My Toy Shorkie’s haircut was totally BOTCHED!!! I showed a picture of how I wanted her hair cut. Below are the before and after pictures. My baby’s hair is down to the skin (she looks like a Spinx cat including her tail). My family and friend are so upset by the way she looks, and is acting. She is so uncomfortable with such a drastic hair loss, she hides, and isn’t herself. NEVER AGAIN!!!
I recently took my beloved dog Sebastian to Pawlour for grooming, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Sebastian, who can sometimes be a bit anxious, seemed surprisingly comfortable and at ease with his groomer. The groomer at Pawlour was not only skilled and knowledgeable but also showed a genuine love and care for animals. They took the time to understand Sebastians specific needs and preferences, ensuring that he was comfortable throughout the entire grooming process. I was impressed with their patience and gentle approach, which helped build trust between Sebastian and the groomer. They addressed Sebastians whining with patience and understanding, creating a calm and soothing atmosphere. Their ability to handle Sebastians anxiety and make him feel at ease speaks volumes about their expertise and dedication to their craft. The two-person staff at Pawlour are attentive, making sure that all of our needs were met and that we felt valued as customers.Based on my experience, I would give Pawlour a solid 5-star rating. The exceptional care and attention that Sebastian received, along with the welcoming staff, make it a top-notch grooming salon. If youre looking for a place where your furry friend will be treated with love and care, Pawlour is definitely the place to go.
How do you make an appointment here? I’ve called a few times and haven’t been able to get a hold of anyone. I left a detailed message every time as instructed and even came by and knocked on the door. This place came highly recommended to me, but is this normal? Any help you can provide would be wonderful. Thanks!
Excellent results! Terry is incredibly kind and professional. My dog is terrified of everything, but Terry did an amazing job with her and she came out looking better than ever. Terry is quick to respond/schedule and is reachable. We found our fur-ever groomer :)
Great pricing, great timing, she heard our concerns and respected our wishes to leave his golden retriever fringe. Indiana came out looking so refreshed and clean in his new summer cut. Thank you so much!
Took my black lab/ collie mix to get a brush, bath, and trim. He needed a lot of work. Took 2 hrs but he looked fantastic! Treated very well by a very nice staff and was even given a new bandana! Highly recommended!
I took my cat Whitman here to get his nails trimmed, and Pawlour did a great job at a very reasonable price. I was worried he would be anxious or resist the groomer, but they did a great job keeping him calm and happy.
My Dog Sparkie is a rescue and has very high anxiety. Whenever I tell him were going to see Terry he gets so excited. We love the Pawlour and have been going there for 4+ years now. He doesnt sit like that for just anyone!
Very thoughtful service and kept me up to date on how the grooming was going. Recommend if you’re in the area!
We have a 70lb Shepherd who can be very anxious plus we’ve yet to have anyone be able to successfully trim her nails. Pawlour did it easily and gave her a thorough bath all for $85...and it only took roughly an hour and 45 minutes. Her coat is now very sleek and shiny and her temperament afterwards was nothing short of jubilant the entire walk home. You always worry about how dogs will respond when you drop them off in a new place but she certainly handled it well. I would highly recommend them!
Friendly always busy...but they do accommodate my dog. We have been coming here approximately 3 years. The owners truly love animals, they’re kind and have patience with the pets. My cousins have been bringing their fur baby here for many years and I now agree with them…I wouldn’t take my fur baby anywhere else. The prices are very reasonable.
I brought my long-haired chihuahua into Pawlour for the first time yesterday. He is a very old rescue dog, approx 15 years old, so I get nervous about taking him for a haircut, even though he feels much better all cleaned up. Anyway, I called Pawlour and they had availability the very next day. His shampoo and cut took about 90 minutes and was so reasonably priced that I almost thought it was a mistake. I could also tell that my pup had been cared for and treated gently. I wont go anywhere else. Thank you, Pawlour!
I only leave positive reviews of businesses I really admire in an attempt to share some positivity in this crazy world, and the Pawlour is one of those places! I’ve been bringing my long haired cat to the Pawlour for a haircut every 4-6 months for three years now and won’t go anywhere else! Not every grooming place knows how to take care of cats, but Terry and the rest of the staff are so gentle and respectful of the animals and always do a great job! Highly recommend :)
Took my longer haired cat here for his first ever grooming and to get some of the hair around his bum trimmed so he stayed clean. I picked this place because the price was reasonable, but I was worried how my cat would do as he’s hated every attempt to bathe him. When they called for me to pick him up I was worried he’d be a nervous wreck, but instead I found him happily lounging in the sun. The woman was great with him, he’s the cleanest he’s ever been, and she shaved him exactly as I had asked. Will definitely be coming back!
