Our pup has had a great experience boarding at Tails of Success. More importantly perhaps, we feel good about leaving her there! The staff is extremely friendly and responsive, answering all our questions about boarding and texting us updates so we know how shes doing throughout her stay. We took Real Life Manners class there last summer, which was very worthwhile. This is a lovely place for dog community and were excited to be starting with Daycare as well!
Zeus has boarded twice now. The first time our flight was delayed and they gave no issue having him stay another night. It was a very smooth process. Both times boarding Zeus stayed 4 nights or more and came back great. I love that you can text and ask for picture updates of our pup. The staff have been friendly and it honestly was a smoother process for boarding getting set up than larger organizations. The facility is clean and I like seeing similar staff there. I also met the manager this time who was very nice. Boarding has been phenomenal and has allowed our family to finally vacation after 5 years. Pics below of Zeus boarding.
Tails of Success is great, whether you and your dog are taking a class or your dog is attending daycare. All the staff and trainers are very professional and nice. My dog and I have been coming here for training/daycare for several years and every interaction has been great. They truly care about the animals and people they serve and it shows!
Tails of Success is a great place to bring the kids! They get sooooo excited when they know were close and they cant wait to get inside and back to play with the other dogs! I love how they post pictures online so we can see them having fun with their friends, and theyve always been very accommodating if I need to switch a day for a given week, or need boarding. The fun report cards and events around the holidays are also a nicety for both the pups and the parents! Im always at ease knowing the dogs are in good hands when theyre at Tails! Thank you! :)
My pup loves going to daycare at tails of success, training class was also really good. Shes excited and happy to be there every time so I know they treat her well
We have really enjoyed the basic training classes at Tails of Success. Hope is a great instructor and makes classes a lot of fun for the doggies and the humans! We enjoyed the classes so much that we have continued with them up to level 3 (I think there are 4). We have learned a lot and have found the homework helpful (especially with “leave it”).We have also been pleased with their boarding services. They have every dog complete a one night overnight stay to ensure that they are appropriate for a boarding (which I really appreciate)! We received a lovely “report card” from the initial overnight, which I felt was really thoughtful written. It seems like they took the time to make sure our doggie was appropriate for a stay and happy there, which it seems like he was!I have been very happy with Tails of Success and Hope and have highly recommend it to neighbors, friends etc!
Hope is truly a dog whisperer. Our delightful, but naughty puppy has made great progress taking puppy levels 1 & 2. Were excited to start level 3. All I can say is these classes give us Hope that our puppy will advance to Good Canine Citizen.
I board my dog here and he absolutely loves it. While he’s on vacation, he gets to go to daycare and play with the other dogs all day and he has the BEST time. I’ve never seen him get excited like he does when we pull in here. But what’s even more remarkable is that he normally hates humans and gets anxious and scared, but he is seriously ecstatic to see everyone that works here. It makes me so happy to see this and it is a true testament to how great the staff is. Everyone is so nice and lovely to work with and they’re very responsive to check-ins. I am grateful to have found Tails of Success and it gives me peace of mind knowing that my dog is having a great time while I’m away.
My Australian Shepard/ border collie puppy Rosie just graduated from her first class and we learned so much and she even had a little playtime with the other doggies, now time to sign up for lever 2!
We love this place. We started off by bringing our Dog to training here after adopting a 6month old energetic dog with some bad habits. They were great for training and we loved how the staff treated our pup and the dedication they showed to their work.We started bring our dog to their daycare program here and there. Our dog always came home tired and with her tail wagging after many hours playing with her dog friends. When going away for vacation we elected to try out Tails of Success and their boarding program. They posted lots of photos while we were gone so we were able to see our pup playing happily with her friends.I also want to include how flexible they are. My wife and I were expecting a baby and they were able to keep a reserve emergency boarding spot available for her for when we went into labor and would be at the hospital. I cant tell you how much easier that made our lives these past few days.Easy 5 start review for a great establishment, caring workers, and all around wonderful dog people.
Our pup goes to Tails of Success for daycare, boarding, training and grooming and EVERYTHING has been wonderful! Its her favorite place to be!! We love them so much! 🫶🐶
We having been taking our pups to Tails of Success for over two years now, and have been very satisfied. They feel like family now and take such good care of our two dogs. We use them for weekly doggy daycare, boarding, and dog training, and are very happy with all three services! We especially love that they take pictures of the dogs during daycare and post them on their Facebook page - we appreciate getting to see our dogs so happy and playful. I am so thankful that one of my co-workers told me about them when we adopted our lab mix puppy. They aren’t the cheapest, but the price is worth it for the services we receive and the love they have for our dogs. Thank you Tails!
Tails of Success provides dogs and people with the highest quality of service and care and is truly a family atmosphere. When I drop my dog off for daycare I know she is safe and stimulated-she gets excited before we even get in the door! The Tails staff interact with her as she plays with her furry friends and post pictures of her adventures for me to check in on. When I pick her up at the end of the day I am warmly greeted, given a summary of her activities and take home a happy and well-exercised puppy. I highly recommend daycare, training and grooming at Tails of Success and have been highly satisfied with all of these services!
