Best place for you pets ❤️Dr.Powel is the best vet doctor what we have. He’s patient with both the pets and the owners. Always makes me feel safe . He handle all my animals .with professionalism and gave us expert advice ,very knowledgeable and take the time to really explain the diagnosis and treatment plan. then followed up with the next day with a phone call to make sure the family was ok.This place is not a money grab like most place in SI. Highly recommend and very grateful ♥️

Best of the best. Dr. Maccia, staff and techs are truly amazing. Their texting service is top notch. They respond within minutes and are extremely helpful. Dr. Maccia is so compassionate and knowledgeable. The techs truly care for the animals coming in. My dog walks in right away wagging her tail when the techs come for her. Last week I brought home a toy poodle pup, 10 weeks old. Our first stop was at RVVP to make his first appt. I had used RVVP in the past so was confident with the care my pup will receive. The care the Doctors & staff provide is excellent. I highly recommend RVVP for all your pet needs.

That smile on my pride and joy Lola pups furry face was put up there by Dr. Esposito and the entire loving, caring STAFF (too many to name!) Lola will be 16 in August & thanks to the attention and expert care shes gotten at Richmond Valley her senior years are more comfy & pleasureable for her.Were so beyond grateful to have this Practice in our lives!

All the doctors are fantastic!!! We typically see Dr.Powell & Dr.Maccia and they always have the right answers. Everyone there truly loves animals; you can tell once you walk in the door. I’ve been going to Richmond valley now for 8 years and I’ve NEVER had a bad experience. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Shull is always amazing! The staff is wonderful. I tell everyone about him and the Richmond Valley Veterinary clinic. You cannot manufacture trust and I know Dr. Shull always has Mollie’s best interest at heart. Per usual, he was fantastic in rapidly diagnosing her, treating her and providing comfort at the same time. Truly grateful! He is the consummate vet! When I moved away from the area, I never even considered changing vets. I travel a bit of a distance to receive this high quality care.

Everyone there is so caring and supportive. I am a first time dog owner. Any time that i have a question, I can text the office with 100 percent confidence that someone will get back to me within a few minutes. I use Dr. Osterman. My puppy loves her, which makes me feel even more comfortable. Instead of being nervous of the vets office, he runs in there with excitement. I cant recommend this practice enough! Yesterday I took my 14 years dog - Speedyfor the first time to the Richmond Valley Veterinary .He was seeing by Dr.Powell what a great ,lovely person .He did explain me everything what goes on with Speedy eye and I really appreciate it that.The staff are very friendly nice ,professional and helpful.All visit was easy,smooth ,professional and fast very well organized.I am very grateful to my friend for recommending me this veterinary and I will also recommend them to everyone .

I normally dont leave reviews. Good or bad... but this place and the staff is amazing. They treated my lady girl like their own. She is 12 year old American bulldog. With a bad tumor rupture. I was worried with her age putting her under anesthesia. Bit dr Purcell is amazing and compassionate and made me feel comfortable. I felt she was gonna be ok and wake up...and she did. I truly love Richmond Valley. All the vets, Dr. Maccia, and Dr. Schull, and the entire staff are wonderful, compassionate and I trust them wholeheartedly with my babies. I would never go anywhere else. I have been with them for the past 25 years traveling from Northern NJ.

I have been with Richmond Valley Veterinary for 13 years at present. I trust my Lucky with them especially Dr. Powell. He has been taking care of my Lucky for 8yrs and with my Annie for 5 years as a rescue. The compassion and help I have experienced with them is remarkable. I have been to many vets on the island over the years and would highly recommend them to any one that asks.

SAY NO TO LIBRELA !!! My 6 year old dog who walked 4 miles daily & swam 1.5 hours a day in the summer was given the Librela shot and now has trouble walking on her back legs. She was diagnosed with mild Wobblers Syndrome (a neurological condition) a month before this but was asymptomatic aside from a slight front leg limp that went away by putting her back on hip & joint supplements. They offered Librela (shame on me for not doing my own research) saying it was the most wonderful thing in the world & had absolutely no side effects. A little research shows this drug is absolutely horrible and has now even prompted the FDA to get involved with issuing a warning on side effects. I have since seen 3 specialists & several Holistic Vets & all stated A DOG WITH A NEUROLOGICAL CONDITION SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAVE BEEN GIVEN LIBRELA ! I am thousands of dollars into treatments, diagnostic testing & Holistic care at this point just trying to get my dog back to her normal self. I used to love Richmond Valley but it seems they are more into making money & pushing poison after poison.

Knowledgeable doctors and very responsive to questions. Known to be great with bulldogs, but disappointing results from nares surgery as the nares significantly closed up again after the surgery. Used different surgical equipment during surgery then described during the consultation

The best Veterinarian practice ever - between our original vet, Dr. Paul Kinnear (now retired) to our current vet, Dr. Christopher Powell, they have treated all five of our Dobermans over the last 38 years! Wouldn’t think of letting anyone else treat our dogs.

Unbelievable care! They are amazing. We usually see Dr. Shull or Powell but have seen other vets. They have all been amazing and caring. I recommend Richmond Valley Vet to everyone. 15 years they have been taking care of my two Papillons.

Dr. Maccia is top notch when it comes to the Veterinary Practice , hes very honest straightforward and experienced and great at explaining whats going on so you dont have to have a degree to understand whats going on with your beloved pet .he took great care of my doberman and really put my mind at ease fortunately it wasnt a worst case senario but i felt either way he was in very good hands . If youre looking for a great Vet on Staten Island (or honestly the tri state area) This is the place to go I honestly dont think Ive ever trusted a vet more than Dr Maccia and Richmond Valley Veterinary

I have been a loyal client for almost 25 years and today only reaffirms my love and respect for the staff here. Dr Osterman today treated my Deebo for his severe chest cold and clipped his nails with care and ease. Recently i moved far from this office so i tried VCA on Willowbrook rd ( only to cut down on travel time ) BIG MISTAKE! The ripped me off, tried to run me through the mill with weak meds and a 800$ chest xray. Lol. Then i come back to Rich Valley and i pay 300$, 90$ for the visit and 200$ on strong meds. Perfect! No scams, no useless bloodwork, no overpriced chest xrays. I dont care if i move to Mars, im not bringing my dog anywhere else. Thank you Richmond Valley! ❤️❤️❤️

I trust Dr. Schull 100 percent. Using Richmond Valley for over 10 plus years. The staff is compassionate, patient and kind. When I say patient, I mean mostly with me - lol. I have had limited transactions with the other doctors but when I did, it was always a positive experience.

