We love taking our doodle off the leash because she is friendly and well behaved. She had a blast running around the park with all the other dogs she met. We went on possibly the muddiest day of the year, after the snow had melted. It was a ton of fun and it wore her out, which was the plan.
It’s the most beautiful dog park I have ever visited. I been to the best dog parks in Colorado and this park has everything needed to keep the dog and owners happy. Couldn’t believe it’s in buffalo.Very clean and well maintained too! Highly recommend this.
This island is dog’s heaven. My pup loves it! We’ve met a lot of AMAZING people and their furry friends. But as always, there’s those people who doesn’t care and will bring their reactive, unfriendly dogs. They always ruin it for others. PLEASE! Do not bring your dog, knowing it doesn’t like other dogs. Especially, small 10lbs dogs like mine. Also, I’ve seen a lot of people walk their dogs on a leash. This is off leashes dog park. Keeping your dog in a leash will make him/her frustrated and it’ll lead to dog attacks and aggression. If you want your dog leashed, don’t bring them here. Take them to any other park.
Dogs run loose in an enormous area covered in mud. Any dog can do anything at any moment. My daschund hated the bridge over sickening water. He wanted to leave immediately. THAT has NEVER happened before. I was surprised at the amount of feces. Smaller fenced areas by dog weight would be safer for all.
Really nice Park, Ive been running my bernedoodle here since the start of the season. Shes a little thing but theres not too many dogs there that will be way too aggressive with her, every once in awhile there is a dog that seems a little bit more aggressive, but the owner knows that and they can take appropriate actions to deal with it. This place really relies on people being good to each other and for the most part people follow the rules which is good
Its one of my most favorite places! Its not your average dog park. The island is great for dogs who love to run or swim. Ive always had good experiences there and most people/dogs who go there are ones youd want to meet. Good owners!
Bark Park is a wonderful and secure place to walk our dog. 🐕Once you enter through the park fence, it’s your dogs time to have fun.🐶We frequently walk the dog inside and around the Perimeter of the island.During the summer there is an area where dogs can easily enter the water, to cool off.
First time at this fun place, also known as dog Island. After a lot of rain, it was quite muddy when we visited, alas! there is a double gate at the bridge entrance to prevent the puppers from escaping. that area was a bit smelly but the rest of the island was great And clean.. It’s nice and shady and there are places to sit. Will definitely be back on a sunny day.
This is a gem!! Dog island. My beagles love it here. They can run and play off leash and I don’t have to worry about losing them. ♥️
This dog park is absolutely gorgeous! Especially right now in the fall time. My dogs loved it so much. You can let them off leash if you don’t mind them getting wet and muddy from the river.
Really nice, large park. Busy but lots of parking and very clean and well maintained. Well shaded with large trees, historic architectural features, benches, and surrounded mostly by river.
Love it! Fun place for dogs to play and interact. We have only had positive experiences here so far! Also the dogs can go in the water and swim which is pretty cool :)
Love it here great place to let your dogs have fun off the leash along of places for the dogs to swim and run to their hearts content paved paths for you to walk on while you keep a eye on your dogs. Worth the trip you wont regret it.
My dogs and dog people love this place. Its a kid happy feeling place. Each and every dog is so wonderful and special. Love that they can all play together off lease. My pups sleep so well after I take them there.
Very active dog park, with plenty of room to run. Dogs can go down to the water and play as well. Cool place to walk around too, even if you dont have a dog.
I am visiting from Texas and had to make a point of bringing my dog here for a little fun and exercise. Its such a great place!
Unbelievable. Its the most beautiful dog park Ive ever been to. You dont need a pup to go, but if you do have one that gets along well with others, theyll be happy as ever. So much for them to check out. Fresh water fountain and bowls by the entrance.
Update Oct 2022: the playground has been taken out, theres nothing really left for kids. A lot of things are updated but it feels much less friendly and welcoming. Still a beautiful little island. They also added a rinse station near the entrance/exit.Coolest dog park Ive been too. On an island, little playground for kids, beach, some cool ruins... Everyone we met seemed friendly and most were ok with the kids/dogs interacting.
Wonderful place to take your dog. Fun for the pup and more enjoyable for you. The park like setting adds to the experience. I find most visitors to be friendly.
My dog loves this park. Ive been coming here for about 5 years now. Theres always improvements being made to make it a nicer park
Beautiful park! Ive been taking my dog here for years. Very shady with big beautiful trees and well kept gardens and a half mile path around the park. The park itself is an island with places for dogs to swim and the whole park is off leash. Also pavilions with grills and picking tables throughout the park.
Didnt even bring a dog but this place was awesome. Top paw 🐾! this place is dog and human heaven! Sweet trails, awesome structures, water front and tons of dogs to pet. Whats not to love honestly! Can even bring a date here for a little walk..
Fantastic hidden dog park with plenty of trails, dog beaches, trees, old park casino by beach has beautiful murals and stone work. Bathroom and dog water fountain on grounds too! We will be back!
Best dog park in the area! My dogs love this place, they beg me to take them every day. There’s so many nice dogs and people here, I 100% recommend this place!
The best, cleanest place to take your pup to run and play!! I love this island for everything it offers our pooch!! A place to play with tons of other dogs in such a beautiful but safely secluded location free of traffic! This park is so beautiful and our dog Rocko really missed coming to play at the Bark Park during Covid!! SO THANKFUL THE GATES ARE OPEN!