I can’t say enough great things about Tails of Success! I’ve been bringing Maxey here for about 6 months and when I say “want to go to daycare”, she’s never been more excited. The staff is awesome and I always look forward to the pictures they post of her on FB. I’d highly recommend!
When looking for a place to board my dog, I was nervous. Tails of Success did not disappoint! We went away for the weekend (my first time ever leaving my dog with strangers in the 8 year I’ve had her so I was very nervous) and I left at ease knowing she would be well taken care of. She was given treats and lots of play time and I even saw a pic on their FB page and my girl was happy as a clam! She had a spa day while she was there and when I picked her up she was clean and clearly content. I will be using tails of success as my first choice for boarding or daycare in the future!Their pricing was very fair compared to market prices and their facility looked very comfortable and fun for the pups! 10/10!Thanks Tails of success!!
We have been going to Tails for almost 3 years now. We use a variety of their services: daycare, classes, private in-home lessons, and we use the boarding program every time we go out of town. I trust Tails over anyone to care for my dog. The behavior classes have been really beneficial for us. When we adopted our dog she had some serious anxiety problems and they have virtually dissipated since we began working with the staff at Tails. The staff is very approachable with questions and they always take the time to talk to us. Their use of positive reinforcement training has really allowed us to effectively work with our dog. I dont know what we would do without them!
Took my puppy here for training and we LOVED it! I have a small English/French Bulldog mix. Staff are very friendly and helpful and really care about your pet! We always felt safe and comfortable. I think staff go above and beyond. We will definitely be signing up for level 2 training!
I heard about Tails of Success from a neighbor that brought their dog in for training. They raved about the trainers. They were 100% right. I have been bringing my dog Gigi there for 7-8 months and the trainers are wonderful! Gigi is just a year old and very excited all the time. Trainers Rich, Cam and Cassandra have been fantastic!!! They are all very knowledgeable about dog behavior and training. I even carry their business cards with me to give to people because Gigi and I have always had a great experience and I would highly recommend Tails of Success to anybody looking for a great dog training / day care for dogs!!!
My dogs and I LOVE Tails of Success! Sherri and staff truly care about every dog that walks through their doors. I feel comfortable leaving my dogs in their hands for daycare, and I trust in their training techniques. Sherri and Michelle are my go-to people for advice about dog behavior, training, and even everyday dog-related questions. My dog Nadia knows when we are in the parking lot, and gets very excited. When I pick her up, she is exhausted, and I feel good knowing she had a fun-filled day in a safe environment with knowledgeable staff.EDIT 2/25/13: I have been taking the Beginner Agility class at Tails of Success this winter, and I am very pleased with how its going. We take everything slowly enough to build confidence in the dog, but it never gets boring.
We love Tails of Success!! Our dog (Willow) first did a training class with Tails over the winter. The class was wonderful and Willow really enjoyed going every week. She learned how to better interact with other dogs and we leaned skills for loose leash walking. When we needed to board her for a weekend away Tails was an obvious choice. They treat her like family! She absolutely loves going and is like a different dog. She used to be scared and reactive toward other dogs and at Tails she loves to play with other dogs! She is also more calm at home and walks so much better on the leash. I obviously can’t say enough good things about Tails, but to top it off they went above and beyond when my family had a emergency they also made me feel like part of the family and did everything they could to help.
Tails of Success is an amazing, clean, friendly facility for educating dogs. I love it here, my Pitt/Lab Mix Asia has been a proud canine client since 2012. Her tails wags of excitement when I ask her: Do you want to go to Tails? Never a bad experience, and she has done daycare, training, weight pull and even agility. I also volunteer on a regular basis for their Fearful Fido classes where I utilize positive reinforcement skills to help dogs overcome their fears of people. The staff are her and my friends alike . Sherri Romig, Cameo Perry and the rest of the staff are caring, attentive, and truly care for my little girl. I trust them and I fully endorse this business! Thank you Tails!
I cannot recommend this facility enough. My dog has been going to daycare, training, and boarding here for about 2 years, and my experience has been nothing but positive. The daycare staff is friendly and helpful, and have worked with me on more than one occasion to accommodate my busy schedule. The hours are especially convenient. My dog always comes home tired and happy, and its always a treat to read her daily report card. As for the training staff, I have never met a group of people more committed to their jobs. They are extremely knowledgable, and will work with you any way they can to ensure positive results. Their boarding suites are much bigger than what Ive seen at other facilities, and I love that my dog has the opportunity to play while Im away. I love Tails of Success!
My dog Kodi is a 9 month old German Shepard & has completed level 1 real life manners training at Tails with their trainer Hope. We both loved the class & Kodi is much better behaved than when she 1st started. We are looking forward to moving up to level 2! Kodi also goes to daycare at Tails & comes home all played out & exhausted & ready to just snuggle up with me! Tails gives my dog a great place to have fun with other dogs & work off all of her puppy energy!!