First lets start with the reception at Richmond Valley. The office staff is pleasant, friendly and super accommodating. They know my Spike well and treat him like he is the only dog in the place. You can always expect a warm welcome at RV.Now let me tell you about Dr. Powell. My dog wouldnt be alive today if it werent for Dr. Powell. He diagnosed my Spike almost immediately and took such great care of him. Spike had to stay overnight at RV but I was not worried about him at all because I knew he was in great hands. When we went to pick Spike up Dr. Powell walked us through all of the steps for giving him his insulin and took the time to talk about his diet and some of the side effects we might see.I absolutely love the office staff at RV...they will basically do anything except clean up after your dog because they cant! I love the doctors for their knowledge and care for not only the animals but for their families.#LOVEMYVET

The only vet i trust with my English bulldogs. Dr. Shull is the best! He answers all of my questions and explains everything. The techs are all so great with my dogs also, even when that bulldog sass comes through. Everyone is professional and kind.

They really need to stop pushing all these harmful vaccines on our animals, its unhealthy to them. My friends dog got very ill and passed away when they gave his dog several vaccines in one visit. The dog was only 3 years old . These vaccines need to stop.

I recently lost my dog to larynx paralysis.Had To put my 14 yr old dog to sleepHe had been given librela for his osteoarthritis n after maybe a few months he went down hill.I recently googled meds he was taking n when I GOOGLED librela it stated can cause or worsen his nerve damage n larynx paralysisI do not recommend this shot to be given to any other dog with nerve damage.

Great practice that specializes on the French Bulldog breed. We traveled from Westchester County ( New York) because of the the great reviews we read on the website. My 8 month old Frenchie “Bullet” needed surgery and Dr. Shull was his doctor. Dr. Shull was very personable , professional and thoroughly explained the surgery from beginning to end. We are happy with the results and highly recommend this doctor and veterinary hospital. Thanks 🐶🐾❤️

What can I say? NOTHING BAD OBVIOUSLY!! I’m super happy at how they treated my bella because trust me shes a feisty one when it comes to veterinarians but this time she was calm plopped into their arms it was surprising to see how good she was under Dr Powells care. Didn’t even feel the vaccine injections! For the first time ever I was very comfortable knowing she was in good hands thank you guys for being great!

My pets have been treated at Richmond Valley Animal Hospital since the late 1980s. I think they are one of the best, if not the very best animal hospital on Staten Island.

Love Richmond Valley Vet-being the mom to bulldogs, they take extra care, it’s great having a practice that specializes in the breed because of the love they have for them. They will be 10 in August.

Brought my 8 month old bulldog twice for cherry eye surgery. Both times it was not fixed correctly by Dr Scholl. Dr Esposito is a burnt out vet. When asked why the surgery was again unsuccessful, was told these things happen! Asked after the first unsuccessful surgery if she should be seen by an opthamolgist and was told you can or you can let me fix it as Imoffering. They could care less about your pet. They get your money and become used car salesmen. Never again!

Dr. Esposito is the best. She is very thorough and takes her time. She is very gentle with our little Bella.

I recently started bringing my 11 year old dog here. We were going to another South Shore vet, but had a bad experience with one of the techs and were treated badly even by management. My husband and I love Richmond Valley! We see Dr. Purcell, who is very kind, calm and understanding. The staff is also top notch and professional. I highly recommend this place!

The visit for our dogs exam and vaccinations were great as he was seen and completely examined. His blood was tested and we were given the results quickly. Dr. Powell and the staff are terrific.

I am new to Richmond Valley since fostering (now adopting) my beautiful Bully Girl Philly (now named Lovey). I am blown away by the level of authenticity and caring that I have experienced by the 2 doctors I have worked so far with, Dr .Shull and Dr. Esposito. They both talk to you with such professionalism an warmth at the same time. You can tell a vet who is in the profession for the right reasons and they both truly epitomize this. At my first visit during the pandemic Dr. Shull came to talk to me outside knowing I had concerns about my girl. Dr. Esposito contacted me after my 2nd visit ( a week before her palate surgery) just to talk about her concerns and as a lover of bulldogs herself, to discuss things I needed to watch for very carefully. My only regret is that I did not know about them when my late Bulldog Shifty was around. You absolutely not need look any further to find the most genuine practice there is.

Absolutely love Dr Esposito and the rest of the team of doctors there as well. The vet techs make all of my fur babies (as well as myself) calm. Incredibly happy and finally found a place who understands an animals worth. They are kind, compassionate and understanding of both you and your pets needs. Love Dr Espositos game plans and she is incredibly brilliant. Thank you to the entire team of Richmond Valley, you’re all wonderful.

Dr. Maccia takes time and listens to our concerns. He is very gentle with Daisy. This is our 3rd dog with him!!!

