I came here for the first time as I was very worried about my dog Zoey , they attended us quickly and I felt so comfortable with the vet and the techs. They handled my wiggly/mouthy pup amazingly and offered lots of treats 😆. They also offered me a lot of insight into the weight and care of my dog. I will make this Zoey’s new vet! They are so kind and gentle. Thank you so much :)

Hazel has been with vca since a 8 week old. The staff and doctors are amazing and always knowledgeable with questions and concern. Highly recommend for all dogs.

If I could rate this establishment zero stars I would. I wanted to add onto the story below.Winka is also my cat and as mentioned by Amanda, during a routine procedure (shaving a mat on her back), a catheter used to administer anesthetic was left in Winka’s arm after the procedure, still attached to her vein.When we brought her home, Winka pulled out the tube and immediately began bleeding out.In a panic we called the animal hospital and they said it had been left in as an “oversight.” They told us both the same thing and used the same word - “oversight.”If such an “oversight” happened while treating a human patient, this would’ve been malpractice case.Our house looked like a murder scene - there was blood everywhere.If we had not been able to get her back in time she would’ve died.Since this happened, the arm that was harmed now jerks spasmodically. It never did before that day.So a simple procedure resulted in an emotionally traumatized and neurologically damaged pet, and they had the gall to charge us $188 for it.If you value your pet’s life, do not bring them to Staten Island Animal Hospital under any circumstances.

ZERO STARS! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I repeat STAY AWAY…it took me a long time to sit down and write this due to my anger. I had the misfortune of dealing with these people when I brought in my cat, Winka, for her shots & for a chipping and grooming back in April of 2023. No issues when she received her shots BUT for her grooming and chipping and to quote the brain dead vet “an oversight” almost caused my cats death. She was retuned to me with a plastic tube STILL IN HER ARM and when we got home she immediately pulled it out causing blood to spew everywhere. This then resulted in an almost 2 hour struggle to get my sedated cat back to these people as she was terrified and bleeding out all over my apartment, it looked like a crime scene. We finally brought her back after numerous calls and was told yet again they didn’t know why it happened and why that piece was left in her arm that it was an “oversight”….They are lucky I haven’t sued them and then they had the audacity to still expect payment even though the service I requested wasn’t done properly. If you care about your pet, don’t ever leave them in the care of these negligent, greedy, awful people.

If I could give 100000 stars I would! Because the team here in Staten Island Animal Hospital in Willowbrook Road is beyond amazing!!! Alyssa, Stephanie, Francesca, Dr Eisenmann and everyone else has taken such great care of our baby Chester! We cannot love this team any more than we already have and do! If you need the best and greatest of care for your fur babies, highly recommend you coming here!

I seriously wish I had read the reviews before calling this place! Cant give less than 1 star or Id have given none at all. Do not waste your time with this place! Called around 4pm and got an appointment on the same day April 1st for 6pm for my 9 year old female cat. They said they were slightly backed up when we arrived. She was extremely weak an not moving much, didnt eat or drink since the day before and suddenly her urine was dark red orange. She sat in her carrier for an hour and a half in their waiting room gradually getting worse while a person who came afterward was taken in. She had to be put to sleep because of how much worse she had gotten. Before walking in she wasnt as bad as when she left.

In memory of shih tzu dog Lola🐶🐕💔We recently lost our dog. I went to Staten Island Animal clinic.Where we was provided such support, help, care and understanding in this not easy for me and my kids time to lose loving dog Lola.

We’ve been going to VCA for about 10 years, I have an 11 yr old Shih tzu, she gives them a hard time, but they have a lot of patience with her and give her the best care. You can tell, the entire staff really loves every animal that comes in and gives them the best care. All of the staff is very friendly and always follows up after our appointments . Thank you VCA for always taking such great care of our girl!!

