Another dissatisfied customer. Three appointments scheduled. First one Melissa was over a half hour late. Second one was a no show. Melissa is very knowledgeable in her field. But she lacks in time management. Always ready with excuses and reasons why shes late or just doesnt show up . Very,very unreliable. Waiting on a refund of 235.00. Small claims court if not. Dont make the same mistake we made. Do your research! Im sure there are many qualified and reliable dog trainers out there. Just dont make Melissa your first choice.

Horrible waste of time and money. I ignored the bad reviews and regret it. Melissa showed up 3 times even though I paid for 5. Every time she was late. By visit 4 she just didnt show up at all. Always had some crazy excuse. She seems like a nice person, but an obvious hot mess who has no business running a business. She has no respect for other people or their time.As far as her skills, shes mediocre at best. The painful part is she advertises herself as a specialist with rescues, but really didnt provide much help at all. So, shes arguably scamming people who are trying to help rescues. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and just say shes just highly disorganized and overvalues her ability. Someone more cynical would say she takes advantage of people in a desperate situation, comes in with a low price when qualified help is more expensive, and then doesnt provide any credible service.If you roll the dice on her, do NOT pay up front. Shell want to sell you a 4-visit package after the first visit and says no refunds, which should have been a red flag from the start.EDIT: Melissa claims I wasnt a client. I was in 2023. I have Venmo receipts and a text history. Sorry Melissa. You stole money from me. Based on reviews, Im not the only one.

Melissa is the dog-whisperer as far as Im concerned. Its very clear she knows what shes doing. We really enjoyed her methods, especially using treats only very sparingly, focusing on positive reinforcement. Our rescue pup responded to Melissas training very well, much better than we could do on our own. She was wonderful and very kind and passionate about her business. Highly recommend to anyone with a dog that needs some guidance

Stressful waste of time! She was at least 30 minutes late to every session, an hour late twice. For our first session with our dog who is highly reactive to people coming to the house, she came into our house and was there for 2 1/2 hours! A dog fight almost happened between my 2 dogs while she had her back turned, and thats when we asked her to leave. She stressed our dog and us humans to the max. We moved our one dog away from the door for her to leave, and when we came back to him we found he had peed in 4 rooms in the house and he has never peed in the house since we got him over 2 years ago. The only reason we continued to have her come back was because we already had paid for multiple lessons upfront (no refunds) and I thought she was a professional, so I thought I could trust her. Following sessions were not much better. Some of her techniques helped my one dog to do a little less excited jumping, but I think our house-guarding dog actually got worse. If you have a reactive dog, do your research on dog training and behavior certifications and find someone better. A well qualified trainer with certifications and continuous education in behavior does a much better job.

Melissa is absolutely AMAZING! What first drew me to her was that she came right to your house. Other trainers I was looking into wouldn’t do that. She is so professional and flexible. There were a couple times I had to reschedule my appointment and she was so understanding and easy to work with my schedule. She helped my Frankie June is so many ways and even after the first lesson I had seen a difference in my dog. She also helped me be more confident in situations with Frankie and how to handle my dog for her own specific needs. I would recommend Melissa and Henry’s Helping Paw Dog Training to anyone! Both me and Frankie are going to miss her but we know we have a forever friend with us and we are both so grateful for Melissa.

Melissa is phenomenal! We rescued an incredibly shy dog who jumps from trust issues to separation anxiety based on the members of our household. Melissa has taken the time to ensure we each know how to work with our pup. Within TWO sessions we have seen strides of bravery and confidence!

Melissa was wonderful to work with! She helped our puppy with separation anxiety and gave us so many tools to use to help her feel safe and comfortable when we needed to leave her or welcome guests into our home. She covered a lot of ground with various issues we were having with our dog and zoey responded really well to her training. I would highly recommend her!

We recently adopted a rescue, and she had a lot of trouble adjusting to all the change. Melissa has been there for us from the minute we contacted her, and after only one session we saw such a major change in our dog. She went from excessive barking and pacing, to acting like a puppy again! She loves training now, and sees it like playtime! We couldnt be more thankful for Melissas help. Shes amazing at what she does and I dont know where wed be without her!