Greedy and major communication fail between staff members. I Was there for a rabies shot visit with my pup, questions arose after the visit since I was being charged for the services I wasn’t provided… when speaking to office manager on the phone who preceded by saying “I’ve reviewed her (my dogs) chart” she’s trying to proof to me that my pup was there for blood work , meanwhile I was there with my pup and she got a shot in front of my eyes, which makes me question the trustworthiness of what they’re saying. Meanwhile, while we were there, there was no mention at all of blood work or what not. When speaking to them they try to confuse you and proof points that don’t exist this makes me question the validity and professionalism of this facility, since they’re trying to cover up for each other. Lack of transparency between customer and staff is what’s making me leave this place. I gave this office multiple chances but now I can clearly state, I wouldn’t recommend it. Dr Powell, very condescending, makes no eye contact when he speak and I wouldn’t call him the most talented vet. Multiple visits in he still couldn’t find an approach for my 7 lbs dog nor me. Lots of questions are dodged and redirected to other staff members. Had me chase my puppy around the office while he and his aid just stood there making comments on our chasing game. Not a vet I want for my dog. They have multiple vets so I figured one should click with my dog but it seems like it’s the general attitude of the vets towards their customers. Dr osterman makes notes in the chart apparently without running them by you, literally on her phone for her personal Matter while My pup and I are there in the room, no attention to the matter what so ever but then the notes appear so when you speak to the secretary the information comes out of nowhere. Just a major lapse in communication between all. The two visits happened within two months of each other, neither visit was my pups temperature checked, nor did they attempt to trim her nails which apparently is included in the visit, neither visit were the teeth checked until I guided the dr to do it the second visit. Idk if it’s bc my dog is young and they assume she’s healthy so they do no extra checking but I’ve been getting those half visits in while they try to charge a full price and trust me I don’t mind paying if I’m getting what I’m paying for. The one person in the office that I’d like to point out is Adrea the office manager, but unfortunately she has no power and not in the decision making position, so she’s just nice and that’s it. If you envision a caring , transparent, environment for your pup this office is not for you.

Im so grateful to Dr. Purcell and the vet technician (Im sorry I didnt get her name) for their patience, kindness, and compassionate care. My bulldog was suffering from ear infections, but his severe anxiety makes him difficult to treat. Other vets cant handle him. The tech at Richmond was able to calm and comfort him while Dr. Purcell treated his ears with creativity and her soothing hands. I nearly cried watching them work. They are amazing professionals!! Thank you so much to all who supported us and reduced the stress of this vet visit. Richmond Valley Veterinary Practice is the best place for our fur babies!! 💙🐶💙

Ive been to a number of veterinarians over the years some claiming there offices were veterinary hospitals when oftentimes I did not get that impression during the first visit. I was recommended to Richmond Valley Veterinary Practice by a neighbor and I am glad I took their advice. I was very impressed with the facility, the staff, their professionalism and the many services they provide; all of which one would expect from a Veterinary Hospital. I was also fortunate enough to be introduced to the veterinarian my neighbor recommended as well. Dr. Purcell. Her professionalism, compassion, spot on diagnostic skills as well as recommended treatment makes her a true credit to her profession. Oh, and my Shih-tsu Buddyi feels the same way. lol

I was late for my first appointment but they took care of us right away. There was only a short wait for the vet. Even though I advised that they might need a muzzle (Eddie can be difficult) one person held him while the vet did the examination and administered the required vaccines. The doctor gave him a thorough check up and then trimmed his nails. One of the easiest visits I have ever had with my pet.

Dr Maccia and the staff are awesome! They really care about your pet like its their own. Even when you have to make the toughest decision about your dogs life, Dr Maccia takes the time to explain all the options and he always has patience and understanding. Dr Maccia and his staff are the BEST.

Dr. Powell, Lisa and the entire team have been such an important part of our familys lives. For years, they provided the best medical care for our Westie (who lived to be 17 1/2 years old) and now to our Wheaten Terrier, Benji, who is 3 years old. Benji has a very rare genetic liver disease. We and Benji are blessed to have Lisa always there for him. She is as dedicated, thoughtful, sensitive and caring as can be - Benji literally LOVES going to the office to see her and Dr. Powell. We know that each pet is a precious family member, and it is amazing to us that Lisa treats everyones pet exactly like that. A very friendly place with very very knowledgeable vets and staff everything you need is all in one place doctor,pharmacy,grooming and boarding I came for my English Bulldog but will be bringing all my 3 dogs and 2 cats there its worth the drive from Brooklyn to Staten Island as I said the vets are so knowledgable especially with bracycephalic breeds The exam was through and the vet explained everything in terms where you can understand whats going on Highly recomend this veternarian office by far the best place i have ever been to

I brought both of my dogs here for the first time on 5/28/23. My first impression was just how clean the place is. I’ve been to a few vets in Staten Island, and let’s just say cleanliness isn’t a top priority. The receptionist was very nice. The doctor and vet tech were so great! Both of my dogs were so scared, but they both tried to soothe them with love and affection. Dr Iarrobino was very thorough. I’m a nervous pet parent, and she was very patient. Listened and answered all of my questions. This will be where my pets come from now on! Thank you!

I haven’t been able to buy medicine for my dog ​​for 2 months now because the clinic cancels my order every time. I called them a million times and they promised to fix everything, but nothing changes. Today the pharmacy sent a letter saying my dog ​​is not a patient of the clinic. ok, I think its time to change veterinary clinics. treating us like trash

DAX AND DEXTER YORKIE BROTHERS HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY WELL TREATED FOR THERE MEDICAL WELL BEING. DAX (THE ONE WITH THE HANDSOME EAR UP FACE) HAD FHO (FEMORAL HEAD OSTECTOMY) FOR A DEFECT IN HIS LEFT REAR LEG AT RICHMOND VALLEY VETERINARIANS..THE SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS. HE CHASES HIS BROTHER AT FULL SPEED. I LOVE MY DOGS AND FEEL VERY GOOD TO RECOMMEND THESE FINE VETERINARIANS FOR YOUR PET.

The doctors and staff are always professional. The facility is clean and spacious. There is ample parking and the appointment times have very little wait.My cat Luna loves Dr. Powell!

I have now taken my second bulldog Hank, to this vet and I have noting bad to say. I really appreciate that they are familiar with the bully breed. My bully is very reactive and even with his acting out in their office today, the staff reminded cool calm and collective. I very much so value their opinion. I have read many review about the staff being rude, but I have never experienced that. They are busy and have a job to do, they were very respectful and efficient in their job, what more could you ask for.

The veterinarian doctors are all good , my dog Vito, feels secure ,when nervous ,with the veterinarian assistants keeping him calm, plenty of parking, easier to text to get appointments, than using PetDesk

My dog was diagnosed with diabetes today. Needless to say I am a nervous wreck. It is overwhelming to me especially since my husband passed away and all Gino’s care will be my responsibility. Thank God for Krista at Richmond Valley. Dr. Macia took care of Gino but Krista had the infinite patience to deal with me. She kindly answered (more than once) any questions and issues I had. She showed me how to, where to and why all of this happened. God bless you always Krista!

