If I can give this place ZERO STARS I WILL , I’m Very Upset With This Place Yesterday My Mother Took My Dog Here to get Groomed & He Came back home rubbing his eyes I really didn’t pay much attention due to me thinking he was just irritated with the perfume or spray they put on him , so I was upstairs taking care of something’s & heard him none stop crying I went downstairs and when I checked him his eyes were red & left eye was shut closed full of wetness I tried to look in it & investigate what was wrong , my dog had a cut on his eyebrow & he couldn’t manage the pain , I called them to inform them that my dog had a cut on his eyebrow and why Wasnt I informed the Owner said she did not cut him he must have an allergic reaction I told her my dog don’t have no allergies and I can clearly see a cut she said she couldn’t do nothing about it & their not responsible . Today He Woke Up & His Eye is STILL SHUT ! 🔴 PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE 🔴 im Very Disappointed

Ok so i had a great experience with the groomer BUT, the man at the desk just pissed me off. I brought my daughter with me (who is half black ) to pick up my dog. The man opens the door, looks at her hair and says, “whoa what is that, and proceeds to tap her on her ponytail like she’s a dog”. I said “yea that’s her ponytail”. I feel horrible that i didn’t really tell him how i felt that that moment because my daughter is very uncomfortable right now because of that situation. So because of him l, i will not be coming back. Not sure if he was racist or never seen a black persons hair up close. But as an adult he should’ve known better. That was not right at all!

Let me tell you something. This is a no fuss, straight to the point spot and I absolutely love it. You call, they say when do you want to come in, they ask what dog do you have and what you want done. And that’s it, you come in, you drop off your pup, and they call you 15 minutes before they’re done. My pup is a nervous Nelly outside the house but he doesn’t get scared walking into here. Absolutely love this place and I recommend it to all my friends and family!

Jamie is amazing!!! My Dog Wednesday is not a big fan of grooming and gets easily scared of the sounds of the razor. Jamie was able to handle her and cut her exactly how I wanted. My mom goes here all the time for her cat so I decided to try it out for my pitbull. Super friendly staff, quick services, and amazing prices. My dog came out smelling amazing, super white, nice nails, and clean teeth. I will definitely be coming here from now on.

I wanted a light trim for my puppy. I specifically asked for my dog to not be shaved. They did the exact opposite. As soon as I picked him up, I didnt even get a chance to open my mouth before I was showed pictures of all his matting. If there was matting, I shouldve been contacted before any action was taken. His ears are short and choppy. His entire haircut is uneven. He smelled like the dogs in the shop, not at all like cologne or soap. Lastly, at no point did they mention that they were cash only. As a new customer, I shouldve been privy to this information. My husband was furious when he saw him. Never, ever, again. Before and after attached.

Great place and staff. Im satisfied with how the cut turns out. The staff takes my special accommodation requests seriously. For instance, one of my pups have weak joints and asked them to be very gentle when picking her up and handling her. Most groomers will just ignore and pick my pup by the underarms (which is dangerous for my pup), but the groomers here have been very gentle and accommodated my special request to pick her up/hold her by the torso instead. Took me a while to find a place that I feel comfortable dropping my pups off at.As an anxious, over-protective parent of 2 pups, I genuinely appreciate their service and can be at ease knowing they are handling my pups with genuine and gentle care.

We cant groom our kitty without being slashed to ribbons so we appreciate Barking Palace.The kitty doesnt get stressed, the cut is always satisfactory, and the price is right.

I’ve always had a very good experience at Barking Palace with my cats. One of my cats, Mimi won’t let me clip her nails and when I bring her to Barking Palace, the owner (Jamie?) is always friendly, sensitive to her needs, fast and she always takes care of her when I bring her in unannounced. I was just there today and as always, it was a quick and great experience. Her prices are fair too which makes it even better. I’d certainly recommend Barking Palace to others. 👍🏻

Always grateful for the barking Palace ! My dog Carmine always happy when I leave , and when I rescue my cat Leo I couldn’t clip his nails they always helped me and did a great job . I love this place .

Barking Palace. Warm and friendly owners, Reasonably priced and conveniently located. We are happy to have them as neighbors.We are very satisfied with the job they do with my big dog, who is lot to handle and has lots of hair as a big curly Bernedoodle. They were able to handle him when he had lots of mats, and Groomed him without hurting him and they didn’t charge us more.We plan on using their services for a long time to come and I recommend them to other doodle lovers. Hashtag my #Oliver loves them.

I called & asked to make an appointment for a light trim for my german shepherd I asked how much & what it in included & she said $50 & its a full package. Picked up my dog , all they did was give him a bath & cut his nails. Didn’t clean his ears & didn’t give him the trim which was the only thing I wanted. I should’ve assumed he wasn’t getting the trim because they messed up telling me the price, when the gentlemen at the counter asked his co-worker how much to charge me & she said “you told me to tell him $50” to the lady who i assume I was on the phone with yesterday when I made the appointment & specifically asked & only asked for a trim . But they did condition him so he does smell good .