Best. Dog park. Ever.
This is my favorite local dog park! The scenery is beautiful, theres always birds chirping in the really tall trees. My pup and I enjoy all the various dogs and watching them play. Theres always a teeny tiny cutie chasing a big dog. The park is clean and the people are friendly.
AN ACTUAL PARK!!! Walk over a bridge to a small fenced in island that looks just like a people park but dogs can roam freely! There are water fountain dog bowls, picnic tables and pavillions, a playground and a lake. Beautifully kept and large. I go to a LOT of dog parks and this was the best. We didnt take a lot of pictures because we were having so much fun.
Great place to take the dog, and the kids. I love how it has shade I wish they would put more playground equipment in because my kids love to go and meet all of the new dogs. I think it would be really cool if they even just put the swings back next to the slide.. its really nice and a large area for the dogs to be off leash but also no one gets mad if u bring ur dog on the leash too. Because it is an island theres areas for the dogs to swim there are bathrooms and bc it used to be a park for people there are the shelters incase you want to have lunch or something there. Really great place its one of my kids favorite places to go bc of the shade and the new friends(dogs).
Great dog park! I love taking my dog here. Its a really nice well maintained park. I love the fact that you can bring your dog to: swim, run, walk, play, and there are things for the owners to do as well! There are play grounds, picnic benches, pavilions, bathrooms, drinking fountain, and a Tim Hortons across the parking lot! The park is also shaded and there are extra pool bags there!
Great place to let dogs be dogs. Large area with many trees and paths. We will need more time to fully explore the park.
The best dog park anywhere. The shower hoses at the gate with the leash stands are wonderful and the pressure and nozzles are terrific 👍. Great improvements to the shoreline!
One of my favorite places to take Barker Bob. They keep the park well maintained and seems to attract a lot of friendly dog owners. We just moved here from NYC and worried about socialization. This place has made the worry disappear.
We have taking our dogs here for several years. Its a great park! Everyone is very friendly! And, the doggos love it there!
Simply the best. Wide open for the dogs to run, closed off so they cant run away. Ambitious canines can swim across the the surrounding river(?) But I have seen that attempt few and far between. We love the bark park.
My dogs and I live this place. Very spacious and almost every dog os superbly behaved. My favorite dog park. Bonus if you kayak with your dog you can take a break here and launch with no issues.
Disney Land for your poochie! There are many dog stations with bags and trash cans. A wash station is at the gate so your pooch can be sprayed off before leaving the park. It’s an island so water access is everywhere, including a drop off and a zero entry beach. My dog ran and ran! What a great place!
We love the Bark Park. I have very active and athletic Hounds and they love running around the island.I have found most people to be courteous and responsible when visiting and the other dogs to be friendly. My dogs wear GPS collars when off-leash, and they often clock 2-3 miles of running whenever we visit, and plenty of squirrels to chase (dont worry, the squirrels have many escape routes!)
Best dog park in the USA . I’ve been to almost all of them in this fine country .. These dogs are lucky to be here .. I’ve been here for a couple of hrs and all dogs were great..
Love the Bark Park!I recently visited with my relatives who drove in from California! They were highly impressed with the park as well. Both of our dogs LOVE going to this park. It is always so clean and such a pretty place to go and walk around (with or without a dog).
May I suggest, Wonderful?! Beautiful day. Not too busy, but enough activity to allow our four legged family members to meet and greet. Very pleasant. Very enjoyable.
This is the best dog park around! Its island so theres no fear of your dog jumping a fence if you have one of those types of dog-os. Lots of regulars so eventual youll learn the names of other people dogs too. Just make sure your dog is friendly and plays well with others
This is hands down, the best park in the area. We drove nearly half an hour to take our dogs here, because it’s well worth the time. Off leash walking is usually nerve wracking since the dogs could just bolt and never be seen again, not here! It’s an island with only one way in, and one way out.People are friendly, dogs are friendly and entertaining, and the grounds are well kept. Watering and washing station near the exit is usually needed, especially after a good rain, as the park gets muddy and the creek water isn’t exactly a nice perfume on a dog.And shade! It’s really nice to have a walk that’s completely shaded the entire time.
Weve been twice and we love it! Its a perfect shady place to walk on these hot summer days! And if your pup is a swimmer its even better!
The best dog park Ive ever seen! I bring my pittie here everyday, has to be her favorite place ever.. we both love coming here
I love this park. Rosie and I have been coming here ever since she was a puppy. She is a well socialized dog because of this place. Highly recommend coming here
This place is great! Its a whole damn island!!!!!!!! They can go co.pmetely bananas and still be safe from any kind of roadway, unless they cross the creek. They can swim, run, theres a wash off station. We met lots of friendly people and friendly dogs, we had a great time! Was very busy in one of the last nice days of fall, about 40 dogs in the park!!! The island is quite large, took us about an hour to take our time and slowly mosey around the waters edge and meet lots of dogs along the way. There is no separate yard or area I noticed for small dogs, but it was getting dark and my first time there, there may be one and I didnt see it. Large parking lot, easy to find, looked like there were restrooms in site as well. What a wonderful place!
