Petco Grooming

This was my third time using the grooming service at the Pittsford Petco in Rochester, NY, since bringing my Cavapoo puppy home in late March 2024. The first visit was fine, it was her first grooming after receiving her vaccinations & although she was matted, she was returned with a low cut & some shaping to her face & tail. A couple months later, we returned with her coat in better condition, & although it was said that over an inch of fur was taken off, she did not look like much had been cut. Since her last grooming left her fur pretty long, she was needing an appointment sooner than previously. It was disappointing to see that there was no availability within a 3-week time frame as I had travel upcoming. For this reason, I booked her grooming for Friday, 8/16, following our return & by this time, her coat had acquired some mats, similar to her first grooming session. I patiently awaited her Friday appointment to wake up & be notified that it was canceled due to the ENTIRE grooming staff being urgently out of office on a Friday. I was instructed to call at opening the following day or reschedule online. Increasingly frustrated, I checked the app to find an early morning appointment the following day which I scheduled. The next day, I was skeptical when the appointment that was estimated to take 2-3hrs, was finished in just under two hours. Upon arrival to retrieve my dog, her face, ears, & body had been completely shaven down. I was incredibly disappointed to see the results as it seemed like her service was rushed to accommodate for back flow from yesterday’s cancellations. I did not receive the impression that they even attempted to do any manual detangling before taking her completely down with the clippers. Before departing, I requested any feedback on how to better maintain her coat between groomings as she’s not a fan of being brushed, & was blatantly told to hold her down & brush her more often. I would have much rather shaved her down myself, than to have paid $100 for her to have not been styled. I can guarantee I won’t be returning.Just for reference, the images show before & after grooming, & each appointment was approximately 6-8weeks apart. First in April, then June, then August. I would have scheduled her sooner in August had I been able to find availability.

Were so happy that groomers have returned to PETCO Pittsford, NY. We are lucky to have Sierra for our dogs grooming needs. Sierra is patient with our 2 year old, high energy Lab, Norm. She is professional and does an outstanding, thorough job! We are lucky to work with Sierra!

This Petco location does a wonderful job with our pup. Sierra is our groomer. We are contacted via text for appt confirmation, reminder and when pup needs to be picked up and a response given immediately if a question asked. They are patient and understanding. Our pup’s first time there she got a little anxious/whiny when ready for pickup. I was apprehensive to leave her; Sierra reassured me and gave an estimated timeframe that accurate. Pup was well taken care of…from dropoff, through grooming and pickup…she was happy to grab snacks after. The second time was great as well! The team is pleasant, attentive and friendly. My questions were answered and information given on another possible service without being pushy. The grooming area from what I saw was clean including the store as I went into the store to search and staff available/knowledgeable to assist in finding or if need be, to order items.We will be returning!

Poor quality of grooming. Dog left with infected eyes. Crated with fans on her while other dogs toileted in their crates. These photos are of her eyes 4 days after the grooming. You could not see anything but dark red in the whites of her eyes until today.

I drive 45 minutes to get to this spot and it is more than worth it. Every single groomer has a great attitude and clearly love their furry customers!

Jessica was great! His bath was excellent and hair cut was perfectly done. This was the best hair cut he has ever received. I will definitely be switching to Petco for grooming our dog! Kim d.

We have had the best experiences bringing our girl here. They are patient with her and understanding of her breeds needs. She leaps out of the car as soon as we pull up, so I know shes in good hands!

This is my second time taking my dog JoJo for his grooming needs and the techs there are very friendly and kind I will let friends and family know the best place to go is Petco for grooming needs.

LaLa normally has a wonderful time being groomed, but this time I could barely tell that she was clean. She didn’t smell clean. She didn’t have that beautiful perfume odor that she normally comes home with and her nails really did not look groomed.

This was our Sages first grooming experience. As he is quite a small breed and very young, we were concerned. But as soon as we talked to Sarah, we felt that Sage was in safe and good hands. She was very professional, friendly, compassionate and very caring. She did a great job and took care of our anxious Sage. I hope that the management of Petco realizes that she is a valuable asset to their organization. We have booked our next appointment with Sarah so that Sage gets to know her and be comfortable with her.

Sarah J is the best groomer weve ever used! She listens and provides the services we want. Her love for my dog is so evident - I trust her to take total care of my pooch! Trust in the groomer caring for my dog is first...getting a great haircut is a close second! She provides both!

My dog came home fancy and happy. He is a large boy with short hair. I bathe him myself, but I am very uncomfortable caring for his nails and glands. The groomer took the time to explain his toes have really long quicks. Im sure I would have hurt my sweet boy if I tried. I will definitely be back to this location.

Jessica at the Pittsford Petco is the best groomer. She is masterful with my dog. Love her! My dog has a history of not being the most calm during the grooming process but she is masterful. My dog is calm and collected around her. She really takers her time and my dog has come to love and trust her. She always makes him look his best. Thank you Jessica!!!❤️❤️❤️

Great customer service and cut. They listened to exactly what I wanted. My normal groomer is busy and books a month out but my dog needed service as soon as possible so I decided to try Petco, without the highest expectations since it is a chain. I was pleasantly surprised at the experience and customization.

I’m a frequent client of Pittsford Monroe Ave location and that is because I receive consistent outstanding service. The groomers are professional and kind. The grooming service is great with overall high quality results. And on this occasion Misty was able to squeeze my appointment in although she was already booked. Excellent customer service!

Angela, the groomer, was patient and kind. This was our puppys first grooming session and he is a barker because he is afraid of everything. She was knowledgeable, gave him a good haircut and he seemed very at ease with her.

My Bella looks amazing. I took her 8 months ago to a Petco and they refused to groom her saying she was too matted. But the team at Petco Pittsford took there time and my baby looks like my baby again. Thank you for all that you do 5 stars to you

Sarah is gentle and skilled with my older dog. Grooming is hard for him as his hind legs are weaker than they used to be. Sarah took her time with him, and he is very comfortable with her.

I went to purchase eukanuba food for my shih tzu but they actually just stopped restocking it. Luckily they guided me to some other foods they had available and I chose science diet. They said I could try it out and if my dog didn’t like it I could return it in 60 days. My dog ended up loving it but the satisfaction guarantee means I’ll pay a dollar or two more just to make sure.

The two groomers are great and they are always thought and caring with Ginny ! And Ginny likes them.

I love how Jess treats my elderly dog, with patience and care for his well-being in the salon. She is very sensitive to his needs and when he gets stressed.

Petco was extremely accommodating and fit bmo in for a groom and wash before the weekend. I’m so appreciative of that. They did a great job with Bmo and he looked and smelled great! Thank you!

Our appt was for 1:00 . We arrived 5 minutes early, however, Daisys grooming lasted to 4:10 p.m. That is entirely too long. If it happens again we will be forced to go elsewhere.

They take excellent care of my dog. She always looks good and she’s happy to arrive and happy when I pick her up.

Jessica is an absolutely wonderful with our dogs. She is so positive, calm and truly cares about their well-being. My one dog is a rescue and is very shy but she totally trusts Jess. My other dog is older and needs some special attention and Jess is very caring with her. Sarah, Justina and Hayley have groomed my girls as well in the past and they are all wonderful too. A great team - very compassionate and great customer service!

The groomer did a good job!

My dog, Gracie, was very well taken care by Sarah at the grooming station. I also liked the fact that as soon as I made the appointment I received a text message confirming it.

Sarah is fantastic with my pug! Before I went to Sarah my dog was awful about taking a bath and getting her nails cut but Sarah does such a good job shes not nearly as stressed about it anymore.