Asian woman is great she cut my dog ebony hair good every time Ebony loves going there and her price is great 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Ive brought my border collie here twice for short cuts. They did an excellent job and my dog, who hates to be brushed, is perfectly happy going there. The last time I went the guy who groomed him did an excellent job. My dog has a skin condition that makes his skin scaley. The groomer managed to get the scales off, which Im sure made my dog feel better.
This place is great. I have taken my dog here dozens of times and have been very pleased. I have a large shepherd mix that sheds a lot and after the grooming her shedding is gone; they really give a real good brushing and blowout! Ive recommended my neighbor who takes his two dogs, a yorkie and a perkingese, and these little guys have also gone dozens of times for haircuts. The all get a cute bandana when they leave! I went here because it was so much more affordable than the other groomers in park slope and i need to go once a month, so I wanted something that fit my budget.I think Terry, the owner, has a special way with dogs (and cats apparently, but I dont know because I dont have a cat). I like her and I like her place.
They are so amazing with all of our animals! They are super sweet, kind, and patient here. I can not for the life of me cut my cats nails, and they can do it in 5 seconds here, no whining or anything from the cats. They are also great with our dogs, and we love the bandanas they get after a bath!
I called to make an appointment and asked how much it would be for a 40 lb terrier mix and they said $60. Amazed at the price for this neighborhood, I made an appointment.I walked over and the two people working weren’t doing anything when I got there, just sitting there on their phones. I actually thought they were closed at first. I live in the neighborhood and asked them to call me when they were done and I’d be there right away. The guy who was apparently doing the grooming kept saying “just come in 2 hours” and for some reason didn’t want to call me, so I left and came back 2 hours later. I could see in the back that they had not yet started grooming him. They groomed him in the 25 minutes that i waited and it is legit the worst haircut I have ever seen - it’s just still extremely long in random places and the hair on his ears weren’t cut at all. They ended up trying to charge me $85 and lowered it to $75 when I had told them I specifically called them and informed them of the size of my dog when I asked for a price. Honestly just a bizarre experience.
They did great with my huge long haired cat. He had horrible mats around his privates and hard to reach areas. They trimmed him right up and also gave him a bath. They were done pretty quickly and kept him in my crate while I drove over to get him. Cash only.
I am so grateful to have found Terry and her crew. My rescue pup is a biter, and finding someone willing to groom him has not been an enjoyable process. He always looks great after going to Pawlour, and they accept his limitations and even compliment him (when he probably doesnt deserve it!).
Always get a decent cut on my shih tzu. Shes super fussy but they handle her with care. She always looks cute and smells great after. Price is pretty good, on par with other groomers and relatively quick. Cash only.
I have taken my Pomeranian there several times this summer for a summer cut. I have always had a very nice groomer who was an Asian woman: she did a great job and knew that Poms are not supposed to be cut too short because sometimes their hair will not grow back.I took in my dog today and the owner Terri was the groomer. I asked for the dogs hair to be evened out, not too short because fall/winter is coming. I basically picked up a Chihuahua with a fluffy tail! She shaved him so short that you could see the clipper lines, and to top it off- its not even. He has some bald spots and some random long hair. Despite the fact that she was very apologetic, we did not pay and we will not go back!
I’ve been going to Terry for 10 years. She is kind and really cares about dogs! Even after moving out of Brooklyn I continued to bring my doggos here!
I really love my dogs hair cut. Thank you so much. Very professional. I asked for hair cut not to short and she looks exactly like I wanted and for a good price.
Very friendly people! Great service and wonderful outcome. My before and after...
My girlfriend tried to explain how she wanted our dogs haircut but he insisted he knew what he was doing. “You’re going to love it!” I will definitely be leaving a sweater on him for the next couple of months. His hair is so uneven, its embarrassing.
I just took my cat here for the first time today. I asked for a lion cut and they did a great job. The people are very nice and care about the animal. I highly recommend them.
We take our rescue here to see Eric. We have been told by other groomers that she is impossible and bites but Eric is great with her and has never had a problem! We are still going here despite the near hour long drive from our new apartment!
Really great experience for our fluffy, long haired Turkish Angora, Puddy. He was in need of a thorough wash & groom. He went in looking like an old man and came out as a funky hip kitty! He was so calm during the groom which was down to the amazing groomers at the Pawlour. We will definitely be bringing Puddy back.
They accommodated last minute before new years, which was great. When I came to pick up my pet, I was pretty disappointed with her grooming. She had uneven trims around her whole body and face. It felt as if she wasnt even washed throughly. I would not recommend this place.