Weve been taking our dogs here for many years, Dr. Ruderman (now retired) was our amazing vet. One Saturday afternoon in November of 2014, when our first dog Louie became suddenly ill, we rushed him there as an emergency. It became clear that the best course of treatment for him was to cross the Rainbow Bridge, and it was past closing by this time. The staff stayed there late with us, allowing additional family from different ends of the island and New Jersey too, to get there so they could say goodbye. They never rushed us or made us feel as if we were an inconvenience to them. They made sure to tell us multiple times to take all the time we needed and even asked us if we needed more time before we eventually left. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Ruderman and the staff for taking such a traumatic event and helping to make it just a little bit easier. This was the first pet that I have ever had to make this decision for, and we were absolutely heartbroken.Dr. Ruderman always explained every detail of any treatment he was recommending, whether it was in regard to medication he was prescribing, why he chose this med instead of another, and any course of treatment. He always made sure to explain every detail of any diagnosis and took more than enough time to answer all of our questions.As much as we miss him, we are very happy with the new doctor our dogs see now. I would definitely recommend this office if you are looking for a vet.

I’ve spent 2 years bringing my dog to this animal hospital. The vet didn’t know why my dog kept having itchiness around her eyes so they provided different medications. I didn’t have any problems with the prices but it just seemed like a waste of money because they weren’t 100% sure if the medicine would work. There was this one medicine that SEEMED to work so I explained to them about it but they completely ignored me. Then, they provided my dog with this medicine which was a pill that had two drugs in one. That day when I gave her the medicine, I noticed how she was getting sick. She wasn’t able to move or do her business properly. She wasn’t able to eat or drink. She was so weak. Then, a few days later she died. I’ve explained to the vet that it was the medicine that caused it because what else would she die from? The vet blamed it on a “hidden tumor” or her heart disease which it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Theyre all really caring and knowledgeable from reception to doctors, youre in good hands. I still travel nearly an hour to go to them with my pup who has been off of Staten Island for nearly a decade. Dr Briskman in particular goes above and beyond. He replaced another great Vet who retired a few years ago and is just as caring to my dog. 5 out of 5!

I just wanted to make a post about Staten Island Animal Hospital ! Valerie KaufmannLast night we took our Roxie girl to the vet because she had been so sick all day and vomiting blood. She had all check ups done and some injections to make her belly feel better, as well as pumped with some fluids ! Thank god she was okay. Now today, she’s all back to herselfThank you Dr. Rosen and everyone here for fitting her in last minute and getting Roxie back to herself !!

This place is amazing! I brought my cat in for an emergency and they saw her right away. The staff members were are all so kind. It was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back for all future appointments

We had a great experience with Staten Island Animal Hospital. They were quick to give us an appointment once we described our dogs condition. The individuals at the front desk were courteous and friendly. The doctor was attentive as we described the symptoms. He was also kind and gentle with our dog. The facilities are clean and smell clean too.

Wonderful doctors and caring staff that take their time to care for your pet and ensure you have clear understanding of pertinent care and treatment needed. O recently adopted a rescue with several health issues, they took the extra time needed to make sure they thoroughly exam her and also not to overwhelmed her. Very grateful to them for taking the extra time and care!!!!!

Staff is very friendly. And I feel confident in their services.

They do not care about pets and only care about money. They throw numerous unnecessary medications at your dog without a proper diagnosis. Took my pet elsewhere and got a proper diagnosis at 1/4 the price with better care and compassion. Avoid this place at all costs. They are inexperienced and uncaring.

Street parking only. Easy to find. Friendly staff. They have great business hours. Very informative. Takes Care Credit. Has treatment plans (break down of each items cost). You dont wait too long to be seen. They work with you and your pets needs. But they arent cheap $$$. They are very helpful and they know what they are doing, not afraid to handle your pet. They have boarding if your going on vacation or just need your pet watched for one day. My cat has been going for years and we have nothing bad to say about them.

I recommend Dr. Eugene Briskman and Staten Island Animal Hospital for animal care. I went in for an emergency situation for my pup Kobe. Kathy was able to fit us in within a few hours for an emergency visit which was great. Briskman gave us the reassurance we needed and also flagged neglected skin allergies. He has great bedside manners and doesnt force any unnecessary procedures down your throat.He put Kobe on special shampoo and allergy meds and Kobe is almost completely free of dry skin. Cant thank Staten Island Animal Hospital enough.

After I was turned away by Staten Island Veterinary Group for JUST a chip scan for a stray cat, the amazing people at SI Animal Hospital gave him a chip scan AND a full checkup, shots, and tests. Absolute heroes these people are. Couldnt recommend highly enough.