This park keeps getting better and better! Renovations going on are pretty good. They could use some benches closer to the water where the dogs go in to fetch balls or sticks. Saw 3 different huge piles of poop rotten dog owners neglected to pick up, one I knew about after I stepped in it! Luckily there is a water station to rinse off dogs, or dog poop on shoes! And where dogs can get a drink of fresh water. People that go there are mostly a nice sort and usually keep eyes on their dog, some dont so you must keep watch. A few sadly keep their dog leashed at this off-leash park. Seems cruel, dog is visably quite unhappy. Hard to watch. Theres a Little Library there that could use more childrens books, hint hint to those who may have some 😀
Loved this park when I was a kid, & absolutely love that much more with it being a place I can bring my four legged friend & let him off the leash.
My wife and I have been bringing our dog here for 6 years and we have a blast every time. The atmosphere is great and its the perfect size to feel surrounded by nature with enough length to stroll. The other people are friendly and the dogs generally get along perfectly. Worth using some caution after it rains if you dont want your dog to get muddy.
What an outstanding park!! So many beautiful, well-behaved doggies just having a great time!! The doggies owners are just as awesome!! Brought my 10 week old grandpup Gus and he made soo many new friends!!
One of the best dog parks in North America; perhaps in the entire world! This park is owned by Erie County but is operated mostly by a volunteer board of directors who is dedicated to its success. This park allows dogs to go off leash on a 100% disconnected island in the middle of the Tonawanda Creek. A gated foot bridge connects the parking area to the one entrance. The park also has bathrooms and a water station for cleaning muddy paws (both seasonal). The only downside is that this park is often closed for a few months typically between mid/late winter and mid/late spring. The reason for this is to allow the turf to grow again.
Great Doggie Park! | Stopped off here on the way from Niagara Falls to Buffalo airport to get some extra steps in before a flight. It was a great doggo park! Dogs could come off the leash and have a good run around! Restrooms were also clean!
Lots of friendly pups! Takes a little bit for pup to get acclimated to all the dogs off leash but will be returning!
Lovely when its open. They’ve done a good job of upkeep over the summer.
Great place to go. Lots of shade and places to sit and relax. My dog loves it
What a beautiful place for our furry friend. Lots for our pups to explore and to run around. Well maintained.
It was a nice dog park. But If your dog likes to swim hope he/she dont swim across to the other side.park has a little beach for the dogs to swim. would be better if people picked up their dog poo. it also looked like it needed the lawn mowed the stone trail was clean stay on the trail or you may get poo on the shoes like I did they do have a wash station on the way out and have water bowls for the pups. I Would of gave it more stars if it was a little cleaner. I know its tough to get the pee smell to go away with that may dogs but it is a very strong smell at times. Still was a fun big park to let the dog run around it does have a double gate so they cant run out on you.
Beautiful park. So many friendly people. Didnt see any feces on the ground. My dog was very happy to play here.
Even though this shows a Bark Park, we are walking on other side of Bark Park across the Ellicott Creek. We park at the far end of Ellicott creek park and walk along the Ellicott creek. Wonderful walk.
Always a wonderful time when we go! The visitors with wagging tails are all well behaved and nice and the two leggers are equally as nice minus the drool and wet kisses.
This is one of the best dog parks we go to. Whenever were visiting family its a daily visit to burn off some energy. The island is huge and everybody is always friendly.
Enormous squeaky ball graveyard. Maintained by volunteers and volunteer memberships. Great place for dog watching and people watching. Bring coffee and a book and it can be your favorite Sunday morning hangout.
Literally dog heaven. Great for owners too. Take a walk around this beautiful island park and let your dogs run free and swim.
By far the best dog park in Erie county! Ive been bringing my dogs here for more than 5 years and its been great. People are friendly and most dogs are well behaved. Its refreshing to have such a big off leash dog park where you can let your pup run free while you walk around the park or take a load off at one of the many rest areas.
4th time is a charm! Please check their Facebook page as the County does not post any maintenance updates on the Google page. But Juneau Elizabeth had a ball in and out of the water this morning. Thank you!
My dog absolutely loves this park. Its the best around. There is a path around the whole island, a dog beach, and little trails off the main path for your dog to explore. A dog wash by the entrance with a water fountain. This park also holds events!
AMAZING!!! Best dog park weve ever been to! Lots of room and shade. Dogs were well mannered and playful. I wish every dog park designer would visit this place before designing a dog park.
Both Oden (my puppy pup) and myself throughly enjoyed ourselves. It was nicely landscaped, clean smooth walking trails with no cracks or debris, and overall great sights to see. The best part though was there such nice people and dogs for both of us to chat/ play with!Busy too but not crowded, tons of dos everywhere, it was awesome to see ao many dog lovers in one place. Everyone was chill and laid back. A great place for people of any age to visit and enjoy the sights, if you have a dog to take or not, I seen quite a few people without dogs too, either jogging or sitting under a tree reading. I loved it and we will be back there shortly, and it was right on the path we drive everyday! Only I never knew it was a dog 🐕 park, my only small issue was there was NO seating ANYWHERE!! Like really no benches? Whats up with that?!
This is the best dog park we have ever been to. Lots of room for our dogs to roam. Overall all normal nice dogs. Enjoyed the water fountain for the pups.
Our pups love visiting the Bark Park. Its so fun to watch them socialize and play until theyre all tired out. They still dont want to leave. This is such a gift to our fur babies. We 100% recommend.
