We were looking for personalized training for our dog Louie to help get him on a pathway to become a Therapy Dog, and found k9 Connection… and we’re so glad we did! They took the time to figure out our specific needs and Louie’s training goals, developed a plan to help us get the together, and guided us every step of the way. Louie has transformed over the past couple months, and due to the diligent expertise of Tracy and k9 Connection, just passed his Canine Good Citizen tests! Our family recommends k9 connection enthusiastically! Thank you k9 Connection!!!
My husband and I can’t thank K9 connection enough. We rescued our baby girl and she came with fear aggression and resource guarding. We had put her in prior trainings and day camps but nothing helped. We finally found K9 connection and with their board and train program we found ourselves more confident with Willow, and found Willow to be much more confident in herself! She has since made human and dog friends. The whole staff loves Willow like she’s their dog, and it shows.
We own a bratty. little Jack Russell named Beau. Beau was out of control, so we signed him up for the board and train program at K9 Connection. Adrianne was his trainer and she did a wonderful job training Beau and educating us. He is now a different dog - much more compliant, walks on a leash and comes when I call. Training is a lot of hard work, we never could have done this on our own. Thank you to Adrianne and all of the staff for helping us.
I can’t express enough thanks to the trainers and staff of K9 Connection! My pup Olive went through their board and train program. She has learned so much and I get compliments every where I go with her on how well behaved she is. Kim, her trainer, was so patient and loving with the shy pup she met. Olive left with confidence and manners. She is a proper K9 citizen who is eager to try new adventures! I will be sending Olive to their enrichment program as well. I highly recommend K9 Connection!! At 7 months old Olive has a firm grip on basic commands and obedience. I wanted the best for her, that’s why I chose K9 Connection!
2 years post board and train and it was life changing. My dog will never be a perfect balanced dog but k9 connection gave my dog the foundation and us the knowledge to manage his quirks. The relationship we have with our dog has never been better.
Kim taught our dog in beginner scent class and was extremely patient and encouraging. She gave great insight into what scent competition would be like while also encouraging our dog in her next steps of behavior progress. We look forward to taking future classes at K9 connection!
We went to puppy classes with Tracy and we not only had so much fun but learned so much! Tracy was amazing, helping us with lots of tips. Even our 3 kids were able to participate. Anyone with a puppy should go to Tracy!! She knows how to work her magic. Our fur baby is happier and so are we!!And my 5yo can walk him without us worrying he’ll push her to the ground. Such a difference!
We had an amazing experience with our 8 month old puppy. All of the staff at K9 are wonderfully helpful. We worked with Jay for board and train and his knowledge, communication and guidance is exceptional!
I cannot thank Jay and K9 Connection enough. When my German Shepherd rescue got out of hand, it really worried me, and I lost a lot of sleep over it. I am as attached to him as he is to me, but I could not let him place us in jeopardy just because he (or I) might lose control of a situation. I did not know really what to expect when I brought him in, and I figured he would be a tough case. At the end of it I got my buddy back, for which I am grateful.
Our hoppy hound mix, Boudica just finished working with Chris & she is now a very well behaved and confident young lady in our busy neighborhood full of distractions and people to jump on (which she no longer does!). She’s even been complimented by neighbors about her good behavior and obedience skills. She went from being uncontrollable on-leash, to strutting her stuff like an absolute boss & ignoring most distractions. If she does get reactive, I now know how to regain her focus. We both learned a lot from working with Chris, and we’ll likely be back for more classes and maybe some enrichment!
We took our dog Annabelle to K9 Connection to curb her reactivity to other dogs. Working with Danielle we saw an almost immediate change in her behavior. From not being able to walk her in public where other dogs were present to now she is a perfect lady on walks. Danielle has been wonderful with Annabelle and communicated clearly to us on how to put Annabelle in a position to succeed. Danielle and the staff have been a pleasure to work with and words cannot express how pleased my wife and I have been with Annabelles progress.
We just finish “Agility Foundations” with Kim and just loved it. Mona and I learned so much and had the best time. We can’t wait to start our next class at K9 Connection!
Grooming experience was wonderful! Ashley groomed Thatcher, an airedale terrier, perfectly! highly recommend their grooming services. looking forward to scent training beginning in september!
Tracy and Chris were so helpful and knowledgeable. I love that they listen to your concerns and do what is best for you and your dog! Love k9 connection!
Buddy attends enrichment daycare and he loves going so much! Afterward, he is always so bright-eyed, happy and relaxed. Buddy and I are so grateful to all the staff; everyone has been incredible!
Might have to stop bringing my Shih Tzu here for grooming because she comes home looking so cute that I cant say no to her. The staff is so nice to her that she never wants to leave. Only bring your dog here if you think they deserve the absolute best and you are prepared to give them whatever they want.
Kim Kocol at K9 Connection has been a huge support for us as we navigate our working hunting breed, Sage. Kim studied animal behavior and has years of experience working with dogs and her clients. She is good at reading her clients (consider the human) and their dogs (consider the dog). I highly recommend her and K9 Connections. Five stars and well worth effort to get to know your K9.
My puppy Kupo and I recently attended puppy classes earlier this year with Tracy, and benefitted a ton from the intro lessons and socialization with other pups and people. It was actually such a nice foundation, we then decided to continue 1 on 1 lessons with Tracy afterwards! Her combination of being knowledgeable, personable, and caring has been great to help cater training specific to Kupo.Since then, his walking and overall behavior has improved, and were well on our way to him being a well mannered puppy who can play with others safely & appropriately and can be taken anywhere. Hoping to get him in for enrichment daycare soon too!
We adopted Loki, the latest addition to our family, and we thought puppy classes would be an excellent way to help our new pup learn and grow. Tracy is great! Our pup learned the basic commands and developed leash skills. We learned how to better interact with our pup. Our kids even went and participated, which was great, so now they learned the skills needed to feel confident walking Loki and taking care of him. Thank you, Tracy, for everything you do!
Love K9 Connection! We first used them for our older dog, Sully, who needed some socialization work; he loved all of the staff and trainers during his boarding program. Our other dog, Ruthie, regularly attends enrichment days. She always has an amazing time. They are a great, one-stop facility for all things training and enrichment related. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly!