I first met Sherri and Cameo from Tails of Success at an event. ( I was there representing an adoption center.) When I met them I admired their quiet nature. I signed up for my first dog training class that week. I couldnt have been happier with the results. The quiet kind people I met at the event are exactly what the classes are based on. No yelling, no zapping, no shoving, no forcing and IT WORKS!!! I was so impressed with them that I wanted them to teach me how to train like they do so I could help the dogs that lived in the shelter I worked at. I enjoyed the dogs, people and philosophy at Tails of Success so much that I came to work for them in the dog daycare and boarding departments. I have been nothing but happy since.
We have been bringing out
I love tails of success. The staff there is wonderful and very accommodating. My dog loves going to daycare and playing with her friends. She gets great exercise and lots of love. Ive taken a class there with my dog as well and they are great trainers. I highly recommend to all dog owners who are at work all day.
I had Cameo, one of the trainers from Tails of Success, come down to work with my Gus. Hes a rescue and has issues with anxiety and guarding, which have been impacting my house (peeing when Im not home) and my cats. Cameo has given me a number of great suggestions to help bandaid these issues in the short term, while we work together to heal these issues in the long term. Every suggestion she has given me has targeted the behaviors, and he has reacted just the way she said he would. Tails of a Success and Cameo have a natural-based approach, using positive behavior strategies. I talked with a number of trainers before deciding to go with them, and I really appreciate how well Cameo understands Gus, his background, and his emotional needs. She is helping to make my sweet boy calmer, as well as my whole household! In addition to the one-on-one sessions, we took a class at Tails and it was worth every cent! My Gus walks so nicely on leash now and before walks were a struggle! They helped us train him with an emergency word for when we need him to leave a dangerous situation (or stop chasing the deer and squirrels in my yard😆) immediately and it works every time! I can’t say enough about this business and the difference it made in my dog!
Fletcher and I LOVE Tails. The staff is so friendly and great with my dog. He loves going to school. He started in the small dog room and a puppy and has graduated to the big dog room. Everyday he is excited to leave in the morning and exhausted at the end of the day- he literally falls asleep in the back seat before I am even out of the parking lot some days. I especially love the report cards and facebook posts/pictures of the dogs. I recommend Tails to any dog owner.
We love doggy daycare at Tails of Success. We drop our dog, Fred, off one day per week and he absolutely loves it! He gets to socialize and run and play ALL DAY. The staff are all very friendly and it shows how much they care for our dog. The rare times when he misses a week there, it shows! He needs that day at doggy daycare to expend all his extra energy that he doesnt get to use up on long walks on the leash or playing in our tiny yard. Its affordable and well worth the money. Would definitely recommend!
Feel very fortunate to have found Tails of Success just when I was getting a new puppy. I have used both the play group and the classes and both my dog and I have a good time with each.Love using reward for positive rather than punishment for the negative. I have referred a few friends and we all have had a positive experience.Looking forward to the newer classes this fall on teaching tricks to my dog.
Tails has been the only place where I can take my reactive dog. The atmosphere is always so positive. The staff is always willing to help with whatever issue you may be having with your dog, whether its training, diet, communication, anything! We absolutely love going there, and its worth it just to see my dog light up when we pull into the parking lot. The rewards based training really keeps my dog motivated, and we always have so much fun.
I brought my Saint Bernard puppy to the Real Life Manners course and he loved it! The facility was really nice and clean and each dog had their own leash hook and training station. Hope, the trainer, is very knowledgeable and addressed any questions that we had. I would recommend this course to puppies and their owners!
My dog loves this place. We board her and do day boarding (away from other pups). She always comes home tired. We also used there training and Cami is amazing! This is one of the few spots in the area that offers a place for dogs during the day that you dont want in a daycare setting. They also are one of the few spots that dont need the kettle cough vaccination, which I really like! Weve been going to tails for about 2 years now and plan to continue!
Im currently writing this as my dog is napping after a long day at daycare. We originally started with Tails of Success as a way to train our new pup as first time dog owners. We completed 2 levels of training (starting level 3 shortly) and we are so happy with the results. The real life training is really paying dividends at home (make sure you do the homework) all thanks to our trainers Cameo and Dan!I never thought I would the person dropping a dog off at daycare but my mind was changed after a few training sessions. The staff are so caring and enthusiastic that I feel so comfortable dropping off my dog knowing hes in great care and going to have a LOT of fun! Check their Facebook feed for daily pictures and posts to see how your dog is doing during the day. Seeing our little guy pop up on their Facebook page is a great feeling while plugging away at work. Our pup comes home exhausted and happy.I really cannot thank the staff enough. They treat every dog as they would their own. We are so grateful for all the staff and the love they show Wally! ♥
OMG everyone in our house LOVES Tails of Success! You could even say our cat loves them because hes benefited from our dogs training too. In the Real Life Manners Level 1 class we learned all about positive reinforcement through clicker training. They taught us the basics and gave tips on how to expand on the foundational training when our pup is ready. Everything theyve taught us is useful. Hope is especially wonderful and patient working with fearful dogs.