Very odd but awesome dog park. The island is a 13 acre dog paradise! Unlike most dog parks that are just a large fenced in grass area, this is a large wooded area. Not brush covered, just very large treed park and the trees have a large canopy! Can be muddy at times so dress accordingly. About the only downside i’ve had is when my one dog tried to swim across the creek off the island! Since my initial review a new water station right by the inner gates for both dogs and people has been installed and is very nice to have and its on a concrete pad so its not messy either!
This is our favorite dog park in Buffalo. So cool that the creek provides natural borders, and there is a walking path loop with picnic tables, benches, pavilions, swing sets, book share cabinets, etc. There is even a beach area for dogs to play in shallow water. The walking loop is really nice for dogs that dont quite know what to do at a standard dog park. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend!
Great place to let your dog off of the leash to play with their other 4 legged friends! My dog goes crazy the minute we pull into the lot.
As an contract engineer, I travel a lot and have stayed in almost every region of the country. I am able to do this because my fiancée and my dog travel with me. We look for dog parks where ever we are for our Black Lab to socialize and get out nervous energy. We found the Bark Park while passing through Buffalo and I can not say enough about this park!!!It is huge, well kept, and just an oasis for dogs. Its on an island and if your dog is a water lover, there is acess to the water! They have a station to wash your dog after a hard play, too. I would consider work in this area based solely on this park.
Lovely bark. Sad to see the old WPA amenities so decayed, but there’s some clever reuse and does make a lovely environment for dogs. Lots of trees marked for cutting, which worries me, but there are recent plantings as well so hopefully the woodsy atmosphere will be maintained.
Nice place for dogs to play.
Hands down the best dog park Ive ever been to and Ive seen some pretty awesome ones. The fact that its an island for dogs is cool in itself but its a got so many trees which helps provide a lot of shade but also trails, and an area at the water for the dogs to jump in. Very chill vibe even with a lot of dogs. If you are looking for a great dark park this is it!!
This is a great place. My puppy always has a great time and love meeting new puppers and people.
This park is amazing. It is well taken care of, fun, and HUGE. I feel so lucky to live close by because there is nothing else like this place (I looked). I basically raised my puppy here, and we still go at least 3x a week. There are always dogs for yours to play with and you can get a good walk in. Time flies and youll have a tired pup.Be responsible, dont bring your dog if they have ANY kind of aggressive behavior, and pick up after your dog!!
We absolutely love this dog park. It has a great set up that allows your fur friends to go for a swim, run off leash, and play in a completely safe environment. The families who take their dogs here are respectful and Ive had no issues with aggressive animals which can be a problem at some of the other local parks. There is also a playground, grassy areas, and picnic tables/BBQ areas for family time. Its a big, clean (although a bit muddy at this point in the year) and fun place to go.
Awesome dog park! Never had an issue in 5 years with problematic dogs. There picnic benches of which some are covered. But be aware of the dogs :-)
Great place to take your dog. Very little to worry about with the moat surrounding the island. Majority of people seem to be very responsible dog owners. I have never had a bad experience here in the past 3 years that i have frequented this park. Def the best dog park in buffalo by far for all the right reasons.
Beautiful island dog park with bathrooms, a playground, and a library kiosk.
Actually sat across the creek looking at the park where doggies are allowed to swim!! OMG it was so entertaining 🤣 lots of dogs running, swimming and playing! Delightful to watch! I would imagine its a rather nice place to bring your puppy to run and socialize!
Absolutely the best dog park around the city. It is an entire island where dogs can roam and play! I take my dog their regularly and he loves it! Its great because you can introduce your do to not only other dogs but also have the option to see how they do with water. As it is a large park you can also practice recall very well. The people who frequent there are also very friendly and happy to swap dog tips/stories. Highly recommend.
Only have had 2 incidences with negligent dog owners not even watching their dog in 2 years, so thats not bad. Kept clean. Its close too.
Excellent place to take your dog. I have 2 dogs and everytime we pull up here, they go wild because they know how much fun it is. Its a very large park with lots of room to run around, and also has several spots to go swimming if your dogs are into that. They also have a bathroom here which is convenient, and a place for your dog to drink. This is probably the best dog park in the area. Highly recommend it.
Love the park itself, however people that have dog’s with aggression issues with other dogs, or really impolite behavior towards other dogs should keep them leashed. We were there very recently with our 4 month old puppy ( to work on socialization mind you ) and a rather large husky got nasty with her, and it was totally unprovoked. To put it very bluntly, the dog was close to tasting my husband’s sneaker. We had to leave the park because my puppy was terrified. By the way, my puppy was leashed. If you have a dog with issues, either don’t bring them, or please keep them on a leash. My puppy shouldn’t have to deal with your dog’s problems.
Since January 2014, the parks island has been a designated Bark Park, where dogs are allowed to run un-leashed.
As soon as we crossed bridge and went in gate my golden retriever puupy was viscous attacked by another dog, very traumatic. not parks fault but awful experience
The best dog park in WNY, bar none.
What a great time we had!!! Clean and safe open area with water around the property that my dog loved playing in.At the entrance gate there is a watering hole for the pups to drink and even a hose to rinse off the pups after. We didnt have any issues with aggressive or out of control dogs. There was one lady that got upset because her dog ran away from her playing, but seriously thats what they are there for. There is a no leash needed policy, it is a leashless park, so they run around carefree, thats the point lol. You have to just follow them to ensure they are behaving. If you dont want your dog to play, run around and have a good time, this is definitly not the place to go 😅Its just a really good time for ppl and pups
I absolutely love this place. Such an amazing spot to bring your dog.