We’ve used K9 Connection in the past, and we were so impressed that naturally when we adopted another rescue we went to them for basic training needs. Kim, our trainer, helped our very (VERY) excited full grown Boxer puppy with his bouncing off the walls when meeting new people and new dogs. Kim also allowed our pup to socialize the RIGHT way with dogs of varying energies. After just a few months of lessons, and practicing at home, Bruno follows basic commands, walks pleasantly, and is able to enjoy playtime at dog daycare and dog parks! We would (and have many times in the past 6 years) recommend K9 Connection for all your dog training needs.
Thank you to Kim our trainer at K9 connection Phoenix has madeSo much progress , we are very great full for all your help and theGreat tips and training we received! I will recommend your servicesTo my friends and anyone that asked about dog training
Went to K9 Connection to address my dog’s reactivity and had a personal trainer, Tracy, provide us with visual demonstrations and hands-on practice to ensure our carryover to home. In addition, K9 Connection is one of the only doggy daycares that limits the amount of dogs allowed to come that day to avoid overstimulation. In doggy daycare, they provide constant supervision and 1-on-1 time with your dog. They tell you about what your dog has done that day.
We adopted a dog who is Deaf who pulled a lot on walks, reacting to people on walks and hard to get his attention. We were assigned to work with Kim and she is amazing. She learned the signs we use with our dog and also helped us create new ones during his training. Kim was very response with any questions we had, was amazing with sending videos and follow up information during his board and training sessions. Was amazing to see improvements with our dog. Would definitely recommend working with them.
This place is amazing! My dog Yoko always seemed to have issues with some dogs, and that’s due to trauma she endured as a puppy. Not only is she doing great in their enrichment program, but we also see a difference in her interactions with other dogs now! She seems more interested rather than scared/agressive.The enrichment program is different than other dog day cares that just stuff all dogs into a room together and hope for the best. K9 connection hand selects small groups of dogs that get along together for playtime, let’s dog rest so they don’t get overstimulated, provides puzzles, takes dogs on pack walks, and 1 on 1 time with the attendants.Really an amazing place and we will keep coming back :)
My dog, Piper, and I worked with trainer Tracy. This dog was highly fearful from the rough start to her life as a feral stray. Tracy helped Piper escape the fight or flight mode shed probably been living in the majority of her life and Piper began to understand the joys of people and being a house dog. The training truly changed Pipers life for the best! A lot of the other trainers their helped condition Piper to strangers and all of them seemed so lovely. Overall, the facility is well kept and the staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
I’ve never had a dog before, so I signed up for puppy class. Tracy was the instructor and taught me so much! She had a knack for understanding my dog’s behavior and taught me what to look for. I highly recommend her and K9 Connection!
K9 connections made a huge difference with Athena throughout the years and Im forever greatful for Tyler and his staff for being so amazing with her ❤️ she was truly a amazing dog and was a amazing part in my life , she rescued me when I had a stroke 5 years ago if it wasnt for her I wouldnt be here today . They trained her so well and anyone I know that needs that extra help I truly refer them . Thank you so much 💗
Highly recommend the investment with K9 Connection. My dog came from the buffalo animal shelter. He was fairly clueless. K9 came highly recommended, so I enrolled him in K9s 2-week bootcamp and it was well worth the money! The session completes with a wrap-up training session to train the human on how to communicate with him, and it was a joy! I feel that I and the dog have a solid foundation for success. He can sit, down, and place for up to an hour (havent tried longer than that), he comes when called and he walks at heel. After a couple weeks at home of structured learning he now even does excellent off leash! When a new puppy joined my family, again from the buffalo animal hospital, some of the behaviors of the puppy with the other dog had me concerned. I arranged for a house call to have K9 evaluate the two dogs for compatibility, and they were great in walking through an evaluation, explaining the behaviors, providing insights into puppy and dog psychology, what they meant, and provided instruction on approaches and structures for different scenarios, and really set my mind at ease knowing that what I was seeing was healthy, normal, important for the puppy to experience and having tools to ensure a happy pack integration. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, the facilities are great, and engaging their services is a worthwhile investment. Check them out!
K9 Connection is the best dog training group in Buffalo. I adopted my dog from the City Shelter around 4 months ago - hes a 1 year old hound mix. Through a combination of private lessons and the board & train program, my dog is continually getting better at his dog reactivity. My dog used to scream incredibly loud at other dogs making walks impossible and embarrassing. We have it down to a small whimper with a fast recovery time. Cait is an amazing trainer and continues to support us with whatever we need. The entire staff is so lovely and kind - working with us every step of the way with no judgements. He is now starting their enrichment daycare program. They are worth every penny and you will not be disappointed!
I have only wonderful things to say about K-9 Connection! I explained my particular situation and my specific needs. I have Parkinsons Diseaseand wanted my Shiloh Shepard – Thor, to not only be a good dog citizen in public, but I needed him to help me with my mobility and stability.I was definitely heard! Thor worked with several excellent trainers but most of the time trainer Kim Kocul was in charge!Thor was part of their 4 week Board and Train program. We got him weekends to work on what Kim taught him. We were part of the team. The change in Thor continues to be AMAZING!Kim is absolutely terrific and everyone at K-9 Connection is so accommodating!
So grateful I found K9 Connection!! My pup Rocky had some resource guarding issues he developed very young and I had no idea how to tackle that. Karen and all the staff are very knowledgeable and knew exactly what my boy needed. After some adjustments in my home and 8 personal lessons he is doing amazing and I couldn’t be happier! It is great to go to the weekly lessons to get the tools and guidance needed and then take that information home and work on it. “Place” has by far been the best and most helpful command we learned and I highly recommend all dogs learn this. If you are questioning whether to make the investment in training stop and just do it!! You will not be sorry! Thanks again so much K9 Connection!!
