Shear Magic Dog Spa & Resort

Our Shiloh Shepherd has been going to Shear Magic for grooming, daycare and boarding for over 3 years. The staff is amazing with her, they’re always so helpful and welcoming. We know she is loved, happy and safe there, which is an amazing feeling- especially when away on vacations. We don’t know where we would be without Shear Magic and Kristen!

My boys Archie and Levi have been coming here for over a year now and I have to say, this place is phenomenal. We were very weary about ever putting our dogs in daycare/boarding until we heard about Shear Magic and how they treat the dogs. We decided to give them a shot and I am so happy we did. They are super accommodating, have been there through thick and thin for my boys, and offered so much advice to this first time dog mom. My boys would not be how they are today without Shear Magics help and I am so grateful for that! They get so excited when they know its a daycare day, they love Shear Magic too!I also have them groomed every 2 or so months and they always come back with the softest and fluffiest coats. Bonus that they can get groomed and go to daycare at the same time, so no waiting in a kennel!Ps. Had to include some of my favorite pictures from Shear Magic ❤️

We have been clients for a long time going back to the canine clubhouse days. We call for grooming, anything really, and it’s always an empty promise of a return call or a full voicemail box. It’s a nice facility and the groomers did well by us but the management of the facility is unfortunate.

Everyone here is so kind and caring. We do doggy daycare and have boarded our pup with them numerous times. Its a beautiful thing to leave your dog and know that theyll be safe, happy and well cared for. Highly recommend!

My pup contracted a virus while under their care. Unsanitary conditions and too many dogs at the same time to care for. Very disappointing.

My dog has been going to Shear Magic to be groomed for the past 3 years, since we got him as a puppy. I realized I didn’t receive a confirmation email the day before his appointment so I called to confirm that he had one, and was informed that the woman that normally grooms him left to work somewhere else and that they were sorry they didn’t call to inform me. Then I was told that the other groomers were all booked up and there wasn’t any room to fit my dog in at any time and told me I should take him somewhere else. This was very disappointing as I’ve been a customer there for 3 years and this was how I was treated.

Shear Magic did an AMAZING job on Maces tough German Shepherd coat. Price was very reasonable on the deluxe package, which includes nails, ears, pads, etc.

I understand that the groomer my dog went to isnt working there anymore. But its very unprofessional to tell me that information when my appointment is two weeks out. Ive been having scheduling problems here and the one time I book out 3 months I cant even take my dog. No hate they do a great job grooming just terrible scheduling.

Horrible! First time there and never again! The girl that was to groom our puppy left, and no one called and canceled or changed our appointment. Got there, and I was told I wasnt written down. I had a confirmation from them on my phone. I stood in the cold for 15 minutes and insisted I had no appointment. How would I know the girls name was Lauren! They said they could not accommodate me, and if I gave them my name and number, they would write me down for when they had room in their schedules. I waited for a month for that appointment and took time off to bring her there. Never a phone call back from them either! Thanks for ruining someones business purple hair!

Previous grooming facility cancelled last minute (upon our arrival...) and Shear Magic fit us in the next day! They were prompt with communications when their facility did not have water and they needed to cancel - things happen and we understand that. The fact that they communicated with us and gave us other options to reschedule ASAP was extremely satisfying. The staff is friendly and our pooch is no longer a hairy beast! She’s cute and clipped.Highly recommend their services!

I want to preface by saying every time we have been here the staff has been great. However, it is impossible to reach anyone for scheduling. Every time I call no one answers the phone, and despite both myself and my s/o leaving voicemails, no one returns our calls. The service is great in person, but the communication with scheduling is lacking. We will be having our dog groomed elsewhere from now on because it’s impossible to get a hold of anyone and our dog is long overdue for grooming services.

God forbid your 15 mins late. They cancel on you because it would throw their whole day off. You aren’t doing surgery, you’re grooming dogs.Edit to the owners response:instead of jamming pack your schedule, which if someone is late affects every other appt, you should incorporate a buffer so you don’t loose clients like myself.Profit margins < customer experienceBest of luck in the future.