Dr. Osterman cares for our dogs so much! She provided us with different options for my dogs limpness and we learned about the mypetbrace and laser treatment.communication is easy and convenient with the texting. option in making appointments. Fees are very reasonable and they will provide referral for tooth extraction or other procedures they dont provide in this office. I will continue bringing my 3 dogs here in the future.

Dr. Powell at Richmond Valley is an excellent veterinarian. He is very knowledgeable and professional, and is very caring and gentle with my dogs. He does not do any unnecessary procedures or tests, and truly does what is best for the pet. I never feel that Dr. Powell is doing anything except what is needed for my dog. He does not overcharge me, and his diagnosis of my dogs has always been 100 percent correct. He takes the time that both the pet and the pet owner need. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Powell.

The whole appointment was fast and easy. Dr. Powell is very informative and great with my dog, Mia. The front desk is also such a great complement to the overall service of the office. Quick service and overall just pleasant.

I have been going to Dr. Powell about 10 years. He is amazing with all of my pets. My chocolate lab, Ryder loves him and never stresses about going to the vet. Dr. Powell and the entire staff are sweet, kind, compassionate and very professional. They never have you do unnecessary tests. They are always accommodating and their prices are very reasonable. I would never trust my beloved pets with anyone else!!!

The doctors are extraordinarily empathetic & knowledgeable. Dr. Esposito & Dr. Purcell are just wonderful. They work beyond normal hours to ensure the best care for my dog & take the time to share information & make suggestions to improve the health of my dog. STAY AWAY! What happened to the wonderful caring vet practice and staff?? Down the toilet. Perhaps caring more about $ then long time clients or their pets and the rude and incompetent office staff makes this once awesome practice a huge disaster in the making. Im a long time customer/client and have spent much $$ there, and there was total disregard of them placing my pet at risk or me considering leaving the practice. Really?! I asked for a call back from one of the owners/vets or the office manager (from an instance that happened last week) and Im still waiting. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt but sadly they dont care.***Just an update to my earlier review...the staff outright lied about my communication with them! I have been nothing but honest and professional. Perhaps there were communication issues and Im not saying that I wasnt displeased, but I have NEVER raised my voice or been anything but professional. Read the other reviews about office staff...SMH

All the vets are always patient and thorough. The girls and bet techs are always helpful and have lots of patience when I have a lot of questions. Dr. Shull is our favorite vet but they are all really great.

We have been taking our pets (dogs) to Richmond Valley Vet for nearly twenty years. We love Dr. Lisa Esposito, our primary vet. She is a wonderful vet who is patient, kind, and gentle with our fur babies. She provides expert care and takes her time examining and treating her patients. She is a compassionate caregiver and provides valuable feedback to us for any issues or concerns we might have.We have, at various times, had our dogs seen by other vets at Richmond Valley. They are all very professional, kind and caring.The techs are great, as well. The front office staff are very courteous and efficient.

Always fit us in. Staff are nice. Dr. Shull is the best. All the techs are soooo good with Leo and I see how well they treat ALL the other pets as well. I travel across the island and its well worth it!

First let me start off by saying Dr. Atkinson is very knowledgeable, friendly, and overall a great vet. You can tell she really cares about and has a specialty with animals. Now with that being said, the reasoning behind 3 stars is because I’m not sure what went on tonight on 11/18/2022. I made an appointment for today at 6:30 PM, and waited 40 minutes until I finally figured out we were not even close to being seen and decided to reschedule. Now when a customer is already aggravated for waiting 40 minutes, but is still showing nothing but kindness to the employees and just trying to re schedule an appointment, it is strongly encouraged for your receptionists to be GOOD at customer service and not act rudely stating “Well, your next” and when asked for a time frame for about how long, respond with “well, I’m not sure what’s going on in there” I mean, the guy in front of us was next and he was there 40 minutes before us so I’m not sure what her definition of next is. I decided to give this place one more chance, and can only hope the receptionists can fix their attitudes because that would be the only reason I do not come back here.

Staff was super friendly and made my 2 pups’ vet visit a little less stressful. Dr. Powell is the best, my dogs love him. Thank you!

Ive been coming to Richmond Valley for over 15 years now with my family dog growing up and now my own dogs. Most of those years have been with Dr. Esposito who I cant say enough good things about. She goes above and beyond and truly cares for all the animals in her care. Over the years Ive seen just about every veterinarian at Richmond Valley and have never been disappointed by anyone. They are all excellent doctors and everyone from the vet techs to the staff are great people.

We have been coming to Richmond Valley Vet since 1986 and just love this place. The staff is great and they know us when we walk in. We now live in New Jersey and still go there and always will.

Dr Powell is an excellent Doctor he is kind and considerate and extremely knowledgable about our Bulldogs and French Bulldogs. After our visit he called the next day to assure everything was ok. Even during the corona-virus lock down Richmond Valley was open and available for their patients. Their protocols were great and very organized. I never felt uncomfortable about my pets office visit with Dr Powell without me. Dr Powell kept me advised with everything that happened during my pets visit. Also, I was able to email with the staff and get documentation emailed to me that I needed for dog licensing in my city. This is definitely a great Veterinary practice.

I am so beyond happy with bringing my puppy to this practice!!! As a new dog mommy I was so nervous about not being able to go inside for his first vet visit due to covid restrictions. The entire practice made this such a nice experience ! When coming outside to get my puppy the vet and staff both came to the car and answered every question I had. When they finished the physical, they were both outside again to let me know everything that had happened. They explained all the next steps so clear. I am so so so so happy and relieved this is where my little fur baby is going to go to get the best care ! Look no further ! This is where you want to bring your fur babies !!!

I never write Google reviews, but Richmond Valley is an exception. We have been bringing our 2 French Bulldogs here for 12 years. We have (at times) lived over an hour away and still made the trips. This is the best Vet you will find in the NY/NJ area. Everyone here from the doctors to technicians to front office personnel are incredible. They are fairly priced, love what they do, and care about the animals and clients.