Our investment in K9 Connection has completely changed life at home with our 1 year old male beagle. In August, he attended a three week board and train for what we considered to be serious resource guarding issues. Nobody who knew him before puppy rehab (as we fondly referred to it) can believe that he is the same dog, and we finally feel like he is part of the family. Our dog listens, shows self-control, does not drive us crazy, and, most importantly, does not threaten us or our children. We actually enjoy being around him. As our trainer Danielle said, this is what life with a dog is supposed to be like! And speaking of Danielle, she was incredibly patient, full of wisdom, and never made us feel incompetent for needing help in the first place. She continues to be so helpful even now that our official training program has ended. We might have to form an official fan club. :DSo for anyone wondering if the price is worth it, the answer is YES, YES, YES. Thank you Danielle and all of your colleagues at K9 Connection for transforming our dog AND our relationship with our dog!
I spent 2 weeks at K9 Connection for a dog training seminar and shadow program and I was very impressed with the work Tyler Muto and his staff are doing there with all the dogs at the facility. Not only did the dogs board and training get one-on-one daily enrichment outside of their regular training, but even the dogs attending daycare received one-on-one enrichment sessions each day.It was amazing to see the day-to-day progress of the board and train dogs and how many different activities each dog got to do in one day. Because they don’t take in too many board and trains at once they have plenty of time to spend with the dogs and each dog is treated as an individual. The staff were very patient with the dogs and with us wondering around the facility for a week. They were compassionate and respectful of their human clients and really listened to their clients thoughts and feelings. They work very hard to keep the place clean and running smoothly. I was impressed with the cleanliness as well as the calm atmosphere.I would recommend K9 Connections to anyone looking for daycare, pet dog training or behavior modification. Tyler Muto and his staff are very devoted to, and succeeding in dog rehabilitation. Not just managing behaviors with obedience commands, but truly seeking to guide dogs to better emotional health and a freer, more enriching life.
We loved having Karen as our trainer! I took my rescue here for a 5 week board and train. I was very anxious about the whole thing, but after he started, I felt a lot more at ease about him being there. Karen sent me regular updates each day of the week about how my boy was doing and what they were working on. The end of the week lesson was very helpful to wrap things up, and I learned so much in the process! She also gave great recommendations on how to continue building confidence, and we are now doing scent work training!
K9 connection was great for me and my dogs. When I adopted my older dog, I was told he could never be let off leash, and to me that didnt seem acceptable for a dog who loves to swim and have a great time outside. K9 connection helped me make it so my dog could have a chance to live the life every dog actually wants. Training here is really all about education of yourself and your relationship with your dog. They are friendly people (shout out to my trainer Dave) and the facilities are nice. My only slightly negative thing is the cost of training here, as a student it was really pricey, but after going through all the training, it was really worth everything I paid.
K9 Connection is it! From excellent puppy classes to socialization, tune-ups, certificates, aggression management or whatever else you need go see Tracy W. and start communicating better with your best friend.
I highly recommend Kim Kocol as a trainer. She had good advice and now my dog and cat can live together with me being less stressed . I learned a lot about my dog and his behavior. She gave me recommendations to use at home and communicated with me about his training . I had a great experience with my private sessions. I was very impressed with my dogs progress .
Excellent training facility! The building was extremely clean and well managed. The trainer spent an entire day with my dog and over 2 hours with me at the end of the day explaining how to best address the behavior issues he identified. I live almost 100 miles from this facility but if I lived closer I would definitely take my dogs to the day care and play groups. Highly recommended if you are struggling with your dogs behavior!
We are very thankful for the last 5 days of remote collar training with Tyler Muto. It was an eye opening Seminar that allowed us to validate our current methods but gave us an understanding of the remote collar. We learned the science and logic behind the remote collar training and new techniques on how to introduce the training tool, and more effective ways to communicate to dogs.Tyler is extremely passionate about dog training and it was such an awesome experience learning from someone that is at the top of the craft. Thank you to Tyler and his awesome staff for hosting us and giving us such a great experience. K9 Connection facility is top notch and a great place to train dogs. We are super excited to get back home and start working dogs and using all techniques and passing all this knowledge along to our clients. Thanks again K9 Connection Buffalo!
My dog attends daycare here one day a week. While we have not participated in formal obedience training here, I have noticed a dramatic improvement in her leash manners. I can only equate this to she is learning from the pack walks she receives at daycare. The staff implements structure and balance which you see when you walk in and they consistently reinforce the behavior with my dog. When I pick her up even though it is one day a week. I can see how much she is learning and growing here. Not to mention, the little daily report cards they give you at pick up are the cutest.
Where do I begin honestly? K9 connection has changed our life. My husband and I have 2 large lab/German shepherds (siblings) that we got 6 years ago. I had heard a lot about K9 connection from friends and the internet but I was still slightly skeptical knowing our dogs needed a decent amount of work. Our main goals were:-To not have them charge/bark/jump/get protective when people walked into our home- to have them be able to walk past other dogs without having a panic attach.- have them listen and respond to commands better- walking nicely- become a pack leader for them- and most importantly not to fight each other (they had gotten into a couple serious scuffles in the past)We sent our more territorial god to boot camp for 6 weeks and the other did private lessons at the same time. The results were amazing:-Our dogs will stay on their beds while our friends and family walk into the house. (They still cry and sometimes bark but they dont charge them and scare them!)-we can take them on the bike path past other dogs without them barking and lunging and pulling.- they walk right next to us without pulling. We have even been practicing this off leash and they are doing very well.- they have not gotten into any fights because they have more discipline and they can be separated on their beds without crates or gates.- they listen and respond quickly with eye contact. We seriously couldnt ask for better results! We strongly recommend them to everyone who needs even the smallest corrections :)
I contacted K9 Connection because our new pup Riley was really out of control with biting, jumping, and had serious aggression with food and with toys at times. Anything he got his mouth on he thought it was his and would not release. I signed up for the private lessons however, in my first session with David, we realized the board and train would be a better fit for Riley. We signed him up for 4 weeks, while he was doing well with certain commands, Allison, who was assigned to Riley also, felt his food aggression needed to be addressed longer so Riley stayed for 2 more weeks. We met with Allison for a 2 hour session so she could go over everything with us. She said if it took longer than 2 hours, she didnt mind because what was most important is that we were comfortable once we took Riley home. It did run over 2 hrs. I cant thank Allison, Dave, and the whole crew at K9 Connections enough for what they did for us. Not only did they train Riley, but they educated us on what kind of dog we have and how to move forward with him. Riley is doing well and yes he does try to get away with things, but we are using all the tools K9 Connections gave us and the house is so much less stressful. While the food aggression/resource aggressionwas severe, he has improved tremendously. Walks are enjoyable, he knows the boundaries in the backyard, and he has not chewed on a dish towel, shoe, or rug since he has been home. Tyler posted a video about Rileys food aggression and someone commented on what a great job he did and probably saved this beautiful dogs life. Well that really sunk in hard because that person was probably right. K9 Connections was our last resort and they came through in a big way. Allison was so patient and honest with us and she checks in to see how Riley is doing, what great customer service. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Wendy & Jim Montante
We were at a difficult crossroad with our 3 year old hound mix and turned to K9 Connections board & Train to help us get his aggression and resource guarding behaviors under control. We were really feeling desperate and took what we believed was our dogs last chance. We are SO pleased and grateful that we did!! I wish we would have known about them back when he was a puppy and stopped the behaviors from spiraling out of control like they have. Our dog Finley worked with Sami for 4 weeks and it has been life changing for us. We now feel confident that we can control him in situations that could result in someone potentially getting hurt. We will continue to involve Finley with this business as they provide sooo many different services that could be tailored to fit your dogs specific needs. They also are willing to stay in contact and set up additional “lessons” in the future if you find that you and your pup need a refresher or new behaviors arise. They all genuinely care about the success of our dog and that means so much to us! Highly recommend them.
