Bark Ave is the best! We bring our dog Penny here every 4-5 weeks and she looks perfect every time. Peter at the front desk is great with communication and always gives you a time frame of when pick up is. Penny is a Pomeranian so she has a lot of fur, they always leave her looking neat and trimmed. Her paws and nails come out looking great. They are consistent with the quality of their products and expertise. I highly recommend Bark Ave for your dog! She always comes home happy:)

I’ve been taking Harley to Bark Avenue Dog for a year already and I absolutely love the way they treat us as soon as we walk in. They are friendly and the service is great. Peter and Alyssa are awesome! I highly recommend Bark Avenue Dog. Harley loves his groomer Alyssa and looks forward to going in to see her, she treats him like her own.

The groomers at Bark Ave keep my cavapoo looking and smelling good. They work quickly so he isn’t there all day. We have been going for a few years now, and they always do a great job with him! They also offer walk ins for nail trims in between grooming which is very helpful.

My wife and I have been bringing our dog here for awhile now. We have always been so impressed by their friendliness and how great our pup comes home looking and smelling. We recently just broke that the newest addition to our fur family there too and he loved the experience! We personally love they always come home with a new bandana as well. Highly recommend!

Always a happy pup after a visit to Bark Ave! We are so thankful to have found this place. They offer a wide variety of grooming services from de-shedding to paw-dicures including moisturizing the pads, blueberry facials and more! Maui is extra floofy and handsome with a seasonal bandana. They are always speedy and have him ready within 1.5 hours. Lastly, they always reassure us that Maui was okay and well behaved during his appointment. Would definitely recommend to anyone in search of a groomer!

Bark ave is the BEST!! We have 2 golden retrievers and we’ve been going to Bark Ave for a few years at this point, and they always do such a good job. Our one dog has anxiety and used to HATE going to the groomers (like it was a challenge to get her in the door) but she doesn’t have that here. They always come back super cute and fluffy, smelling amazing, and I give the Bark Ave team so much credit for always managing to get their crazy knots out that our dogs get from playing with each other. Highly recommend, especially for golden retrievers!

We have been sending our Morkie to Bark Ave Dog for 3 years and she comes out looking beautiful each time. Payton is very nervous but seems comfortable walking in. Every employee has been kind and understanding throughout the years.

Our furry child Dexter has been going to Bark Avenue Dog for over 10 years. He always looks cute after leaving the shop. His haircut always looks great and he is always wearing a seasonal bandana that finishes the look. Dexters nails are always done and he is ready for next couple of weeks. My dog Bandit loves coming here every month. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They offered to use hypoallergenic shampoo because he gets itchy with normal shampoo. Even though he barks non stop when he sees other dogs, the staff still like him. Thank you for tolerating my crazy dog!

I brought in my four month old hair bag of a puppy and she is a completely different dog. I was worried how she would handle being groomed because shes very hyper but Janae did a great job with her and she behaved better than expected. She has been so happy since she got groomed and has been a bullet around my house ever since. I will continue to bring her back for regular care. Thank you so much.

We love Bark Avenue. We have a pommypoo that can get aggressive around other dogs so alot of places will turn him down during busier hours. Also his hair gets very tangled/matted at times so shaving him can be hard. Bark ave has never complained about him and hes always happy going or coming there. The prices arent the cheapest but quality does not come cheap, and our little guy is worth it.Oh the new place is snazzy too!

We take out Shih Tzu here because they helped us out when we needed an emergency grooming and took us. We called 15 groomer before they made room for us. We will continue using their services for the life of our dog. Great people very knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend them. I started bringing my chihuahua to Bark Ave Dog about 2 years ago. I was a new dog owner and had no idea where to go to have my girl’s nails trimmed. Because they were close to where I live, I figured I’d give them a try. I have been so happy with the service and most importantly the way they treat my dog.I was recently “forced” to use a different groomer based on a timing issue and it was awful. AWFUL!I couldn’t wait to come back to Bark Ave. I’ll never go anywhere else. Thank you to the amazing staff for taking such good care of us.

So disappointed in Bark Avenue Dog. The last time I made an appointment with them, they told me that Smokie couldn’t come without updated rabies shots, which needed to be scheduled and paid for. I got that handle and have even brought my dog back to them for walk in services since. I left a voicemail today trying to schedule a grooming appointment and this is the communication I received via text. No call, no clarity, no attempt to retain me as a customer and I have been a customer over 5 years closer to 8. So much for me trying to support local. 🥹. What do you all think? Would this be okay for you and your pet family member?