The staff is so caring and responsible. I truly believe they care for each dog as if they are their own. The facility is clean and well maintained. Our Golden is so much better behaved after getting his energy out. First class operation!

I have now been bringing my 1.5 year old here for a few months, and for the past month 2x per week. Hes very wary of strangers and new dogs because he is a COVID pup, so I was very nervous to bring him somewhere like this and didnt know if they would allow him either. In the beginning, he was very nervous and would cower whenever they went to put him on the slip lead, but never had anything negative to say about him and they were always willing to ask the other employees to see how he did to let me know at the end of the day (even though it didnt change).Recently, Ive noticed a change in his demeanor when we arrive, and he heads right in now without even looking back for me! They let me know a couple weeks ago theyve been working with him, trying to help him be more confident & play with the other pups. I really notice a difference in him now, when we get home he passes out for the night and is even calmer the next day. Ive even noticed his behavior is getting better with new dogs! This is a thank you to everyone that works there. I couldnt be more thankful to see him enjoy his days there and evolve into a better pup and that is all thanks to the employees that work with them every day.This daycare is farther from me than other daycares, but after reading lots of reviews & now my own experiences there, I wouldnt even consider bringing him anywhere else.-Amos & Donna :)

Our pup absolutely loves going to daycare and being boarded at Shear Magic! The staff is awesome, they are accommodating, professional, and very kind. We are so grateful for this home away from home for our dog.

Kristen and Jeremy and the whole team went beyond and above when it came to caring for our puppy! Theyre facility is clean, filled with safe toys, and they are mindful of what size dogs are appropriate to play with each other. Weve also boarded with them and Jem (our puppy) had the time of his life! Kristen always shared photos and updates! They were more willing to accommodate us for minute daycare if work came up, and were there for us during the shut down. Were forever grateful to the Shear Magic for giving our pup Jem a wonderful place to spend his days while here in Syracuse. Well miss you and thank you so much!!!

They do such a nice job with my Golden Doodle. He looks great after every haircut. My lab goes for baths and nail trims too. They treat both dogs great!

Great place for day care and overnight for your dogs. The owners are present and friendly and know how to handle dogs. They keep them entertained and well cared for. Overnight is great with staff on-site with the dogs. Our pooches come home clean, happy, and tired.

Love this place. My dog always runs to the door to get to doggy daycare. They are lovely people and really love the dogs. He is always exhausted from all his playtime and he is a puppy. Thank you Shear Magic!

They told me the best way to schedule an appointment was by email. 3 different times I emailed them for an appointment and nothing. I also called several times and left messages. This magic dog spa obviously doesnt want the business so dont waste your time.

As a repeat customer I called to make an appointment for grooming and was put on a call log and was told I’d be called back. Never got a call back, so I called them to see where we stand. I was told that it could take up to two weeks for them to get through the entire call log. Why wouldn’t I be told that on my first initial phone call? When I told the gentleman on the phone that I might have to go somewhere else for grooming, he told me “OK that’s fine” and hung up. Clearly they don’t care about having us as a client. Will not be going back….

Disappointed to say that I had a poor experience as a first time customer, and will not be returning. Lack of communication, transparency, and care for customers is the best way to describe my experience. The most appalling part was their lack of care and compassion for the way they treated my mother. Unacceptable and will be reporting to the BBB.

Absolutely the best place in town! We immediately made another appointment for our dog. Very proffesional and excellent care taken. I cant thank you enough.

Wonderful we board and have bath and nails done. Also day care. They care about your pets and ours love to run and play.

Very friendly staff. My pups (very elderly) AOK after their grooming and not afraid to go in even though theyve been there before. The cuts are great as well as the nails, etc. Also, really appreciate their covid 19 precautions with them coming out to get your dogs and they are still masked even though outside.
