I can say that Regional K-9 has absolutely turned my dogs life around. I adopted her from The Verona st humane society and she was a completely unknown dog. She was a pitbull with nearly every behavioral problem that a dog could have except for aggression towards humans thankfully. With Pats balanced holistic training approach, and with a slight change in how you look at your dogs behavior, its a life changing experience. She was a stray before she came to me and it appeared like she never had any sort of rules in her entire life and every day was exhausting. My dog was extremely reactive and aggressive towards other dogs and within about 2 days, Pat had her coexisting peacefully with his own dog with guidance and supervision. With consistency, rules, and routines, Ellies many behavioral problems went away on their own without even specifically addressing them. Some of these problems will never be completely gone, they will always have to be managed, but I am so grateful that I now have the opportunity to manage them due to the groundwork that he laid for me. The whole experience has convinced me that there is no dog that is too far gone. Sometime down the road, if I get another dog and Pat is still doing this, I will absolutely be coming back to see him.
Pat at Regional K9 is not only an amazing trainer but also someone who truly cares for your pet. We saw so much progress in such a short amount of time. After dropping off a nippy/jumpy 16-week old puppy, we came home with a calm, focused, and well-behaved puppy. Throughout the whole processes Pat was professional and provided continued support both during and after the training through pictures, videos, and texts. Thanks to this continued support and guided materials we were given, we have been able to keep up her training and she has grown into a very well behaved 8-month-old! I highly recommend Pat!
Pat at Regional K-9 was awesome! He is very knowledgeable. We sent our 1 year old chocolate lab to him who loved to jump on everyone he met, pull you on walks and basically run the household. We are first time dog owners and didn’t have any experience. Pat sat us down, gave us a plan and took our puppy for 10 days to retrain. During those 10 days Pat sent us videos and gave daily communication. After the 10 days we had the tools to keep going and Pat has still been there to answer any questions and support us. I highly recommend Regional K-9.
As I am writing this I just returned from a walk with my 3.5 year old Chocolate Lab who for past 3.4 years of her life was almost intolerable walking on a leash. She would pull us basically down the road and was so overly social when it came to meeting/seeing other people and dogs, encountering either one was always a challenge. After enduring enough of this, we decided to seek out professional help and found Pat at Regional K9 after some online searching. His methodologies seemed sound and he offers a free consultation, which in my opinion is a huge positive as we could meet with him, hear what his training consisted of and then decide for ourselves if we wanted to continue with the training or not. After meeting with Pat, I had no doubt in my mind this would work and we opted for the 3 day boarding program with 1 (human) lesson upon pickup. After the 3 days, I cannot say enough positive things about the experience as a whole. The dog we got back was well mannered, listened to direction and walked in the heel position on a leash with zero pressure or pulling. On top of that, we got the much needed instruction to continue the training at home. Now roughly one month post boarding, I cannot believe the progress we have all made, and it’s been such a delight to come home and go on walks with a happy and well behaved dog.To top it all off, Pat has gone out of his way to follow up with us after the training, check on the status of things and offer helpful tips and tricks to make sure we are giving her the best instruction possible.I absolutely recommend Pat and Regional K9 to anyone with a dog. We learned so much in the process and it was a pleasure working with him. Thanks for such a great experience!
My experience with Regional K-9 was a total game changer for me!Otis had several issues with following commands, as well as, pulling or lunging while on leash and poor impulse control around people and dogs.Eventually he became so reactive that walking him put everyone at risk.As a lifelong owner of numerous dogs, this one broke the mold and the likelihood of re-homing him was high.Skeptical yet determined to find a trainerthat could help, I met with Pat Curran of Regional K-9.Within a short period of time he knew exactly how to motivate, lead, guide and build my dog’s confidence.Watching him respond to Pat was like magic, and, a critical turning point in his life. After completing a ten day board and train, Otis returned as a happy, obedient and well behaved dog who loves to work, learn and please. We now go everywhere together as a team - drama free!Pat Curran is clearly the best and wouldhighly recommend Regional K-9 to anyone who is struggling with behavioral issues with their dog(s). #LifeIsGood 🐾
My husband and I brought home our bundle of cute yellow lab puppy who turned out to be a mouthing, pushy, giant monster neither of us were equipped to handle, even though we’d both owned dogs before. Pat was absolutely amazing with our dog. With his guidance, Levi’s behavioral issues have been taken largely to heel, and my husband and I are also equipped with the skills to be able to communicate and effectively interact with Levi. Levi’s two stays with Pat (prong and e-collar) truly transformed him! And Pat is so passionate about what he does — it’s clear in the way he invests not only in your dog, but in your success as owner. I would highly recommend Pat’s services to anyone who is struggling with dog behavioral issues.
We took our dog, Charlie (a one-year-old Corgi-chihuahua mix) to Pat for training after seeing all 5-star reviews. I have to say, it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Charlie had developed a lot of anxiety issues - he was very dog-reactive (barked like crazy and generally lost his mind every time another dog would come near), pulled like crazy on his leash on walks, and was very scared of new people. Being a small dog, it’s easy to ignore these bad habits, but it was still stressful for us (and probably Charlie), so we decided to do something about it.I cannot say enough about how much of a change we have seen in Charlie since we took him to Pat for training. Pat met with me, my husband, and Charlie for about an hour, described his program, and assessed what Charlie needed most. We left Charlie with him for 5 days, and when we went to pick him up, the change was amazing! He was focused on us for direction and guidance, walked right next to us on leash, and obeyed commands (including riding calmly in the car!) with almost no exceptions. We have since continued with the program that Pat put in place, which has been a lot of work, but we knew it would pay off in the long run. We’ve had to change how we interact with Charlie and our idea of the dog-human relationship, but it’s so worth it. We have a wonderful, focused, well-behaved dog who now knows exactly what’s expected of him (which seems to make him so much happier!).
