time. Otherwise, you will be charged an extra $10 each for going over your explicit check-out time (yes, even if its just 2 minutes). By the time you wait for others to check in ahead of you, get any extras you paid for, leave your belongings at the door, and retrieve your belongings before you check out, you will only have about 20 minutes with the cats. I had assumed since I entered the cafe a few minutes after the start time, that I could stay a few minutes extra. Boy was I wrong. Its all going to a good cause, but it left a bad taste in my mouth right as I left the cafe, which made me not want to come back. That being said, the cats and the place itself is lovely. To folks who grumble that many cats are asleep: well, theyre cats. And they are being constantly stimulated from opening til closing time. There were about five to eight other people in the room with me, so the awake cat-to-human ration was rather off. But again, this is about the cats, so help them out by donating and socializing with them!FYI, this cat cafe doesnt serve food or beverages, its just a name. For comparisons sake, Koneko Cat Cafe, in the Lower East Side, allows you an hour with the cats and also serves tea and pastries. I hope the treats we give the cats here are just dry food, or else these cats are being fed way too many treats, which cant be healthy.

This place and the people are exceptional. They are truly for the animals and put their heart and soul into saving and caring for every single cat and kitten. I love walking in there and seeing how happy and well cared for these cats are. They always look well cared for, and are playing!! I truly recommend this place for adoption/Foster, and donations. It’s well worth it and will help a cat/kitten in need. Thank you BK Cat Cafe staff for your tireless, and devoted work to these precious babies!!!!!

The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a safe, clean, well run sanctuary for kitties waiting for adoption. The rainy Saturday afternoon I came was booked solid and while it felt a little crowded, it was a manageable level of busy for kitties to feel safe, take a nap, and scamper about. I think there were 15 kitties about, sitting on the bar, hanging out in the rafters, taking naps on cozy beds, and strutting around. Some cats are very friendly, some are shy and hide a bit. Remember that youre there to help the cats get socialized and like humans, dont expect them to crawl in your lap and chill. There are vases around with rainbow string wands, jingle balls, and you can buy cat treats to sweeten up the fuzzy friends. They staff and volunteers rotate the cats during the day so no cat gets overwhelmed, which I appreciated. There was a mama with five week old kittens in the front, in a plexiglass case to fawn over (but no touching). They also had a very chill rabbit, guinea pig, a family of rats, and a turtle/fish tank. There is a private room if youre looking to bond with a particular cat youre hoping to adopt. You can buy drinks here, but not food. There is no age limit for kids, but I highly recommend you have a good long talk with them about what being a nice human looks like. Restroom was clean. The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a 501(c)3 non-profit so all proceeds go toward cat care. If youre the volunteering sort, they have opportunities to give your time and affection too.Highly recommend reservations online in advance. Slots are 30 minutes. If you want more than one slot, you have to check out multiple times, which is not UX friendly, but I guess it also helps them with turnover.

The volunteer staff were always so welcoming, the place is very clean and well kept and the cats are happy and healthy. I just adopted from them my baby boy Fritz and the whole adoption process was very thorough but smooth. They really take amazing care of the cats and do holy work. I adopted my two cats from the cat cafe in 2018 and had a stellar experience. Recently my sister adopted two cats from the cafe-one of whom needed some specialized medical attention while I was caring for the cat while my sister was away. The cat cafe provided incredible support to me in helping care for my sisters cats during this acute medical crisis and assisted me in providing the needed treatment with compassion and kindness when they absolutely had no obligation to do so. They go above and beyond.

Speaking strictly about their paid TNR work, BCC is releasing cats back into dangerous situations with no plan for feeding or sheltering them. Have they ended the cycle of endless litters? Yes. Have they eliminated the suffering for these cats? No. These cats will go hungry or get caught in buildings by the equally delinquent NYCHA employees, leaving them to literally starve to death. There is zero reason why this should be happening.