I always wanted to take my dog to the bark park but I wasn’t sure since she is only 8 pounds and sometimes she is scared of larger dogs. We went there this morning and i regret I never went there before! All the dogs are well behaved and the owners are very careful with their dogs. Plus everybody is so friendly! If you have a small dog and you are hesitate to go there please don’t :) It is perfectly safe for smaller dogs.
Beautiful off leash park, had a great time wandering with our bubs, will absolutely come back
Great place to take your dog for off leash fun. Plus its beautiful, many trees for shade so the dogs do not overheat on hot days. Nice and clean.
My dog loves it here and I love that we can let her off leash in a secure place. I wish the county did more to clean the park, or mow more often. Also be sure to keep an eye on your dog. Sometimes dogs are aggressive or unsure off leash and it can make for some tense situations between dogs and owners.
I visited here this morning, just exploring. I didnt realize there was a dog park here, I was just looking for a place to take a walk. I dont own a dog, but I enjoy their company, so it was fun to have a walk through this beautiful forested area and watch several dogs playing together. One of them did run up to me and say hi. This is an off-leash area, so just be aware of that if youre visiting for a stroll. It was a wonderful way to break up the morning commute.
We just went there for the first time over the weekend! Our dog loved it! He was super exhausted when we left. There is so much space for them to run. I was nervous since it was so large but he stayed near us. All of the other dogs and owners seemed super friendly. We will be going there lots more now that I know its there and so close to home. My son really enjoyed it too! There was so much for our pooch to explore. Hes gonna have lots of fun there this summer. :)
Great place to take your dogs; its a dog haven more than a dog park. Lots of space to run, big wide path to walk, creek access and lots of shade. I also have small children; the path is gravel so not ideal for strollers but graded enough to make it work. Also there are some old picnic tables and an old playground which were both enjoyed briefly by the kids.
Absolutely wonderful place to bring your dog! Just make sure you keep an eye on the since its a big place!
The pup had a lot of fun. All dogs there will behaved and their humans too. If your pup is social and needs to run then I highly recommend this park. Water is cold so be ready for cold and wet dog. Pet store near by had a nice dog wash
I was skeptical because my dog has never been to a dog park but he lives to run and play but with so many dogs I thought he wouldnt behave and I would have a difficult time with him. Fast forward to his now 4th visit and he absolutely loves it. I let him off his leash and runs with the other dogs but comes back almost all of the time when I call him. The park has bathrooms, poop bags and water for the 🐕. We love it here👏👏👏👏
Pretty nice dog park . Lots of friendly people and lots of friendly dogs.
Truly a wonderful place to bring your well socialized dogs! They can run free on the island and interact with other generally well behaved dogs and people! There are picnic tables, a bathroom, and plenty of shade.
The best dog park in the area! The island setting is unique and the dogs absolutely love it. This is a great place to let your dog socialize or even go for a swim. Friends of Ellicott Creek Park deserve so much credit for keeping this amazing resource open for all of us.
I challenge you to find a better dog park. Run by volunteers who are dedicated to keeping it forested/vegetated, safe, clean, and enjoyable for any dog owner that wants a place to run their dog.
Its a great off-leash park with a lot of room for your dog to sniff around, explore, socialize and play with other dogs, and swim! Because there is so much room, make sure your dog is trained enough to come back to you when called and to not act very aggressively around others. Everyone and every dog Ive met there has been nothing but kind :)
Bark Park is a great place to let your dogs burn off some energy and socialize. There are nice paths to walk on and its shaded so you wont get too hot while your pups play.
As good as it gets for letting your dog loose to socialize.Since it is on an island and there is a double gate for access there is very little opportunity for your dog to escape, unless it is a swimmer.
Clean, nice scenery. Off leash island and secure. Trees for shade so the dogs do not overheat on hot days along with a little water area the dogs jump and play in. I am very pleased this is open to the public.
This is a great place for both bug and little dogs. They are able to run around the whole island and swim because the whole island is the dog park. My lab loves to go swimming in the creek!
My dogs, Rosie (15 lb chihuahua mix) and Zelda (20 lb. Chihuahua mix) love the Bark Park. They can safely go off-leash and roam with other dogs.
What a great place to take your dog and let him run out all that energy! Been going there for quite a few years with different dogs, but they all love it.
We LOVE the bark park. Its nice to get out and walk and let our pups off leash to run and play. Weve been going for years and we have yet to meet a rude person or pet. Its a 3 mile island. And very secure and safe, theres even several places for you pup to jump in the water. Its definitely a must visit.
This is my dogs rating because i know they LOVE it here. Very big and open, plenty of room for many dogs to run around and swim! Be prepared for them to get a little muddy tho if they do swim. With such high traffic the ground gets really mucky around the swimming areas.
This dog park is everything your dog could ever want in care free off leash running! Maybe swimming in the summer! All breeds. All sizes. Bring your poop bags and be responsible. We drive 30 mins.. worth it!!
