Well over due for writing a rave review for these folks. Been taking my Pomeranian here for well over a year now and he looks great every time. The staff is always very gentle with him and even though my dog isn’t a big fan of getting haircuts, they do a great job every time.

My first ever experience with a groomer and won’t need to go anywhere else as long as I’m in NYC. Fair and transparent prices (available at the front desk) and they treated my pup so well. She came back pristine and so happy & calm. They even have her a cute little seasonal bandana upon pick up. Will be back!

We’ve tried several groomers and our pup always leaves stressed and anxious. This time was so different, she was happy and didn’t want to leave the groomer. I can’t speak highly enough of this business, they really care for the pets and do an exceptional job with the grooming. Will definitely be back.

My boys (Shitzu- 9 yrs old & Poochon- 1 yr old), and I were in search for a new Grooming home, and we are happy we found this place. My boys, and I were greeted with kindness. They were comfortable entering, and appeared even happier when leaving which is a good sign. Their haircuts were the best they’ve received, and we’ve tried a few places. My boys looked great & happy! I have no doubts they were treated well. Dogs have a way of communicating how they feel through their mood, and energy level. My boys were just as energized and in good spirits when they left as they were when they arrived. See pics, aren’t they the cutest!

Just picked up my cockapoo from Carroll Gardens Pet Grooming and I am so happy with her new haircut. Amanda gave her an adorable style cut and I am very pleased, shes so fluffy and soft!The bows were a nice little touch.Amanda was very friendly and listened to what I wanted my dog to look. Highly recommend this establishment. Thank you!

I’ve been taking my dog here for a little over a year now and time after time they have proved to be the absolute best. My family has had Tibetan Terriers for 15 years and I’ve never found a groomer who is as professional and accommodating as Amanda and her staff. They specialize in dogs under 30 pounds and they do an excellent job every single time. The prices are fair and I could not recommend them enough. Thank you for treating Albus so well!

My dog does not like to go anywhere except a park. Even she doesn’t run away when we approach. Everyone here is so kind and professional. Best groomer in Brooklyn!

**UPDATE** 6 years later this is still our favorite spot. Tried different groomers but no one compared. Other places where too crowded or my dog was clearly frightened. I never worry about my baby here!Amanda and her crew is the best groomer in the area! She listened, did a great job and my dog Rambo genuinely loved her! Good prices with clear cost breakdown in office.

My 1 year old sheepdog had her first groom here and she looks amazing! They did an excellent job for a reasonable price. My pup was very happy when I picked her up and they obviously took good care of her. I will definitely use them again and have recommended them to other dog owners I know.

Today was the second time we had our Pomeranian puppy bathed by them, we are very satisfied both times. When I called for the appointment, they initially told me they were booked through August (omg so popular), but asked if I would be interested if someone cancelled. At that point they had only seen us once, but when I said I have a Pomeranian that only needs a bath and that they saw us 2-3 weeks ago, she immediately went “oh the little white one?” This alone shows how much they care about the dogs they groom and take them to heart. I said I’d be interested, fingers crossed, and someone did cancel! She greeted our dog by name the moment we walked in and was very friendly. Our dog came back with a dashing red bandana, sparkling (literally, his white hair sparkled in the sun) clean and seemed very happy even though being groomed can be stressful. We are not making the mistake of not scheduling ahead again, scheduled monthly bathing until the end of her calendar book.

We had high expectations having seen all the other positive reviews - but Amanda and her team totally blew us away. Provided excellent service despite knowing our dog was gonna be reactive / fidgety. It feels like we walked away with a brand new dog after having traded away a disheveled one!They also gave us great advice re: grooming routines we can try at home.

Finally, weve found our groomer in Brooklyn! Ive tried four or five in the south Brooklyn area (Crown Heights, Bed Stuy, Clinton Hill) and never quite found the trifecta: a quiet, orderly, clean space not filled with tons of yapping dogs and cardboard boxes, grooming staff who take their time to listen to you and really warm up to your dog so theyre comfortable being left, and an end result that looks Westminster-worthy. Yuzu, my 6lb 1 y/o Shih Tzu is a shy gal, loves people but doesnt care for other dogs, and every time Ive picked her up from a groomer shes gripped me shaking - but this time she actually cruised around not all that interested in leaving. That alone was all I needed to show me this place is different.But, if that isnt enough to tell you how genuinely amazing these guys are... I left my purse there Sunday night and they offered to swing by my house on the way home to drop it off! When I thanked them but said Id happily grab it once they opened on Wednesday - they insisted! Genuinely amazing experience, especially from Andrea. Well be back. :)

New to the neighborhood and was worried about where to take Winston. Could not be happier with Carroll Gardens Pet Groomers. They were very thorough with getting information ahead of time. Pricing was fair and the staff could not have been more amazing. This was the first time Winston did not try to escape a groomers while we were trying to pay. We highly recommend this business.

Been going here for years and he looks amazing every time. You have to book in advance as they fill up very quick with appointments. Sometimes I wouldn’t book ahead and tried other grooming salons and everytime it was a horrible job. But this salon is always consistent with results so it’s a great peace of mind booking here.

