My partner and I came in and explained what kind of cat we are looking for. We found one and fell in love with him. We filled out an application and started looking for new supplies we’d need for the cat. We were both so excited but were called the next day saying someone had actually already adopted him and it’s first come first serve. That’s fine but we met with 3 employees and during our half hour of sitting with the cat no one mentioned he was already taken.
We adopted Stevie just over a year ago. When we took him to his first visit he had an ear infection and something else which required meds. I called the adoption network to let them know incase this was an issue for other cats. When I went to get Stevie from the vet all the meds were paid for. I was very surprised to find the adoption place called and took care of them. They were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. I will adopt from them again.
Tried to be 1st time volunteer foster to feral mom n her kittens found in my backyard. Pet Adoption network made it very unpleasant experience.
My boyfriend and I had a great experience adopting from Pet Adoption Network! We now have a beautiful kitty friend for our current cat. The shelter is open weekends but we met with a foster at her house on a weeknight and she was very friendly. After we submitted our application the foster kept in contact and as soon as the kitty had received some extra vet care she was ready to go home with us. It was nice PAN took the time to be sure the kitty had all additional vet work done before she was adopted. It was also helpful that the fosters are willing to meet outside of regular adoption hours since not everyone is free weekends. Overall it was a great experience and we appreciate all the hard work PAN and the fosters are doing to help improve the lives of homeless cats.
I have had two experiences so far with this adoption center, which werent good so I would not recommend them to anyone. The cat I wanted the first time was a bonded pair which wasnt stated on the website which they rarely update. At that time I could only get 1 since it was my first time owning a kitten/cat.Then since I didnt have another cat I was denied another cat I wanted/settled for because the person said I couldnt handle a kittens energy which makes no sense because Im in my early 20s so there was biased there definitely since I didnt have a cat before. The lady also complained about the kitten since she is in her 80s which is another biased and very selfish since they also dont allow older adopters to adopt younger kittens and cats since they think they will outlive them which is age discrimination and I will be reporting them about that as well. Now on my second attempt to adopt a kitten/young cat from them I inquired about a kitten named Diana and basically the person J*lie there told me about another cat and not the cat I wanted because Mew loves to run and play and has been roughly handled by a couple of the adult cats here, so she might be a good fit since I said I wanted to get another kitten. I find it weird that she basically ignored my request for one cat just to suggest another cat without explaining why. I applied for Diana not Mew so why tell me about them in the first place?I have been noticing a trend in a lot of Rochester adoption centers to be in favor of Non-POC adopting their pets as well so I feel like I was also denied because of the color of my skin. I have a cat now named Hiro who I was able to adopt from a center almost 2 hours away but it was worth it and I love him so much. He is 1 and really calm and playful. I just wanted to get him a friend but I will try somewhere else that isnt political and gives you the run-around to adopt a cat.
This was my first experience with attempting to adopt a kitten, and it was not a positive one. We were the first people to see the kitten of choice and but were denied because they made assumptions that my house would be too active and chaotic because I have younger school- aged kids. They did not call to express any of these concerns before giving the cat away and would only respond by text vs calling when I wanted to discuss the process. It was a very was unprofessional experience and very heartbreaking the way the whole thing was handled.
I really enjoyed my experience there. As an international graduate with no experience of having a cat, I went there with tons of questions. I made the right choice. I spent two hours there with my wife and the volunteers were very patient and nice. They answered all concerns that I have and introduced cats of various ages for me. This visit was a comprehensive cat lesson for me and I indeed had a great time. I appreciated their kindness and would love to adopt a cat from them.
I tried to adopt a cat from this location three weeks ago. I never received a call back after going in and filling out my application. I believe I submitted it to a man named CJ. I ended up going through Lollipop Farm! Lollipop Farm provided me with excellent service and food and coupons for my new cat.
I was told the kitten I wanted to adopt could only be if I fostered other cats as well!! Then I was told I had to already have another cat at home to be able to bring the kitten home!!Meanwhile the sign on the kittens cage said “they would prefer to be the ONLY SPOILED one in the home…)I was so disappointed…. The older woman volunteer couldn’t even tell me if the kitten was fixed, if she had her first round of shots…. Then she left went next door to talk to some admin that said the kitten couldn’t be alone….although all her brothers and sisters were adopted out independently!!!Was a horrible experience and I was heartbroken… we have a beautiful home and would have provide the best of life…. Complete turn off attempting a first time adoption :(
I appreciated the way this adoption agency vetted possible adoptive parents. They call the vets associated with the perspective parents to find out if they bring in current animals for their annual visits and for any other medical issues the pet might have. They also get a sense of how these people relate to their pets.