Had the privilege of meeting Tyler and attended his Sydney workshop when he was out here in Australia. Tyler has an incredible dog mind with such a thoughtful approach. His communication and presentation skills are amazing. I love that he questions everything and his passion for the betterment of dogs flows through the amount of reading he does. Updating our knowledge is an integral part of being a dog trainer, and Tyler is a true testament of this. I hope to get over to Buffalo some day to check out the amazing K9 Connection. Keep up the good work, your videos and posts are so inspirational.
I walked into K9 connection 6 weeks ago with a very stubborn, active Goldendoodle. I kept an open mind, hoping they could help me train my dog. I heard so much about them, I knew they could help me. From the minute I walked in and was greeted by JoAnne, who is so friendly and fun to talk to. My trainer and hero Katherine, everything about my experience has been outstanding. Katherine listened to my concerns and addressed them, fixed them and made sure I knew what I was doing and why I was doing it. My dog is a new dog!!! I can walk her down the street, no pulling, no chasing leaves or dogs! My family and friends can walk in my house without a big dog jumping on them. Rose, (my goldendoodle) will place until I tell her she can break . My grandchildren can come over and play with her and not fear she will jump on them. When I see other dog owners walking their dogs, and they see how well behaved my dog is, they ask me if I train dogs! I only have one lesson left and I m sad that my time with K9 connection is over. Everyone there is fantastic. Barb, the other trainer is friendly and also very helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler for a moment, he is friendly and easy to talk to. Katherines firm commitment to excellence is outstanding. After each lesson, Katherine emails me a brief overview on what we worked on. If I have any questions before my next class she responds quickly to my questions. K9 connection is a first class dog training company. I highly recommend it!
When we first adopted our German shepherd mix Charley, he was a happy go lucky dog who loved everyone, dogs included. A couple of months later came the sudden nasty surprise: dog reactivity. Suddenly, within a matter of a couple of weeks, all strange dogs became a mortal enemy. We couldnt pass a dog across the street without severe lunging, barking, and high arousal for the rest of the walk. Instead of a fun bonding experience, walks became a necessary burden. All of our dreams of sharing our life with our dog - neighborhood walks, going to the farmers market, off-leash time, etc., seemed dead in the water. We read books and tried a positive-only approach (mostly counter-conditioning with treats), but at best this managed the issue.By the time we found K9 Connection, we were ready and receptive to a different approach. I watched many of their videos and realized that 1) They actually specialize in helping dogs with our kind of behavior issues and 2) that the tools and techniques that I had previously dismissed as heavy-handed or even cruel (prong collar, e-collar), can actually be subtle and humane when used correctly. We signed up for 6 private lessons and were lucky to be assigned to trainer Dave, who was excellent. Dave introduced us to the prong collar, answered all of our questions, and sent us home hopeful for the first time in months. By the second or third lesson, Charley was passing training dogs on the street without blowing up, something I thought might take months to achieve. Most important, we were making this progress without a lot of force or leash corrections. In fact, when Dave and owner Tyler (who was present for some of the sessions) saw that Charley tends to re-direct onto the handler after a prong collar correction in an aroused state, they quickly suggested we ease off the prong and try training with an e-collar instead. This was excellent advice and we started seeing a lot of progress with a combination of leash work, low level e-collar (level ~5 out of 100) and food rewards. After the 6 private lessons, we were allowed to take Charley to group class, which was another thing I didnt think wed be able to do. These classes with Alex, another trainer I cant recommend enough, have been invaluable in continuing Charleys progress in being calm and obedient around other dogs.In short, if youre having behavior issues with your dog, or just want a more balanced life with your dog, I recommend K9 Connection without reservation. Yes, its not the cheapest place around, but I dont regret spending the money for a second. And the value is there to see. At one point, in a 1-hour class, we were setting up real-world scenarios out in the neighborhood with Charley and 3-4 different training dogs handled by multiple trainers. Very professionally done and effective.I think every dog deserves good training, and the staff here love dogs and know what theyre doing. Im more bonded with Charley than ever before, hes calmer and happier than ever before, and last weekend, instead of staying home, he came with us to the farmers market for the very first time.