I visited the Brooklyn Cat Cafe today and absolutely loved it. I met a lot of the cats I have come to know on their Instagram and loved playing with them. I originally booked a half hour but decided to book more time once I got settled in and met some of the cats. I went pretty much right at opening and that seemed like a good time to meet some of the shyer cats.

I LOVE animals and I stayed for only 15 minutes....I was really exited to come with my niece and find a new kitten. The gentleman at the door was great, he helped make the experience nice and the plan was to leave with an adoption plan but soon after we entered the cat area our experience went downhill. One issue that had nothing specifically to do with the staff was there was a teen ( her mother signed her in and left) who kept blocking my niece every time she tired to engage with a cat. It was frustrating for my niece and she stopped trying to engage with the animals. The staff issue that was a turn off for me was when I asked one of the women about adoption the conversation was awkward and I felt like the only way to adopt was to adopt 2 at a time as they believe in bonding the animals. I get bonding, idk, it just all felt weird and pretentious speaking to her so we left it was really disappointing.I wish I could have had a longer conversation with the gentleman who checked us in, he was really friendly and informative, out conversation was cut short because he had to sign in other parties.

Amazing little gem. My normal vet wanted both arms and a leg to spay my cats. I paid $294 at Brooklyn Cat Cafe to spay two female cats. They also got a flea treatment, dewormer to take home, vaccination, an e collar, a felv/fiv test, and a nail trim. My cats are doing great. The staff is very professional, and you can tell they really care about the cats. Also, inside are cats available for adoption, and their setup for them is phenomenal. If youre looking for a kitten or a cat. Check them out, and if you can, please donate. They are doing a huge community service for people, their pets, and the strays.Edit: This place is getting as expensive as the vet. I thought they were a gem, especially for people who cant afford the cost associated with a vet. I will look to update pictures of my previous cost and then a screenshot of what they are charging now. Big difference, same service. 💔

Took us a long time to mature to adopting a pet, we have two kids (5 and 8). I have had a previous bad experience with an ASPCA shelter we got our last cat from so I was very happy to find a cool alternative. We booked a session at the cafe (I think it was $10 per person for 30min you can extend if you want on site) more to see how kids will interact around cats. We did no go in planing on adopting sooner rather we’re thinking of it for later. The universe had other plans and we fell in love with a 6 month old kitty. Our visit was on Saturday and by Friday following week we had two cats moving in. Application is very in depth and it does ask for 3 references and expect them to be contacted, took about 5-6 days to go through. The cafe was very nice and cozy, you can tell the cats were comfy and happy there. You can feed them treats, and they have toys available to play with them. Overall the adoption process was awesome, I felt supported they contact you with a sponsor whom you can email if you have any questions. Same goes with any medical questions regarding the cats, ours had an extended cold and they helped us deal with it offering their vet services. You do a trail with the cat/cats and if it doesn’t work for some odd reason you have the option to find a better fit etc. I liked that a lot too.Kittens up to a certain age are only released in pairs, as they just do better that way socially and learning wise. I think total for the two kitties we got was $350-$400, it is a donation that goes towards paying for the services the cats received here. They are neutered/spayed, get their shots, regular vet care and most of all dewormed and flee free! It sounds like a lot but is not if you ask me.Thanks cat cafe for our beautiful furever kitties!

Great experience...made a walk in appointment to spend 30 minutes with my girlfriend, and her 2 children. We were accommodated as we were unaware we needed to make an appointment online. We had traveled from Delaware to visit this Cat Cafe, since my girlfriends daughter loves cats. This is not an actual cafe. No food or drinks allowed. The cats are the main attraction, and you can purchase food for the cats. If youre in to cats then this is the place for you. Youll love it. Im not a cat person, but interacting with the cats inspired me to be more welcoming.

Loved the kittens and staff was nice, but paid $200 for a “private” kitten party in a repurposed storage room occupied by people doing construction. kittens were scared by drilling and loud noises, and i wish they’d just cancelled our appointment or the cable work instead of trying to do both at the same time and hoping we wouldn’t say anything.
