Smaller place thats more likely to cater to your dogs needs a little more than those places that just let all the dogs into a big area and say good luck. My wifes dog is a very anxious mix breed so it was nice knowing shes put in her own area and let out for potty breaks on a schedule

I love this place! First of all, you dont even have to get out of your car. They pick up and drop off your dog curbside in Kenmore, NY. Also there are cameras you can watch your dogs play on. Im constantly seeing the employees playing and petting my dog! No other dog day care does that in my experience. Finally, my puppy has a lot of medical problems. They are very diligent about telling me if they noticed any issues. I highly recommend A Joyful Dog Inc.!

Amazing caring staff, awesome place. We brought our dog there after a bad experience at a large daycare that was over packed and under staffed. And he has been a happy weekly visitor there for almost two years now, daycare day is his favorite day of the week. Boarding is also fantastic, we trust joyful and they have been nothing but fantastic to our boy ❤️

They are so good with our Boxer. He requires medications and can be anxious. They care for him like good family would.

I absolutely love that there is such a committed, caring and communicative home away from home for my dog 🐶 I left my puppy here yesterday in hopes of going on vacation, but due to the snow storm my flight was canceled and I picked him up a week early. The staff was wonderful with my black lab, and one of the workers named Karen went above and beyond to ensure my pup was comfortable. I will absolutely be recommending A Joyful Dog to my friends and family who need someone to watch their fur babies. The prices are very affordable, the staff is very responsive and overall I felt very comfortable leaving my dog here for the first time.

My wife and I purposefully sought this place out because my Great Dane does better with women than he does with men. These ladies are awesome. I cant say enough good things about them. My Dane and my husky love this place. My dogs are more than happy when they see us pull up to Joyful Dog. My dogs jump out the car and rush right into the building.Quick story: I boarded my dogs for a week and my Dane was having an eye issue. Joyful Dog called me and I could tell right away how concerned they were for my dog. Thank God it was only his allergies, but they were more than willing to take my Dane to his vet and even pick up medicine if they had. They were happy to go out of their way and work with my wife and myself. It took some much stress off of my wife and my shoulders just knowing they care about my dogs like they would if it were a kids daycare. They have a lifetime customer in me.

Local women owned business with an incredibly talented staff that prioritizes not only dog safety and care, but their comfort and joy. Im addicted to their holiday photoshoots and they have staff on site 24/7, which puts my mind at ease when my pups board there. Cant recommend these incredible ladies enough!

Our Doberman Cersei was boarded in Mid July during our camping trip to Darien lake. She usually joins us camping but we didn’t want to leave her in the trailer all day while we visited the park. She usually loves the attention she gets while boarding and has been to A joyful dog over a dozen times. However it had been over a year since her last visit due to our lack of travel (Covid). She really struggled this time. I believe because of new kennels and her anxiety caused by change. She was very unhappy and the staff let us know right away. We decided to go and pick her up early. The staff didn’t charge us for her two night stay. I can’t say enough about the wonderful people who work here. I have recommended them to everyone I know for years & will continue to do so. Their number one priority is the animals. And that’s all you can ask for. Thanks again guys for always taking such good care of our Cersei.

This place is awesome. We went out of town for a funeral and had our puppy in daycare all day long until my father in law picked her up at nights. She has constant attention, and we can watch her interact with the other dogs on the webcam. We will be taking her back to play with all her newly made friends. Also, the staff was extremely nice. We cant wait to pick her up tomorrow!

Our dog head been here both for boarding and daycare. He gets so excited and runs right back Everytime. The people that work here are friendly and you can tell they love the dogs. Always had a good experience. Have been using them due almost two years.

Our dogs,Sunny and Abby have been boarded for up to 3 weeks at a time at a Joyful Dog. We have been happy customers from the beginning. All the women have always been excited to see our dogs and our dogs seem just as excited to go there. Contrary to what one complainer wrote , we enjoy seeing some dogs up front with the staff , free to roam and safely behind a large gated area. These women know what they are doing . They understand dogs ! We are away often and I am grateful we have found a second home for a furry friends at a Joyful Dog .

If your looking for a kennel that is eye appealing to humans , the private rooms set up as childrens rooms with tvs set to doggy stations than this isnt for you. if your looking for a kennel geared for the dogs safety and contentment, this is it. We have used this kennel several times , normally for a night or two but we have also left them for up to two weeks and both of our dogs were happy to see us but not overly, they walk right in with tails waging and even better no anxiety when we bring them home, a problem we have had in the past with other kennels. One of our dogs is a puppy-mill rescue with some quirks and the ladies have been great with her. Also, on pick we were given a written report on how things went during the animals stay. I recommend checking out the facility and talking with the staff which is what we did .

Very nice and friendly staff that is knowledgeable. Fair pricing. Good location for us and our boys love going there. They also offer services whole your pups are in their care such as bathing. Every trip out of town, we leave our boys here, their home away from home. These wonderful people have our full trust.

The ladies at a joyful dog did an excellent job caring for my yellow lab while I was away. My dog always is excited to go for daycare, and comes home happy and tired. It is a relief to have a place like A Joyful Dog so close to home.

