Excellent groomer/grooming!They really are the best groomers in Astoria. My groomer there is kind and genuinely cares about the dogs and their coats condition. I’m a very specific person when it comes to my dogs hair styles and my dogs are not easygoing when grooming. BUT she takes her time with them and makes sure to follow every instruction I give them.When I was unsatisfied somethings they asked me to come back and they fixed the problem what needed to be fixed!Thank you to my groomer and the owner for being so kind to my kids and patient with me.(Pictures are of my kids thanksgiving photoshoot after their groom)

I’ve been getting my dog groomed here for over a year now. They do a great job and she’s come back from her appointment super happy. Getting an appointment here is also pretty easy.

The staff was very sweet and patient with my anxious elderly dog! Taking their time on her fur to carefully avoid nipping her skin tags. They also gave her the cutest summer cut, we’ll definitely be returningto this local gem!

Horrible! There is a dog left alone, shaking in the store at 10 PM with the lights out. Several people have tried calling and reaching out, but no one is responding. This is absolutely ridiculous, and you should be ashamed of treating this poor animal like this!

I love taking my 2 dogs here.The get treated so kindly and when I pick them up every time they have a new attire tie and a bow to make them look spectacular after their grooming! The communication with Claudia is great also front desk and they are quick to help , definitely best service I’ve encountered.

My cat finally got her first bath in life! It’s very hard to find a place really bathe the cat in the city. She was taken good care of. And thank you to sweet Claudia! We’re lucky to have such a lovely pet place in the neighborhood.

Got my dogs nails trimmed here. The front desk girl brought my dog downstairs or somewhere out of my sight which made me feel uncomfortable. Anyway my dog came back 20 minutes later with a bloody paw. I understand she must have cut too close to her vein but for that reason the young receptionist could have at least said Im sorry. There was no sorry nothing. Then I waited another 10 minutes. Again no sorry for making you wait. Nothing. Most awkward experience ever. Never again. I felt guilty for bringing my dog here.

We love this place. They’re great with your pet and truly take the time to get to know them. I know Harley is safe and having a blast every time we drop her off. Highly recommend their grooming, daycare, and boarding services.

This place is the best! We live right around the corner and bring our puppy here for daycare. Hes made some great friends, and is getting his social skill development in super early. They are also very good when it comes to dropping him off if we are stuck at work late. Would reco this place to everyone!

Took my 4 month puppy Rico here, and let e tell you they did amazing ! I asked if they could give him a teddy cut, shave his paws and clip them, with a good trim. They gave him exactly that!

This was my first time at Dog Planet. I am big on reviews and since this would be my first time of course I had to read them.. The reviews were so positive that I decided to make the appointment, and I am so GLAD that I did. The establishment is very clean and the staff is amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. They put me at ease, my dog at ease and they did an AMAZING job. I have an 85 pound Siberian Husky with a thick coat. I couldnt be more pleased.. I highly recommend this place.. their attention to detail, their professionalism, their extremely reasonable pricing for the job they do.. I cant say enough good things. if youve not been here, you need to go.. in a word, AMAZING!!

Brought my 6 year old Russian Blue cat for bath, cleaning of ears and nail cutting. They were so gentle and careful with my precious baby. I was so impressed with how they worked and am so glad I found them. The facility is spotless. All the dogs looked happy and well kept. Thank you for a job well done.

Update to my review: Please notice the owner’s response below. Exactly as stated in my initial review, she immediately denied this and claimed it did not happen. I have no message from her to ask about the incident, nor to ask if we have proof. She didn’t even take time to check for similar in the yelp reviews, because if she had, she would have seen the post there on this incident from when it happened. She just proved that she has no sense of responsibility or care for the dog, she only cares about denying the post. That type of lack of accountability is not a place that should be trusted with a family member.Original Google Review: Do not leave your dog here for boarding. They abuse dogs and the owner takes no accountability.I left my dog here quite awhile ago by now. When we picked her up, she was shivering and a panicked mess. Now, my dog has separation anxiety and we picked this place for boarding because they claim to have staff watch the dogs 24/7. That’s a lie. When we picked her up, they gave us back her carry case, which was chewed through. When we asked how that happened, they had no idea and could give us no explanation. What’s worse is we had to catch a flight that day, so had to buy a hideous bag from their shop for an extreme over priced amount to be sure she could be boarded.Anyways, we thought maybe another dog chewed the bag and she didn’t look physically harmed, so we left figuring we’d get it sorted later. It wasn’t until we were at the airport that we noticed the inside of her bag was covered in pee. She has NEVER peed anywhere like that (she is a prissy princess and would literally never…. She won’t even walk on wet dirt). When we looked closer at the broken bag, it was clearly chewed from the inside (you could see where she chewed it and where it unraveled).This HORRIBLE place locked her in her small carry case overnight, to the point she peed herself and panicked to get out. She is 11 lbs and takes hours to get through a tiny greenie. It would have taken her forever to chew through that bag.We called and left a message but didn’t get a response, so we left a yelp review. We had also met the owner and she seemed to really care about the dogs, so we didn’t want to file charges or a report at the time for animal abuse to shut her down, but we should have. I’m leaving this now because recently I got a new phone and saw messages in the Yelp app I didn’t see before….. the owner herself sent me messages denying any claim that the dog was mistreated. Claiming without any sort of proof “it didn’t happen” Had I seen that, I would have filed for animal abuse, because now it’s clear she does not care about your family member, only her wallet.The owner DOES NOT CARE about your animals. And if she doesn’t, then you can damn well be sure she won’t care if her employees do either. Do not let this place abuse your dog, take them elsewhere.