Jack is an incredibly rude person and should not be working the desk or anywhere near animals. Just walked out of there as he was extremely rude when I simply asked him to close the door when I was trying to explain the haircut as it was extremely loud with a dog at the counter whaling. Last time they left my dog with a Mohawk and I didn’t want that again. Will not be going back.

Shaggie Pets has been my go to groomer for over 10 years. Cant recommend them highly enough. Their care for nervous dogs is amazing & gives them the best possible grooming experience. My dogs always look great & happy when they leave.

Love Amanda and her team! Been going to her for 3+ years and they always take great care of our 2 dogs (medium and large hound/lab mixes). Our boys are nervous nellies and they always know how to calm them down and get them in-and-out quickly to minimize their stress. Highly recommend!

BEST groomer! Amanda and team do an amazing job on my fur baby, a Portuguese Water Dog (puppy). They bring out her portie cuteness instead of making her look like some sort of labradoodle (like some well regarded groomers I went to in the neighborhood-boo!). Amanda also took special care to allow her puppy hair to grow out and adult coat to grow in properly. Puppy always comes out looking fantastic - a real head turner!And Amanda really cares. One day I stopped in randomly to ask about some matted hair and she gave me a whole hands on lesson, showing me how best to get the mats out. So wonderful! Thanks Amanda!!! :)

They did a wonderful job with our two pomeranians. One of them is generally terrified of everyone and consequently has never been groomed before. Her coat was full of mats so we realized we had to take her, but I was concerned wed get a call saying she was too scared and wouldnt let the groomers near.Instead they both came back looking beautiful. Im very impressed with the job they did!

My first time using Carroll Gardens Pet Grooming was yesterday, 2/22/18.My shihtzu is 14yo and a bit cranky, as he doesnt enjoy being groomed.Well Amanda did an absolutely amazing job on his haircut & she didnt give me one complaint about him. Im sure he gave her a bit of a hard time but she was so pleasant & didnt say a peep. The place is immaculate & I cant express enough how happpy I am with Harleys haircut. I highly recommended using their services. Located in a great neighborhood, close to my home. I am a customer for life now. Thank you Amanda. Prices are extremely reasonable.

The owner is rude and does not care for animals . Very Unprofessional. My parents have brought our family Dog several times. Today after picking up our dog and paying for services, they walked out , thinking every was fine . The owner then calls my parents , screaming on the phone saying she will not be grooming our family dog. We are talking about a 3 pound dog. My parents are 70 years old!! The owner never said anytime when they picked up our family dog. She is not mentally stable.

Got my dog’s hair cut and they did a great job. Very friendly too.

They are the best. A woman in fort greene park recommended them to me for my Pomeranian puppy. They did such a great job trimming and grooming him that I’ve not stopped talking about them at the dog park.

I dropped off my Australian labradoodle who was long overdue for a haircut. Groomer: Amanda answered all of my questions, and she was very patient . After spending 3 hours getting my dog to look like a dog again, I was shocked to see how great he looked. Amanda did a wonderful job.I pick this establishment over PetSmart grooming anytime. PetSmart is a puppy mill grooming facility, rushing to get as many dogs groomed as possible. Your dog will spend hours in a Kennel cage at PetSmart. At Carroll Gardens pet grooming, haircuts are by appointment. They spend their time focused on getting your dog looking beautiful again.Their prices are comparable or even lower than PetSmart. You wont be disappointed.

Amanda is great! My Shih Tzu always comes out looking adorable. Hes nine years old, but everyone thinks hes still a puppy. Amanda also brushes his teeth, which is included with the grooming.

Shaggie is an fantastic place for pets grooming. Amanda is amazing, she does an awesome jobs on my shih-tzu everytime. Couldnt be happier knowing that my baby is in good hands. =)

After one too many horrible experiences at Pet Smart, we were determined to find a better grooming experience for our pup(s) and I am so thrilled to have found Carroll Gardens Grooming! The minute we walked in, our pup was greeted by name and my finacé and I were made right at home. Wendys warm and welcoming energy was contagious and the groomers did an amazing job. They listened to all my requests and groomed our Pomeranian exactly as we wanted (last time we took him to pet smart they had shaved him down to his skin and had cut off all his whiskers - it was horrible!) By the time we came to pick Loki up, he had already made such good friends with Wendy - pretty sure he was sad to leave! Anyhow, we are so thrilled to have found this gem in the neighborhood and look forward to bringing Loki (and Thor) back for future groomings. :)

Such a wonderful experience with Amanda. She took care of my goldendoodle with care and I’m so delighted by the cut! Will look forward to returning.

Our Maltie Poo is older, deaf, and blind. Amanda and her staff do such a great job grooming her, Although that is important; what makes me a loyal customer is that Nuggie is treated with the greatest patience and kindness.

I have been going to Amanda since she was in Bayridge. Excellent groomer and I wouldn’t take my two dogs anywhere else!!!

In and out in under 10 min. My dog is usualky scared of a nail clipping but she did very well.

My dog had a cracked nail that was bothering her and they were so great with her. They cleaned it and were able to manage the crack so it wasn’t so bothersome to her. They saw her right away too on short notice. Would recommend this pet salon to anyone.