What a fantastic find Tails of Success was for us! We brought our rescue, Jersey, to Tails of Success and couldnt be more happy with the results. They not only helped with obedience training, but also to address some behavior issues our dog had.The trainers pay close attention to every dog and their owners, offering specific advice and tailoring the lessons based on individual needs. No one else weve talked to handles behavior modification like these folks. They dont just care for your dogs, they love them like their own and are skilled at helping you to be a better parent to your furry friend. I have always felt respected by everyone there and am so glad that I found Tails of Success.
The groomer is awesome at Tails of Success. I boarded my Afghan hound recently and the dogs hair was matted. Missy suggested I have the groomer work on the dog daily during her 7 day stay so she wouldnt be too stressed. I gave permission for the groomer to cut out big chunks of her hair if she needed to. When I picked up the dog, her hair was perfect! She cut out a few matts and the rest she must have spent hours getting it perfect. I am very pleased with the result and grateful for the suggestion that the groomer work on her every day!
Amazing amazing… we’ve been using this daycare for several years. Our dog goes three times a week. We absolutely love it. Our dog loves it and the staff is wonderful!!! They are so attuned to our dog. We can’t say enough good things about it.
I love Tails of Success. Hands down, my go to for any kind of animal behavior related issues, and believe me- I am a first time dog-owner... I need all the help I can get! I have owned my pitt/lab mix pup Asia Marie for about three years now- and the staff at Tails have helped tremendously. They are knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely care about my pup and also myself. The whole science of positive reinforcement is truly an amazing concept- and it has worked wonders for my Asia Marie. For any kind of need a canine may have, whether its day care (Asia has made so many friends!) or some kind of weight pull/agility class (Asia has done both and loved it!) to helping fidos become unfearful.... Tails does it all. They understand dogs and their mindset and truly know how to overcome any kind of hindrance, and they put my mind at ease because I know that my pup is in good hands. I give Tails of Success my endorsement, and highest recommendation. You (and your canine companion) should check them out. I promise you wont regret it!
This place is absolutely amazing! The staff is so super friendly and helpful! We have a rambunctious chocolate lab puppy who with their help in their training classes has definitely learned good manners now lol. I wouldn’t trust leaving my little guy anywhere else but here because I know he will get the best care and love like he does at home. The owner is wonderful and very sweet, you can really tell all of the staff love their jobs too. The facility is very clean and very big. Overall a perfect stop for our furry family members!
I came to Sherri after taking my dog to a compulsion trainer whos training methods actually turned my dog reactive towards me. My dog was very fearful of people and was charging at the door when guests would come in and even bit someone. When Sherri came to my house for a private consultation she was so friendly and professional and to my surprise my dog wasnt as reactive to her entering my home as he was with the first trainer. The last trainer maybe observed my dog for less than five minutes before asking me to remove my dog from the room whereas Sherri never asked that I removed my dog at all- to my surprise after a few minutes he came up to her and gave her the biggest kiss and relaxed on the floor for the rest of the meeting! Sherri covers everything when first meeting your dog, making sure the dogs full history is taken into account before creating a plan to work through your dogs issues. After a couple of private sessions at my home, Sherri suggested I enroll my dog into the fearful fido class where we dealt specifically with fearfulness of people. It was so nice to be in a class with other people and dogs who were going through the same thing as we were and everyone including the staff were so supportive and helpful. They really do what they can to accommodate you and your dog so that they are successful. After completing the class and with continued work my dog is no longer afraid of people and enjoys spending time around guests when we have them over now.I really do credit Sherri for helping us work through his issues and helping me understand and communicate with my dog effectively. I honestly believe that if I didnt go to Sherri that my dog would have had to been euthanized if we had continued the force training. I am so grateful to have Sherri at reach for all my training questions.
The best in Rochester. They dont discriminate based on breed for any class or daycare slot. They give every dog a chance, and groom the owners to know how to better handle and care for their pups. Ive seen a huge difference just in the couple of months Ive been bringing my dog here. Would only recommend Tails of Success to Rochester residents.
Sherri and her staff were more than accommodating when my pups needed a few weeks of boarding at short notice. They even called to report on my the dogs wellness during their stay. Friendly staff, clean facility and happy pets. Thank you Tails of Success!🐕🐩💕
I am so impressed with the trainers at Tails of Success. Cameo and Dan were kind, patient and very responsive to both the owners and our dogs. I have a large puppy who can overtake me when he gets very excited and wants to play with one of the others. They really showed me ways to work with Bowie said n a way to distract him and calm him down. I appreciated that so much. I look forward to taking additional classes with them in a he future.