We brought our pit bull (Astro)to Pat in October and he came home a new dog! Astro was very reactive and had a lot of bad habits. Pat was extremely thorough and sent daily texts and videos of what was happening in the training. If I had a question or concern I was answered promptly with valuable details. Pat is masterful at his job and our dog loved him. After Astros 10 day training we continue to have ongoing sessions. If I have a problem I know Pat is a phone call away. I feel that he truly loves dogs and wants them to be happy, calm and well adjusted family members. I told Pat that I felt like I dropped off a chevette and came home with a Maserati. This journey has been a lot of work(most worthwhile things in life are)and I would do it again in a minute. Don’t hesitate to sign up it is worth every penny.
Our 9 month old Boxer Jedi “Sofia” Whiskey is extremely high energy and would dangerously jump up on our young children. She also wouldn’t walk on a leash without pulling and resistance. As a result she wasn’t able to be with the family and was by default becoming more and more isolated from us. This was no way for her or the family to live. I started searching for an answer and help. I found Pat at Regional K-9 and after only 5 days with Pat, wow what a magnificent change!!! A godsend! I cannot express my / our gratitude enough. She goes in “place”, “stays”, “down”, “sits”, “comes” among others all on command. She also walks easily and best of all she now is truly part of the family. She is happy and calm, what a gift! The kids can safely play with her...I highly recommend Pat to anyone looking to train their furry family member and instill calm and peace to their home! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My partner and I couldnt be happier with Pat and the work he did with our pup. We showed up with our one year old lab mix after really struggling with his behavior (he literally chewed through his leash during the intake process with Pat). After ten days with Pat we were reintroduced to a new dog, he has been responsive and shows a clear understanding of the principles pat discussed. He made it very clear that hes not a magician and that as the owners, my girlfriend and I have a lot of work to do, but he put us back in charge, and now we get to decide what kind of dog we want. Couldnt be more grateful!
Pat did an incredible job with my dog Judge! Judge learned all the basic walking/leash commands as well as general obedience. He came home a new dog! The best part of the residency program though is that Pat & his family tested Judge like he was one of their own. It’s more than worth it to have a well-trained/happy dog! I highly recommend Pat & Regional K9!
I called this gentleman ready to write him a check to fix my dogs behavioral problems, and he was kind enough to give me some solid advice and ideas on how too turn my dog around. I was highly impressed by this. His plan of action goes into effect today, I will post in another 3 months to let you know how it all came out.
I am not saying that Pat is a miracle worker... but he is. We took our excited, chewing and rambunctious 4 month old Goldendoodle to Pat for the 3-1, 2 nights and 3 days training. After our two hour training lesson with Pat we could immediately see a difference in our puppy.Pat provided us with tools and tricks to help keep him in check, walk better and listen to us better. We have applied all that he has taught us at home and could not be happier with the results we see everyday.Pat is very knowledgeable and answers any questions or concerns you have with a smile. We appreciate his help with our puppy more than he knows! He is the BEST dog training in Rochester, without a doubt. I suggest him to all of my friends and family.
We adopted a pit bull and attempted to train him on our own. Within a few short weeks he was out of control and had taken over our lives and our home. We began searching for an intensive training program because we knew this was no average dog and we needed someone to help us with his aggression and negative behaviors. His strength and stubbornness had overpowered us and we were ready to give in even as aggressive breed experienced dog owners. When we first met Pat for our initial interview we knew the 10 day intensive in residence was what we needed. Pat worked with our dog and updated us at least daily sending videos and pictures. The training videos are still helpful to this day. Mac’s transformation has been amazing. He has gone from a dog we feared to have in our home and around people to a well mannered gentle giant that we take everywhere. Mac truly has become a part of our family and we can never thank Pat enough. His programming is well rounded and effective. We would highly recommend him.
Pat is a fantastic trainer who really treats your dog like he/she were his own. He really walks you though the program and once he begins training your dogs, he sends you photos and short videos of your dog’s progress via text so you can how your dog is improving which is really awesome and helps you stay connected to your dog and his/her progress. Pat really does take the time to get to know your dog and tailors his training around the dog’s personality, strengthening the dog’s string suits and working on improving their trouble spots (e.g. jumping, accidents in the house, etc). Pat is very courteous, professional, and genuinely cares about both his clients and dogs, which really adds a level of personal attention and detail that only can offer to your dogs.Pat also provides private lessons (already built into his packages) to show you what he has worked on with your dog and to give the owner the chance to work with the dog while getting real time feedback. This is the true icing on the cake because Pat can help you improve your commands with your dog and give you invaluable pointers and suggestions to ensure that when you take your dog home that you are correctly reinforcing what she has learned and building on what Pat has taught the dog. Pat staggers these private lessons to ensure a successful transition in training your dog and making sure he/she continues to make progress.I highly recommend Pat as your dog trainer ultimately for two standout reasons:1. The amount of progress he is able to accomplish in your dog that will give owners a great advantage in teaching their dogs manners and obedience.2. His genuine passion, respect, and professionalism when working with both dogs and clients simply is one-of-a-kind and the true difference maker.
I hit a wall training my weimaraner and the trainer quickly remedied the issue. Thank you again.