I attended 3 day workshop Master the remote collar with Tyler this past weekend. The workshop is phenomenal. Tyler explains complex concepts with unbelievable clarity using plenty of examples. He offers insights into animal behavior and learning. Obviously fantastic at what he is doing, he is also an outstanding teacher. And his sense of humor is a cherry on top!Needless to say, you and your dog will be in more than capable hands, learn (yes both you and your dog :)) and have fun while doing it!!!Ava
K9 Connection gave us our lives back. They taught our 2 rescue dogs how to behave while also teaching us how to be the best owners possible. They follow through with any and all questions and always return calls. Our dogs failed out of obedience school, were rejected from day cares and we felt absolutely hopeless. K9 sees the potential in all dogs and helps you and your dogs succeed. They are super expensive but honestly worth every penny. I only trust my dogs to the best and K9 is the best in Buffalo.
Tylers crew and our trainer Sami were amazing with our German Shepherd, Roxy. We got immediately applicable strategies to try and things to curb her bad manners on leash. Theyre not opposed to tools like the E collar or prong collars. And thats a good thing! You want your trainer to be open to proven tools. Not everyone can solve every dogs problems with positive reinforcement only. This contrasts to some popular YouTubers who never seem to have a potential bigger scary dog featured in their videos. Highly recommended if you want to teach your dog to be the best they can be and strengthen your bond with your best bud.
K9 connection is an answer to prayer! My husband and I adopted a rescue dog, Otto, who we thought had a calm, relaxed demeanor, but after 3 weeks, he suddenly flicked a switch into a fear aggressive monster. He had bitten several of our friends and had some heart-pounding near disasters with children. We immediately signed Otto up for private lessons at another local training center, but nothing changed. We were saddened by our results, but knew there had to be something better....and there is! K9 Connection! Using their techniques, Otto has become a confident, obedient dog and we are amazed by the results! Now we are able to invite people over, go to new places, and take more adventures together. Otto is a happier dog! My advice: sign-up, do what they say, do the homework, and dont give up on your dog! Your dog deserves a better life! P.s. Ask for Dave as a trainer, too! He was easy to talk to, answered all of our questions, and is passionate about his job.
I rescued my now 3.5 year old lab/pit mix (Bennett) when he was 6 months old. He has always been skittish around larger men and had bad separation anxiety. The past 2 years, I began to notice that he only listened when we wanted to and was becoming more and more aggressive towards other dogs, people, and loud noises (lawn mowers, school buses, sirens, etc,.). I had to stop taking him to dog parks (too many dog fights), I couldnt take him for walks by myself anymore due to the pulling, lunging and barking, and it got to a point where my boyfriend couldnt even stand to walk him. After months of searching for the right dog trainer, we decided to give K9 Connection a shot since they always seemed to come up as the #1 dog trainer in Buffalo and apparently even internationally.Going into it, I didnt think anyone was going to be able to fix Bennetts aggression/disobedience/terrible walking habits. Barb ended up being our private trainer once a week for 6 weeks and my dogs behavior changed drastically after only 2 training lessons - I couldnt believe it! He began to trust me, listen to commands, walk like a well-trained dog, and he calmed down significantly... people can actually walk into my house now without feeling like theyre going to get attacked! He also absolutely fell in love with spending an hour with Barb on Thursdays.Barb was very attentive, understanding, and beyond helpful. She was always more than willing to explain or demonstrate things as many times as I asked and was always very blunt/honest with me. She was exactly what we needed. It only took SIX private training lessons for Bennett to become the dog I never thought he could be.Having Barb train Bennett was well worth the money and Id do it all over again if I needed to. I cant believe I ever doubted K9 Connection!See for yourself... heres a picture of Bennett actually SITTING like a good boy at the vet as opposed to whining, barking, and running around like the crazy man he used to be!
I highly highly highly recommend Tyler and his team if you need training with your dog. When we adopted our rescue, she was awful on the leash - pulling, screaming (yes, legit screaming) when she saw another dog and not listening at all. She was also extremely protective and terrible when people would enter our house. After weekly training sessions with Tyler, we have a totally different dog. I actually enjoy walking her now and Im pretty sure she is the unofficial mascot of Elmwood Village now. She listens to us now vs just doing whatever she wants. And we dont have to worry when people are coming over to our house since we now have the tools to manage our dog. If you are also willing to put the work in, K9 Connection can really change your relationship with your dog and make your life with them enjoyable - and manageable!
If youre like me and think that $4k (for a board & train) is an insane amount of money to spend on training your dog, you might want to instead consider it an investment in your mental health. I was worried this wouldnt benefit Harley because she is 5.5 years old and has been leash aggressive (and off-leash intense) for over 3 years, but I could see a difference in her demeanor after just the first week. I feel so confident walking her around the neighborhood and the staff at K9 connection helped me realize that she just needs some structure to be a really well behaved dog. You have to do what they tell you, and continue the structure they put in place forever after the board & train, but if you do it youll likely see a dramatic change in your dogs behavior. We are continuing Harleys socialization through day training at K9 Connection, which is a great opportunity if youre in the Buffalo area. In the end I am happy to have spent as much money as I did/continue to, as its allowed me to breathe easily for the first time in years; and Harley benefits tremendously from the structure (and exercise, now that I feel I can walk her anywhere!) in her life.
Just completed a 5 day seminar with Tyler and couldn’t be happier with the experience we had. He took his time with every attendee, answering questions thoroughly and backed by science, provided training tips and tricks I never had thought of and his entire staff was welcoming and made sure that we all had a great time. I have been following Tyler’s methods via YouTube for quite some time and happy to finally work with him in person. The people in Buffalo are lucky to have the entire K9 Connection staff as their go to training center. They will change the relationship you have with your dog for the better!