Good doggos found here. Well fenced in area. There is a double gate that prevents dogs from escaping. Theres a big yard with some paths and a few spots where there is water for your dog to jump in. Be careful though because the water is surrounded by mud so be prepared to wash off their feet later! I bet you could bring a cat on a leash here and get away with it as well.
Absolutely LOVE this place. Always kept cut and clean they have poo bags you can grab so you dont have to bring your own. The dogs can go swimming they also have drinking area for the dogs by the bathrooms. Even a donated library which is odd but cool lol. During the summer I prob take my dogs every other day, its honestly a dogs heaven.. Beautiful place and wish it will always be here.
Pleasently surprised by this dog park. First time for us and my dog loved it. He hates crowded fenced bark yards that pen him into socializing when he doesnt want to. Here he is free to explore and meet dogs on his own terms. He was much happier here and I will have to go back when we dont spend the whole walk getting from the other end of the park to the dog park - my mistake.
This was an amazing park. Nice windy trail to walk along with your dog. Real bathrooms and even a tiny little library of lending books. Picnic tables, plenty of points that your dog can get into the water if thats their thing. Even swings and such for the kids. I was very impressed. Its a bit of a drive for us but worth it in every way.
Once you go to this dog park, all others will be spoiled for you. No other park in WNY or honestly most places offers dogs this environment. Its perfect for them to explore and feel like theyre in nature rather than just in a big fenced yard. Havent seen an owner fight here like I have at other dog parks in the area either.
Love this large dog park. Almost all dogs I encounter are well mannered. Lots of trash bins and potty bags, although those bins are quite smelly. Not sure how often they are emptied. Kind of hits you in the face when you walk around.
The park itself is wonderful! It deserves all 5 stars. However, I stopped bringing my poodle there because he got attacked by some bigger dogs on two separate occasions. MOST pups (big and little) who visit Bark Park are very friendly and well-behaved. So, its unfortunate that a few inconsiderate people have ruined this place for us because theyll unleash their aggressive dogs without a second thought. Im writing this as a caution for anyone who owns a smaller pooch. If you want to bring your little guy or gal here, JUST BE CAREFUL.
My dog loves this park and in my opinion it is the best dog park in the area. Very nice walk. Lovely spot just be careful as always to watch your dog during interactions and if your dog is prone to aggressive behavior, please keep it on a leash.
Relaxing, buy people need to do a better job picking up after their dogs..... our little girl loved running and even the kids like the playground
This is the sort of dog park I wish I knew about sooner. It is a dedicated island for an off-leash dog park along Ellicott Creek. The entrance area is just off the main road with a parking lot and a bridge that walks over to the island. The bridge ends in the usual double gate setup for dog parks so dogs can be unhooked and dogs already in the park cant get out too easily. Then there is a wide area, about 2 football fields worth, of space to run in. At one end of the park, the ground slopes gently enough for the dogs to play in the water. For the owners, there are picnic tables, bathrooms with running water, and plenty of little statues, gardens, and even an old castle-like building to explore. There is also a little book-exchange library if youd like to sit and read while your dog burns off energy.Everyone was very friendly, dogs and people alike, and I even when a couple dogs would show signs of having issues, owners would hurriedly step in to diffuse the situation. I saw no actual fights between dogs and most dogs stayed near their owners. This was a fantastic park, and it seems to get really busy on weekends which is great for socializing.
The Bark Park is the shining jewel of dog parks in the Buffalo area. Its dog island, with trails and nature for the pups to explore without the risk of getting lost, where other parks are just a small plot of grass with some fence around it. Dogs get bored easily in such parks, but not the Bark Park. Its where we take our dogs when we really want to wear them out.
Best dog park rated by people and dogs. Island secluded by water for your dogs to run around and be themselves. Never had any issues with other aggressive dogs. Nice scenery, though can get very muddy around the winter season.
My first time with my 10yr old yorkie rescue, it was wonderful!! Cannot say enough about the grounds, plenty of places to take a seat or even picnic! There was even one of those little community libraries☺I actually took a very interesting book and will be bringing many back to the library. There was a good amount of people and dogs in this sunny Tuesday afternoon, dogs running all over the place happy and having a great time. With the exception of 1 or 2 large dogs that were boisterous and little aggressive with the little dogs, the park was a joy to experience with my lil old shaggy Reddi. So grateful this park is available for the community.
This was my first time going to Bark Park and it was really nice! I liked the paths that they had for you to walk on. The o only reason it is not 5 stars is that they dont have fencing on the other side of the water and dogs could get out that way.
Our dog LOVES this park so much - Theres so much room to run and two or so different areas to swim. There are indoor bathrooms as well, along with a few covered areas with picnic tables.
This is the best bark park Ive ever been to! Good exercise is possible for dogs and humans with the gravel paths around the island. Tons of tall trees; drinking water and mud beaches for the dogs; pavilions, picnic tables, restrooms and a playground for the people. Love it here and so does Ambrosia!
Shadow and I had a great time on the island. All of the people and their dogs were well behaved and friendly. A lot of the people walk around the large paved path doing laps. Shadow and I just played in the large open grass areas. He found a tennis ball in the grass and wanted to fetch that ball for a full hour. It was a very peaceful sunny afternoon. A great day to spend some outdoor time with my four legged friend.