My pup had a great time here! Only downside is I’ve called several times, left voicemails and sent emails and never hear back! I don’t have time to stop in every time I plan to bring my dog.
I bring my pup to doggy daycare once a week and boy does he have a great time! He get so much attention, socialization and play time. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. When I pick him up, I even get feedback on how his day went. I am so happy that I found this gem of a place!! I trust them hands down to give the utmost best care to my pup 🤗
I have used Tails of Success for a multitude of their services. Their Fearful Fido class is priceless when it came to the amount of progress we saw in our dog, Solo. He is very fearful of people, but while doing the class he became much more receptive to strangers and seeing what goodies they had to offer him. We learned a lot of different games to play with him to help keep his confidence up around new people. We also took a dog through their Feisty Fido class for his re activity towards other dogs. The class, which my parents went through with Colt, was very helpful for them. They learned a lot about Colt and his body language and what he was trying to tell them when he was stressed out. Rich was a wealth of knowledge for my parents while dealing with issues they never addressed before. By the end of his class Colt was walking among the other dogs and my parents were able to watch his body language and adjust his situation accordingly.I have also used their training for my foster dogs with Pitty Love Rescue. Something that clients of Tails may not know is their extensive involvement with PLR and their dogs. Every week the trainers hold FREE classes for the foster dogs in Pitty Love. That alone says a lot about the company and the people who work there.I had a foster dog who often went to daycare with Tails. He always had so much fun and came home tired. The employees who supervise the daycare are very knowledgeable and are always watching the dogs to make sure they are having a good time and are not frightened or overwhelmed.Their educational seminars are also VERY helpful! When I was switching my dogs to a raw diet I made sure to attend the seminars to get more information. If you see any available seminars with Tails and their trainers definitely attend. They are so worth it!I have been involved with Tails of Success from when they were doing classes in the back if a pet store in Hilton (basic obedience... awesome class, but even better now!) to their 1st location and now their newest location. This is a company and a group of people fully committed to their clients and their dogs. And it doesnt stop when you and your dog leave the building ... The trainers are there to help and guide owners throughout their pets life.
My dog Bode attended daycare here once a week for about a year and loved it! He always came home happy and tired and made so many friends. The staff is so great and attentive—I’ve boarded him with them as well and always felt comforted knowing he was in good hands. The only reason we don’t go anymore is because we are moving to Texas! It was sad to say goodbye—we love Tails!
Early last year, I decided to adopt a 4.5 year old dog who was rescued from a puppy mill. I had taken my older dog to training classes in 1999 when he was a puppy, but had absolutely NO idea where to start with a dog whose only home had involved years of neglect while locked in a cage. I did my research and based in part on the many glowing reviews, I signed up Latte for classes at Tails of Success. Rich and Sherri taught me how to communicate with Latte--and Latte, in turn, learned how to sit, come when called, walk nicely on a leash and wait on her mat.I like that all of the training provided by Tails is positive and that the approach to teaching each skill involves a game where we take baby steps to make sure that the dog is always winning. I also appreciate the the staff at Tails is constantly seeking out and implementing new techniques and are not stuck in a rut with their skills. They understand that every dog is different.Ive also taken advantage of some of the other classes and seminars that Tails has offered. Pet First Aid helped me feel more confident about caring for my pets in a crisis, The Tellington Touch seminar was interesting and a great bonding experience for Latte and me. The raw and home-cooked food seminar was educational. And currently, Latte and I are part of the Rally Obedience class on Saturday afternoons. Weve only had one week so far, but she really seems to be enjoying it!Latte has also been boarding with Sherri when I travel and, from all reports, seems to enjoy playing with her little dogs, especially her friend Fox. I know that Latte is in good and caring hands when Im away.Tails of Success has so much to offer the dogs (and their people) in Rochester!
Going to Sherri and Tails of Success is without a doubt the best decision weve made as dog owners! We were first time owners who wanted a positive training experience for our Boston Terrier, dArtagnan. We would never go anywhere else! Weve participated in several classes and play groups, and we board our pup there as well.Tails of Success is competitively priced, the staff is amazing, and the service is above and beyond. Other places kennel dogs, but Sherri boards out of her home giving dArtagnan lots of supervised play and exercise. She even uses a Thundershirt if he gets too nervous. He always comes back happy and tired. I cant say enough wonderful things about the classes. Theres no doubt Sherri LOVES and respects dogs, but my favorite thing about her is how patient and knowledgeable she is with the humans! We learned so much and really saw incredible improvement in dArtagnans skills and attention. We just got a new puppy, Porthos, and we cant wait to get him started at Tails as well!
Great class! Absolutely recommend. Great bonding time and amazing techniques for you and your pup to learn. Teacher always makes sure you are getting everything out of it that you need and asks if there is anything else you’d want to focus on in every class. She’s amazing and we were always excited to go to her class!