I searched all over the east coast to find the best facility to help rehab my rescue Theo after we had been attacked. I found this place was the best option after a lot of research. Despite the fact I live in MA I choose them & did the 3 week Bootcamp. It was EVERYTHING I HAD HOPED FOR AND MORE!! They were fabulous! Theo came out a new calmer happier dog and they taught me the skills I needed to maintain the training back home in MA.I know from experience how loving & devoted they are to helping you & your dog live your best lives together. I 100% highly recommend them
After adopting my 2 year old pitbull Ernie, I was in for quite a handful. He came to me mannerless, and with 2 years of life under already his belt doing whatever he wanted. We went through the family companion, he was very reluctant to listen still after it. So I tried k9 connection- 3 private lessons with Amber and 3 months of group lessons. Ernie began listening to me more and more each week. Now, I feel comfortable inviting people over to my house and dont feel embarrassed having an out of control dog anymore. I feel comfortable walking him all over with me. People have actually complimented me on what a great walker he is when were out. K9 connection is a gift for people with troublesome dogs... I used to cry because of how hopeless I felt with my dog. Now we spend all of our days together, and I get excited to wake up in the morning and be with him. Ive also done Advanced Pack socialization with them for him to get more accustomed to smaller dogs and have been so pleased. We took him to a family party and he had no interest in little dogs, after just 3 sessions. If you are ever struggling PLEASE please see this facility. They can help you!
We adopted a little boxer, banjo!, who was a stray at one time and was still an almost grown puppy. he had mild fear aggression towards dogs and people told us about k9 connection right in our neighborhood. we went for an evaluation and did the 3 private lessons and 3 months of group classes and are extremely pleased at the end of it all. this is not our first dog and we have trained the others to the point of good enough on our own and would have been happy with a decent dog who we could bring confidently around other dogs. what we got was 10 times what i expected. we now have a confident dog who is very obedient on the leash for us or for others to walk him. we also have a dog who can be happily around other dogs due to the great work of the socialization program and is now polishing his social skills in daycare and all of it happened much faster than we anticipated by teaching us humans the right way to train him and understand him. 3 cheers.
The staff at K9 have been wonderful. Board & Train with Jay, in addition to weekly enrichment, has really made a difference for Siggy, a smooth collie my partner and I adopted a year ago. They all helped us better understand the needs of our dog and help provide a time for her to socialize in a safe environment.
This is our favorite place in the world! Not only does our dog Solar love daycare , she just completed her in board 4 week obedience training and we have to say we were shocked & amazed. We never thought Solar could be so well behaved with such polite manners and listening skills. K9 connection did an amazing job with her we cant thank them enough. When we came to see Solar for the first time in 30 days , Barb ( one of the trainers ) brought her in and it was incredible. Seriously we didnt recognize our dog. It was perfection. Barb also took the time to train us in great detail about everything Solar has learned so we can continue to use those tools in our home . So far things have been great , but Im glad we were well trained ourselves. Barb and everyone else made sure we understood that you must continue to be consistent with Solar and continue as they have with her at training. We are glad they made us aware of this because after all Solars hard work and the trainers you dont want to throw that away . We practice all her commands throughout the day , she is doing amazing , very small slip ups which is normal for being back home in the old environment where she did what she wanted. Simple corrections and she listens right away. Solar actually volunteers and sits or lays on her place mat throughout the day . Whats even more impressive is that when I allow her to break for a little bit she comes close to me and lays down beside me all on her own. But overall the walks are my favorite. Every walk use to be so stressful , she always pulled , never listened , chased birds and squirrels . Now nothing ! Its the best walks Ive ever had my entire life with a dog ! So I really cant thank them enough . This is worth every last dollar , you will not regret doing any type of training here. They know what they are doing , they truly care about the dogs & customers and overall Id rate this experience a 10 if there were more stars to give . We are so excited to learn and grow with solar and we know she is going to grow into such a beautiful , wonderful obedient girl. For 81/2 months shes doing awesome !!!I do want to add that when I had some questions about Solar they got back to me right away , and the owner Tyler was the one to call and help me through any questions or concerns I had. I highly recommend K9 connections . They are the best !
In June Roxy & Ernie wrapped up their 6 months of group training at K9 Connection. I am so incredibly happy we took the time and spent the money going to K9 Connection because we have seen AMAZING results. Over the past year I have had oh-so-many people tell me how well-behaved my dogs are and so many of our friends that new them before have said they have become different dogs. My parents constantly proclaim how calm Roxy has become and how much more confident she seems and she NEVER barks at the back fence like she used to. She has become a calmer and self-secure dog.Our lives and relationships with our pups have become so much more fulfilling and less stressful thanks to the skills and techniques we have all learned by going to K9 Connection. Words cannot express how much I appreciate what they do there. I will continue to sing their praises forever and bring any dog in my care to them for training. As well as making sure everyone knows how whole-heartdtly I recommend them.Funny enough, I will miss going to group class. We will certainly be back if the need ever arises! All in all the past 6 months we have all learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you so much K9 Connection...Tyler, Josh, Amber, Myles and the rest of the crew. We honestly and truly appreciate everything you do.
K9 Connection helped our nearly 5 year old Golden Retriever and us overcome his anxious, fear reactive, grieving behaviors and our own fears of aggressive dogs. Loren Danaher was the perfect trainer for Griffin’s concerns. She was very calm and steady with him and he responded very positively to her direction. By the end of the first week, she solved the issue of him not wanting to get out of the car, to come reliably when called and to stay in Place (we learned this but never truly understood the immense benefits of utilizing this command). We sent her videos of problems we had during our weekend times together and she would respond back how we should approach the problem — corrections we needed to make so he would respond the way we wanted. She also could see what issues she needed to work on for the next week of training. She literally sat in the bathroom with the fan on and walked him by a building with a noisy outside A/C for a week to help desensitize him to the noise our A/C units made. What a relief as the week he came home after training, the temperatures were in the 90s and we could use our A/C without him freaking out!During our end of week training session, Loren showed us what Griffin learned and then taught us how to procure the same response she could get from him. She gently pointed our learning opportunities and how we may be sending him mixed/confusing messages.Loren continued to be responsive to e-mails and questions during weekends and the months following his completion of the program. We followed their post-training instructions exactly and I highly recommend everyone who invested their resources in training to do so. Griffin was, as many reviews say, a “different” or “well-behaved dog” after he got home. However, we were prone to making the same mistakes that reinforced his problem areas in the first place. The two month protocol was important to keep his training and ours reinforced. When we strayed from the instructions, we knew it immediately, because he responded to reverting to our old ways of being with him with his old undesirable behaviors. Not his fault—he is looking for his cues on how to behave from us. When he starts to relapse to undesirable behaviors, we know that the first thing we have to do is check our own behavior.Extra Kudos to Meghan who responded quickly to all communications with her and provided much needed reassurance that K9 Connections would be able to help us when no one else seemed to think it possible.Six months later:*He has a reliable recall—we can even have him off lead and on his remote collar only in safe locations.*We can use A/C without him freaking out.*We can use the stove/oven and he will come in the kitchen or not retreat to the farthest corner of the house.*He still notices new things and with simple encouragement he will “check it out” vs run from it or refuse to pass it.*He doesn’t lunge at other dogs. If they are approaching him when they are out of control, he will react but we recognize this is normal behavior for a dog under these circumstances.Loren taught us that we are protecting our dog when we cross a street or avoid the poor behavior of other dogs.