We loved it here! Just moved to the area and glad we found a great dog park right away. Owners are responsible and most dogs were friendly, really great vibes here
Today 7/14 /20 someone stole my dogs leash off of the chain link fence at the park entrance. Its a blue flexi leash with a rubber grip and a blue safety light for night walks. Whomever you are that stole my dogs leash thank you for potentially having my dog run off or get injured because you had to steal from a sweet dog thats never hurt anyone. I will now think twice about bringing my dog here and I will be contacting the park manager to see if you were caught on camera. I hope karma catches up to you and not your dog.
Great dog park on a small island. My two Yorkies always enjoy running around playing with the other dogs. Bags are provided my the entry gate to clean up after your pet.
This was my first visit and I was not disappointed. Access was a little tricky, a single double gate with people entering & exiting, but it all worked out.
The island is the park. It’s a lovely place for your pups to run around and meet new dogs. Well behaved dogs and friendly owners. This park is a MUST visit!!
Best dog park Ive ever seen... Its a 1 way in, 1 way out, double gated island that is taken care of very well by the town and volunteers. It is a little slice of heaven for our 4 legged friends and nearly everybody you meet is super friendly. There is a stoned walking path that leads around the island and it has bathrooms that are open in warmer months. If there is any negative, as with so many things in life, there is always your occasional ignorant human who wont bother to read or follow the posted rules and some who are really just clueless as dog owners. For example, if your dog is in heat (already breaking that spayed or neutered rule) why the hell would you bring her to a dog park and then wonder why she is being bothered? Anyway, Ive been taking my pitty here since we got him and he absolutely LIVES for the next trip there because he gets to be a dog for a little while instead of just a pet.
This park has absolutely stunning views all year around. The people that go to this park are very friendly. All the dogs are great and love to see one another. Its an all around great atmosphere!
Best place to take your dog. They absolutely will love it here and playing with the other dogs. My dog gets so excited when she knows we are going here and looks forward to going every weekend.
Busy place. Parking lot and entrance could use some work, for reason of potholes. Three entrances. Take your pick of which entrance will do the least damage to your vehicle or yourself. Dog walkers, bicycle riders. Various age groups. Carry your doggie poop bags for clean-up, which sometimes becomes necessary within seconds of exiting the vehicle.A people watching/pet watching place to eat your take-out meal and toss the trash soon as done. Adequate number of trash receptacles.
This place is awesome for dogs. They are allowed to be off the leash and it is its own island so no chance of the dogs going anywhere they shouldnt be. Everyone is very friendly amd respectful. There is the occasional scuffle but we go here all the time.
Fun place to bring the dogs. Nicely kept area, theres a bathroom facility open in summer and a doggie drinking fountain. They provide poop bags if you forgot yours. I think theres also a Lost and Found box.
We love the Bark Park! A lot of care goes into keeping it a clean/safe place for owners and dogs alike.
The absolute best off leash dog park Ive ever been to. Its free. Its friendly. And its awesome. The dogs have a ton of room to roam and humans can walk a loop around the island.
Love this dog park! Lots of shade and room to run!
This park is the best thing to happen to dog owners and dogs in WNY. The environment is always very friendly and sociable, the park is kept clean by dedicated volunteers, and most importantly the dogs love it. Never a bad experience.
Brought our dog here for 1st time....not too many dogs, but there is ALOT of dirt & mud. A few areas for dogs to swim & get relief from the heat....be prepared with towels, travel cage, etc for your car...your pet will be dirty when exiting because of the mud. Also...the access to water is VERY steep, muddy & slick/slippery.
It is an island where you can let your dog off leash - Amazing! There are a few shallow areas where doggies can swim and play in the water also. Basically, it dog and human paradise!
Awsome place had a great time with my friends and our dogs!! Very friendly people and dogs running loose. Most dogs stayed by their owners. I was so proud of how good my dogs were there.
Its a good size park, with lots of space, so dont worry too much about being over crowded. And if you forget to bring your own poop bags, there are plenty there already. The area is well kept, but if it has been raining, wear your boots!
Awesome place to spend time with your dog.As many people, we came here for a visit and i was afraid to not find some good place for my dog, but this park in amazing, very beautiful and clean, its pleasure to walk with dog in such a place.
Great park... So full of friendly pooches, a fantastic spot to let them run! And some nice Bible folks near the entrance too, a total joy!!
Great place to take your dog. It is an island, so youre dog cannot run off. Swimming, running, nature, a swing set, and shade make this a great dog park that people will enjoy too.
Its a great spot for dogs--big trees, swimming water, secure enclosure. . . My dog and I both love it. But you do have to plan for dog bath time after each visit!
Great place to bring your dogs and if they are comfortable around other dogs then they can explore off their leash around the confines of the island. Nice Woodland area to walk the kids and fur babies.
Attacked! Our beautiful 12 pound shi- poo was attacked last night by a large (overweight, white with black spots) dog at Bark Park. I never heard my dog cry out like that and I never want to hear it again. The large dog lunged toward my dog twice and straddled her and pushed her down the hill. I frantically ried to pull the dog off unsuccessfully but the owner finally got their dog away. My dog was traumatized. We were all traumatized just watching the incident. We are seriously grateful that our dog wasnt hurt or killed by this incident. The older female owner wasnt apologetic at all! To make matters worse, she said that our dog was fine and did not see a problem! The older male owner was much more concerned about our dog.My dog did not provoke the dog. She was just standing there and the dog went at her! Please do not assume people know their dogs and have good judgment regarding their dogs.I wanted my dog to have the time of her life at this idyllic dog park! It ended up being an awful experience I wont ever forget.