We have been bringing our 10 month puppy to tails of success since she was only a couple months old. We utilize their daycare as well as do training 2x a week. Beyond being helpful they are also very accomodating to our schdule. We love everyone at tails of success, I love how loved my puppy is when she spends her days there. I also love how tired she is when I pick her up! A night with a sleepy puppy is PRICELESS. Lately I have been receiving a lot of compliments on my dogs behavior; how well she plays with other dogs, she comes when called and is simply obedient, even when around other dogs and people. For this I owe my thanks to Tails for training my fiance and I on how to positively reinforce her good behavior. I am a proud momma of a pitty puppy and I have gained much knowledge and confidence with my puppys trainging through the commitment and dedication of Tails of Success. I recommend (and have to many) the daycare and training classes to anyone... they have something for everyone!
Ive used this service in the past with very positive results but after today my husband and I decided, never again. At the time we dropped our two dogs off we informed the staff that wed be picking up the dogs a day earlier and were told no problem. Today we got them, as discussed, before 3 pm and were told wed be charged for the night. An extra $90 for absolutely nothing. Additionally we requested a nail trim for our dog but they didnt do it because he wasnt feeling it. Not sure what kind of groomer is unable to cut a dogs nails but between that and being charged the extra night were done with tails of success.
10/17/18I just got off the phone with Alex who told me that no tours of the facility are allowed before leaving my dogs with Tails of Success. I was told this is because they run their facility 24 hours a day and its too exciting for the dogs to have people coming through. Well, anyone who would leave their dog in a facility without first checking it for safety, cleanliness etc has to be out of their mind.Would you walk into the lobby of a daycare and drop off your child without touring it first? Even after checking with the manager, Alex told me a tour was out of the question. What are they hiding? This is not the norm despite what they may say. There are other boarding facilities in Rochester. Protect your pets because no one else will.
Very welcoming, caring and friendly staff. Our dog enjoys his daycare time. We have had a good experience with boarding as well.
Tails of Success was fantastic. It was a large group of dogs but they provided ample space and a surprising amount of personal attention and interaction during training sessions. The facility itself is clean, spacious and easy to get to with great parking.
I love tails of success. I would not be able to handle my high energy dog without their help! Minnie goes to doggy daycare at TOS a couple of days a week and I also board her here without worry. The staff is awesome!
We have been going to Tails for several years now and love working with everyone there. They work with positive reinforcement methods. My high anxiety dog loves going there and they do a great job with him when he is boarded there.
I have taken both of my dogs to tails and had great experiences. I agree with their no force approach and always learn something new in class, The dogs love going there and so do I, so be sure to consider tails for your pup.
Our puppy seems to love it here! He gets excited each time he gets dropped off. Hes also very tired the rest of the day after bringing him home which tells us hes doing a lot of playing with friends. Highly recommend as this is also great socialization for a puppy!
Tails of Success has been an incredible help to me. I have been working on training my dog to be a service dog, and they have been nothing but flexible, accommodating, and patient. My pup absolutely loves being there!!
I boarded my dogs at Tails of Success for 4 nights; this was the first time I have ever boarded my pups. After researching several boarding kennels in the area I decided to go with Tails of Success because their location was convenient and, though they were a bit pricier than other kennels, they seemed reputable. I came to this conclusion because they had 29 positive reviews on the internet.Unfortunately, I did not care for them. My initial communication with one employee via email was great. The person was helpful and answered all of my questions prior to making a reservation. To hold my reservation, I had to provide my credit card number. I called the kennel to do this and asked for the person I had been in contact with. The gentleman, Rich, on the phone sounded flustered, disorganized and surprised that I had information prior to speaking with him. I figured I just caught him at a busy moment, He took my info down and said I was all set; I was not given any other instructions.I had arranged (in writing) to drop off my dogs at 8am on a Sunday morning. No one arrived at the location until 8:40 am. At this point I had been waiting in my car in the parking lot calling every number I had available for the shop employees with no answers. The reaction I got from the staff was a flustered reaction and with no apology. Instead, I was questioned who I had spoken to and they insisted that they didnt open until 8:30. Then, when I checked my dogs in I was asked to provide dog food. Silly me, I honestly didnt know I needed to bring food. My dogs have no special needs, nor was I instructed to do so on the phone or via email, nor did the website say this was necessary. I guess I should have considered this but I was a first time dog boarder so I simply didnt know. Rich, the employee, tossed his hands up and said well what are they going to eat? Additionally, when he asked who I had spoken to on the phone about the reservation, I told him Rich. He responded with well I would have told you to bring food. I begrudgingly went to Walmart nearby to pick up food to bring back to the shop. I chose a brand my vet recommended. I saw off my dogs and went on my vacation with no confidence that they were in loving hands but I had no other options on a Sunday morning.Upon pickup, I was told that my dogs were terrible walkers and that I should try feeding them a different dog food to make them less hyper. This commentary was given in a critical manner, not a constructive manner. I realize we had gotten off to a bad start but I just paid this man a few hundred dollars to watch my dogs. Whether my dogs are trained to his standards or not is not what I paid him for. He then told me to feel free to come back for dog training.I was a first-time customer to Tails of Success and most certainly a last-time customer. I felt they were disorganized, judgmental and were unable to problem-solve. I did not trust them to care for my dogs and will not return to them.