Very professional & friendly to pets & their humans too. I have a very nervous black Rescue Chihuahua with black nails. I cant cut her nails myself. Ive never had a problem in 25 years of owning this breed b4. But this girl is impossible! I made a couple calls, loved their price. They were easy to find. Bark ave takes Walk Ins too. In 7 or 8 minutes they were done w Miss Impossible! I was SO IMPRESSED! Been THERE TWICE SO FAR NOW.. They ended up doing nail grinding for a couple dollars more. I tipped too. Im happy & so is Zoey. She & I now go 4 ice cream after!❤😊🐾❤🐾❤🐾❤

Wonderful service and excellent results. We try our best but just cant keep up with the dog tumbleweeds, these ladies were able to get out all that extra fluff and were wonderful with our cautious lil buddy.

They are awesome there!! Very pleasant team of prople. Business is ran very well. The facility is clean. I trust them to care for my dog. She is a very high strung and anxicious dog. Alyssa grooms her and handles her with care. She has a great connection with the dogs. I swear she is a dog wisperer.

I have been taking my dog, Mickey, here since 2013 and they do a great job with him! He is a dog who does not like many people but he likes everyone there which is the most important thing to me. He also always looks adorable after a hair cut and I love getting him a seasonal facial!

Whatever you do don’t go here!!!!! I’ve taken my dogs here for well over 8 or years! They seriously hurt my one Pom last visit! It cost me $170 at the vet! The poor dog wouldn’t eat for three days! (I looks like they clipped his private area a clipped him!) They never answered my texts for weeks and said he was fine and they noticed no issues. I had my other Pom traumatized because they trimmed his back end up so tight he had issues. Each time I’ve tried to work with them and things seemed good. I was hesitant in going to our next apt. , but we did. And the owner Kelly was rude and unprofessional with us because we were 15 min late! Never even asked about the dog she hurt! And then proceeded to say I’m always late! Totally not true! It was apparent she didn’t want to take care of our dogs after harming one badly last time. I never set the blame on her when I texted her I only asked what may have happened and told her about his issues and that it cost me $170 at the vet. BUT NOW I KNOW FOR SHE SHE HURT HIM!

I love taking my dog here! I have a two year old Corgi named Akira. Akira is a love bug, however can become sassy when it comes to getting her nails cut. The groomers are so amazing and loving towards her!

Our shi-tzu is 13. The grumpiest of old men. He hates going places, tends to poop on the floor and start shaking when hes someplace like this.BUT!When I pick him up an hour later, lil man struts right the hell outta there with his new do and a scarf. And he smells like blueberries.

I have been bringing my two Golden Retrievers here for a few years, and we are very happy! The people at Bark Avenue are always very helpful and accommodating and we love coming here!

They did a horrible job on my dog. Uneven fur, bald patches, and did not follow the instructions, despite me providing a picture of what I wanted. My dog was returned to me scared and clearly traumatized, never had this experience at any groomer prior to them or after them. Idk what they did to my dog but this is a great example of why you shouldn’t trust your dog with just anyone. The owner is terrible, didn’t listen to what I showed her and told her.UPDATE: Just because there’s no record of me doesn’t mean I didn’t come here and have a poor experience. Many people post anonymously for their safety. To prove I’ve been here, you guys have a small waiting room and there’s a door and wall that separates it from the grooming area.

I would love to leave a good review for this place, but twice now they have shaved my golden doodle down short head to toe, never had this at another groomer. I had a great experience here for years but more recently they just shaved my golden doodle down without letting me know or asking. Maybe it is just the short staffing and loss of patience in the pandemic but I am not sure I will return.