Best groomer on the island by far!!! Weve been going to Barking Palace for at least 12 years now, and we could not be happier. One of our pups is 16 years old, blind, and nervous, yet shes always had a great experience at Barking Palace. They are attentive, caring, and efficient, and we will never go anywhere else with our pups!

Jamie at the Barking Palace is absolutely incredible. She has gone above and beyond for my beloved animals, my friends’ animals, and even for rescues in need of extensive care. She has helped provide both pet sitting, grooming, and assistance even when I call her last minute. She is so accommodating and provides so much love and care to my animals that I can rest assured that they will be cared for as well as I care for them. She is the best in dog grooming as well. My dogs looked the best they ever have after she groomed them so beautifully. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to the Barking Palace for all that they do and have done for my pets. I think here is a good place for dogs, but in my opinion, its not good for cats.I asked them to shave my cat they did but not good. It was not even. Some places were ugly and didnt wash normally. Overall i wish them good luck.

Just picked up my Cavapoo and they BUTCHERED him. The bare minimum was done. His cut is SO incredibly choppy that even when I do it at home it looks better. And he shed when he got in the car like they never brushed him after his cut. I’m upset that I tipped them. And for $60 it’s a rip off. It’s about a $15 job if you were getting a friend to come to your house and groom your dog. The inside of his ears were not touched. His eyes were not fully cleaned- still has removable eye buggers. His paw pads were barely cut (I will go back and cut it down so he doesn’t get an infection).Update: we called them to let them know our concerns and dissatisfaction and Jamie was very willing to have him come back in the same day. We brought him right back and they fixed his ears. They look MUCH better. His cut was still choppy. I just think they don’t have very much experience with grooming poodles. I think other dogs with short hair would be better. But he again came out with so much hair falling off him (and he doesn’t shed normally).All in all, we won’t be going back but we really do appreciate the customer service and them being willing to address our concerns the same day.

After a bad experience at another groomer, I decided to give Barking Palace a try. My dog, Maddie, is very anxious and has medical issues. I explained the situation to the groomer, and she could not have been more accommodating. She was so gentle and kind to my dog. She gave her the exact haircut I asked for, and my dog seemed happy to be there. I would highly recommend this groomer, and we will definitely be going back!!

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a grooming business. I brought in my two yorkies for a normal grooming, and when I picked them up they had the choppiest, most uneven cut I’ve ever seen on them. Their nails were done unevenly, and they still had crust in their eyes. I still left a nice tip, and when I got home I called and voiced my concerns, only to be met with a callous and unapologetic tone from the groomer, Jamie (or Jaime). I had already decided not to bring my puppies back, because she clearly doesn’t care.

Ive been using Barking Palace since they opened!! Very professional and my dogs love it!! She knows exactly how i want my fur babies cut and scheduling appts is a breeze. Prompt service, prices are reasonable and they deal with my anxious babies so well. Love their cage free policy. So the dogs are all social. Highly recommend them!!

My 2 boys love everyone at Barking Palace. Even on their walks they pull us to cross the street to go there! Having had an Old English Sheepdog and now my current Great Pyrenees mix and a Golden Doodle, the grooming done is spectacular! Amazingly priced as well as the best cuts we ever had. We will never go anywhere else!

I have a Dalmatian and she doesn’t like to get wet and she gave them no problems here. When I picked her up she looked so happy and I love how good the grooming came out. The price was definitely affordable and I will definitely be coming back routinely.

We love Barking Palace ! I found Jaimie 10 years ago when she just opened and after my previous dog came from a groomer who had him so nervous that medication was recommended. (Btw ; that place is now out of business) Jaime’s open pen policy allows your dog to have their space and not stuck in a cage freaking out . After my dog passed away, I felt so strongly to go to Barking Palace and visit Jaimie where my Dewey used to just stroll in the door for his scheduled grooming . It made me happy and brought me some closure to share Deweys memories with Jaimie . I knew Jaime and Dewey had a bond .I now have 3 dogs who consistently visit Jaimie for their routine grooming’s. We are always excited to pick them up and check out their new haircut. Not only are their grooming’s perfect every time but smelling and looking fresh. We love to watch them strut in the front door to show off their new haircuts to everyone in the house . Jaimie is extremely efficient and affordable.I live in Sunset Hill, Jaimie’s salon is conveniently located on Forest Ave so walking or driving is always an option for us . Jaimie and her hard working staff are so compassionate with all the animals who come to visit . We love Barking Palace and I continue to recommend this establishment.

I took my jack Russell to them and when i picked her up that they said she was ready her hair wasn’t cut, her nails where left the same, they didn’t touch her at all. Then they have the Audacity to catch an attitude with me. I should’ve known better because when i called to make the appointment the guy was rude and even made a slick comment just because i needed an afternoon appointment. NEVER again.

My dog unfortunately got skunked and Jaime answered on her day off just to help us out! He now smells so much better and is much happier! This place is the best and everyone in there is incredibly nice. We’ll never go anywhere else!

Love them... my giant puppy with very long hair always looks great. Very reasonable prices and everyone who works there is sweet, prompt and helpful. I leave him there knowing hes well taken care of.