My pup Marley surprisingly doesn’t mind going to the vet but I think it’s because they treat her so well here. Whenever we have an appointment we’re usually in and out within 30 minutes. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they love their jobs.

Gave my cat 48h.. recomanded to put it down... its been several months and cat is doing great !!Beware of the people workin at this hospitalHow does this place stay open ?? Its rather funny, seems like some kind of a scam...

After 17 wonderful years, we had to put our Puggle Minniedown. The staff at Staten Island Animal Hospital went out of their way to help make this process as comfortable as possible. Thank you for your extreme care and understanding.

Today we visited VCA & we met a worker name Marielle. She was outstanding. She welcomed my dog great. My dog isn’t to people friendly but she did an excellent job getting him comfy. She was so polite to us. Even when the doctor was being very unprofessional she remained peosfessional and polite with caring for our dog unlike the doctor. If you go ask to be assisted by Marielle she’s wonderful. I fully recommend anyone who has a non friendly dog to deal with her. She’s awesome.

2024.06 first vet we have for our cat. Vet keep asking to return but not giving much explaination. Very sad

My dog Winston was treated very roughly by the attendants. The Veternarian didn’t even try to establish a repair with my dog. My poor dog was put into a headlock for an examination of his back leg. My dog never growled in his life but did during this farce of an examination. I immediately voiced my displeasure and demanded they stop hurting my dog. I will never go back. This place is not compassionate at all.

Update. They officially suck since Dr Ruderman retired. Compassion is no where near it used to be Expensive and they dont care. Cathy at the front extremely rude. They changed there hours no more Saturdays with out notifying us. And then when I was able to actually make the Appointment durring the week they canceled that one. Idont know what happened to this place.I have been using Dr Rudermen for over 20 years even when I moved over the bridge I still continue to come here.Update I recently had to one of my dogs in for a belly ache not only was Dr Ruderman super helpful but so was there whole office staff especially Francesca and Christa they went above and beyond for any questions and for putting up with my phone calls every 30 min this is the only place I will ever bring my fur babies. Thank you VCA Staten Island Hospital.Update: one of my fur babies and was walking funny and of course I brought them in here I texted Dr Ruderman to tell him I was on my way and answers very prompt. When calling they said to bring him in and once again Francesca was truly amazing and calmed me and my finace down. Thank you VCAUpdate Dr Ruderman is amazing like always and so is there front staff Cathay and Francesca are really amazing and patient with us I just with there techs were a bit nicer still a 5 star place.Update. Unfortunately they changed there hours and dont do weekend anymore huge bumme. Now I cant use them anymore. Staff are all great. I do wish they let us know sooner to make the proper changes. Still 5 starsUpdate they officially suck. Canceled my appointment because of staffing issue and would not work with me.

The staff and doctors at Staten Island Animal Hospital are courteous, professional, knowledgeable and treat me and my pets like royalty.Im so glad I stayed with the original Rosebank Animal Hospital staff when they merged to become Staten Island Animal Hospital.I especially like Dr. Ruderman and his assistants, and his interactions with my two dogs.When I had to say goodbye to my 12 year old companion they helped me and gave me the time I needed to process my loss and say goodbye.Now in the midst of the pandemic they have been mindful of safety protocol but still making their services available so my little boys can get all their medical treatments and vaccines and stay current.The location is easily reached from the Victory Blvd exit off the expressway and parking is not an issue.I highly recommend this business.

Facility is clean and staff are thorough and attentive with your pets. We were really happy to switch to this animal hospital for our cat recently.

Staff is wonderful and quality of care is great!

This place should be shut down. And sued. They have no idea what theyre doing and it is at the cost to your pet. They shaved my dog for a spaying procedure and it never grew back. Why, to give her a pain patch when pain medication can be safely administered orally. The staff there is uneducated, and cannot perform simple tests without sitting on your dogs head and neck till they are whimpering, crying and suffocating. My dog snapped because she felt trapped and I still to this day wish she reached skin. Please, I cannot undo my mistakes for trusting these hacks with my dog, but I can prevent you from experiencing what I am going through. This was six months ago and I still am trying to resolve the mistakes they made.I apologize to the few people who work there and did not motivate me to write this review. I suggest you too seek other employment.

