Bark Avenue Pet Salon

We called to have our dog groomed and Megan was very friendly and helpful. She had a cancellation for the next day. We brought a shaggy fur baby in and 90 minutes later picked up a princess! Thank you!

My three cats can be quite feisty, esp one of them & these woman did a phenomenal job on all three!! I’ve found “our place” so as long as they are there we will be too, every 6mos. We used to have our vet do our kitties grooming & the most feisty would always have to get sedated, which I’m not a fan of, I cannot say enough great things about this place, and the price is well worth it. Thank you so much!!

***UPDATE: This is in response to the groomers response to my earlier review. She was sent an email of MY dog and I asked for an estimate for a full groom, which she gave me of $55. I then made an appointment, which by the way she entered into her computer with the wrong date. I came to her salon and told her I wanted her cut flush with her outline to which she responded, you want all the whisps gone? I said yes, flush with her outline. She said okay. So for her to now say I showed her a picture of a different dog? (I only have one) and to say I was vague about the cut, is ludicrous. She tried to charge a higher price because she is disorganized, unprofessional and a liar to boot. Just go there and you will see for yourself. Also, her salon looks nothing like the pictures online.Please be wary of taking your dog here. It was my fist time there and I was greeted by a very hostile woman with red hair and glasses, who was upset because I was a few minutes early. I chalked it up to maybe her being busy, but upon my return to pick my dog up, she was even nastier. She also tried to charge me a higher price than the one she had quoted me earlier and got mad when I asked her about it. She said, well, I guess its that price then and threw my card at me. Horrible, unprofessional way to run a business. As for my dogs groom? It was okay, some blending issues, but not too bad. Due to this womans attitude; however, I will never return.

The owner clearly has several issues to sort out. Immediately upon entry, we were rejected and accused of having my dates wrong. When I confirmed that there was no error on my end, but rather a scheduling mistake on hers, she became defensive, erratic, and downright nasty and disrespectful. It’s was the oddest scene. I wouldn’t recommend leaving your loved pet with this woman. I have never experienced such an interaction with a business owner.

My mother started this business with an old business partner. Megan joined her a few years later and signed a contract that entitled the executor of either of their estates to a portion of the business upon death. Megan is now refusing to honor the contract and will not even make an offer, instead waiting for me to take legal action to force her to honor the contract. She posted my mother’s obituary on their fb page just a few days after she died and then had the nerve to demand a death certificate from me to prove my mom died.0/5 stars for lack of ethics and a stolen business.

Absolutely disappointing! You only have one chance at a first impression, and she failed incredibly. Whomever the red haired groomer was we interacted with was so rude for absolutely no reason ! She snapped at us for being a few minutes early and made a show of huffing and puffing because of it. We were hesitant to leave the dog because of her demeanor, but tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. When we returned to pick Topolina up, she said the total was 65 and we mentioned her email quote was 55. She threw her hands up and said, Fine ! 55 then ! In the nastiest tone you could imagine. Topolinas fur wasnt even blended properly and theres a random tuft of hair hanging off the bottom of her tail. Will never return to this location and Id have to warn others not to either unless you want to be treated with blatant, unprovoked aggression and disrespect.

The owner is great. My cat and 130lb anatolian are treated so perfectly. The prices are super affordable and owner takes great steps to fit everyone in. Cant thank them enough

We brought out two cats here recently to get their nails cut. We had an amazing experience! We will definitely be going here again!

My dogs and cat are always happy and healthy after visiting Bark Ave! Baths, nails, teeth and haircuts at ridiculously competitive prices! Cant thank her enough!

The groomer was quick, kind, and did a great job grooming my 1.5 year old cat. It was his first time being groomed and she was very patient with Im and constantly praised him when he cooperated or stayed still. The price was fair and I will be returning next time he needs grooming.

We just had our Westie groomed there for first time. She had a bad experience at another groomer. Megan was wonderful. She let us come in early, and was so kind. Our dog is 12 and has some anxiety. We took her bathed already to eliminate some stress. She was done in less than 40 minutes. We are so happy. We will be going back.

Im here from out of town and my moms in the hospital. I called and they were not accepting new customers at this time. I explained that I just want to get my moms dog groomed for her she in the hospital and he needs help. My moms been sick and have not been able to care for him as she would. Shedecided to help me.Thank you so much for squeezing my moms dog Smoki in for me. She did a wonderful job on Smoki...I really appreciate you so much.

Prices are good and this grooming salon is easily found right off of Elmwood. Its a grooming salon and its clear that this is what they focus on. They dont petsit or do daycare but they do give a great groom for a good price. The hours are convenient and while it doesnt have a parking lot, Ive never had any problems finding street parking right at the shop. My dog sees Andrea, we followed her over from a previous grooming establishment when she moved. She is well worth it, I would recommend her to anyone.

We Love this salon! Im a retired groomer so Im pretty picky about someone handling my babies. Ive worked at the big chains and the small shops so when I couldnt groom anymore I knew I wanted to go to a small salon with a stress-free environment. They have a more personal experience here and I never have to worry about leaving them at an overbooked salon that does 50 dogs a day.

I followed our groomer when she moved to Bark Avenue. Its well located and obviously has very skilled groomers. Very reasonably priced and they have great hours. I have much more flexibility for appointment times at Bark Avenue than I had at our groomers last location.

My dog came home smelling and looking great! Her hair was shinier than ever and she seemed happy when she left which is not normal for her. Very reasonable prices as well.

The business owner always expresses great care and affection for my fur baby. Repeatedly stellar grooming experiences and the doggie does not resist entering the shop! (Still accurate)

I brought my Maine Coon mix in today who had some pretty big mats in her fur and I couldnt be happier with how she was taken care of! The groomer was so gentle with her and did a beautiful job. Definitely coming back!

Love Megan and this salon. If she can wrangle this 80 pound monster, she can do anything!

The 2 ladies were warm and friendly. It was our first time there. One ear is longer than the other. Hair in many places just looks chopped uneven patches that stick out.. so some good and some bad.

I have a really shy rescue pitbull, but Megan has always accommodated us for nail trimmings for the pup. What could be an ordeal, never is. Five stars.

The lady in the salon so sweet and nice and great with dogs also is great on price I have American Eskimo if you dont know he is a very long haired dog that need alot of brushing and she handled him very well

Excellent service. Brought my old cat in for a hair cut and fingernail clippings. He doesnt look nearly as ridiculous as I thought he would. Definitely recommend it!

Megan the owner is lovely! She took great care of my multipoo, Woody! He was a little nervous at first but she was very patient and kind, he warmed right up to her. I was very specific on what I wanted his cut to look like and she executed it perfectly, she did a fantastic job, he looks sooo cute! :)

Well, I must say that I am so impressed (with Megan and the Salon) relieved (to have picked up such a happy dog) and excited to have a new groomer for my BELOVED Sammy! The salon is fresh and new, clean and nicely appointed. There is a separate space for washing with a window. But the nicest part of the grooming experience I will call it ~ was the kind, sweet and nurturing demeanor of the owner/groomer-stylist, Megan. Just moved back to Buffalo after almost 30 years in Boston, and I am so happy to have this shop in my hood.