My wife and I are new to the Tottenville area and selected this practice based on their glowing reviews and convenience. Let me start by saying Dr. Atkinson is an amazing vet and very knowledgeable and caring, as well as most of the technicians. When trying to schedule another appointment, we were first told Dr. A was out for two weeks, which extended another 4-5 weeks with no explanation.Unfortunately, the administrative staff is absolutely terrible to work with and could care less about you or your pup. No compassion and zero care about you or your animal. Think of Cruella de Vil answering your texts or calls. They only care about money and are clearly overdue for retirement. All communication is handled via text (milking Covid as another reviewer mentioned) and always have an annoyed, abrasive attitude if you ask them for details (or anything). Our insurance agent even commented on how “pleasant” the staff was when we had respectfully inquired about documentation being emailed a few times, to which the staff here responded: “We already sent it, we’re not sending it again.”Maybe this place was great once upon a time, but those days are long gone. I also want to make it very clear that the veterinarians here are excellent, but you have very limited interaction with them. The bulk of the communication is done via the admin, and they are a nightmare to deal with. If you like quality care with awful customer service, this is the place for you.

The staff is always caring and professional. Dr. Powell is honest, thorough and caring. He takes the time to answer all your questions and explains everything. I would highly recommend him. Thank you for taking care of my fur baby.

This vet was great with my dog but absolutely took forever!! The first time I went with my dog; they wouldnt let me in because I had my newborn baby with me. The baby was not more than 2 months old and was also in a stroller but due to covid issues I could not enter with my baby so I had to reschedule. I had recently come because my dog needed a checkup. I had come very early and I understand if they cannot take me early but they were 20 minuets late to coming out and getting my dog and I. They had taken a very long time and I didnt leave the place till about an hour and a half after they took my dog back. Please work on you service.

I have 2 cats and I have seen Dr. Macy and Dr Powell. Both of them are awesome. Front desk and all support staff are great as well. I recommend this vet to anyone who loves their pet.

My experiences at Richmond Valley Veterinary Practice are nothing but excellent! My family and I have been using them for over 15 years. Dr. Schull, his assistants and staff are phenomenal. They take pride in what they do. They listen and take their time. My family and I have been using Dr. Schull for over 15 years. He is amazing, caring, informative and treats your dogs like they were his own. The front desk is always helpful and the assistants are great. I HIGHLY recommend this practice. Like I said, I’ve only seen Dr. Schull, but I’m told all the doctors are great.

Best veterinary Practice on the island ! Service is outstanding, staff is very friendly, and there is never a long wait. Even the veterinary assistants are phenomenal. The girl Sarah is truly QUALITY! Cant say enough about her. Great hire ! My Pup & I were very happy with the care she provided. I highly recommend this place !

We took my cat in as she wasn’t doing very well. Dr. Shull took great care of her on her last day on earth. He keep us in the loop all day & kept her purring despite her poor health. He was honest and kind with us. We appreciated him & all of the staff for all of their help on this day. Then, the next day we took our dog in for his limp, which Dr. Shull and the staff took great care of him. Thank you Richmond Valley Vet!

I have been going to Richmond Valley Vets for many years. The vets and techs are the best. I always see Dr Shull. He is great with my German Shepherd. You can tell how much he cares about his patients. He never rushes and always takes time to answer sent questions or concerns I have.

I had to bring my dog in for a last minute, Saturday morning appointment. I had 3 of my children in tow, along with my 60 pound dog. From the minute we walked in until we were back in our car, every member of the staff was kind & helpful. They took great care of our dog, but the extended help they offered to make the visit as easy as possible was beyond any expectation I had. Thank you to the staff for your genuine care.

Richmond Valley Vet has been my personal vet for my Bulldogs for the last 20+ years. I wouldn’t trust my own bulldogs with anyone but the doctors and staff of Richmond Valley.The doctors and staff at RV are the kindest ppl in the industry and they are huge supporters of rescue, especially Long Island Bulldog Rescue. As a long time volunteer of LIBR, we have brought hundreds of bulldogs to Richmond Valley and we consider the staff and doctors to be the most knowledgeable with the bulldog breed. They always look out for our coordinators, fosters and alumni.We couldn’t do what we do without Richmond Valley and their compassionate staff.

Greatest vets ever - especially if you have a bulldog breed! I have no problem driving an hour for my appointments. The doctors and staff are both very professional and personable. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my babies but them.

Im a bulldog mama and they are the bulldog experts. Been coming here for 10 years with multiple dogs (and a few kitties) and I cannot even begin to explain how thorough they are, their compassion, their patience (i ask lot of questions) and just their over all expertise and professionalism. Its hard to find a vet you can trust, a vet that wont bs you and a vet who wont drain every bit out of your wallet. This practice always looks out for their patients. From the front desk staff to the vet techs to the doctors, I sincerely owe them a debt of gratitude for always being their for me and my fur babies. They work trully work tirelessly to make sure your experience is positive and more importantly they care for every animal as if they were their own. Thanks for all you guys do!

They do not over charge or over test your pet. Staff is awesome and Maple loves everyone there. My only complaint is I didnt bring my pets here sooner.

Love all the vets here they do great with our Frenchie who has some back issues here and does not like going to the vet at all. I appreciate their knowledge of the french bulldog and quick response when he seems sick. My only issue is that after arriving for the appointment it usually takes 30 minutes to an hour after the scheduled time to be seen in the office. So just know to not plan anything close to your appointment

Our French bulldog puppy was very sick. Three different vets and two different facilities misdiagnosed him. We were able to get in quickly to see Dr. Powell and our pup was given the correct treatment. Our puppy was much more like himself when leaving. They also provided an estimate of services which was very much so accurate. Thank you to Dr Powell & the staff at Richmond Valley Vet!

I recently had a poor experience with a RVVP staff member and left a review stating my experience with this individual. After I left the review I was contacted immediately by the office manager who was SO incredibly supportive and empathetic towards my partner and I. They not only reassured us that our concerns would be addressed and that it wouldnt occur again- they also went above and beyond at our next visit. We really do appreciate the Doctors and staff at RVVP, they continue to provide us with the best care for our dog and cat, educating us, while also paying attention to our experiences. We appreciate them greatly!