I wanted to update you on some changes at Bark Ave, in the new year we switched from an employer model to a renter model meaning that instead of all the groomers working under the Bark Ave name they now rent out the table space and run their own grooming salons from our location. With that being said Bark Avenue Dog is in the process of downsizing and can’t accommodate dogs of aggressive nature anymore. Unfortunately with that being said we won’t be able to groom Armani going forward. I’m sorry for an inconvenience this may cause.-Bark Avenue DogWell that’s unfortunate that you don’t have any grooming professionals who are willing to handle any type of dog, I was under the impression that people in the field of working with animals were trained and well skilled to know how to handle when a dog becomes aggressive or find mechanisms to not trigger a dog’s aggression. I will take my business else where, where there’s highly trained professionals who know how to groom dogs and maintain them at a calm state as they are being groomed, have a nice day

I cannot say enough about my experience with this facility. I am overjoyed with the job they did. They are patient, professional and truly love dogs. Above that, they are excellent groomers. I couldn’t be more pleased with their work and look forward to a long working relationship for my mini bernedoodle, Milo.

Ive taken my small 7 pound dog there twice now. The first time was awesome, and the second time was good too. Only issue is that they cut my dog on his face, I didnt notice and nobody informed me. A week after, I finally noticed because the cut was inflammed and infected. I am now out over $200 in vet bills from the infection, vet is almost certain from the place not being clean and shears not being sterilized. I will be soon contacting them and asking for compensation for my grooming bill and vet hills

Brought my dog here 3 times, everything was going well and they never said my dog was a problem and it was fine to bring him there even though he didnt get along great with other dogs, they could still bathe him. My 4th appointment I had made, a lady called me 10 minutes before I was supposed to be there saying that the girl who bathes my dog had a family emergency and she had to reschedule. We rescheduled for the week after. I get to Bark Avenue with my dog at my scheduled time the week after and the lady at the desk says she doesnt know why they rescheduled me but they dont feel comfortable taking care of my dog since he doesnt get along with other dogs. [Keep in mind I had already brought him here 3 times before and they never had an issue] Instead of calling me earlier in the day and canceling, they decided to wait until I got there with my excited dog and then cancel. So UNPROFESSIONAL! I asked about previous excuse the week before as to why they canceled and Im pretty sure they lied to me about why they needed to cancel so they didnt have to take care of my dog. TERRIBLE communication and customer service at this place and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I am a first time dog owner and that did sooooo right by us. Sophia looked gorgeous after her trim, Blueberry facial, nails done, smelling lovely with a hint of glitter and the cutest bandana with colorful unicorns on it to match her harness! They are now my forever groomer... They understood what we wanted... For her to not look homeless but to still keep the cute scruffy puppy look... Nailed IT!!! 😘

Ive never been to a groomer before. But I needed to get my dogs nails cut and I wont let Pet supplies plus do it anymore.When I walked in there was a strong smell of wet dog, Im assuming this is semi normal because its a groomer with a small waiting room.We got his teeth brushed, his ears cleaned and his nails ground for what I thought was a very fair price. There was no waiting they brought him right back. My dog was afraid at first but when he came out he seemed very happy. His nails looked good, his teeth were clean, as well as his ears, and he had a nice vanilla scent that wore off a little before a day. Id go back. They were nice.

I used to only bring my schipperke /Chihuahua here when she was a puppy until she got older and Ill be bringing our new pit puppy here too. Small business, absolutely worth supporting. They get to work quickly and its in and out fast. Prices are affordable. Always friendly service!!

First visit to this place and definitely won’t be the last! They did a fantastic job grooming my 7 year old Newfie! I was able to get an appointment within a week and the staff was very professional, friendly, and compassionate.

Brought my 10 year old, 100lb+ GSD/Elkhound Mix in for a desperately needed grooming. His Groomer reached out immediately with an update after assessing his coat, and she did an AMAZING job! This is the only place I will bring my dog to have his nails done. They are very gentle with him even though he does not like his nails done. When he had leg surgery they were amazing about making sure he had proper support while grooming. Always do a great job!

Ive been taking my dog here since he was a puppy (in Jan 2018 he will be 5yr) He goes about 3-4 times a year Never had a bad cut or trim once. He is a big sheltie (think FLUFFY lassie) and gets a lot of ear knots and nail trims. The girls here are great, prices are very fair since change groomers want to up-charge a LOT more for a show dog/fancy breed. He honestly is a big baby and Im sure a bit of a brat when Im not there they somehow manage to have him always done in 2 hours or less which is another amazing task. Cant thank them enough!

If I could leave no stars I would , If they dont like your dog they will cut them and not even tell you , they are cruel people I would never bring my animal here .Update: and no, my sister has brought her animals here on many occasions and Ive come with her quite a few times, after the last and final time we did take her to another groomer ,Who had said that you had been injuring her private parts as well as her leg , NOT MISTAKEN for a different groomer. I brought in a 75 lb gold mountain dog who was so nervous but sweet and they did a wonderful job with him. It was hard to find somebody who would take him. They didnt seem to even blink. I love the new location it is charming and very clean and charming.