We have been fortunate over the last 2 days to have Tyler Muto here in Melbourne Australia. Amazing in his knowledge and kindness with both human and dog. I have also had the pleasure in the past to meet a number of his amazing staff who work hard to ensure the best ourcomes in relation to our partnership with our dogs. Well done K9 Connection.
I took my dog, Rocky, to K-9 Connection in Buffalo for their board and Train. Our trainer was Adrianne DiBrog, she is amazing. My dog bonded with her almost immediately, which made my stress level of leaving my dog decrease immensely. My husband and I are so pleased at how she was teaching Rocky, more than I could have begun to do on my own. Adrianne is very knowledgeable about all aspects of feeding and training. He is doing so well on his new food, that Adrianne suggested...He loves it. Thank you, K-9 Connection, for lending Adrianne to us...best thing to happen for our Rocky...Sincerely Phil and Karen Liberatore
Been involved in local rescue for the past 8 years and K9Connection has been instrumental in helping ALL of my foster dogs become highly adoptable.i had been to 3 other local trainers (before discovering K9 Connection) who could not and some others would not help me with my first challenging foster dog. they either didnt know what to do for us, or just didnt want to be bothered with such issues we were having. after 6 months of sessions with those other trainers, my foster girl was still lunging at other dogs, and her high prey drive was escalating to a degree where it was dangerous to walk her. who would adopt such a dog?i was in total despair and was at a loss as i didnt know what else to do. thankfully, i didnt give up so i continued looking for help when i discovered tyler muto. not only did tyler and company take us on pro bono, but also within a few sessions, i had a highly adoptable girl whose adoptive mom says still gets compliments on her stellar training and behaviors. :)i could list so so many similar stories as this. through the years, i have personally witnessed K9 Connection helping to rehabilitate many many rescue and adopted dogs who would have faced euthanasia had they stayed with other trainers or not had any training at all.if you are looking for a top notch professional training facility where you WILL get the results youre looking for, then you should definitely check out K9 Connection.
Awesome place! When they explain your dogs behavior to you and the reason for it, it makes so much sense. Was completely satisfied and have referred many other families to K9 Connection who are just has happy as I am.
Easily the best place in buffalo 🐃 to have your dog 🐕 trained. I want to highlight that they also now sell CBD products for both humans and their pets! Compared to other CBD spots in buffalo its very reasonably priced. This is the only place I buy it, and I dont even own a dog!
Best place to connect with your canine. So glad we found them. They taught us just as much as they taught our rescue dog. The staff is wonderful and will answers all your questions. We recommend them all the time to our dog park friends.
So far Mac has only had a tiny bit of training and was evaluated for aggression.. I already love this place and Tyler! The way he handles my dog when I was scared s***less was amazing. Im going to sign him up for boot camp there and I can’t wait to add to this!
We had (and are still having) a wonderful time with everyone at K9! Our dog LOVES to go there once a week and we couldn’t be happier.
Tyler Muto is amazing, if only we lived in the USA.I just attended a Tyler Muto seminar in Melbourne Australia - Mind blowing. If you have a dog & want to enjoy life with your dog, you cant go past this place.
Im sure this place is good but their customer service is horrible, its as if they are doing you a favor to take your money which is not cheap by the way. I called numerous times and when we were unable to make contact left a call back time. I e mailed them and faxed them and no reply. I filled out their form on line no contact. Obviously this place must be doing so well that they do not have to be responsive but a word of caution to them treat potential customers this way and word gets around also you may currently have the best game in town but nothing lasts forever, some day more competition will force you to change your ways, until then the hellI was very hasty with my previous review, I guess Im too much inpatient. The whole staff if very experienced and the owner Tyler is the most the most profession and informed dog trainer I have met and I met a few and none could handle my dog, he is our local Ceaser Milan and maybe even better,
There is nothing bad I can say about this place. They are amazing. Even in the short time I have been working with them I am already seeing a HUGE improvement in my dogs! I cant thank them enough for their help!
I brought my reactive 4 year old GSD for a 4 week board and train at K9 Connection. The scheduling process was made quick and easy. I had the pleasure of working with Kim Kocul, my dogs trainer on fixing the behaviors we were struggling with at home. Kim was VERY helpful with explaining everything she was working on and giving me direction during the lessons at the end of of the week. I would recommend their services to anyone.
Hi Tyler and Barb,I know its only been a few days since Ive brought Wally home but I am completely over the moon with happiness already. Hes truly a different dog. Everything about him, including the look in his eyes, has changed. He seems so much more relaxed and truly happy.Ive taken him on quite a few structured walks already and every time we put his leash on and step out the door, Im more and more amazed. I cant believe we can walk for 30 minutes straight with him directly by my side. Today we passed by a male boxer who didnt seem too happy when he saw Wally. He was lunging and barking. I gave Wally some more space away from the other dog and he didnt even flinch. He just continued walking directly by my side and didnt break the heel. I was so very proud of him and it feels so great to be able to have a nice, pleasant walk down the street instead of being dragged in a million directions.Hes been absolutely wonderful in the house too. Were both getting adjusted to the new structure and, to be honest, I think its a bit harder on me than it is for him. Im so used to giving him free rein of the house that its more of an adjustment for me than for him. Hes more than happy to place in his dog bed or go hang out in his crate. Im the one that needs to provide the continuous structure and thats exactly what Im going to do! Weve been working on obedience multiple times throughout the day and whenever I have him in a down or place command, he will stay exactly where he is. Even if its for an hour or more.I just wanted to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for helping get Wally where he is today. My expectations have been beyond exceeded and it feels so good to know that Wally is happier and not so wound up and anxious like he used to be. Ive cried a few times already since I brought him home out of sheer joy. I can absolutely see now how I was lacking in leadership and how he wanted and needed structure. Im so proud of him and Im excited about the start of our new life together. You guys are truly amazing and I will be forever grateful for helping us! Many, many thanks!