It was the first time Rocco went to the vet. Unfortunately due to covid, pet parents are not allowed in office but they were organized with appointments and came out to get the dog and after the check up the doctor came outside to speak with us. So far the treatments that were recommended for Rocco seem to be working so far. The price I guess is reasonable, this is the first place we have been too. So far I like it. I would recommend that you check them out.

Went to Richmond County Vet for the first time as I recently adopted a cat. Although it was not the closest vet to me they came very highly recommended by several friends and Facebook connections so I thought I would give them a try. Even in these COVID times the were very organized and provided timely personalized care for my cat. I also like that they have their own phone app to to help schedule and expedite a visit. 5+ stars for sure!!!!

I have been going to Richmond Valley Veterinary practice since 2009. They showed great care with my first dog for eight years, who needed great deal of care due to two dog related diseases. They are now caring for my present dog with the same great care. Every Doctor there is basically your Veterinary Doctor.

I’ve been bringing all my pets here for yearsThe staff treats every client like family, they know you & your pets. Best care my baby could’ve received when she was diagnosed with Addison’s, they allowed her to live a wonderful life through her illness. They greet my other dog and make her so comfortable being there unlike most pets mine like visiting the vet.

My family has taken all of our dogs here over the past 25 years. They are always excellent. We currently have 3 labs now and will take them to any of the Vet’s at Richmond Valley, we love them all. The staff behind the counter are also always so kind, patient, and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place more for your pets!

The Veterinarians and their Staff are Very Professional, Skilled, and Caring. The team works together to provide Top-Notch assessment, care/treatment. There are less expensive options out there - and you get what you pay for. Your pets Unconditionally Love, Care For, and Protect You and Your Family. Everyone will have to decide for themselves what is right for them and fits their situation.

Richmond Valley Veterinarian Practice is by one of the best on Staten Island. We had a bulldog mix that was a patient here for 12 years until she passed. We brought her here on her last day on the weekend close to closing time. They stayed with our Bella and us until she went to heaven. We let time pass before we could bring our new baby girl French Bulldog last summer and she just had her spay surgery. This is the place for our babies. The best service and care for your furry loved ones!

If I could give this place zero stars I definitely would. First I call the office to let them know I was running 10 minutes late because my dog was extremely sick they basically told me I had to be there by 11:30 or they wouldnt see her mind you my appointment was for 11:15 anyway when I arrived there I called them asking for assistance because my dog was covered in vomit and fecal matter they proceeded to tell me they cant help me until I text that I was there. After texting my arrival I then had to wait outside for 40 minutes in 95 degree weather with my dog because she was filthy and no one came out to check her or help. Audrey and Dr Esposito were exceptional they were the only ones that cared and couldnt believe my dog was outside that long. Dr Esposito throughly examined my dog checking her temperature because she was out so long and providing fluids, she went over my dogs needs and took her time, Audrey ran inside and grabbed gloves, napkins and disinfectant spray to help me clean my car they were amazing. Unfortunately the front desk and the floating women outside were horrible, during this time multiple people saw my dog in distress and just bypassed me I was also informed by Dr Esposito that no one told her my dog was outside sick.After having almost a 3 hour trip to the vet I left without my dogs medication because they make you wait for that as well after they bring out your pet, when i called to let them know they forgot about me again first i was hung up on then she proceeded to ask for payment instead of apologizing for their lack of care and concern. I will never ever return here again!!! I will be sure everyone I originally recommended to come visit will not return as well. They dont care for your animals all they care for is the money and a text message!!!! Horrible horrible experience

We’ve used Richmond Valley for many years. The doctors and staff are very caring and thorough. The facility is well kept. They have provided excellent care for our dogs including regular check ups and surgeries (bladder stones and cysts).

I made an appointment because they specialize in the Bully/Bulldog Breed. I was very pleased with our first experience with the Office Staff, Vet Technicians, and Dr. Powell.We Highly recommend Dr. Powell, he was very professional and caring. He explained everything to me in a way that I understood. Taught me a few things I didn’t know.Some Vets I’ve gone to over the years, seemed like a revolving door, make apt. Check animal, here’s the bill, goodbye… Not here!!! They took the time and love for each animal & owners that walks through their doors!!!The staff was amazing. The office was Very clean. They had procedures in place due to COVID and it actually wasn’t bad at all. Extremely Easy to follow instructions and went fast.Thanks to all the staff at Richmond Valley for taking care of my baby girl. Kiwi and I can’t wait for her next visit.

Had an appointment there tonight and never even made it in. You have to text upon arrival and wait for them to come and get your pet. They really are milking Covid. Two staff members outside were not at all helpful or cared if we stayed or left. Not friendly at all. The reviews are right. I should have canceled after reading those terrible reviews but I wanted to give it a try and see for myself. I would not recommend anyone to go there

Everyone at Richmond Valley Veterinary Practice is so nice and accommodating. My cat has horrible teeth and I decided to use another veterinarian because I had a discount. On the day of the extraction procedure, I was not reminded to sedate my unruly cat so they canceled the procedure.Richmond Valley took her and performed the procedure that day. My cat is healing nicely and hopefully has no more pain as a result of teeth. The cost was not more at Richmond Valley, even with the discount at the other place.

1st Dog, 1st Vet, & Richmond Vet is simply awesome. Its always chaotic in there and the staff takes everything in amazing stride. I would throw 1/2 the customers out of the place if I worked there, but they have unwavering patience and the Vets act the same way when you are in the room. Answer every question, super helpful, and friendly. I drive over an hour each way to take our dog here! Thanks!

Everyone was pleasant and loved my puppy I observed how their interaction was with older animals and they obviously had a wonderful repur with them as well. The doctor took longer than I anticipated but apologized as soon as she walked in due to an emergency. Im very pleased with just one visit

I have a fat guy, 93 lb pit we had to walk this day about 1 ½ miles quickly to clinic and Im recovering from a fractured leg and foot due to a extremely bad accident making it impossible to get to clinic driving. Dr. Powell and staff not only worried for Gunny but also me making sure we was ok. Gunny loves the staff there, gives everyone big kisses just looks intimidating and they know it and love him.