I have been going to BP since it opened. Besides providing fast efficient services, my dog runs in there happily so I know they treat her well too. Jamie will always go above and beyond to make Lula look (and smell) great! Highly recommend them to everyone.

Great to find a pet grooming salon who will take care of cats. From the first moment we brought our Maine Coon at for a shampoo and blow dry, Jaime took charge of the cat and he had a good experience. Jaime is very knowledgeable and inspires confidence. Hes been back a couple of times more and will be in the future. The Barking Palace salon is adorable. Its nice to be able to drop off the cat for a spa hour or so and go across the street for coffee. He always smells yummy after hair and nails are done. Its been a good experience and we already recommended BP to another cat we know with good feedback from their experience. We wish BP continued success.

My dog Marchello has been going to The Barking Palace since he was old enough to be groomed. They do an amazing job and they take excellent care of my dog! I have had other dogs and have been to other groomers on Staten Island but nothing beats The Barking Palace. Marchello loves Jamie and her staff and so does my family!

Ive been using Barking Palace for years. They are reasonably priced, offer a good value, provide a personalized touch, and love the animals. My 8 year old Bassett Hound thinks of it as his second home. When were walking there for his monthly grooming, I can take him off leash when we get close. He always makes a mad dash for the store entrance. Thank you Barking Palace.

This place is very nice. I had recently adopted a new bombay kitten who was infested with fleas and smelt horrible. I got the flea situation under control. Next was for the poor guy to get cleaned up. I called this place up and the same day they were able to give my new baby a bath. I gave them the heads up he recently had fleas just incase they saw any dead ones on him and they were still more than happy and willing to bathe him. I dont remember the ladies name but I assume she was the owner.. very nice people! Definitely coming back here whenever my babe needs a bath 😊

I’ve been bringing my papillon, Chloe, to Barking palace since around the time they opened. She is very skittish but is comfortable going here and always comes back smelling fresh and looking like a million bucks! I also leave Chloe with Jamie (the owner) when I go on vacation and she is always accommodating even when it’s last minute : )I always recommend Barking palace to my friends - you can’t ask for a better place to groom or board your pet!

Patient and friendly staff. Ive had issues with Pet Smart staff as I find many are lazy and impatient. The ladies at Barking Palace are always willing to work with you despite any fears or concerns. I have a very hyperactive Yorkie and it was a piece of cake for them to give him a full groom. He always comes out super excited and wagging his tail. Couldnt be more pleased with their service.

We took our Scottish terrier to this place today. The owner was shown the pictures with a classic cut. She was asked to do the same cut. The dog came out with ears from a donkey, the tail from a rat, too short a skirt on the sides, bald buttocks, almost bare legs. The famous eyebrows are almost gone. Nails were not filed at all. I want to cry looking at my dog. Beware!

Im a nut when it comes to my dogs they never leave my sight and this is the onlyyyyy place I will take them ! Amy is so great to them and they always leave smelling amazing with the cutest little bandannas on ! Barking palace is clean , professional , and treat your pets like their own. My dog got loose from his harness on forest avenue when going there and Amy even ran out into the street to help me grab him !

I love coming to Barking Palace! The dogs do not stay in cages so they get to roam a bit! Ive never had an issue and Ive also boarded my baby there too! The price is good too... 😊

They took care of my dog Maggie Moo who whines a lot and has separation anxiety. She is a rescued dog and was in a hoarding situation in Whiteville. Ky with 53 other dogs and a cat. Since then (5 years ago) shes gotten better but still cries a lot when she cannot see us or gets out of the house. Maggie got out the Barking Palace smelling like a princess. They did a really good job.

I love this place . My dog comes back extremely clean and , well groomed . I love all staff ! They are all extremely friendly. Plus my dog comes out happy and excited. I don’t have any negative feedback.

Barking Palace gave our puppy a haircut a few months ago and most recently a wash (and had his nails trimmed). We are very pleased and will go again.

This is a wonderful place! The pets are loved and well taken care of. The service is prompt, the dog is not sitting there for half a day, there are no cages. They play together or stay in privet cubicles. Thank you, Jamie.

When the owner grooms my 32lb cocapoo he always comes out looking and feeling great! His haircut lasts for upto a month. My dog also receives a new hankerchief after every wash

Had a wonderful experience here, and so did my pup! Friendly staff, they get the job done and done nicely! My dog that’s a German Shepard mix came out looking brand new and smelling amazing! (She still smells amazing and it’s been a week haha) I was so happy! I have had a negative experience with groomers before this place so was always weary about leaving my dog with a groomer (even had groomers say they couldn’t handle her). The staff here said she was a great dog! They also gave her the cutest bandana that was Halloween themed and treats in a Halloween goody bag! Overall I recommend this place :)

This place is 10 minutes from my home and my dog Dasher has been getting a groom here for about 2 years or so now. I never have any issues. I used to be nervous putting him in there with other dogs roaming freely but all the dogs energy are so nice and the staff so attentive that I am no longer nervous about it. I drop him and leave. He is always said to be well behaved, and they are very accommodating with scheduling. Sometimes I call day before for a Saturday appt and they still fit him in. The father is very nice to chat with if you get there a few minutes as they are finishing up. Price is reasonable.