Very professional and too great care of our dogs. Prices seemed higher than advertised, esp since we came back a day early. Nice sized community center for dogs to play.Update: wont use this place again. I was charged for a full day and overnight when we called back immediately and said we would change the date to a day earlier and told the receptionist on drop off day. We simply gave the wrong date and misspoke. We even came back at 3 instead of 7 as we originally planned due to this being the cut off time to not be charged. The place had no problem charging my credit card over the phone for a non refundable deposit but wouldnt budge on not charging us for a night that we arent using and they knew we wouldnt be using. 3 nights ended up costing us $390.
My dog loves coming here for doggy daycare. I always feel comfortable and safe leaving her knowing she’s in good hands. She comes home tired and happy! Very clean facility and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
After looking at a few training/boarding options in this area I have to say those that have an issue with the cost and have stated they have never boarded must not realize the cost of the insures one must carry fir a business like this. Think about your house insurance when you tell tgem you have a certain breed! Also cleaning, utilities etc.My experience in looking for boarding price can range from 50 up to 140 per day. Now if you opt fof the 50dollar guy dont expect the 140 facility, just saying. This business has replied to 90%of comments both good and BAD and has detailed accounts of ever pet in question, to me thats amazing!
We used tails years ago for some training classes with our pup. They are awesome! Everyone is very knowledgeable and so helpful and nice! Would recommend (and do recommend) to anyone!
I know Ive given a review before, but cant seem to find it. Anyway, our experience there with our adopted fur baby was not pleasant. Turns out they were just putting him in a room which was later confirmed by an employee. Made me sick to my stomach. Our dog will NEVER go there again!! If you love your pup, DONT BRING THEM HERE!!!
I attended the Tails of success classes and was very disappointed with class structure and intructors inexperience. Class content did not prepare the handler and dog for CGC Advance for which I was told would prepare us for this by the owner. It was a class of Mish mash of dogs no matter what level you were at....The cost is overboard and does not include any testing.
Far and away the best dog daycare and training facility I have ever experienced. The only place we have brought our dog since moving to Rochester. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, great folks that really get to know your dog .
We loved our experience at Tails of Success! Our instructor, Hope did an amazing job! We will be able to continue to build on what we learned in our classes for years to come.
They have been great with our puppy and offer the ability to adjust days. Staff is friendly and great with the dogs. Manners training has been a good experience and help.
A home away from home. Cant get better! Andrew, now 5yrs old, has been going to Tails of Success since he was 4mo. He loves playing with his friends and interacting with the staff. He goes to day care every day and boards now and then. Couldnt ask for more!
The staff at Tails has been the most valuable connection in my dogs life! They are well educated in the area of dog behavior.
Meh. Their entire training is based on you blackmaling your dog with food. I guess I get it but now I cant get my dog to do ANYTHING unless he gets paidThis place is great as long as you are able to carry a spoon of peanut butter everywhere you go.You go there, pump your dog full of peanut butter til they hurl, and do the same 3 excercises every time.Waste of time and money. Do not recommend unless you are Edward Peanutbutterhands. 0stars.
They have a great doggy day care and they always take great of my dog when we board her with them. Friendly staff and worry free for me. Highly recommended
Staffs are very friendly, gives me update on how my dog is doing. Place is accommodating with schedule changes
I liked the training instructor we had, but when I get a call 4 months after I finished training saying I owe $51, that doesnt leave me with a good taste in my mouth to bring my dog back.
Had a great experience! Drop off and pickup was very easy, and our dog came back healthy, tired, and happy.
We love Tails of Success! You can tell they really care about their customers and their pets.
Im so grateful for the services and attentive staff at Tails of Success! Ive unexpectedly needed regular boarding this summer and struck out with many places first. The process has been such a breeze and the staff are so friendly. I love the responsiveness and especially that you can reach them by text -- this is super helpful!
The people working here could not be more kind, and my dogs love going here!
Wonderful and patient trainers!! We love bringing our dog in for training.
We took level 1 training with our 1 year old adopted pup. Hope was our trainer and she was amazing!! Like most pups our girl has a hard time focusing, but we had so much fun at the training sessions and received such knowledgeable feedback and instruction that we were able to go home every week with plenty direction to continue practicing. By the final week of our level 1 course our pup was calmly laying by our side and focusing on her tasks. Hope had several strategies for all of our tough questions, we felt like we were in great hands.Highly recommend, thanks Hope!
Our Louie loves it there and we feel confident that he is always well taken care of and loved while we travel. 🐾
Everyone there is incredibly friendly and helpful and caring. The training has been so good for my dog!