I adopted a dog and was recommended to come after the adoption. They gave me a certificate to Use when I visit VCA a week letter I get a call from a staff to schedule an appointment and she asked to please bring a sample of my dog feces no one ever mentioned that I was going to be charged for that in fact my dog was already tested for that if I would’ve known I would’ve never came. They never bothered to look at the certificate or my dogs records when I gave them they said it’s not important. I felt pressured by the staff and extremely uncomfortable and when I try to reason with them they only said please pay the fee over and over I wasn’t even sure I had that amount on me and I was just beyond disappointed and embarrassed.

The office staff is friendly and helpful and the assistants are knowledgeable and great with the animals. Dr Ruderman is the best vet I have ever used. He is always thorough in his exams. Hes thoughtful and experienced and I wouldnt trust my animals with anyone else. Hes the only doctor Ive ever found who calls back immediately with test results and walks you through them and what they mean. I cant even find a doctor for myself that does that. Highly recommend anyone who needs a vet check out Dr Ruderman.

First off.. They wouldnt allow anyone in the building because of a Covid policy. So they take your dog from you in the street. My dog did not want to go with them. I guess thats par for the course in this very fearful world we live in. But when my 75yr old mom asked to use the the bathroom Dr. Ruderman told her to use the one in the gas station across the street. How about a little humanity? They Charged way too much as well. I will find another place to bring my familys pets in the future.

A stray cat wandered onto my property in extremely bad condition. It looked like it was hacked with an axe. His ear was missing, his head was split from front to back, his eyes were pushed in & there were maggots throughout his head & face. So sad! Animal care & control did absolutely nothing & it took 911 3 hours to get back to me. The only help I got was from this animal hospital. We picked him up with gloves & towels & brought him here. The vet & staff met us at the door & helped is the whole time. Very caring people for animals & humans, alike. I highly recommend this place for your pets.

You can always tell when someone loves animals and when we took our kitten there, and the way we and our pets were treated was great. Very professional and loving staff.

My family has used Doctor Ruderman as our vet for 30 years. Hes kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and a great vet overall.Not only does he practice traditional veterinary medicine but he also offers acupuncture and homeopathic/traditional chinese herbs.Ive had many pets in the past and hes been an amazing vetr to all of them including exotics. Hes even put a cast on a gerbil and a chinchilla I had many years ago when they broke their toes.If youre looking for a vet who will treat your pets as if theyre his own family members, look no further. Many people complain about their vet being cold and distanced in the face of their family members death, Dr R has always grieved with me. As have all other members of his team.Doctor Viado has performed surgery on one of my dogs multiple times and hes seen both my dogs on days Doctor Ruderman isnt in. I trust him 100% to take care of my dogs. Hes caring, knowledgeable and professional.

This place gives adequate care at an astronomical price. There bedside manner is alright, but it certainly isnt worth their prices. All in all, you get much better care, and service at a price that is equal to the care, or you can go to this hospital, get less care for more money. Your call.

Dr. Viato is the best. Been going there for 6 years. First brought my dog to Banfield at petsmart. The vet diagnosed my puppy with all kinds of bs in an attempt to overcharge me. Looking for a second opinion I went to the Staten Island animal hospital and Dr. Viato gave my dog a full and honest exam. Wouldn’t trust my dog with any other vet.

This place is horrible .. nasty people work there they refused to help me with my dog said they werent taking no appointments and saw that my dog was hurt and could care less .. I went there b4 and the people were amazing .. new people must be running it..I would never recommend them to walk youre dog never mind care for them... nastiest people ever work there.. im sorry you and youre pet beware..

The staff at Staten Island Animal Hospital took care of our bearded dragon. After the poor animal died, they were compassionate and sensitive to our loss. I appreciate the way they handled our pet.

They told me what vaccines my dog need for boarding then when I brought him there, after all those vacines were administered by my regular vet and only four hours before my flight, they gave me a new list of vaccines, tests, and physical exam all mandatory for boarding. It was an additional $250 in charges. Deceptive sales practice.