I have never had a worse experience at a groomers place than here. I read other people’s reviews and, I don’t know what it is about the mistreatment of a dog’s ears, but they did the same to my dog. They lie about the poor handling of your pet AND some people say all they care about is money… 100% true! Also, I’ve noticed you’ll write a bad review and all they do is reply to your bad review asking for your pet’s name, as if that’s relevant, as if that’s going to fix your pet. They also had me waiting 5 hours after telling me it would take 3 hours. The sad part is, you take your dog there to get a hair cut, to look better, but you come back home with a pet in worse condition. Either your pet is bleeding (which also happened to my dog) or your pet is shaking and traumatized from how they were treated. I’m never ever taking my dog back to this place and I will bad mouth them to everyone I know.Response to the owner:I rarely, if ever, respond to nonsense, but I will this one time because I deeply care about dogs especially my own. I can assure you I’m not a fake account or competitor. I WAS a regular customer who went to your business twice and the second time was atrocious. I agree they are live moving animals but I am also not paying $100 to get my dog’s ear cut and bleeding! For hours! And there was no consolation from you or your staff except to say bring your dog back if she bleeds. Why? So you can traumatize her even more! I hope people see what a terrible business you have there.

To begin with I went off a friends recommendation I honestly didn’t think twice because it was also their first time and they toldMe that they had an Good experience I should’ve known better though for the sake of my dog Luna. I took her this recent Friday December 16 to get groomed I knew she was matted to begin with so I knew they have to go lower than I’d wanted and I was okay with it as long as my dog wasn’t uncomfortable. As I come to find out a day later as to why my dog is so fidgety and keeps hiding is because these people infected her ear never has this happened before and she’s been matted before and the place I had been taking her have done an excellent job so my recommendation to you is PLEASE DONT GO

Took my 12lb chihuahua mix here for her first local haircut. She is very shy and a very nervous dog. They handled her extremely well, and the woman at the front desk was extremely reassuring and kind even though my dog’s behavior I imagine isnt ideal. Her cut was perfect and they even gave us a cute festive necklace for her. She looks great and we are super happy, will definitely be returning next time we need a trim!

Good haircut but my dog ended with a cut on his neck and I got told they couldn’t cut the nails but still charge me 90$?!Decent place to take your dog for a grooming service but they took a lot of hours…and I’m not happy with the neck cut my dog got.

This place is the absolute worst. I took my dog here for the 3rd time and usually they say it’ll take 3 hours for her to be groomed. When I dropped my dog off, they said 3 hours again. After 3 hours, I decided to go there and wait, assuming they’d be finished anytime soon. However, they kept telling me my dog would be finished in 15-20 mins. I didn’t get my dog back until 5 hours later. I’m usually a very patient person so I waited and waited. Finally, when they brought my dog out, they “claimed” she had a brush burn on her ear which, at the time, wasn’t bleeding, so I believed them. On my way home, my dog’s ear started bleeding and when I got home I carefully inspected it and realized they had sliced off a piece of skin from her ear. It was so bad, that 3 weeks later when I took my dog to the vet (for unrelated reasons) the vet noticed the scar and asked about it and, of course, I told them the groomers cut her ear. We’ve made SEVERAL attempts to get an apology and a partial refund from the owner who dismissed and ignored us and when we said we wouldn’t be repeat customers anymore, she said she’d give us half of what she charged back to us, but it’s been about a month and we still haven’t received anything. And what makes me mad, is that I gave them about a 25% tip when they absolutely didn’t deserve any for cutting my dog’s ear and then trying to cover it up. Now I know why they made me wait 5 hours! I highly recommend do NOT go to this groomer.