Dr Hynes and his staff are exceptionally kind and caring. From the quality of care to assisting with end of life decisions to welcoming new members into our family, the support we receive on a regular basis is unmatched by any vet I have ever encountered and I have had pets most of my life! I recently went to Richmond Valley Veterinary Practice and was thrilled with the way the safety of the pets and the humans is handled. You park in their lot, text the practice that you have arrived and as soon as they are ready for your pet, someone comes out to pick up your pet, explain the process and then brings your pet in for whatever is needed. As soon as they are done, your pet is brought out to you and someone calls you for payment and to deliver any medicine needed. My dog had an unexpected illness and the vet called me personally to discuss it. I highly recommend this practice. Everyone is professional and animal loving!

Dr Jason Shull was very honest and compassionate about the ill health of my cat Nadia. Explained there was nothing he could do to help (he was my 4th opinion). He was very honest and said he could rerun every test but that would be ripping me off. Euthanasia was unfortunately the best option. I had a private cremation never did this before and it was beautiful when I received her Angel Dust 🐾in just one day after her passing. They were also compassionate about the fact that I wanted to take her home after the Euthanasia to have a Wake for her amongst her her other Furfamily and friends, no problem they said. I returned to the facility the next day. It was a Tuesday she passed, on Thursday I received her Angel Dust.

The visit was thorough and everything was explained clearly. Dr. Osterman and the vet tech Michael were compassionate and caring. Even though they ran a little behind with the appointment because of an unexpected issue, they were very apologetic and accommodating.

Today was our last straw with this place. Between myself and my wife, our families collectively have been going to this vet for 24 years. They have always provided the absolute best vet care and best treatments for all of our dogs. No matter what the issue was, there were always there for us, especially Dr. Maccia. He has always been outstanding in every way. Sadly, ever since COVID, the quality of care has gone completely downhill in certain areas. The staff has seemed to completely care less about providing great customer service and being personal with clients. Nowadays you can’t get anyone on the phone anymore I feel like, they only want to respond to you via text, email or an app. They absolutely don’t want to be bothered with people anymore and it’s a disgrace. They are milking COVID for everything it’s worth and it’s a joke. You can’t have two people go in with your pet, have to wait in your car until called, can’t stand near your dog while in the exam room and more nonsense. When you call, it’s a 45 minute wait to talk to an actual human being, another joke. They are readily available to talk to someone but use this method as an excuse as they just don’t care anymore. We found another vet closer to home today and they literally don’t do any of this nonsense. No masks required, both parents can go in and it’s business as usual. I called multiple vets and none of them do the nonsense this place does. They need to seriously grow up and realize their in the people business and a text message doesn’t solve everything. Very sad, but they lost clients because they stopped caring and now we don’t either.

DONT GO! Been going to this practice for over a decade with multiple pets. But now I definitely wouldn’t recommend and am very dissatisfied. Had blood work and cytology done for a concerning issue regarding my Shih Tzu. Been waiting to hear back about the results that have been sitting there for 3 weeks because Dr.Atkinson is only in one day out of the week. But isn’t professional enough to call. Waiting 3 WEEKS FOR AN UPDATE?? But of course the bill of hundreds of dollars was paid that same day. This practice has gone down the toilet, you and your pet are only $$$ to them. Staff is horrendous and make sure you clear your day because the appointments now take 2 hours or more.

Being a new client in the office, the service was great! I love how the staff welcomed myself and my dog. The doctor was very thorough when speaking to him and the process to check out and schedule my next appointment was easy! Thank you!

Wonderful staff and experience each time I have been there. Very caring, loving and compassionate with animals. The doctors explain everything in detail and spend as much time needed with you doing so. Both my cats will be staying with this practice forever.

Vet John Hynes is great, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He is patient with us as we are first time pet owners! He answers all questions we have without via text or at our puppy appointments. Staff is very accommodating and helpful!

Dr. Powell saved my bulldogs life.I live in Manhattan and when my bulldog initially got sick I took him to his Manhattan Veterinary Practice as an emergency because he was excessively vomiting and not eating or drinking anything. This is on a review on the Manhattan Veterinary Practice, so long story short, they mis diagnosed my dog multiple times and cost me a lot of money and emotional stress as my dog was very very ill and nothing they gave him was making him feel any better.I decided I need to take a trip to Staten Island to visit Richmond Valley as they have a great reputation in the nyc bulldog community. They looked at his X-ray and turned out he needed an emergency surgery to remove a toy particle from his intestines.On top of this they had also correctly diagnosed my dogs chicken allergy when he was a puppy.I have changed my vet in Manhattan and still take my dog for convenience purposes, but if i feel like something is wrong, I always make an appointment at Richmond Valley.

I started taking my fur baby to Richmond Valley Veterinary just recently. I have only had good experiences there. Everyone is professional and friendly. My main reason to bring my Bichon Frise Bianca to that facility is because she gets to see Dr. John Hynes. He took care of my Bianca at another facility when I first became her Mommy, Bianca being the first dog I had ever owned after I retired. Dr. Hynes was so kind and understanding and realized I was a first time dog owner, and always put my mind at ease. Answered all my questions, and always had a smile on his face. For this I am so grateful.

Ive been driving 45min to Richmond Valley for 25yrs. First for Dr. Kinnear before he retired, and now for Drs. Powell and Maccia. They are worth every bit of traffic on the NJ Parkway. I wouldnt take my Frenchies anywhere else. They treat you like family, know the breed, dont price gouge - and you make new friends in the waiting room. I cant recommend this practice enough. Yes, Im the lady that will text you this vet contact information if I see you and your bully baby in a parking lot! :)

Our puppies vet is great I just feel this place is becoming like a factory. Just get as many people in and out as possible. This ends feeling like they could care less about your pet. Years ago I did not have this experience which is why i chose to go back when we got a puppy. I’ll keep going for now to see how it goes.

I was very nervous about my new puppy. Doc came to speak to me and was very sweet and understanding and put my mind at ease. First time using this vet and am very happy my new puppy is in good hands.