Listen, I dont know that much about that place but if you are rude and huffing and puffing about questions I ask over the phone.... I can only imagine in how your going to treat my dogs....smh!!!!
Not very helpful with our boy. He has great separation anxiety issues and he was not handled well. He came back smelling of urine and had some fur missing. We only left him for 7 hours this was his 4 th visit. Was told his nails would be trimmed and were not. I had signed up for another day but changed my mind and couldn’t get a refund days in advance. This place is all about the money and not. My boy Oscar.
We adopted our dog approximately 3 months before having to board him, so we were a little nervous. Sherri was accommodating and calmed our nerves. We have a reactive dog who had been used to quarantine the past few months, and she was able to handle him and took good care of him. We checked in on our dog a few times and she was quick to respond and was extremely helpful. We will definitely book with Tails for Success the next time we need to board our dog!
We love the work that Tails has been doing with our dog. We have done group lessons, private lessons, and home visits. We have seen a marked improvement in our dogs behavior and responsiveness to us. I would highly recommend Tails to anyone who is looking for dog training. We are looking forward to trying out some of their additional classes to keep our dog healthy and active.
We took our puppy here for training and had a great experience! They were very COVID friendly as well. Highly recommend!
Love taking my dog to daycare here. He knows on Friday mornings where hes going and will sit at the door until its time to leave. Occasionally we get report cards which are ardorable and when he sits still long enough he shows up on Facebook which as a crazy dog Mom is appreciated. Weve done a little training here as well. The class sizes are perfect and the trainers are very helpful and knowledge. I highly recommend tails to any of my friends
I first emailed about information and it took a few days to get a response. I was directed to call. Called a few times and no one answered. My boyfriend called and left a message. Never got a call back. Well be going elsewhere. Apparently they dont need the business. 🤷♀️
Great place, amazing and understanding staff enzo loves going ❤ I will always highly recommend tails of success
Great place with great staff! My lab loves going there. I highly recommend this place!
Our husky Sky just loves this place and so do my wife and I.
My dog Libby is very scared and shy. Tails of Success has done WONDERS for her! She has come out of her shell and really enjoys the workers, as well as the other dogs there. I was nervous leaving her at first, but the staff has been nothing but great and gives me updates on how she is doing!
I love this place! My dog loves to go to daycare at TOS and I always know she’s being taken care of when I drop her off. I wouldn’t bring her anywhere else.
Great staff and clean facility. The folks at Tails of Success genuinely care about dogs and it shows in every interaction.Highly Recommend!
Working with the staff at Tails has been fantastic both with the dog we adopted and out current foster dog. They have been great at helping to work through some behavior issues we encountered during our fostering experience and continue to be patient as our foster dog continues to learn and trust others. I highly reccomended Tails of Success to any one who is in need of any sort of training from basic obidience to trying to solve behavior issues with their pets!
Love everyone at Tails, they are great with my four legged baby and we have taken several classes there, agility basics was fantastic and a really fun way to bond further with your dog.
Our experience at Tails has been great! When we adopted Axl in the fall of 2012, we already knew he was a well-mannered young boy but we wanted to continue his training and learn ourselves. We went from an un-focused and playful puppy while in class, to a determined learner THEN playful pup.We completed a 3 month program and were very happy with the results. Their methods are easily transferred for extra practice at home.Axl also participates in Saturday play groups and doggy daycare. The staff at Tails makes us feel comfortable that he is safe and taken care of while he is visiting. We also love seeing pictures of him playing with his friends once in a while!
Only reason I am giving it a 2 is because the staff was nice. They lied about services provided, dog came back with cuts in his legs ..we understand dogs are not careful creatures.. But when asked them about cuts they said they didnt know anything and we counted 4 cuts on 3 paws and were obviously healing when we got him home (was there for 11 days). Also talked to them several times before we brought him in, never mentioned an interview process ( we wouldve done it before we left) for day care ( plus only told us afterward it wouldve been an additional $10 a day- not mentioned anywhere). Said my dog had anxiety and didnt pass for dog daycare.. My dog is 5 and we have had him 5 years and he has been in many other dog care places and never had anxiety before.. I saw other reviews saying the same.. So either the facility or staff gives them anxiety, or they arent being properly evaluated. Please be careful if you are lead to board or use dog daycare here .. Felt like they were used cars salesman , everything sounded promising .. But end result were way less than promised.
My doggy Winston loives it here and the staff is very friendly and always accommodating
This place is simply amazing and the only place I would trust with my dogs!!
Our dog, Finn, goes to daycare there and he loves it!
Great place to train your dog with positive reinforcement!
My dog came home with numerous lacerations on his front paws. When talking to the owner about this - he basically called me a liar even though I sent him photo documentation. Animal abuse or neglect is unacceptable. Too many complaints to even list on a google review, but bottom line is that we will never come back, dog owners beware.
My dog absolutely loves this place and the staff is so nice!
My dog absolutely loves it at Tails. The staff are friendly and treat each dog like part of their family.