My dog Amos has been to Bark Ave twice and both times the staff was very nice and professional. The did exactly what we wanted done and Amos came out of there happy. I would recommend Bark Ave to anyone.

I would leave no stars but one is required to leave a review. Yesterday i took my beautiful Pomeranian for his first grooming. I informed the groomer I was a first time dog owner and this was Teddys first cut. She asked me if I wanted him trimmed and I told her I wanted him to look clean and fluffy. I picked up my puppy at 4:30 paid and left. When i got home I examined my now shaved pup and Im heartbroken and so upset about what was done to my poms beautiful hair. My dog was shaved and now has lost all of his beautiful fur. There are patches that are completely uneven. How could a groomer cut a poms hair so low knowing they have an inner coat that could be damaged?I can only hope my poms coat will make a full recovery. Again as groomers cutting a pomeraninan this short should have been an obvious NO. I did not consent to such a short cut ( REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE OWNER BELIEVES) and specifically said not to do alot around his face and head. I tried to reach out to the owner to discuss my dissatisfaction and the response was so unprofessional.I was told that I chose the length on the first sample and at the groomer advise against the length and suggested a longer-length ( first lie). The owner was not present when I was discussing length with the groomer and when I told the owner this her reply was I trust my groomer. I sent before and after pictures and also showed them where the cut was uneven and was told many people cut their Pomeranians short. I also was told several times that they are not mind readers. So unprofessional. This is not okay! Im in the process of filing a dispute and will not be returning. I can only hope Teddys coat can recover and grow full again. So be careful when you bring your dog here because they are not mind-readers and if you have any concerns dont waste your breath. We would not take our Doris (Wheaten Terrier) any place other than Bark Ave. They are wonderful. Consistently great cuts. Doris is always looking her best.

Was scared to get my dogs nails clipped, figured it would be a process. NOPE 5 minutes later she was trotting out happy as a clam. Highly recommend great people

Kelly was amazing with my rescue pup Kiera. She showed her such kindness and compassion and gave her lots of love. Kiera smells so nice, looks so shiny and left with a cute bandana. We will definitely be back and request Kelly again.

Weve been taking Kora here for at least 2 years and even though weve moved from the immediate area we still bring her back! They are the only groomers we trust with her crazy fur. They do such a great job and are such nice people!

AMAZING!!! 10/10 I cried with tears of joy. Kelly groomed my yorkie (Peanut) who is 6 lbs and has lots of anxiety. Because she’s so anxious she barks and is bad at salons, and has been kicked out before. In the past I had to medicate her and it still did not work. Because of Covid, peanut had not been groomed in over a year, was matted and had long nails. Kelly was extremely patient and kind with my Yorkie and I could not be more appreciative!! Will come back over and over and give a gift next time because these groomers do an amazing job!! Could not be happier!!!

The ladys that work here are very friendly and they always remember me and my dog. They do a great job with the grooming and are quick and my dog isnt afaid to be left with them! I highly recommend them.

The first time I took him there everything was great; this last time not so much. When we picked him up he seemed fine but as the weekend progressed we noticed that he could not stop licking his genital area and seemed to be in discomfort when using the bathroom. Upon further inspection we see that his entire genital area is red and irritated, he cant even sit still for five minutes. When I called, their excuse was that because this time of year his skin is dry so it got irritated. Im no expert here but if this is something that happens quite often wouldnt not only common sense but your expertise in dog grooming tell you not to cut so short this time of year? And how about showing a little empathy for the situation and apologize instead of making excuses. Needless to say we wont be going back.

My furbabe, Bijou has been coming to Bark Ave since they opened their doors. We both love it there. Everyone is so nice and treat my pup with love.

My German shepherd sheds like crazy, and their de-shedding works great every time I take him. He is silky soft every time when I pick him up. Great service and their prices are affordable too!

We took our Pomeranian puppy who needed a proper trim here as first time dog owners. We were very impressed. Will recommend to all my friends!