2 days in a row i called for my sick puppy to be seen not once but twice they rushed meOff the phone and recommended me to see another vet - then when tried asking questions to see what i should do about my dogs situation i was rushed off the phone and told no doctor can see him and they gave me no answers , it’s very clear to me they don’t care too much for my animals health so therefore they will never get my business i hope they see this and work on whatever It is They have too do to make people more comfortable too even call them not even walk in ....what a shame

I felt very uncomfortable in this place. The staff wereNot professional and not nice at all. I also feel that there main concern is money nothing else. I would never recommend this place. Also I did not find the veterinarians to be good. They were money hungry

We had to put our Beloved miniature Yorkie too sleep, he was very sick, we called during the Pandemic and the staff was very accommodating by letting us in within a couple of hours The Hospital was clean the staff and Doctor was Sympathetic and very Proffessional , they took whatever negativity they cold away from a very tough day

Do NOT see Dr Viado at SI Animal Hospital. My dad took our Morkie in. She had a small hard bump on her head that has been there for a year or so. The Doc told my dad he had to go out an (expensive) mri in Red Bank at a clinic Viado ALSO works at because brain matter was leaking into her skull. He refused to do a cheaper Xray.She was taken somewhere else for a second opinion. It was just an abscess that needed to be drained. Greedy heartless jerk! How dare he play on our emotions to make a buck! I would give 0 starts id I could!!

Great staff at VCA. Theyve been treating my pooch since she first came home with us. Shes treated like royalty there although she still hides under the chair and pees on the floor when shes nervous. Dr. Briskman is fantastic with my pooch. Hes patient, answers all questions and calls to follow up on her progress after being treated. I highly recommend‼️

I called for an emergency appointment. They told me to come in a certain time, I stated we couldnt be there exactly at 2. It was 2 or nothing.. I went somewhere else, and was extremely happy.

Really nice folks who love animals, the manager went out of her way to find a new formula for my kitty with digestive issues.

Really grest animal hospital they waived the visit fee bec. I rescued the kitten. Staff was realy nice Sammy even gave us an entire kittten package with food and a toy.

They were awesome. Their prices are reasonable to some of them I have been too.

I have been paying a care club membership for years and every time I call for an appointment I have to wait 15 minutes on the phone if I’m lucky, sometimes the receptionist just hung up on me. I guess it’s just not worth my money and my time.

Dr. Viado killed my love of my life and said that he was going to be fine, 6 months later my boy had to be rushed to Red Bank Animal Hospital and be put down. The worst veterinarian ever 😫

What a wonderful Vet they took absolutely the best care of my french bulldog gee gee. Stephanie the Vet take is absolutly amazing.Have been using this Vet for 18 years since my other dog oreo they are informative and very gentle and caring with your pet I Highly recommend them

Where do I begin? Ive been meaning to write this review for a long time, mainly to deter anyone from taking their dog here. I was taking my dogs here for a very long time and spent thousands here. My first bad experience is when I boarded my dogs once because I went on vacation. My dog was handed to me back with feces on her.. yet I didnt flip out I just vowed to never board my dog there again, not to mention it wasnt cheap. My last straw was recently, obviously we are in a pandemic, which I understand but they refused to make time to see my dog when she was extremely ill with diarrhea and vommitting. They turned me away outside very rudely when it was an emergency. They said they are only taking appointments even after I explained that my little 6 lb dog has been on the floor all evening! They do not care about pets and only care about money. Everytime I went there I spent upwards of $300. Im glad to say I found a new vet - pleasant plains animal hospital on forest Ave.. not only did they see my dog when she wasnt a patient during the pandemic and during her emergency illness but the service is impeccable! The prices are very reasonable too compared to this place! I hope my recommendation helps other pet owners and that is the only reason I wrote this review.

This is a good veterinarian and I’ve trusted them in the past to Care for my dogs but this time i brought a wild bird because they said the accept them yet they felt it was better to put the bird down because it had a broken wing and it was “wild” It ID known they would kill the poor thing i would have taken it directly to the wild bird fund in manhattan but they didn’t want me to take the bird back..... i thought they were better than that tho... i was very disappointed...