I have brought my dog here twice for grooming.Let me separate the experiences:The first time was when she had an eye infection and I needed the groomer to clean up the hair around the eyes in particular. I also requested the panda special; my dog has black and white fur and the sweetest and most human face- dont hate.Upon inspection of the cut, there were some stray hairs around the face that needed to be re-done. The Japanese lady groomer took care of it. When we got home, I realized the area around her eyes had been trimmed a little too closely to her skin. There were some bald spots around the eyes. You probably couldnt see it at first glance, but I like to stare at my dog in a creepy fashion. It took a little while for it to grow out, but once it did, well, you can see my picture for reference. She did resemble a much cuter version of a panda. The second time around, I asked the male groomer for a bear face, rounded out on the face, while keeping at least an inch of hair all over her body and leaving the length on the ears. He did a pretty good job of the face sculpting; I would say she looked better than the first appointment. Once again, we had to clean up the stray hairs a bit. However, when we arrived home, because I had been so fixated on the face, I noticed a dried red spot on my dogs body. I realized that it was blood- the groomer had nicked one of my dogs warts. I was not so happy with that. My poor baby looked at me sadly as I cleaned up her wound. I understand that accidents can happen, but part of grooming should be to check for possible issues. If I had reviewed it after the first time, Pawlour might have received 4 stars. The good thing about this place is that my dog doesnt seem depressed after a cut here. The groomers seemed to have amassed many years of experience. I have tried numerous grooming places where my dog would be locked up for hours- from opening time until her mid-afternoon pick-up. She would then give me a death glare and major attitude for the rest of the night. Pawlour finished both times within the 3.5 hour mark. Its also fairly easy to get an appointment; I called the day of and was able to secure a spot. This is probably attributed to the fact that it is still a fairly new business. On a side note, I believe that all the grooming places in the area raised their prices by at least $10, including The Pawlour.I havent decided if I want her to return to this grooming salon. It seems like you have to communicate down to a tee on what you want, which is fine, but there should be space left for the unexpected. All I want is for my dog to have a happy, cute, and most importantly, a safe grooming. I think Pawlour would reap the benefits of being more focused.
I’m baffled by the positive reviews…this is the worst grooming place that my dogs have been to in the past 20 years. Jaw dropping that they charge $150 for such shoddy, unprofessional work.
Very AFFORDABLE! High QUALITY service and very Efficient with scheduling! Would recommend them for anyone in the neighborhood. Great customer service to top it off.
My Pomeranian got a gorgeous haircut here. He is happier than when I dropped him off! We will definitely be coming back.
Pawlour is the best! Great prices and quality grooming, best in Brooklyn.
Kind and gentle with my senior dog and I am always very pleased with the result! Great prices and very friendly and professional staff!
I brought my 7 month old doodle here and he had the best time. He was in such good hands and came out looking exactly as I had asked. Plus they gave him an adorable bandana! Highly recommend.
They are very good at what they do. My dog was happy and calm and came out of his grooming looking gorgeous.
Very Attentive, great grooming, reasonable prices...
They double booked our appointment. But took our dog anyway. But when we got our baby back he was clean but the cut was choppy rushed and uneven. Just ugly. Never again.
Came here once for my cat - good service and they were great with her even though she hates to be groomed. Would recommend highly.
Always do a great job and so kind with our puppy! Definitely recommend.
They always do SUCH an amazing job here. I take both my dogs here for their yearly haircut.
By far the best place for dog grooming i know.
Always very gentle with our nervous pup. We feel lucky to have a reliable place like this close-by.
Great dog groomer! Been using them for 7 years, always consistent and professional.
Friendly & awesome groomer. Eric grooms both of our dogs and they love him!
Women was extremely rude for HER MISTAKE ON TIME. Did a careless haircut on my pup and never answers the phone.
Wonderful people. They do a great job and my dog loves them@
My dog have been going to the Pawlour for 3 years now, great service each time.
My cat is not the most friendly fact...I was hesitant to send her out to get a really HuGE mat off of her back...Pawlor did wonders!
I dont think this place is open any more. Ive been calling and leaving messages for about a week, and no answer. Their website is pretty content less as well.
I have brought my dog dolly here several times and always love it. Thanks!
Great, caring peopleOut dog looked beautiful when she was done.
Excellent! Terry and Eric love dogs and provide fine grooming services. I would not go anywhere else
I have gone to Pawlour with two very difficult dogs (I volunteer at an animal shelter). Not only was she able to cut/bathe/trim nails, but when I came and picked up the dogs they were happy, relaxed and looking gorgeous.Terry is smart and good at what she does. I thank God I can bring dogs to a place where they get love, understanding and patience. And I will say, she teaches me a thing or two every time I pick up the little guys.I am so grateful :)
They made my dog King feel great 😍
Great job, reasonable prices, nice people, know how to handle my dogs temperament.
My pup looked so good after her appointment!! Good pricing!! Will be back soon!!
Wonderful! Affordable, great at what they do and, most importantly, the dog loves going there!
Past hx & specific groomer very offensive and unresponsive.
Ive been taking albert my mini snauzer here for years and they never do a bad job. Always treat him with care, i can tell because hes calm going there and happy coming out.
Excellent cut and very good deal
Terry is the best!
