Buffalo Cares holds a special place in my heart for giving my sweet southern foster dog a chance at life and love with a family. I can’t say enough beautiful things about this rescue - if there were more than five stars available, they would earn them all!!
Buffalo CARES does amazing saving southern animals from overcrowded shelters! They take these animals into their care and find them great forever homes. Without BC and its awesome fosters and volunteers these animals don’t have a chance in the South. Through BC I met the most kind and compassionate humans. Hands down my favorite rescue 10/10
Buffalo CARES is one of the most thorough and compassionate rescues of our community. They are always willing to jump in and help whenever they can even with other rescues. I have read some of the not so nice reviews which compelled me to write one of my own. Some people do not understand what is truly involved with running a rescue and YES will people get denied and YES will some get upset, pissed off, feel some type of way….. what people need to understand a LOT goes into rescuing these animals. Most come into a rescue needing extensive care whether it be medical socialization ect. We rescuers put our heart and sole into helping these animals with whatever issues they come with. SO YES rescues WILL put what is best for the animal above ALL even if that upsets someone. Buffalo CARES does not discriminate against anyone, they take every consideration of every applicant but most importantly they go above and beyond to make sure every dog in their care goes into the right home. Just because one sees an available dog and falls in love with it does not automatically mean your home is the right fit for that dog. Rescue is about the animal not the person. If I could give a higher rating I definitely would. Buffalo CARES is an amazing organization.
Me and my family got our beautiful dog Tilly from here. She was a foster. They are a great group who work so hard and are very tentative to where the animals are going to end up.
We had the best experience adopting a dog from BuffaloC.A.R.E.S. they made it very clear in their application process that they have the animals best interests in mind when placing an animal, in this case our dog. They made sure we had a good reference from our vet. They explained the health benefits to have a dog spade or neutered and really made sure we were a good fit for our dog as well as the dog being a good fit for us.They really have an extensive process to be sure the animals are being placed in good homes. It was a long process but it made the wait worth it knowing that we would end up with a dog that would be perfect for us.We love our dog and she really is the perfect fit for our family.Knowing the love they put into every animal they adopt out making sure all the animals are 100% healthy & they check referencee because they love their animals and they make sure they all go to great homes with loving families who take great care of their animals.I highly recommend going through BuffaloC.A.R.E.S to find your next pet 🥰
Paula and the rest of the staff with Buffalo C.A.R.E.S. Genuinely care about each of the animals in their care and take excellent care of the animals as well as the their new families by ensuring they’re settled in and doing well with their new homes even after adoptions.
I am writing to convey my profound disappointment and concern regarding the recent experience my mother had with Buffalo Cares Rescue Group. The way her application was handled has left us disheartened and disillusioned, and I feel it is crucial to share our perspective. After my mothers application, Buffalo Cares contacted our long-term veterinarian office for a reference. Unfortunately, the subsequent email my mother received indicated that her application would not be moving forward, implying that our veterinarian had provided a negative reference. This assumption is deeply troubling to us, as anyone acquainted with my mother knows her unwavering commitment to her pets.My mother has spared no effort in ensuring her dogs well-being, and this is evident through the substantial resources she invested in our family dog Lilys care. Between water therapy and multiple dental surgeries to alleviate dental issues, etc., my mother exhibited remarkable dedication to her pets health and happiness. Thus, the vague communication from Buffalo Cares left her feeling bewildered and distressed, implying that our veterinarian may have given an unfavorable reference.Upon sharing the email from Buffalo Cares with our veterinarian, she received a phone call from one of the doctors, expressing concern over the situation. The doctor inquired if there was anyone who could vouch for my mothers excellent pet parenting skills. Buffalo Cares actions have left my mother feeling rejected and inadequate, as if she falls short of their standards to adopt one of their rescues. What exacerbates this distress is the lack of transparency and clear communication from Buffalo Cares regarding the denial of my mothers application. Instead of providing an explanation for their decision, they cast a shadow of doubt on her veterinarians referral, which is unjust and upsetting. Furthermore, we learned that the potential reason for denial might have been due to MY dog Ralph not being neutered yet, a decision that was made based on the advice of our veterinarian to ensure his long-term health. Ralph does not live with my mother and only visits her home periodically. If this indeed influenced their decision, it would have been more respectful to clarify this directly. While we recognize the necessity of thorough application processes and acknowledge the volume of applications Buffalo Cares receives, this does not justify the issuance of blanket rejections without explanation. The time spent on a cursory denial email could have been better invested in providing a brief reason for the rejection, fostering understanding and transparency. The outcome of this experience has led my mother to reconsider her decision to adopt from Buffalo Cares. As someone who deeply values animal companionship and who has suffered the loss of our dogs Lily and Peanut within the past year profoundly, this is indeed unfortunate. We understand the importance of a stringent vetting process, but it should never undermine the worthiness of individuals who genuinely care for animals.Regrettably, we find ourselves compelled to seek adoption from alternative sources such as other local rescues, the SPCA and the Buffalo Animal Shelter, where we have found more open communication and a better understanding of the nuanced decisions surrounding pet care and adoption. Now that the initial sting and anger has subsided. We are left with genuine disappointment. My mother provides a loving and accommodating home to her pets, which anyone who knows her, knows extremely well.Thank you for taking the time to read this message and for your understanding. We sincerely hope that Buffalo Cares Rescue Group can take these concerns to heart, promoting clearer communication and maintaining the integrity of their mission.
Great Place very clean .No Smells! Animals seem to be happy with no fear!
They took our foster pup and found her a forever home. Great place that makes a difference!
It was more than a 5 star experience. Amazing kind volunteers!
Buffalo CARES works incredibly hard to help dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, guinea pigs, you name it. They thoroughly screen potential adopters and fosters. They dont just take the easy to adopt animals, they take animals that have severe medical needs as well.A+!!!!!
This place is so wonderful and very considerate of the animals and your time
Disability discrimination! 716 Paws too! I had to buy a puppy! Steal your money!
This dog rescue is the best by far. They take extremely good care of their dogs, and most importantly take care to ensure the families and the dogs are a perfect match when adopting.
This is who I got my Lilly from!
Great people