Over the last 5-6 years, weve adopted three kittens from PAN. All three experiences were very positive and we now have three wonderful, lovable, healthy cats thanks to their excellent foster cat moms. Yes - the staff is extremely thorough in making sure their cats and kittens go to good homes (i.e. lots of paperwork, contacting your vet for information) After an extremely horrible experience adopting through Scottsville Animal Hospital, were very happy to have found Pet Adoption Network.
I would be exceptionally leery of adopting cats that are found on the street especially deep in the inner city. Buyer beware. I also did not appreciate when one of the volunteers showed up on my doorstep unannounced, I assume for a home visit to see if I up to their standards to adopt? I gave the two wild cats back 2 weeks later, out almost $200. A small price to pay however compared to what they broke and ruined in my house and what they would continue to reek havoc in my house and then cost me.
They make the adoption process very long and complicated and i assume in most cases results in you never getting a cat. They are so extremely disorganized its very disappointing. We would have provided a much better than average kitty home and even wanted to keep 2 siblings together but were told to mix and match from different litters..it was weeks of emails and even going in and seeing the kittens we wanted just to be called days later and told one was going to another home. i really have nothing good to say about my experience. Stick with lollypop farm.
They do a fantastic job finding homes for cats and kittens. The volunteers really care about the animals and theyre well cared for. I adopted two cats from them, and would definitely use them again.
The volunteers are truly dedicated to making sure all of the cats find a wonderful home. They are thorough in their screening, which may offend some people, but it is best for the animals. Bravo to the Pet Adoption Network!
My husband and I walked in. Two woman were talking near a cage in the back. When we walked where they were standing we saw 4 kittens in the cage and were asked if we wanted to see one. I said no thank you and went back toward the front to see a cat my husband and I were interested in. I opened the cage and placed the cat on me. The 2 women ran over and stated he was a runner I must put him back in the cage. He seemed perfectly fine. I replaced him in the cage , my husband and I walked out. We had wanted to adopt him but apparently this is not what the 2 woman wanted!!!! The cats name was Bryson. Horrible experience, will never return.
This the best place to adopt a cat! We have gotten all of the cats we have now there and they are all great animals! I feel like the fostering really contributes to that.
It appears as though they wont let Senior Citizens adopt younger cats because the cat might out live the owner. In our case we would have provided a home to my mothers cat should that have happened. Instead there is a cat still in need of a home. Makes me sad.
Cant say enough good things about PAN! Have adopted 2 cats over 5 years. They are a NO KILL cat rescue group. If cant adopt, or foster, you CAN monetarily donate as pet vet care can get quite costly. Additionally, you can check the website and Sponsor a specific pet(s)! 😻
Very friendly and helpful volunteers, great location, and wonderful outcomes for the cats available for adoption! The adoption pricing is excellent, which includes vaccinations and any vet care like spaying/neutering.
Horrible on trying to contact someone. Did not even tried to contact us back when asking a question. I wanted a specific cat I sent in an email and application for the cat got only one response and that was it, when I look back on the website the cat was adopted without giving us any warning or information. Very horrible and discriminating.
Very friendly, animal loving staff. They went out of their way to make the adoption process easy on everyone including out new pets. Highly recommend.
They were very friendly at PAN and are thorough with the application. I found my kitty Dominic there 7 mo. ago and I have no regrets.
This is a no kill shelter with all rescue cats and kittens that have been fostered. The staff is exceptional.
Staff is very kind and helpful. Very interested on the welfare of their cat and human clients
They were very helpful. We found a loving 2 year old named Marissa
Very nice people. Got our 2 kittens from them
The price is absolutely ridiculous. With prices like that youll be keeping them forever tf😒😶
Inspiring to witness the care the staff have for the sweet kitties. Love this place.
Good hearted people doing wonderful work saving cats of all ages.
If you are looking to adopt a cat or kitten, this is an excellent organization. You can meet the kitties on the weekend at their Charlotte location. The people who run the organization are very kind and helpful. They carefully vet potential homes, which might put some folks off, but I like how serious they are about feline welfare. A great place.
Name is misleading, I was assuming they had a variety of pets. It seems they only have cats.
I adopted my cat from there and hes the best cat Ive ever had Felix
I dont think they liked me, lady was very short with me....
It was not a good experience.I was told that I was too oldto adopt a cat. I was made tofeel inferior and I feel it wasdiscrimination.
Have visited a couple times. People are friendly, not pushy. Place is neat & clean, animals loved & well cared for. Cant speak for adoption as we cant at the present take on a pet.
Got help for my baby when I needed answers on my rescue dog
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Helpful
Do you have any volunteer work
I dont think they are doing this right?!?!

Love this animal rescue.