A safe, caring home away from home for Beau and Lily. Would give 5 ⭐ but would love more to see them grow bigger and offer more lux/comfort for the dogs - soundproofing, larger home-like room/space accommodations with rugs, furniture, toys etc. Improved grooming facilities. More room to run outdoors. We love the place, and theyre so capable, I know they can do it!

Ignore the bad reviews, theyre nonsense. I have no affiliation with the owners or workers at this business, my review is based on experience alone.We had to leave the country for a week for vacation and decided on AJD based on a coworkers recommendation. AJD got us in fast and we dropped our dog off on a Friday. Three employees greeted us and explained their process and plan for slowly introducing our dog to both the employees and other dogs. The workers were polite and friendly and clearly loved dogs. We emailed while overseas to check how things were going and they replied back within minutes. When we picked her up she was happy and exhausted. If youre like my wife and I and are paranoid about leaving your fuzzy friend with strangers for an extended period of time, give AJD a shot.

Completely and utterly disagree with the reviewer Harsiese Utasu. The women who run this business are very knowledgeable, extremely professional, and take tremendous care that their wards are safe and happy. We have been bringing our dog to them since theyd first opened their daycare without incident. They have always done everything they can to accommodate and treat our fur baby as their own. The bond between my dog and the women who run this business is so strong, I happily refer to them as my dog’s “daycare mommies.”I cannot recommend them enough to people looking for daycare and dog kenneling services.

I have been bringing my baby, Winston Willfull, to AJD from the beginning. We couldnt be happier. He was boarded for 3 weeks last year and came home a happy boy. The staff has helped me through his awful puppy years and into his teens ( they still help with advice.)I am retiring soon, but will still bring him part time to keep him active and happy. The staff here is the best

We boarded our dog for 3 nights. The staff was extremely nice and followed our instructions with our pup. It was great being able to check in on our dog using the webcams. We will definitely be coming back!

I am so happy this establishment opened up close to my home! I feel comfortable leaving the loves of my life in the care of A Joyful Dog when I am out of town. They are happy whenever I drop them off or pick them up, which is always a good sign!

This place must be exclusively reviewed by friends of the owner. The facilities are depressing, and reminiscent of prison. Its amazing what a fresh coat of paint and sealant would do. The smell was horrific of urine and feces. The staff was not only condescending, but completely uneducated. They made several comments regarding normal friendly play behavior as rude and claimed one dogs normal curled tail as a tipped sign of aggression. I guess they depend on ignorant consumers who arent trained formally in dog behavior and training. Their goal is clearly not anything resembling a dog daycare, but a cheap business with enough clients with dogs who dont engage to run with zero maintenance. Additionally, they had three unattended dogs in the check in area that were clients. Shame if one ran out the front entrance. Do yourself a huge favor. Dont bother with this place. It is a when, not if, something awful will happen to your animal. No credentials, no accountability, unsanitary facilities, unsafe practices.

We boarded our Bichon Frise, Gigi, at A Joyful Dog a few weeks ago. Gigi is elderly, small and has liver disease. The staff took wonderful care of her!!! If we ever need to board her again, we will not hesitate to return!

This wonderful new Dog Daycare is run by four wonderful women that are excited to meet every dog that enters the building. They offer Dog Daycare, Dog Boarding, Dog Grooming, and Dog Training. During Dog Daycare they work individually with each dog on tricks and commands. They offer Free Socialization gatherings as well, Tuesday Night for Puppies and Wednesday Night for Adult Dogs.

When I pulled up and seen the place my first mind was to not go in for the meet and greet. I wish I would have followed it, upon entering the building I was hit with an overwhelming stench . It was so bad that even after an hour of leaving I still had that odor in my nose where as I had to use nose drops to get rid of it. The floor was all cracked where they introduce the dogs. Watching the camera in front I noticed that there was nobody in the rooms supervising the dogs. Most of the toys that were there were toddler toys for the dogs to jump on, the beds were dirty looking and the dogs were not placed according to size. Needless to say I did not leave my dog there for day care. its my opinion whoever is leaving their dog there for day care or boarding is not a real animal lover as there are many more day cares that run clean supervised facilities. THIS WAS NOT A JOYFUL EXPERIENCE

WOW. I left my skiddish german sheppard here for a couple nights and could not have been more impressed. I logged onto their webcam system and caught them playing fetch (after hours) with my dog for a very long time even after all the daycare dogs went home. The webcam is wildly addictive. They also started teaching Danny a new trick which they showed me when I went to pick him up. We will totally be back!!

They are very sweet staff ! and flexible .and love that they have the option for overnight or just daycare .. the online scheduling process is useful and makes things easy

I have boarded my pooch Shadow at AJD a couple times and have nothing but great things to say. Shadow is a little quirky with other dogs, but at AJD, she gets along with the other dogs wonderfully! It is a tremendous relief to have AJD as an option for Shadow, even last minute!

Everyone there is wonderful. They keep us updated, regularly. They know our dogs by name and give them the attention they so desperately crave

This place is great! My dog struggles with pretty severe dog aggression, and they graciously accommodate all of his needs. I have no doubt that my dog is safe and comfortable whenever I drop him off.