Absolutely the best. This is the 3rd dog I have had trained by K9 Connection and they have never disappointed me. I highly recommend them.
The extent of the knowledge from The K9 Connection has been immensely invaluable. Tyler is am incredible teacher and a true inspiration
They have not returned any of my requests for information about their $5500.00 training class I was inquiring about. I followed their instructions on how to contact them, ARE THEY REAL? maybe not, UPDATE... AFTER LEAVING THIS REVIEW I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM ASKING ABOUT MY INQUIRY, I REPLIED THAT I WENT ELSEWHERE AND THEIR SERVICES WERE NO LONGER NEEDED. AND THANKED THEM FOR CALLING ME.
Absolutely love K9 connection. I have done board and train now with two dogs. And came back in to hone in on some training with one of my dogs they give great guidance.
Very nice people, excellent wit dogs, put the time in for training and making sure these dogs get what they need, I highly recommend
Kim was an amazing trainer to work with. She is incredibly knowledgeable in her field and provided clear and effective expertise at every lesson for our reactive rescue dog. Lessons were fun and engaging for our dog and us! She created the perfect lessons and structure during sessions and targeted so many skills. She was prompt and communicative in sharing resources, videos, and feedback after lessons, and always had helpful answers to our questions. We have seen an amazing improvement in our dog over the 6 training sessions and feel confident as dog parents how to keep his progress going. We are so happy we chose K9 connections for our boy and will definitely be continuing!
I can’t say enough when I came here . I would highly recommend anyone of the trainers . I could go on and on just go so worth it for you and your pet !
Tracy was awesome with my 12 year old border collie! Highly recommend!!
Best people to deal with. My dog learning to obey commands
Best puppy day school ever. Staff is very competent and friendly. Very organized too.
Our German shepherd had anxiety issues and was very challenging to have a walk around the block. All I can say is that k9 connection changed my life and my dogs quality of life. If I had to spend my resources again to have my dog trained by k9 connection, I would not hesitate even for one second. Sometimes, professional help is needed, and k9 connection delivered and exceeded my expectations.
Great training and teaches the dog and owners. Parking is a bit of an issue at times but that comes with the location.
Great place to get your dog trained plus they have a nice newly paved lot to park in
I walked in there and they were very polite kind of informative but could have been more informative but they did direct me to their website to find out the prices
Awesome. The training classes really helped our dogs.
Best trainers. Sensitive to the dogs individual disposition
Im sure the staff is wonderful but the sarcasm of the lady at the front desk was not appreciated. We made one mistake training our puppy (removing his gentle leader on the way out) and she felt the need to remind us 3 other times. This had nothing to do with why our puppy was nipping at other dogs.
My relationship with my dog was so much better after going here. The team is great. Highly recommend.
As a trainer myself I am very much looking forward to learning from the expertise offered by K9 Connection and the advise for bettering my training and my dogs.
K9 Connection turned around our anxious Aussie. I attended the first private lesson a huge bundle of nerves myself, since I couldnt control Sheps barking, lunging, and biting at strange people and dogs. Amber took everything in stride and taught me how to relax and project more authority with him. Shep is not a very food- driven dog, so my attempts to train with treats had gone nowhere. K9 Connection is all about balanced training, so I learned how to use the e-collar to cut through his panic, and get him to look to us for guidance. Once I knew that I had his attention, I could implement training with treats as well as the collar. After 5 private lessons, one at the house, we attended months of group classes, where we practiced our skills. Most importantly, I have been able to keep this dog that I love, which I wasnt sure about 18 months ago. K9 Connection seems pricey, but what they did for Shep and our family would have been a bargain at twice the price. Furthermore, we didnt waste a bunch of money going through less expensive programs that give up more quickly on problem dogs. As youve probably guessed, I absolutely love this place!
These folks are really helpful and very accepting of both dogs and people.
Your dog would be lucky to get trained at this amazing training company
I recently attended Tyler’s shadow program in May at K9 Connection. Was one of the best weeks I’ve had in years. I’m very green in the dog world and this was my first big investment into my formal training to become a dog trainer and understand dog phycology. Tyler was with us from the moment we arrived in the morning till it was time to go home at night. We also had full access to the facility, watching his trainers classes, questions about anything on his business, even made friends with the employees... it was an emotional week as well, when dealing with dogs that this might be their last chance before the owners giving up and able to witness that listening to the dog and able to communicate properly was able to keep family’s together with their dogs... as a personal awaking for myself I realized that I still do have a fear of dogs, I spoke to Tyler about this and he said that’s absolutely ok, not every trainer needs to deal with aggressive dogs... however I think that was just the support I needed and by watching how he and his staff handled aggressive situations, when I just came across a situation myself just a week ago I found that I was able to handle it quickly, effectively and safely! This is just one of many things I am so grateful I was able to take away from this week up there.I am planning to attend his next seminar on ecollars... as a trainer in training I plan to keep studying as much as possible from Tyler.Thank you so much Tyler and K9 Connection staff! I’m looking forward to my next trip up and see everyone again!
Took my Bulldog to K9 connection for what we like to call refinement training...lol. If you know bullys you know they march to the beat of their own drum, well Tyler and his crew did an AWESOME job with my guy. I still reinforce his training and he does great, though he is still stubborn at times he will never stop being a bulldog. I cant thank K9 connection enough for what they taught my dog.Marge from Cheektowaga
Very knowledgeable trainers. I learned so much from Tyler and his staff.
It takes a lot to impress me, and I like what I see. Anybody in the Buffalo NY area that needs dog training I suggest K9 Connection. Dog Whisperer BIG CHUCK MCBRIDE.