Took my oldest dog there a couple times over the years but always felt it was over priced (strike 1), but at least back then they asked for vaccination and records when I first brought him in. Hadnt been in a year or so but decided take him and my puppy there and it disturbed me that they didnt ask for any of those this time(strike 2). Strike three was the fleas I found on my puppy when I got home. I know for a fact that they were not caught elsewhere as my cat who is in close contact with both of them did not have fleas nor had they been anywhere else that could possibly have given them fleas. I also do a full check up on both dogs before ever taking them to any groomer(as everyone should). The cost of teeth brushing, wash, and cut for two Maltese (one 8lbs and the other 5lbs puppy) came to over $100. So with tip and flea treatment, this whole experience ended up costing me $300+. Wont be going back- they should really check for health records. If youve taken your dog their recently, please check them over.**UPDATE: Went to speak to someone today (10/31/17) and ask for a refund, not even for the extra $150 I had to spend n new flea treatment. They (specifically Kelly) blamed me for not treating them (they wear seresto collars which I took off for the grooming) and said “absolutely not, fleas are bad right now”.

Up until today you couldn’t tell me anything wrong about Bark Avenue.Had I not witnessed it myself I would have brushed off as overreaction. Shame on me for not standing up for my biracial children, even though they are grown.My daughter was made to come back to car and get mask before entering, but as we watched the white man walk in behind her no questions asked.When I mentioned this to them after payment I was shouted at and told how dare I mention it.Then of course I was shouted at we busy, and you find another groomer.I did say you need too stop shouting at me I was told you need to take your dog and get your butt out.Just thought you should know😷Never thought after all that’s going on stupid me.

Always great service at a really reasonable rate. I tip extra bc honestly I dont think they charge enough for how well they do lol.Walk-ins are welcome for nail trimmings and such, with a quick turnaround. Just remember to call ahead for full groomings.

They usually have my dog done in less than an hour and a half which I love. The staff is really nice. I feel comfortable leaving my dog here :)

My Peaka (10 yr. old Border Collie) was a little shy going in, not to mention stinky. When I picked her up she was happy and clean and that makes me happy. Thanks Bark Avenue Dog. We will back again.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP: went in to get My dogs nails cut wanted them done with The dremmel tool and She clipped his back feet and Did his front feet With the dremmel. she walked out into the store handed him back to me And sad I didnt get to one of the nails and I only did half of another because he slipped out of the cone and was wiggling off the table.She then charged me for clipping all his nails and dremmeling all as nails which she did not do! charged me $16.. I paid for a full service and she didnt comple it.DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!

I have Jackie at Roc the Dog Spaw, shes wonderful and keeps me informed with my dog and is understanding if I got behind in brushing out my dog.

Their customers park in the lot across the street even though they have been asked not to. They are signs post and even new signs as a friendly reminder. They still allow there customers to park there. If your there for a few minutes or more you are still taking away the most convenient parking for those who live there and pay to park there. To me it is common courtesy and respect for others.

The staff is kind and caring and asks what you would like. I really like that my dog was not kept in a kennel and there for hours. She was ready when promised and smiling. Thank you.

The hours are not published but the owners like to base their hours on appointments set but it can sometimes be hard to get a hold of someone. I called around 10 and it took an hour to get a call back to find out the hours for the day. Always quick service.

I have taken my dog, Penelope, since she was a puppy (now 8 years old). I have only had positive and wonderful experiences with Bark Ave dog. Reception, and the groomers are all so pleasant and professional. I truly feel comfortable leaving Penelope in their care for her grooms. Their work is great— she always leaves looking fresh, clean , and adorable. I cannot recommend them enough.

I have been taking my dog here for over a year now and it has been the best decision! The staff are super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Anytime I need to adjust an appointment the staff is patient and understanding. They do an excellent job when it comes to grooming, we love this place!!

Friendly, easy going yet professional, always does a great job and is flexible to clients needs. We have been taking our high energy Irish Setter, Penny here for a year or two now. Penny has had trouble in the past with other groomers due to her anxiety and temperament when it comes to being groomed. This groomer has showed patience, care and intellect when inquiring and handling Penny.

I took my two Havanese puppies for the first time. I was scared because it was their first time and they are very skittish. But when I saw them I fell in love. I love the cut and I loved the girl who cut them. They look like two stuffed animals. They lasted 1:30 hours for both of them and they charged me $70 for each one. Its worth it, I wont change!!!! The best in Rochester!!