Just wanted to thank Richmond Valley veterinarian practice for the great service durning this time . The service was great from when I pulled up . The dr Dr osterman came out and greeted us and our sweet dog dolly with open arms . She asked us all questions on what was happening and took dolly in . When appointment was done Dr. Osterman came back out with dolly and told us what was wrong explained everything to the fullest and how meds should be give and said to keep an eye on her and any problems to call . Dr. Osterman is a wonderful dr and will recommend her to friends and family . Thanks again

I’ve been going to Richmond Valley for 8 years. My Rottie sees Dr. Maccia. The clinic is always clean and orderly. Dr. Maccia is always thorough and professional. He does a thorough exam even though my boy is doing his best to get at him. The staff is professional and courteous. I have never felt that any products are being pushed for profit.

This is a very established and experienced practice. I would recommend to all dog owners especially if you have a bulldog. I drive 2 hours to get the best care for mine and never get ripped off. 4 time bulldog owner and loyal customer!

Great place. My pup goes for routine care and unfortunately has had 2 serious events, she ate a human medication and had a GI Bleed they were all amazing. Shes had 3 surgeries there with no complications and I know she was in great hands

I now travel from NJ with my 2 yorkys to see Dr.Shull, he is a great vet. Im praying he doesnt leave there. It took us going to 2 other animal hospitals until we found him. We have owned dogs over 50 yrs and know when we found a sincere one. Highly recommend him.

Our pets, 8 year old cat and 4 year old dog, are our babies ... part of our family ... so when it came time for veterinarian care I asked for recommendations ... this special place came highly recommended by far along with Dr Macias name.I have been very happy with Richmond Valley, friendly accommodating staff and Dr. Macia is the best ... thorough, caring, and knowledgeable.I also appreciate that they send me emails and texts reminding me to follow up with vaccinations etc.

I took my cat Sofia and the nurses and doctors gave her the best care she could have, especially Dr. Carrie Osterman, she had a lot of cares, dedication and quickly attended Sofia, she did the studies super fast and the results of them in less than 30 minutes. Sofia couldnt be in better hands, we are very grateful to the staff and doctors, thanks to them Sofia recovers very favorably.

I live in Brooklyn and still do... but Ive been going to Dr. Esposito at Richmond Valley Vet for about 25 years... Yes a bit crazy to drive all the way there and back... Ive been to other places and Vets in Brooklyn with friends and family... Hands down I believe the Richmond Valley and Dr. Esposito are the best of the best! The girls at the front desk, the techs, other Vets at the practice are all really great people.... Shout out to Jennifer, Veronica, Adrea, Debbie really cant remember everyones name but they are all very nice... They get what you need done!!!

We have been bringing our 3 dogs here for years. We love Doctor Shull! All of our dogs have different medical issues from knee surgery to allergies and it has always been a wonderful experience. We love Richmond Valley!!

Staff is always willing to help. Somewhat pricey but great care for your pet. Should also have one or two additional groomers for non scheduled visits. I could never seem to get a groomers appt.

I had an emergency and called before I came in. I was seen immediately and Dr. Shull and his assistants helped to calm us down as well as attend to my dog. Overall the procedure was fast, they knew what they were doing from the get go, and their bedside manner was above and beyond amazing.

Been going here for 25 plus years. Too my dog to get groomed, they needed up cutting her and giving her stitches. Then proceeded to charge me for the stitches and said “well she still go groomed.” What a joke.

Never again! Today we came with our first pup and I witnessed how one of the vet tech (who somehow listed on their website as a front desk person named Jen) grabbed a dog into the air with a prong collar. It was a German shepherd pup who was screaming in pain! When the owner asked for the first time to take it easy,Vet tech simply ignored her till the owner started to yell at her! Instead of apologising, vet tech said she shouldn’t teach her how to do her job and that she has a 10 ears of experience (probably as a front desk not a vet tech). Don’t know what happened after but we left immediately and won’t be back for sure. it’s our first dog and if their vet techs acting so unprofessional I’m afraid to think about their vets.

I recently took my new dog that I adopted from a rescue group ( and donated 1500.00 dollars to for adoption) to this office for diarrhea and a cough. I met a wonderful veterinarian that took excellent care of my rescue Lucy and ordered pill antibiotics for her . I did not realize that Lucy was smarter then her years and absolutely would not swallow the huge pill any way I tried to give her . I called the office and was on the phone with Jennifer that was extremely rude and belittling on the phone when I called office for liquid antibiotics for my dog. I told her my dog was too smart and spit out antibiotics in whatever I put it in . She rudely said you have to give the pills to work and I replayed I am a RN and aware of that and she said oh good for you ? She told me 160.00 more for the liquid antibiotics and I said I would do anything to get her better and Jennifer replied yeah right ? I went to pickup medicine and asked to speak to Dr Powell the owner and he said to me - look everyone is still upset your mother put her dog to sleep and I replied what does that have to do with me and my dog ? and Dr Powell replied you are related? I was absolutely horrified at the way I was being treated and my mother does not even live in my home , she has her own apartment. My mother spend almost 2000 at this office trying to cure her 3 year old dog with 105 fever for weeks despite the dog not eating or drinking anymore my mother made the difficult decision to put her dog to sleep that lost 4 pounds in a week and couldn’t even stand up anymore. Now having said that what did I do to deserve rude behavior and scolding from Dr Powell and his office that accepted over 500 dollars more to put her dog to sleep in his office. I expected an apology for the unbelievable rude treatment and attacking of my character because I was related to my mother. I plan to file a complaint with the board and will hire an attorney for discrimination by association and any money from this lawsuit will be donated to an animal charity . Dr Powell- you and your staff we out of line to tell me not to return to your practice because you didn’t agree with my mothers decision to put her suffering dog to sleep in your office no less shame on you for allowing your staff and yourself to blame me for someone else you didn’t agree with her decision. You lack professionalism and should not be in practice. Discrimination is wrong whether it’s related to race or known association to someone you don’t like that never did anything to you .Sent from my iPhone

I have been taking my dogs to RVVP for 43 years. The staff is wonderful and caring and the Dr. Maccia is the best! I have full confidence in the competence of all the staff and I would recommend this practice to all pet owners.