Ive gone there with my dog a couple of times. The first few times, they were perfect but the last two times have been less than stellar. So much so, I am considering Dozo Dog nearby.The first time, I asked for have my dogs fur to be cut really short as she gets really hot and I prepping for the summer. The receptionist literally fought me on this until she gave in. It was unprofessional and left me wondering, why I was arguing with the receptionist on what I want MY dog to look like.This latest time, I was told to come pick up my dog at 4 PM after dropping her off at 1 PM. I arrive and I had to wait 25 minutes to actually get her. When I asked why it took so long, they claimed she was a nervous dog--implying that she was difficult. Which is BS considering my dog has always done well there before. She tried to feed me some company line about they are striving for the best because she sensed I was a little annoyed by their lack of professionalism.I wont be coming here again and I will be trying Dozo.

I havent taken my dog since early winter after an incident involving his ears. Seeing that the most recent review mentioned ear infections, I figured itd be worth mentioning that my dog literally came back home with almost complete hearing loss after his grooming. Thankfully, his hearing returned after a few weeks, but I promise you he was perfectly fine before he went here. I was surprised too because Ive taken him here once before, and he was totally ok, so Im not sure if maybe they were to rough on his ears, or something else mightve happened.When I went to pick up my dog after his appointment (which 3 hours is really a long time for a grooming — both times it took almost 3 and half hours), the cashier mentioned that he had an ear infection. The problem with her claim is that I LITERALLY took my dog to the vet the day before his grooming for a checkup, and the vet mentioned NOTHING about his ears (he even checked them!). It felt too convenient of a thing to say, especially since he came back home and did not respond to any sounds whatsoever. Whether it was me calling his name, or shaking a bag of treats, nothing got his attention.I took him to the vet two days later to see what was going on. After checking his ears and doing an extra cleaning, they said that he had no signs of infection. Which make me even more suspicious of what couldve happened during his appointment. Even if it was an honest mistake while they were cutting his ears, it wouldve been nice to know that instead of getting a vague answer that ended up being blatant lie.I dont want to be too harsh on this grooming place because I did have a great experience the first time around. But, its really scary when your dog comes back home after spending several hours with strangers, and theres something wrong with them. If you do plan on taking your dog here and he/she has any sensitivities or issues, definitely make it clear to the person you speak to at the front desk. Personally, Im never taking my dog here again after this horrible experience.

My dog just went to Dog Planet to get a full grooming and me and my mom think they did great! The new owners are amazing, and so are the groomers. I like how they don’t qeep any secrets of what the place looks like and where they groom the dogs and keep them for boarding and daycare. They even gave us a tour of the store! They also really improved the look of the store because to be honest it was a little bit of a wreck with the other owner. I really recommend you come for dogs AND cats. Thank you for your time.

Do not go here! You pet and your wallet deserves better. Read on for more.I recently had a very negative experience at this place. The staff do not communicate well. They not only signed me up for additional services without actually doing what I initially asked them. I took in my 35-lb border collie mix for a face trim and clipping, them was coaxed into grooming package. Then I received a call asking if I wanted a fur bath. I said them to go ahead and just take care of everything. After I picked up the dog, didn’t seem to have gotten any grooming done at all, just a bath. On positive note, the Furminator bath was well done.I called the place again explaining the issue and was asked to schedule a second appointment. The front desk person didn’t even apologize for the mix-up, kept arguing and charged me additional fees. I returned with dog for a small trim work behind my dogs ear and tail, and was charged 27 dollars unapologetically. While I dont mind paying for the appropriate services, I was appalled at their customer service especially after the inconvenience of taking two afternoons off my busy schedule as a physician. I am quite sure they will use this only space to continue to be argumentative about their service - which is not a great way to do business.

We left our 5 month old Golden Doodle here for a week while traveling and Beatrice took the best care of our boy. I was anxious to leave him for the first time but she sent me texts with pics and videos multiple times a day and was in constant contact! My dog seemed really happy and well taken care of when we picked him up and seems like he had a fun week at Dog Planet!! Thanks so much!

Amazing place with very friendly staff. They handled my dog with great care. He’s old going on 14 years old and has bad arthritis on his hips. He can get a little aggressive but the groomers at Dog Planet handled him with a lot of patience. I will definitely be retuning!