Melissa was amazing! My dog Jax is a reactive and fearful dog. She has given him and myself confidence in situations where we were both nervous. My neighbors have stopped me to tell me how great he’s doing on our walks. I will always recommend her and her training techniques.

In one session, we examined the areas of weakness with our dog and found resolutions to each one. No stone was left unturned. Stan bit at the mail lady. Fortunately he ended up with a mouth full of mail and not mail lady, but we all know what happens to dogs, especially pits, who bite. We filled out the contact us form on the site and hoped for the best. Melissa called us quickly and came out to evaluate our Stan. There is hope. Stan responded surprisingly well to Melissa, and she showed us how to teach him to have better manners and not go bolting out of the door to be surprised by the poor mail lady. We are practicing good door manners every time we go out and Stan sits by the door like a good boy waiting to be invited out! His sister Shirley is practicing, too! Things are already so much less chaotic and I cant wait to walk my good boy down the street, instead of getting dragged by the neighborhood menace! I have only good things to say about Melissa!

Melissa is the best trainer ! She goes above and beyond to help train ur dog no matter what issues ur pup has ! She has a special way of connecting with ur dog and trains the owner too! I’ve learned so much! Highly recommended!!

Melissa the owner is a dedicated dog lover. She has such a way with dogs that is amazing. It’s like she can feel what they are thinking! I call her the dog whisperer! And she even comes to your house which is awesome. We have more lessons to go so I will post another review soon.

I am so grateful for Melissa! We just adopted Simba, a 1yr 7 month handsome Pit Bull Mix and we (my husband, Simba, and I) are having some “getting to know each other” issues so I messaged Melissa for some help and she responded quickly, asking the right questions and giving suggestions. She then came to my house for only about 15 minutes and showed us some tricks and explained how to handle certain situations with Simba. Melissa is a fantastic person, I am so thankful for her professionalism, and her willingness to help us in every way to make our relationship with Simba better. Melissa is nothing but a SCAM!! Completely unprofessional from our first day. She showed up late to all three of our training sessions. I paid her in full for 5 sessions and only received two. She was almost 1.5 hours late to our second visit, which she encouraged us to invite family members to, said she had to squeeze someone in last minute. I cancelled the third visit because she ruined our day waiting on her to arrive. She texted me 3 mins after our 6pm training and she said was leaving her house and would be there in 5. She wasn’t even close after 30 mins past our CONFIRMED training time. She did not respect us as customers and gave poor excuses as to why she was late. She promised handouts, emails and receipts which we never received. I have been trying to get ahold of her and she has completely ghosted us with our money. I 100% would NOT recommend her or her business. Please take your dog else where because she does not value your time, your money or your business.

Melissa has been working hard with my dog shadow,she was jumping alot,being a little aggressive towards new people and Melissa has been working hard with myself ad my family and shadow to understand why she dies this ad how to correct her behavior so she can be calm around unfamiliar faces thank you so much Melissa

I couldn’t have asked for a better, kinder person to train my puppy.She has an understanding and love for dogs that is evident as you watch her work with your dog. She uses only reward based training.Melissa will not only teach your dog but you will be amazed at how much you will also learn about dog behavior and training from her.

Melissa at Henrys Helping Paw is a dog whisperer!!! Our puppy Louie did not do well in a group class so I reached out to her. We have had two lessons so far and the difference between the two has been like night and day. Louie can now sit! She is patient, confident, and knows her stuff. She makes you feel comfortable, is extremely flexible, and is available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns that come up. If you have a dog that needs some help, look no further. Shes affordable, and I guarantee you wont regret it!

Melissa is personable and awesome with dogs. My dog responded very well to her and we learned a lot in just one lesson. Highly recommend!

Havent even had our 1st training session yet, but just from the conversation over the phone I can say Im very very happy and confident we will get the results we are looking for our 3 puppies