The best thing I could have done for my dog Brooklyn. She use to be very shy but now she is much more social and goes nuts every time we get near the door to drop her off... she loves it!

Our old man pup is a bit grumpy and we never traveled without him before. We were nervous about boarding him. The staff were reassuring and helpful. Our pup was well care for and happy when we got back! Highly recommend this place!!

I can’t express how relieved I am to have found this kennel. After bad experiences at two local kennels, I was so afraid to leave Harley anywhere & thought I would never take a vacation again. The staff are so attentive and they assured me that if Harley didn’t do well in daycare, they would take her out every 3-4 hours (more frequently than she gets at home). I sent them an email the night before with all of Harley’s details and was afraid they would think I was crazy. They responded 30 minutes later with even more questions about how to best care for her. Every time I called to check on her they knew exactly how she was doing. It’s a small place but they are all so concerned about ensuring your pet is comfortable, well fed and exercised - I won’t hesitate to bring Harley here again!!

Staff were friendly, however the owner was rude, condescending, and appears to be overwhelmed. This is apparent by the poor conditions at the facility. We will happily take our pooch to another facility with a better environment.

Luci-fur loves her pals at A Joyful Dog. She goes to daycare a couple days/week and she boarded there for a weekend this summer. Both experiences have been good for her. The staff is very professional, helpful and their place is well run.

My 9 month old Labradoodles daycare, Kindermutt, is closing, so Im in the business for a new daycare. A Joyful Dog was recommended by our current daycare, so I visited their website and felt like this daycare could work. I called to schedule an evaluation and was told evaluations are only done during certain days of the week during a limited window. I made my appointment for a Monday at 9:30 am, knowing I would have to take a day off work.On the day of the evaluation, I brought my puppy to the daycare. Upon entering, I noticed how tiny, unkempt, and seemingly dirty the front end of the daycare appeared to be. There were two dogs in a small pen with a few beds right next to the front door. The front end looked a bit run down, had a strong odor compared to other day cares Ive visited, and overall, had seen better days. The day care attendant (who may have been the owner) noticed my dog was a bit nervous coming in, but gave her some treats. She asked if my dog came from Kindermutt, and when I said yes, she said theyve had a few dogs from Kindermutt come in for evaluations and things didnt work out. I thought this comment was a bit odd and off-putting--it certainly didnt make me feel welcomed or like my dog was wanted here. Nothing else was asked about my dogs socialization or play style. The attendant briefly explained the evaluation process, and I allowed my pup to be taken back for the evaluation. Another attendant offered me to move closer to watch the camera. By moving closer to the tv screen, I saw more of what I believed was the office end of the facility, where another dog was laying down, and again was somewhat put off by the messiness of the back office. I watched on camera as my dog was taken back, and introduced to one or two dogs in a small pen. After a few short moments, she was taken to the larger pen with maybe 8-10 dogs. On the camera, it was difficult for me to tell what was going on, but my pups tail was wagging, as were others, and I did notice her start to try to play with others. I noticed one or two attendants in the frame, and they would occasionally spray dogs with a spray bottle if they were out of line. I believe this was supposed to be a 15-20 minute evaluation, but my pup was brought back to me within less than 10 minutes of being taken back.The attendant told me that my dog was very overwhelmed by the other dogs, and had an inappropriate and rude play style with the other dogs. She said my pup also bared her teeth and therefore, this was not a good match.I found this analysis interesting due to the fact that the attendant herself realized my pup was a bit nervous. Clearly, my dog needed a bit more TLC being introduced to the other dogs but wasnt given that at A Joyful Dog. I want a daycare that is willing to go the extra mile and provide my dog with the individualized care she needs. If a doggie daycare/boarding business cant provide that care in daycare, I surely wont trust their ability to provide that care in a boarding situation. If you have a puppy or a young dog, I wouldnt recommend A Joyful Dog, as it seems that they dont want to provide that care and/or directly supervise the play of young pups who are learning. Perhaps they dont have the staffing or they just allow a larger number of dogs in their daycare and dont have the manpower to manage. In any event, it seemed like the attendant already had her mind made up prior to the evaluation starting; for whatever reason, my pup was denied and Im glad it didnt work out because I would not have felt comfortable leaving her there.That same day, my pup was accepted at Dog Days of Buffalo (which is much cleaner) and was told she did not exhibit any rude or inappropriate play behaviors.

I had a wonderful first-time experience with AJD! Typically, I have someone care for our Golden Retrievers in our home when were away, but due to an unexpected emergency, our sitter had to cancel last minute. I reached out to AJD, and they guided me through the online profile setup and answered all my questions.On the day of drop-off, the front desk staff did a thorough check-in, asking detailed questions about everything I packed and even writing out feeding/administration instructions in bold sharpie to ensure everyone at the kennel was on the same page.Whenever I reached out via phone or email for updates, every staff member responded promptly. They were very accommodating with our pick-up time, and the pups even received a report card!I cant recommend AJD highly enough! Their professionalism, communication, and attention to detail were outstanding.