We were nervous being away from our recently adopted cat for 2 weeks while traveling for the holidays, but were put right at ease when leaving her at Dog Planet. It was clear that she received high quality care, and we were thrilled by the photos and videos we’d receive while away. Definitely recommend if you’re looking into boarding options in Astoria!

Completely unprofessional! This is the second time my dog has came back to me with an ear infection. The first time I thought the groomer mishandled him since at that time it was a different groomer. This time around I stuck to the same groomer who’s name is Claudia and I specifically asked them (the person in the front) to be careful with his ears. After 5 hours of still them not being done ( I understand it’s the holidays but it shouldn’t take more than 3 hours) I was the one that called them for them to tell me he’ll be ready in 5 minutes when they’re suppose to call you 10 minutes before your pet is ready. I have still yet to hear back from them. It’s been a day and a half with me calling them constantly to find out what happened and no response from them.

Be aware of this location! DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE! They abuse dogs!! My dog was scared and shivering after leaving this place from boarding!They don’t know how to deal with dogs. They are just money hungry. My dog didn’t want to eat for 2 days I am assuming they didn’t feed my dogs schedule. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!

Ive taken my Toy Poodle Disney here twice so far. They truly care for all of the dogs in their care. I have only used the grooming services, And they always do a great job with my little Disney. They are very patient and Professional.

They take exceptionally good care of my 70 lb golden doodle, she is stunningly beautiful every time I pick her up. Its her favorite place in the world, cant walk past there without her getting excited shakes.

Pomodoro the Maltese had his very first haircut here and came out looking great! We love his new bandana and saw how happy he was from start to finish! They couldnt do a full cut because he was getting anxious, but they achieved the look we were going for, and we really appreciate that they stopped early instead of pushing him to do more than hes comfortable with.

My dog Finnley comes here for day care and I feel confident that she’s very well taken care of. The place is clean, the owner is very friendly and patient with the dogs and keeps close eyes on the dog. It’s also close to the subway station so makes it really easy to drop off/pick up on my way to/from work. Highly recommend!

Please do not take your pet here . The reviews about the ear infections are true. This establishment only cares about $ and not your pets well being. This place seems like it has good intentions, which is what I thought since it looked nice . They are not afraid to make your pets suffer but pulling their leash so hard they come back wheezing.

Our dog Truman has been going to daycare at Dog Planet since they opened. He loves going and will even stop to say hi when we walk by on days he isn’t staying there. Claudia is very nice and helpful. She is easy to reach and very accommodating. I don’t have to worry about Truman when he is there I know he is in good hands.

I can not recommend Dog Planet enough. We leave our dog, Gloria, here when we travel and she is always well taken care of. I have such peace of mind knowing she is in good hands. There are constant picture and video updates and she always comes home smiling from ear to ear. Claudia and her team are amazing!

Terrible dog grooming. I drop my dog off at 12 pm and pick up at 5 pm. Owner doesn’t even let me cancel the grooming and try to charge me $160 for terrible service

First I will start by saying that I left my dog at 3 and he was ready at 8!!! I have a small Pomeranian and it’s the second time they ,not only cut his hair short but also disproportionate with his head. The thing is that I was specific and showed them a picture of the haircut that I wanted for my dog but they somehow managed to make his haid look even smaller than the body.

Dog Planet is my go to grooming Spa for my toy poodle Sophie. Sophie is always excellently groomed and in good spirits when picked up which shows she enjoyed her time at the Spa.Thanks to all the amazing staff for making my princess look even prettier every time she has a Spa day.

Make sure to confirm pricing before you drop your pet. Unfortunately, I paid a LOT more than what I originally thought I was going to spend. I checked the pricing on the website but I was told those were “last week’s prices”…. grooming was good, but really expensive.

I took my dog for grooming and Champion came out looking like a show dog. They were excellent I certainly recommend dog planet has a beautiful a beautiful setting and friendly service..very decent place close to Athens Square.

OUTSTANDING DAYCARE!!! I brought my dog here every week day for daycare for months; until I just recently moved out of state. Ive used several different daycares for my dog over the years and this one is the best by far. They take your dog on 3 walks throughout the day AND provide pick up and drop off services when needed at such an affordable rate. Meanwhile, the daycare owners and other employees who work here are SO loving to all of the dogs. They even dressed them all up for Halloween!! I always had complete peace of mind when I dropped my little guy off here. I could not have been happier with the services provided.

Pupppy came out clean and well groomed .very friendly staff. Ne prepared to wait for hours. ! They have to book less appointments or hire more professionals to handle work load. Nice work ! Would recommend