5 STAR!! AWESOME. There are so many things to do. Alot of dogs to meet and alot of places to get water for your dog. They have bowls everywhere or bring your own. It is shadey and has playgrounds throughout if you want to bring your young kids. There are tons of places to sit, and even a little library stop.
The most beautiful and well maintained dog park weve ever been to. Its our favorite place to be with our pups
I enjoy the park very much. My granddogs go there on Saturday and Sunday morning and they love it. They play with other dogs and get alot of exercise.
An island. For dogs.... What more can I say. We would go every day if it was closer. Our puppy loves the opportunity to really stretch his legs and run, its so much bigger than most dog parks.
This park is great! My dogs love it there. Especially because they can run and play without a leash!!! Great place. I would recommend it to all dog owners.
Wow best dog park everIt is a a very very large parkWater for the dogs, trails and a swimming area for the pups..Highly recommend
Beautiful and peaceful dog park! Playground for kids and dogs can play in the creek. First time there today and our dog and kids had a wonderful time! We will be back. . A lot!
This is the song I sing my dog so she knows we are going bark, bark, park park park. She gets excited and knows where we are going.
This place is great for dogs. It is an island. Dogs have access to the water in various spots. Just be mindful during cold weather as the water freezes. Wear clothes that are able to get dirty especially when it has bee raining as there is mud. But all dogs go home happy and tired!
Loved the park. Very well set put together. Ton of sticks around for the dogs to play with. Good paths to walk around as well as a little beach
We love Bark Park. We dont have a dog, but we sight see other peoples dogs. This is a very nice park with playgrounds and swings.
Great place. If your dog likes to swim its even better! Big place so its usually not too crowded. Good place for your dog to make friends :)
Great place to let your dogs run and play with other dogs
Awesome place! Huge island for your dog to roam free. Small entrance into the river for water dogs at the back of the island. My Great Dane was a big fan 👍👍
This place is amazing, weve been going for years. So big and all the dogs can run wild and go in the water. They all got along great with no incidents!
Daisy and Duke approved. Really nice place for the pups to be pups
So far so good... My puppy is loving it each visit over the winter...other parks flooded today, this one was wet but with rain boots you could get around. Dog didnt care.
The only reason Im giving it one star is because a lot of the dogs arent leashed so anything could happen and you wouldnt know until it was too late and my own dog got attacked here by another dog and nothing was done about it. Had to take her to the vet immediately as she was bitten and bleeding. The vet said that if the other dog bit 2 inches higher, my dog would have died. So please pay attention to your dog.
Very spacious park/ island with a doggie beach, murals, and a free library. If those dont excite you, go see the canines running circles around you and pulling stunts like diving in the river. Surprisingly clean too!
Beautiful place to take our dogs!!
Any day at the Bark Park is the best day ever!!!
Such a cool park. The vast majority of the dogs here were very friendly! Park was clean and just great for dogs and people alike
Decent lil area...could be kept up just a lil bit more...but I & my dogs like it.
Huge dog park island , lots of room for the dogs to run around and socialize , swimming is available if the dogs like that
This place is temporarily closed due to fallen trees. But there is a path along the creek you can walk down. If you go on Sunday mornings you might run into a grumpy old lady who yelled F*** you keep your dog off the path. Your leash isnt regulation length and youre going to get ticketed. We werent anywhere near her and didnt inconvenience her in any way so Im not really sure what that was all about but Ill definitely be back every Sunday morning to say hello to her!
What a great place to bring your pets. Lourd of room to run and play, a gated bridge to keep them safe on the island. Theres things to see there for both animal and owner. Plus, if you are a pokemon player there are several pokestops and 3 gyms there.
Walking paths and trail. Picnic tables and grills. Real bathrooms. Lending library. Tons of areas for water access if you have a water dog. Also some swings and stuff for kids. By far the absolute best dog park weve discovered in Buffalo. Its mixed sizes.
Best dog park for well socialized dogs! Lots of space with shaded paths and access to water
Kinda little known secret area, your dog or dogs must be very well behaved, its very free roam for pets. . . You got a well-trained dog youre going to love this place and so will they . . . .
One of our favorite places to take our dogs. We always have a good time, but more importantly, our dogs have a great time. Always plenty of dogs to play with. Grest access to water as well
My dog has been going for over 10 years he loves it everytime! Lots of friendly dogs, plenty of water and land, also its kept up real nice as well
My dog’s favorite place in the whole world! A beautiful spot and unlike any other off-leash park that we have come across.
Bark Park is a huge dog park. Its nice because its mostly shaded, and has space for dogs to disengage from each other.
My first time there the dog had a great time but next time I will bring a towel after I found out he loved the water
Best kept dog park so much to do
What a wonderful dog park. Its so nice to have a safe place to allow your dog off leash without feeling cooped up in a pen.
Such a cool, gated off area to let your dog run free and make friends! lots of space. theres also benches, pavilions, garbages and baggies available.
Excellent place to exercise your dog. Totally enclosed by water, keeping your dog safe, also the added benefit of your dog being able to take a dip.
It nice but with so many trees its a bit dark in the park.and I dont like that the dogs once in the park dont have to be on a leash some of the dogs are big and you dont know if they are mean.
